Abstract

Internet use is increasing every year, most of the reason is finding information (80.1%). Along with this, misinformation is circulating, including health information, so digital literacy is needed, especially for teenagers or Generation Z who are technology savvy. This activity aims to increase teenagers' digital literacy and help them search for appropriate health information through search engines. This Community Service is carried out using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method with direct face-to-face presentation of material and practice on the given topic. Participants were 43 high school/equivalent level students aged 15-19 years. Most participants were 16 years old (46.51%) and female (88.37%). The average knowledge of participants regarding appropriate health information in the pre-test was 60.21, and the post-test was 88.65. A total of 40 out of 43 participants experienced an increase in scores (93.02%) after lectures and practice. This activity concluded that participants' knowledge and skills increased regarding using search engines to manage appropriate health information.

Abstract

Mata pelajaran fisika di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) membutuhkan praktikum untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang konsep teori fisika dan aplikasinya, akan tetapi terdapat beberapa hambatan diantaranya butuh contoh konkret, keterbatasan laboratorium, keterbatasan alat dan bahan praktikum, alokasi waktu yang terbatas, dan pelaksanaan praktikum yang jarang. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) oleh Fakultas Teknologi Kedirgantaraan Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma dilaksanakan dari tanggal 29 November 2022 sampai dengan 19 Januari 2023 dalam bentuk praktikum fisika ke Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Sahid Bogor, SMA Bintara Depok, SMAK Ign. Slamet Riyadi Jakarta, dan SMAN 109 Jakarta. PkM ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan teknologi penerbangan dan menawarkan solusi beberapa hambatan tersebut. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam 8 (delapan) sesi praktikum dengan tiap sesi terdiri dari 10 (sepuluh) modul dan tiap kelompok siswa bergiliran melaksanakan praktikum yang dipandu oleh dosen dan mahasiswa. Hasil PkM ini menunjukkan bahwa tim pelaksana melalui kegiatan PkM berhasil memberi pengalaman praktikum kepada 259 peserta sebanyak 5-8 modul dalam waktu 90-120 menit dan mendorong ketertarikan 63% peserta pada praktikum fisika. Modul dengan alat praktikum sederhana dan cara penyampaian yang menarik terbukti mudah dipahami oleh siswa meskipun masih perlu pengembangan dengan penambahan waktu dan jenis modul serta pengaturan pergantian antar kelompok yang lebih baik.Physics subject in senior high school requires practicum to increase students' understanding of the theoretical concepts of physics and their applications, but there are several obstacles including the need for concrete examples, limited laboratories, lack of practicum tools and materials, limited time allocation, and a rare practicum implementation. Community service by the Faculty of Aerospace Technology Marshal Suryadarma University was carried out from 29 November 2022 to 19 January 2023 in the form of physics practicum at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Sahid Bogor, SMA Bintara Depok, SMAK Ign. Slamet Riyadi Jakarta, and SMAN 109 Jakarta aim to introduce aviation technology and offer solutions to some of these obstacles. The activity was carried out in 8 practicum sessions with each session consisting of 10 modules and each group of students took turns carrying out practicums guided by lecturers and students. The results of this PkM show that the implementing team, through PkM activities, succeeded in providing practical experience to 259 participants with 5-8 modules in 90-120 minutes and encouraging 63% of participants' interest in physics practicum. Modules with simple practicum tools and interesting delivery methods are proven to be easy for students to understand, although they still need development by addition of time and types of modules as well as better arrangements for switching between groups.

Abstract

Pediculus humanus capitis (head lice) is an obligate ectoparasite. Preparation of specimens is a procedure carried out to accurately preserve, identify, and analyze head lice. The Palangka Raya Biology Teachers Forum (MGMP) has collaborated with the Community Service Team of the Biology Study Program. This activity aims to improve high school Biology teachers' skills in preserving Pediculus humanus capitis (morphological observation and identification). This provides a solution to make school laboratory practicals more attractive, as preserved specimens can be stored and used long-term. The activity was offline at the PPIIG Building Laboratory, Palangka Raya University, in August 2023. The activity included lectures, discussions, training, and pre-test and post-test evaluation. The evaluation results show an increase in scores after the training, with an average pre-test score of 50.00 increasing to 80.33 in the post-test. It can be concluded that participants' knowledge increased after attending this training.

