Abstract

Carangwulung Village in Wonosalam District, Jombang Regency, faces challenges in milk production due to the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) outbreak. This community service program aims to improve the productivity and income of dairy farmers through the application of silage fodder processing technology and effective milk product marketing strategies. The methodology includes counseling and direct practice on silage making and marketing of dairy products to farmers in Carangwulung village, Wonosalam, Jombang. Participants were taught how to make silage feeds from local materials and broader marketing techniques using social media and online marketplaces. The results show a significant increase in farmers' knowledge and skills regarding silage technology and marketing. Awareness of FMD prevention and management also increased. The application of silage technology successfully improved fodder quality and milk productivity, while marketing strategies helped farmers expand market access and increase product value. In conclusion, this program effectively achieved its goal of enhancing the welfare and food security of dairy farmers in Carangwulung Village. Through the introduced technologies and strategies, farmers are now better prepared to face production and marketing challenges, supporting the sustainability of their farming operations.

Abstract

White oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is a type of fungus that often grows on agricultural waste in the form of wood or its derivatives. Fungi obtain food from places where they grow and can survive on plant remains around other organisms. Oyster mushrooms are a food commodity that is in great demand among the public, so by cultivating mushrooms it is hoped that they will be able to be involved further, it is hoped that creativity and innovation will emerge and be able to provide added value to society. Oyster mushrooms are only produced and sold fresh without any diversification process. In this KKN activity there will be training on oyster mushrooms to increase family income. As a result of this training, PKK women from Tamansari Wonorejo Village were able to provide understanding and skills to activity participants. PKK women in Tamansari Wonorejo Village have knowledge and skills regarding the food potential around them as an effort to increase family income.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the potential of urban farming techniques through the cultivation of maggots and zebrafish in Kampung Oase Ondomohen, Surabaya. The partnership activities are expected to increase productivity and foster economic self-reliance among residents by developing creative agricultural enterprises in small and limited spaces. Specifically, the program seeks to address the low productivity and entrepreneurship levels within the community by introducing maggot pellet cultivation and the utilization of narrow aquatic spaces for zebrafish farming. This collaboration with higher education institutions is designed to boost economic opportunities in the area. Another key aspect of the program is to empower community groups to improve their cultivation techniques and innovate in the production of maggot pellets and zebrafish through creative farming practices. The program will be implemented with the community group in Kampung Sayur Ondomohen, Kelurahan Ketabang, Kecamatan Genteng, Surabaya, East Java. The community will receive training to enhance their knowledge of maggot pellet production and zebrafish farming through practical knowledge transfer, workshops, application of drying techniques for maggot pellets, effective pond hygiene management, and zebrafish farming in limited spaces. The partnership will be executed in three stages: site orientation, technical farming education, and workshops to improve knowledge of maggot and zebrafish farming. This will be followed by hands-on training to enhance skills and capabilities in managing maggot and zebrafish cultivation. The program also includes community mentoring, where research-based technologies are applied in real-world scenarios to foster sustainable development

Abstract

The cultivation of fish has a charm that attracts the attention of students in class IX of SMP Kristen Rehoboth. This is evident in the students' enthusiasm to learn about fish cultivation using KJA containers, as well as practical ways to raise fish. Therefore, one of the holistic educations currently being developed at SMP Kristen Rehoboth is practical education about fish cultivation. Introducing freshwater cultivation to the students of SMP Kristen Rehoboth plays an important role in environmental education and practical learning. It allows students to understand directly the sustainability of aquatic biota, the importance of maintaining the balance of aquatic ecosystems, the role of fish in ecosystems, and the impact of human activities on aquatic environments. This activity is expected to have a positive impact on the understanding of SMP Kristen Rehoboth students regarding aquatic environments, and fish cultivation activities using floating net cages as fish farming containers. The activity consists of several stages, including preparation, implementation, and evaluation. In the implementation, the material presented includes: Understanding KJA and its differences from other fish cultivation containers; identifying the parts and functions of the KJA equipment components; and evaluating fish cultivation practices in KJA containers based on the results of practice. The post-test results show that 76.92% of students understand the material explained about KJA, and 70.77% of students have a good understanding of the material presented. These results indicate that students can understand the material given even though the delivery of the material is done simply. The enthusiasm of the students in class IX of SMP Kristen Rehoboth Ambon in participating in the introduction of fish cultivation using KJA shows that students are interested in learning about fish cultivation using floating net cages.

Abstract

The modern lifestyle of the people of Kendari City can have an impact on health, especially stroke. The healing process for stroke patients is a long process so it requires the role of the family as caregivers. Lack of caregiver knowledge and skills in caring for post-stroke patients at home can create a burden for caregivers. Caregivers have never received education and training on how to lift and move (hands-on) family members after a stroke. The aim of Hands-on technique training with ergonomic positions was to increase the knowledge and skills of caregivers, which in the end can contribute to reducing the burden, including the cost of post-stroke care, and improving the quality of health services in the community. The method of implementing this training includes providing education, demonstrations and mentoring. The pre-test and post-test were carried out before and after the training. As a result of this community service, there was an increase in the knowledge of caregivers and health cadres by 31% and increased skills in applying hands-on techniques with ergonomic positions. The results of observations during the re-demonstration showed that the participants were able to repeat the skills that had been taught well. Good knowledge and skills make it easier for stroke caregivers to play an active role in the recovery process of stroke patients at home. The knowledge gained from this training can be used by caregivers in caring for family members after stroke without complaints of fatigue. Health cadres can also utilize the knowledge and skills gained during this training activity by teaching other caregivers who have not participated in this training activity. The Hands-on technique training activities with ergonomic positions that have been implemented provide new knowledge and improve the skills of informal stroke caregivers and health cadres. This increase can improve the quality of public health services.

