Abstract

This training aims to provide understanding and skills to partners of Mina Ngremboko fish farmers in Bokesan Hamlet, Sindumartani, Ngemplak, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The problem for fish farmer partners lies in the ineffectiveness of controlling pond water quality. So far, partners have used titen science, so the accuracy of water conditions cannot be properly known. This training is to introduce a water control device by implementing IoT (Internet of Things) that can control water acidity (pH): 6.5-8.5, dissolved oxygen conditions: 5mg/L, and water temperature: 20-30’C. This tool can operate automatically so that partners can know the condition of the pond water in real-time using the web. In this case, partners can check the water condition from their mobile phones or laptops anywhere. This training is beneficial as evidenced by the increased understanding of knowledge about IoT implementation through the results of the average pre-test score on a scale of 100 of 61.20 and the average post-test score of 85.83. This data shows an increase in understanding of 24.63 points. As for attitudes and skills towards IoT which are detailed in 3 (three) categories, namely (1) attitudes towards technological innovation, the results obtained are the percentage of partners who agree and strongly agree in the pre-test score of 88 and post-test 96, (2) perception of the benefits of technology, pre-test score 86 and post-test 95, and (3) perception of ease of use, pre-test score 86 and post-test 91. This shows that the attitudes and skills of Mina Ngremboko fish farmers have had quite high support for the application of technology from the start. Thus, this training proves that the implementation of IoT as a web-based water quality controller can be implemented optimally. Abstract

Sekar Makmur Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Trimulyo Village, Jetis Sub-district, Bantul Regency is a productive community focusing on processing agricultural products such as cassava chips, bio-char briquettes, and organic compost. Nevertheless, their production capacity and product value remain limited due to several constraints: traditional cassava slicing, frying that relies on firewood and gas, a relatively long composting process, and unutilized rice-husk waste. This community service program aimed to enhance production efficiency and capacity through the application of appropriate technology (TTG) while strengthening managerial skills and digital marketing strategies to broaden market reach. The program was carried out in five stages: socialization, training, technology implementation, technology utilization assistance, and sustainability planning. Results show significant improvements in production, management, and marketing aspects. The TTG application increased empowerment levels: cassava slicing machine by 19.15%, rice-husk bio-char briquettes by 100%, and compost mixer by 12%. These outcomes demonstrate that appropriate technology combined with improved managerial capacity and digital marketing effectively raises product competitiveness, promotes sustainable agriculture, and empowers rural women, providing a replicable model of community empowerment. Keywords: empowerment improvement; Sekar Makmur Women Farmers Group; cassava slicer TTG; rice husk bio-char; compost mixer.

Abstract

The background of this program lies in the escalating waste management issues in Bantul Regency, which have become increasingly urgent following the closure of the Piyungan Final Waste Processing Site (TPST). The designated partner, SS Sido Resik Waste Bank, encounters three principal challenges: (1) the absence of inorganic waste processing technologies to enhance economic value, (2) the unavailability of equipment to dry wet waste, which complicates the sorting process, and (3) the lack of a system to convert organic waste into compost fertilizer. To address these issues, the implementing team introduced three units of Appropriate Technology (AT): the Plastic Waste Shredding Machine, the Rotary Dryer, and the Organic Magobox. The implementation process was carried out through five systematic stages: socialization, training, technological application, mentoring and evaluation, and sustainability planning. All units of AT were successfully adopted and operated by the partner institution, thereby directly mitigating the identified problems. The adoption of these technologies demonstrated a measurable and positive impact on community empowerment. The Plastic Waste Shredding Machine achieved a 100% utility rate, as it introduced a shredding process that was previously unavailable. The Rotary Dryer attained a 75% utility rate, as reflected in the reduction of drying time from 60 minutes to 15 minutes. The Organic Magobox achieved a 33.3% utility rate, corresponding to its use over 20 days out of the 60-day cycle required for compost production. Abstract

This Community Service Program aimed to improve business efficiency at the Gayuh Mukti Goat Farmers' Group in Bantul, Yogyakarta, which faced constraints in electricity supply, waste management, and feed processing. Through a participatory approach involving socialization, training, and assistance, three appropriate technologies were implemented to address these issues. The interventions included a feed chopper machine, a compost converter, and a solar panel installation equipped with a solar tracker. The implementation resulted in significant positive impacts: a 61.67% increase in feed chopping time efficiency; a 21.74% increase in organic fertilizer production self-sufficiency; and a 10% utility rate for the solar panel in providing emergency power during blackouts. In addition to the primary output of the technologies, this program also produced a scientific article accepted in a Sinta 4 accredited journal, mass media publications, and video content. This success provides a foundation for future sustainability programs focusing on agrotourism development and strengthening group management. Abstract

The rate of violence against children aged 6–12 years remains high at 20%, with 17.8% of these cases occurring in elementary schools. This situation highlights the importance of early sex education to prevent deviant behavior and sexual violence. Unfortunately, this topic is still considered taboo in Indonesia. One effective educational innovation is the PURPLE Program (Puppets for Understanding, Respect, Protection, and Learning Sex Education) implemented at Kasihan Public Elementary School. This program uses cartoon puppets and human puppets as a means of learning that is interesting and easy for children to understand. The activity was attended by 30 participants, consisting of teachers and 3rd-4th grade students, through three main sessions: joint education, student agent mentoring, and teacher mentoring. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' knowledge from 33% in the pre-test to 83% in the post-test, indicating a significant improvement in understanding of self-protection and sexuality education. The formation of the “Kami Sahabat” (We Are Friends) and “Guru Fasilitator PURPLE” (PURPLE Facilitator Teachers) groups also strengthened the sustainability of the program in the school environment. Overall, this activity proved that a culture-based and participatory approach not only increases knowledge but also shapes character, social empathy, and critical thinking skills in children.