Abstract

Pengembangan desa menjadi isu penting 5 tahun terakhir. Desa Sungsang IV merupakan suatu desa yang didiami oleh masyarakat dari berbagi suku seperti Bugis, Melayu, dan Jawa.  Desa Sungsang ditunjuk menjadi salah satu desa wisata dengan beragam potensi alam dan budaya lokal yang dimiliki dan dapat dieksplorasi melalui potensi local wisdom yang dimiliki. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menawarkan konsep desa wisata ramah muslim melalui potensi kearifan lokal yang beragam. Kegiatan pengabdian menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research dengan kombinasi Focus Group Discussion dan wawancara terhadap informan. Waktu penyelesaian kegiatan membutuhkan waktu selama 3 bulan (September-November 2022). Hasil pengabdian menghasilkan beberapa kegiatan dan implikasi berupa pengembangan objek wisata religi makam K.H Mesir, penguatan rumah produksi Desa Sungsang IV, penulisan buku saku kamus sungsang, penulisan buku resep kuliner khas sungsang, peta transportasi objek wisata Desa Sungsang, standarisasi homestay ramah muslim.The development of villages has become a great issue in the last five years. People from various tribes, such as Bugis, Malay, and Javanese, inhabit Sungsang IV Village. All of the people are Muslim. Sungsang Village was designated as one of the tourist villages with various potentials that can be explored. This service activity offers the concept of a Muslim-friendly tourist village through the potential of various local wisdom. The Community of Service Act uses the Participatory Action Research method, combining Focus Group Discussions and interviews with the informant. Activity completion takes three months (September to November 2022). The results produce several activities and implications in the form of developing a religious tourism object of K.H Egypt's tomb, strengthening the production house of Sungsang IV Village, writing a Pocket Book of Sungsang Dictionary, writing a book of typical culinary recipes for sungsang, transportation maps for tourist attractions in Sungsang Village, standardization of muslim-friendly homestays.

Abstract

Training on the preparation and analysis of test items using the ANBUSO application was conducted to the social studies teachers of MGMP SMP/MTs Jember Regency at UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember. Based on the results of the initial Focus Group Discussion (FGD) conducted by the service team with the Social Studies Teacher Consultation Group SMP / MTs in Jember Regency, the partners are confronted with a problem that the MTs/SMP social studies teachers’ capacity to plan and produce reports on the outcomes of learning evaluation is insufficient. The aims of this service activity are as follows: a) describe the execution of training procedures of learning evaluation preparation, formulation of test items, and item analysis utilizing the ANBUSO application for social studies teachers of SMP/MTs in Jember Regency; b) describe the execution of item analysis assistance utilizing the ANBUSO application for social studies teachers of SMP/MTs in Jember Regency; c) determine the level of success of activities to strengthen the pedagogical competence of social studies teachers of SMP/MTs through training of preparation and item analysis using the ANBUSO Application. d) describe the results of the evaluation of service activities. The method employed in this service activity is the PAR (Participatory Action Research) through several stages including: Mapping and problem identification, FGD and problem analysis, Program preparation stage, program socialization, program implementation, monitoring, and program evaluation. The implementation of this community service activity consists of the following stages: (1) providing training materials consisting of the concept of learning evaluation, procedures for preparing learning evaluations, especially in the Merdeka curriculum, preparing test questions and test items analysis; (2) analyzing test items using the ANBUSO application. The results of the theoretical test in the form of a pre-test and post-test indicate that the post test data shows a significant increase, namely 91% passed with a score above 70 and the remaining 9% failed with a score below 70. Evaluation is also carried out by assessing the results of practices that have been successfully carried out by the participants.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk (1) melatih Guru BK dengan model konkrit layanan bimbingan dan konseling dalam upaya pencegahan dan penanggulangan kekerasan seksual di tingkat SMA; (2) sosialisasi mengenai aturan perundangan yang berlaku mengenai kekerasan seksual dan macam-macam bentuk kekerasan seksual yang dapat terjadi di lingkungan pendidikan; dan (3) bimbingan teknis untuk menguatkan keterampilan Guru BK SMA Kota Banjarmasin dalam mengimplementasikan strategi pencegahan dan penanggulangan kekerasan seksual di sekolah. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama 6 kali pertemuan atau ekuivalen dengan 35 jam pelatihan dengan berbagai metode seperti ceramah, diskusi terpimpin, demonstrasi, simulasi, praktek tersupervisi, dan praktek mandiri. Khalayak sasaran pada kegiatan ini adalah 34 Guru BK tingkat SMA/MA Sederajat. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan pada rentang tanggal 4 Mei hingga 8 Juni 2023. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kompetensi Guru BK SMA/MA di Kota Banjarmasin terkait strategi pencegahan dan penanggulangan kekerasan seksual di sekolah. Dengan demikian, bimbingan teknis mengenai strategi pencegahan dan penanggulangan kekerasan seksual di sekolah berdampak positif pada kompetensi Guru BK SMA di Kota Banjarmasin.This community service aims to (1) train guidance and counseling teachers with concrete models of guidance and counseling services in efforts to prevent and deal with sexual violence at the high school level; (2) socialization regarding applicable laws and regulations regarding sexual violence and various forms of sexual violence that can occur in educational settings; and (3) technical assistance to strengthen the skills of Banjarmasin City High School Counseling Teachers in implementing strategies for preventing and overcoming sexual violence in schools. This activity is carried out for 6 meetings or the equivalent of 35 hours of training using various methods such as lectures, guided discussions, demonstrations, simulations, supervised practice, and independent practice. The target audience for this activity were 34 Guidance Teachers at the SMA/MA equivalent level. Service activities were carried out between 4 May and 8 June 2023. The results of the implementation of this activity showed that there was an increase in the competence of SMA/MA guidance counselors in the City of Banjarmasin regarding strategies for preventing and overcoming sexual violence in schools. Thus, technical guidance on strategies for preventing and overcoming sexual violence in schools has had a positive impact on the competence of high school counseling teachers in the city of Banjarmasin.