Abstract

Product quality and green product innovation determine the level of competition in small, medium, and large-scale businesses. Therefore, all manufacturers are competing to improve the products produced, including green products or environmentally friendly products which are currently a central issue for businessmen in Indonesia. The purpose of this community service is to provide training to improve the quality of green products for beginner small businessmen and experienced small business people in Keranggan Village, South Tangerang so that the products produced become the target of consumers. This activity is carried out systematically starting from planning to evaluation. Training is an important strategy to increase the added value of products, especially green products that are increasingly needed in efforts to mitigate environmental degradation. The training methods used are lectures, discussions, and surveys of the participants before and after the training.  The results of community service show that most small business owners in Keranggan have a very high need to increase the value of their products. The training covers various topics, ranging from selecting raw materials, production processes, and evaluating environmentally friendly products. The assessment of the training session showed a significant increase in participants' understanding and commitment to developing the value of the resulting green products. The practical implications of this community service include the importance of continuously strengthening the small and medium business community about green products that are competitive.

Abstract

The Batik Canting Khas Gempol SMEs in Pasuruan Regency face challenges in adopting digital technology to expand their market and enhance competitiveness. Low digital literacy is the main barrier. This program is designed to provide training and assistance for digital business transformation. The aim of this activity is to increase digital capabilities and motivate SME members to more actively utilize digital technology. This program uses a participatory action research model involving training, workshops, seminars, and individual consultation sessions to enhance participants' digital skills. As a result, 20 participants attended the training and workshops, with an average attendance rate of 97%. Significant improvements were observed in the participants' digital understanding, with an average post-test score of 90% compared to a pre-test score of 50%. About 95% of participants successfully created digital content, and 90% were able to use social media platforms for promotion. Within 2 months after the training, 70% of participants reported an average online sales increase of 30%. This program successfully improved the digital capabilities of Batik Canting Khas Gempol SMEs, demonstrating that external support and guidance are effective in empowering SMEs to undergo digital transformation.

Abstract

The business of making and selling U-ditch products has been carried out by CV. Tunggal Tri Perkasa since 2021. However, sales have not experienced a significant increase due to the increasingly expensive material costs for making U-ditch and price competition with other U-ditch manufacturers. U-ditch is precast concrete used to make water channels and is made from materials such as cement, sand, gravel and water. The aim and benefits of this service are to overcome these problems. The RG D3 Civil Engineering team seeks to provide solutions by collaborating on concrete innovation research that has been carried out to be applied to partner U-ditch products. The innovative concrete used uses Polypropylene Plastic (PP) instead of gravel and limestone instead of sand and cement to minimize production costs. The method used in this service is to socialize and directly manufacture U-ditch with innovative concrete. The proportions designed for the innovative concrete use 15% limestone and 5% PP plastic to obtain quality according to U-ditch standards. The results of this service activity after completing the questionnaire to partner members were that 90% understood the socialization activities and stages of making U-ditch. This activity provides knowledge about renewable innovations in concrete to be applied to U-ditch so that in the future partners can increase production results.

Abstract

This digital literacy socialization activity aims to enhance understanding and skills related to inclusive education for teachers and parents in Pohuwato Regency. The full support from the Pohuwato Regency Education Office, the enthusiasm of the participants, and adequate facilities were the main supporting factors in organizing this activity. The participants, consisting of 15 teachers and 10 parents, showed a significant increase in understanding of the basic concepts of inclusive education, effective teaching strategies, and the utilization of technology in inclusive education, as evidenced by the results of the pre-test and post-test, as well as demonstrations and practices during the training.However, several challenges such as the limited training duration, limited access to technology for participants from remote areas, and social stigma towards disabilities still need to be addressed. Nonetheless, the positive attitude change towards inclusive education among the participants indicates the strong impact of this activity.

Abstract

Wonolopo Tourism Village is a Thematic Village that supports tourism packages, with the presence of a reservoir, Wonolopo Village has more visitors, for that reason souvenirs are needed that are typical of Wonolopo Village, Wonolopo Village has agricultural potential in the form of cassava, sweet potatoes, bananas, aloe vera. In order to be more optimal, it will be processed into products that are typical of Wonolopo Village and can improve the community's economy. The purpose of this activity is to find solutions to the problems of the Wonolopo Village community with a community empowerment approach, so as to strengthen the community's potential and form a tourist village "Edupark and Agricultural Center". The results of the community service activities are (1) the community understands and supports the PKM program; (2) the formation of the Embong Wonolopo UMKM association; (3) the formation of the Embong Wonolopo Pokdarwis and the Layout (Master Plan) of the Embung Tourism Village to build the Embong Wonolopo tourist attraction, (4) the emergence of various snacks made from bananas, cassava, sweet potatoes, and hand sanitizers made from aloe vera (5) increasing income and prosperity of the community from the processing of local potential in the form of bananas, cassava, sweet potatoes and aloe vera into products that have a higher economic value. There is an increase in income, an increase in the quality of tourism products and services, as well as increasing business networks with various partners and the formation of online stores.
