JURNAL PSIMAWA: Diskursus Ilmu psikologi dan Pendidikan merupakan jurnal berkala ilmiah yang dipublikasi oleh Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Teknologi Sumbawa terbit setahun dua kali, yakni bulan Juni dan Desember. Jurnal Psimawa berisikan tulisan ilmiah berupa hasil penelitian, survei, gagasan konseptual atau hasil pemikiran reflektif yang kritis tentang diskursus ilmu-ilmu psikologi dan pendidikan yang disajikan secara sistematik dengan menggunakan gaya selingkung. Jurnal ini menerima tulisan dosen, peneliti, mahasiswa dan serta pemerhati dalam bidang-bidang psikologi dan pendidikan.

Abstract

Sikap orang tua dalam mendidik dan membesarkan anak dapat menjadi salah satu faktor yang memicu munculnya kecemasan sosial pada masa dewasa awal. Risiko tersebut dapat timbul akibat penerapan pola asuh otoriter, di mana anak dituntut untuk selalu patuh terhadap aturan dan perintah orang tua tanpa kesempatan untuk bertanya atau menyampaikan pendapat, dengan pola komunikasi yang bersifat satu arah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh otoriter dan kecemasan sosial pada individu dewasa awal di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian korelasional dengan instrumen berupa skala pola asuh otoriter dan skala kecemasan sosial (LSAS-SR). Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling, melibatkan 150 responden. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji hipotesis non-parametrik. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,005 (< 0,05), yang mengindikasikan adanya hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara pola asuh otoriter dan kecemasan sosial pada individu dewasa awal di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Abstract

This study investigated the link between the perception of mental disorders and academic stress in 206 Jakarta junior high school students, aged 11–15. Employing a quantitative correlational method, the research found a significant positive relationship between the two variables (rs = 0.543, p < 0.05). Perceptions related to depression, anxiety, and academic pressures like workload and time constraints were all positively correlated with academic stress. Interestingly, female students demonstrated a higher perception of mental disorders than males, though academic stress levels did not differ significantly by gender. However, no significant difference was found in academic stress levels between males and females. These findings underscore the need for targeted interventions. They provide a valuable foundation for mental health practitioners, educators, and parents to develop strategies that mitigate the negative impact of these perceptions on student well-being, thereby supporting adolescent mental health and overall quality of life.

Abstract

The advancement of technology, the shift to the Industry 5.0 era, and the adoption of Work From Home (WFH) have changed work dynamics, triggered stress, and reduced employee engagement, contributing to the rise of the quiet quitting. This study analyzes the correlation between work as meaning and quiet quitting among 338 employees in Jabodetabek aged 20 to 40 years. Using a quantitative correlational method with questionnaires, the results found a significant negative correlation (rs = -0.322, p<0.000), meaning that higer perceptions of meaningful work are associated with lower tendecies for quiet quitting. Comparative analysis showed that managerial employees scored highest in work as meaning and lowest in quiet quitting, while operational employees showed the opposite trend. These results emphasize the importance of creating meaningful work environments to boost employee engagement and reduce the likelihood of quiet quitting, especially amid rapid technological and workplace changes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between Conformity and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) among Generation Z consumers of Somethinc products on the TikTok platform in Yogyakarta. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational design, this study involved 98 respondents aged 13–28 years who had purchased Somethinc products, had a TikTok account, and resided in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data collection was conducted online through Google Forms using a Conformity scale (36 items) and a Fear of Missing Out (FoMO)scale (39 items) adapted from previous studies. Data analysis was performed using normality tests (Kolmogorov-Smirnov), linearity tests, and Pearson's Product Moment correlation. The results showed that the majority of respondents had high levels of Conformity (63%) and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) (66%). There was a positive and significant relationship between Conformity and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) (r = 0.610; p = 0.000), with Conformity contributing 37.2% to Fear of Missing Out (FoMO). These findings support the hypothesis that the higher an individual's Conformity, the higher their tendency to experience Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in the context of digital consumption on TikTok. This study provides theoretical contributions to understanding the psychological dynamics of Generation Z as well as practical implications for ethical marketing and digital literacy education.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of self-career efficacy training on student’s anxiety in facing the future. The research method uses an experimental quantitative approach. The data collection method used a future anxiety scale. The results showed that there was a difference in anxiety levels between before and after being given self-career efficacy training treatment with a value of p = 0.000 (p<0.05). Then the results of the study also showed that there was a difference in anxiety levels between the experimental group and the control group with a value of p = 0.036 (p<0.05). The results of this research are expected contribute to Mulawarman University as a basis for designing a more effective counseling program for students who experience future anxiety. Abstract

