Abstract

The diverse needs of students require guidance and counseling teachers to conduct accurate and rapid assessments with the support of digital technology such as the Aku Pintar application, which facilitates effective data collection and analysis. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Aku Pintar application in assessing student needs in schools through a descriptive-reflective literature review. The analysis was conducted by reviewing various relevant studies and academic articles related to the implementation of digital assessment in guidance and counseling practices. The results of the study indicate that the Aku Pintar application helps guidance and counseling teachers identify students' academic and non-academic needs more quickly and accurately. Furthermore, this study synthesizes that the effectiveness of using digital applications in guidance and counseling services is determined not only by technological superiority but also by teachers' digital literacy readiness and school system support. Theoretically, this study contributes to strengthening the concepts of digital counseling and data-driven counseling in the context of student needs assessment in schools. Practically, the results of this study provide implications for guidance and counseling teachers and educational institutions to improve digital competency and provide infrastructure support to optimize the use of technology in guidance and counseling services. These findings also emphasize the importance of teachers' digital literacy readiness in utilizing assessment technology, as well as the need for continuous professional development. Abstract

Generation Z, especially adolescents, face problems of lack of knowledge about reproductive health, which can lead to risky behavior, unplanned pregnancies, and sexually transmitted infections. This condition is exacerbated by the prevalence of false information on social media and the lack of reproductive health education in religious schools. This study aims to determine the effect of group counseling using discussion techniques on the understanding of students at MA Muhammadiyah Palu. Using a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design, the study involved 10 students aged 15–18 years who were selected purposively. The instrument was a valid and reliable comprehension test, analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis, which included the Wilcoxon test and effect size. The results showed a significant increase (Z = -2.809; p = 0.005 < 0.05) with Cohen's d = 2.47, which is classified as a very large effect. Thus, group counseling using discussion techniques is effective in improving adolescents' understanding of reproductive health in religious schools. Abstract

Bullying is a conscious act that causes injury and fear through mental or physical aggression, and is still common among adolescents, both as victims and perpetrators. The aims of this study is to analyze the relationship between parenting styles and self-confidence with bullying behavior mediated by conformity in high school students. The research used a quantitative design with 100 respondents as subjects through total sampling, and data analysis was tested using Partial Least Squares. The findings of this study proved that self-confidence was significantly related to bullying behavior (p = 0.017), while parenting styles, conformity, and the mediating role of conformity were not significant. Theoretically, these findings emphasize the importance of individual factors, especially self-confidence, in influencing adolescent aggressive behavior, while environmental influences or group pressure are not always determinants. Practically, this study suggests strengthening students' self-confidence as a primary strategy for bullying prevention, and provides guidance for teachers and parents to focus on character development and students' self-regulation skills in dealing with social interactions.   Keywords:parenting style; self-confidence; conformity; bullying behavior

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of green perceived value and green brand image on green purchase intention of electric motorcycles among Generation Z consumers. Employing a quantitative approach, data were collected through online questionnaires distributed via Google Forms, using convenience sampling. A total of 303 respondents from Generation Z who hold a motorcycle driving license (SIM C) participated. Measurement instruments included green purchase intention (Chen & Chang, 2012), green perceived value (Woo & Kim, 2019), and green brand image (Chen, 2010). Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS version 26. The results reveal that both green perceived value and green brand image significantly influence green purchase intention, jointly explaining 32.6% of its variance. These findings underscore the importance of green perceived value and green brand image in shaping consumer green purchase intentions, particularly within Generation Z, offering valuable insights for marketers and policymakers aiming to promote sustainable mobility solutions. Abstract

The decline in students’ academic achievement is not solely influenced by cognitive factors but is also closely related to psychological conditions and unfavorable family dynamics. Family conflicts, economic instability, and emotional pressure may trigger anxiety that negatively affects students’ learning concentration and academic motivation. This study aims to describe the role of individual counseling using the Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) approach through the scaling question technique in assisting students who experience a significant decline in academic achievement. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design involving one high school student who experienced a noticeable decrease in academic performance over the last two semesters. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations during the counseling sessions, and documentation of the student's academic records. The counseling process consisted of four sessions conducted over a one-month period. The findings indicate that the implementation of the SFBC approach helped the student identify internal resources and develop more adaptive strategies for change. The scaling question technique also assisted in monitoring the student’s emotional development, as indicated by the reduction of anxiety levels from scale 8 to 4 and the improvement of learning focus and academic motivation. These findings suggest that the SFBC approach can serve as an effective and practical counseling intervention to help students overcome declining academic achievement influenced by psychosocial factors within the school context. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of strengthening character education through the Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach in enhancing students’ meaningful learning. A quantitative method with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants were 30 students selected purposively based on low to moderate levels of meaningful learning. The instrument used was a Likert-scale Meaningful Learning Scale that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test to compare scores before and after the intervention. The findings revealed a significant increase in the mean score from 179.70 (pretest) to 199.30 (posttest), with a difference of 19.60 points. The calculated t-value of 10.944 (p < 0.001) indicates that the character-based CBT intervention is effective in improving meaningful learning. Additionally, the reduction in standard deviation from 13.49 to 11.59 suggests relatively homogeneous improvement among participants. Analytically, these results confirm that integrating cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and character value reinforcement enhances the internalization of learning. Theoretically, this study contributes an integrative CBT-character model linking cognitive, affective, and moral dimensions. Practically, it offers an evidence-based framework for implementing counseling services in higher education to improve student learning outcomes holistically. Abstract