The imbalance between work and personal life has become a serious challenge for many employees in modern industrial settings. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of counseling interventions in improving work-life balance among employees of the HR & General Affairs Division at PT X. Using a qualitative case study approach with a one group pretest-posttest design, two subjects (NL and LA) were selected based on their low initial work-life balance scores. The intervention consisted of three counseling sessions focusing on self-awareness, stress management, relaxation techniques, mindfulness, and light physical exercise. Results showed an increase in work-life balance scores from low to moderate and high categories, with an average N-Gain of 31.5%. Beyond quantitative improvements, qualitative data indicated positive behavioral changes, including better time management, emotional regulation, and awareness of personal limits. The counseling sessions helped employees recognize the importance of life balance and reduce maladaptive work-centered thought patterns. Overall, the findings suggest that counseling interventions effectively enhance employees’ psychological well-being and work productivity in industrial organizational contexts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi dan strategi manajemen kelas yang dilakukan oleh guru dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif di SDN Boak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah guru kelas dan siswa di SDN Boak. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru di SDN Boak telah menerapkan berbagai strategi manajemen kelas, seperti pengaturan tata ruang yang fleksibel, pemberian penguatan positif, penegakan disiplin secara adil, serta pendekatan emosional yang humanis terhadap siswa, guru tidak hanya fokus pada penyampaian materi, tetapi juga menggunakan strategi seperti ice breaking, bercerita, bernyanyi, atau permainan untuk menjaga minat belajar siswa.. Implementasi strategi tersebut mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang aman, nyaman, dan partisipatif sehingga meningkatkan motivasi serta keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa keberhasilan manajemen kelas bergantung pada kemampuan guru dalam mengintegrasikan aspek pengelolaan fisik, sosial, dan emosional kelas secara seimbang.

Abstract

This is a quantitative research with cluster random sampling. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of student readiness on academic achievement, The independent variable in the study are student readiness while the dependent variables are academic achievement. The population in this study were all 236 students in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Bulukumba, while the sample consisted of 106 students. Research data obtained through the scale and documentation of report cards. The data analysis technique is by multiple regression analysis. Based on the results of inferential statistics, the results of this research is partially student readiness does not affect academic achievement, in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between conformity and prosocial behavior among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise traders in Salatiga City. A quantitative correlational method was employed, with the population consisting of MSME traders in Salatiga and a purposive sampling technique yielding 104 participants. The instruments used were the Prosocial Tendencies Measure (PTM) to assess prosocial behavior and The Conformity Scale to measure conformity. Data were analyzed using Spearman’s correlation due to non-normal distribution and non-linear relationships between variables. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between conformity and prosocial behavior (r = 0.242; p = 0.013), indicating that higher conformity is associated with greater tendencies to display prosocial actions. These findings have practical implications for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise development programs, emphasizing the need to strengthen group norms while fostering psychological and social factors that encourage sustainable prosocial practices.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the level of eco-anxiety among coastal communities based on gender and age. A quantitative survey was conducted with 117 respondents. Descriptive analysis showed that the majority of respondents were female (78.6%), with a higher average eco-anxiety score (Mean = 13.43, SD = 7.03) compared to males (Mean = 12.64, SD = 5.91). By age group, the highest score was observed in the 41–55 years category (Mean = 14.03, SD = 6.49), followed by the 21–30 years group (Mean = 13.52, SD = 7.03), while the 31–40 years group had the lowest score (Mean = 11.35, SD = 6.47). These findings indicate that females and older adults tend to exhibit higher levels of eco-anxiety. This may be explained by greater exposure to environmental information, higher awareness of climate change, and increased social responsibility among these groups. The results provide a basis for psychoeducational interventions aimed at promoting mental health in coastal communities.