Toxic relationships in dating are increasingly prevalent among adolescents and young adults and may lead to significant psychological consequences for the victims. This study aims to explore how victims of toxic relationships regulate their emotions in the process of developing resilience after experiencing dating violence. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with three female participants aged 17–22 years who had experienced unhealthy dating relationships. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns of emotional experiences and emotion regulation strategies used by the participants. The findings reveal that the participants experienced various forms of violence, including physical abuse, sexual coercion, economic exploitation, and possessive behaviors that restricted their personal freedom. These experiences triggered emotional responses such as sadness, anger, fear, and feelings of helplessness. Despite these challenges, the participants gradually developed coping strategies through emotion regulation, such as seeking social support, engaging in positive activities, and reconstructing healthier perspectives on relationships. The study highlights that adaptive emotion regulation and social support play crucial roles in helping victims of toxic relationships build resilience and move forward with their lives in a more constructive way. Abstract

Toxic friendship refers to unhealthy peer relationships that can negatively affect adolescents emotionally, psychologically, and socially. Such relationships may reduce self-confidence, hinder social development, and trigger prolonged emotional stress. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Assertive Training in reducing toxic friendship behavior among students at SMP Plus Abdul Aziz Jember. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pre-test–post-test control group was employed. The sample consisted of 12 students selected through purposive sampling, divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received Assertive Training as part of a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) intervention, while the control group did not receive any treatment. Data analysis using a paired sample t-test revealed a significant decrease in toxic friendship levels in the experimental group, indicated by a shift in scores from high to low (p = 0.000), whereas the control group showed no significant change. The novelty of this study lies in applying CBT-based Assertive Training specifically to address toxic friendship among junior high school students. These findings provide practical implications for guidance and counseling services, supporting students in developing healthier, more open, and assertive peer relationships. Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of time management and conscientiousness on academic procrastination in students in Karawang Regency. The research method used is quantitative with a comparative causality design. The population in this study is students in Karawang Regency with a sample of 399 respondents obtained through snowball sampling techniques. The instruments used include the Time Management Questionnaire (TMQ) to measure time management, the Big Five Inventory-2 (BFI-2) in the domain of conscientiousness, and the Tuckman Procrastination Scale (TPS) to measure academic procrastination. Data analysis was carried out using multiple regression tests (t-test and F-test) with the help of SPSS software version 26.0 for Windows. The results showed that only conscientiousness had a significant effect on academic procrastination, while time management did not show a significant effect. But simultaneously, time management and conscientiousness have a significant influence on academic procrastination. The value of the determination coefficient showed that the two independent variables were able to explain 77.3% of the variation in academic procrastination. Theoretically, these findings reinforce the study of personality psychology that emphasizes the role of trait conscientiousness as an important factor in controlling academic procrastination behavior. Practically, the results of this research can be the basis for universities to design character development programs, self-management training, and psychological interventions that focus on increasing conscientiousness to reduce the tendency of academic procrastination in students. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the stress coping strategies of two Indonesian female adolescents (MA and NA, aged 20) from divorced families and with a history of repeated suicide attempts. The study used a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis to understand the psychological dynamics and coping mechanisms used by the subjects in dealing with emotional stress. The results showed that both participants experienced complex trauma since their parents' divorce in childhood, which was exacerbated by dysfunctional family conditions such as domestic violence, infidelity, parental discrimination, and minimal social support. Initially, both subjects used maladaptive, emotion-based coping strategies such as escape-avoidance, social isolation, and self-harm. Over time, their coping patterns developed differently: MA shifted to religious coping through worship activities and spiritual reflection, which increased resilience and self-acceptance, while NA relied more on limited social support and conflict avoidance, but still showed emotional vulnerability. The contribution of this study lies in enriching the study of the coping dynamics of divorced adolescents with a history of suicide attempts in the Indonesian socio-cultural context. Practically, these findings imply the importance of comprehensive psychological interventions through coping skills training, family counseling. Keywords: coping strategies, suicide attempts, adolescents, parental divorce, qualitative case study, religious coping, dysfunctional family