Abstract

This training aims to train teachers in Sukoharjo Regency in the independent curriculum by applying digital literacy as professional educators. The training method involves socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation stages. The success target in this training is 40%. The training results show that the training stages are carried out in four stages: providing material, implementing an application in digital literacy learning, assisting teachers in creating and operating digital literacy, and evaluating this training. This training was carried out on February 6, 2023, with the results showing that 49 teachers in Sukoharjo Regency stated that they were very satisfied with the delivery of material by the presenters, a total of 27 people (55.1%). The benefits of this digital literacy training were in the very useful category for 34 teachers or 69.4%. Furthermore, in the continuation of this training, it was categorized from the data above as follows: 12 teachers felt it was very actionable, 31 teachers felt it could be followed up, and six teachers felt it was quite actionable. The evaluation data above stated that there was success in implementing this training, which reached above 40%.

Abstract

Plastik merupakan sampah non organik yang memiliki banyak manfaat terutama dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, banyaknya plastik yang digunakan oleh masyarakat dan dibuang begitu saja setelah dipakai maka akan menyebabkan timbulnya sampah dan limbah plastik. Desa Batee Puteh merupakan salah satu desa yang ada di Kecamatan Langsa Lama di Kota Langsa. Banyaknya jumlah penduduk mengakibatkan munculnya persoalan mengenai penanggulangan limbah plastic. Selama ini masyarakat menanggulangi limbah plastik tersebut dengan cara dibakar dan tidak sedikit pula yang membuangnya ke aliran sungai yang akan berdampak banjir. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian adalah pengolahan limbah plastik menjadi barang yang berdaya guna serta mitra memiliki keterampilan merajut. Tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat menjadikan desa tersebut sebagai tempat untuk menghasilkan produk yang bermanfaat bagi warga sekitar, khususnya ibu-ibu PKK Desa Bate Puteh. Kegiatan yang kami tawarkan kepada warga Desa Bate Puteh adalah membuat crochet Plastic. Waktu pelaksanaan pada tanggal 23 -24 Agustus 2023 dengan jumal peserta sebanyak 20 orang. Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan pelatihan dan pendamping kepada ibu-ibu PKK Desa Bate Puteh. Crochet adalah mengaitkan benang, tali, kawat, pita ataupun kain sehingga terbentuk model-model tertentu. Alat utama yang diperlukan adalah jarum pengait (hakpen). Hasil rajutan berupa tas dipadukan dengan aksesoris tambahan seperti kancing dan manik-manik. Membuat crochet plastic sangat cocok untuk diterapkan kepada ibu-ibu PKK, yang dapat dilakukan di waktu senggang sebagai pekerjaan paruh waktu dan mereka dapat mengembangkan keterampilan yang sangat berguna bagi diri mereka sendiri dan orang yang mereka cintai.Plastic is a non-organic waste with many benefits, especially in everyday life; the amount of plastic used by the community and thrown away after use will cause plastic waste and waste. Bate Puteh Village is one of the villages in the Langsa Lama Sub-district in Langsa City. A large number of residents resulted in problems regarding the handling of plastic waste; so far, the community has handled the plastic waste by burning it, and not a few threw it into the river, which will impact flooding. The community service activity aims to process plastic waste into useful items, and partners have knitting skills. The community service team made the village a place to produce useful products for residents, especially the PKK women of Bate Puteh Village. The activity we offer to the residents of Bate Puteh Village is making plastic crochets. The implementation time was August 23-24, 2023, with 20 participants. The implementation method is to train and mentor PKK women in Bate Puteh Village. Crochet is hooking yarn, rope, wire, ribbon, or cloth to form certain models. The main tool needed is a hook needle (hakpen). Knitted results in a bag combined with additional accessories such as buttons and beads. Making crochet plastic is especially suitable for PKK mothers, which can be done in their spare time as a part-time job and where they can develop skills that are very useful for themselves and their loved ones.

Abstract

The community service aimed to enhance students’ knowledge of various livestock and the importance of animal-derived food products as the foundation for a healthy and nutritious life. One of the potentials for children's intelligence comes from consuming healthy food products. Activities were carried out using exposure and evaluation methods through pre-test and post-test. The activity results showed increased students' knowledge, with the average pre-test score being 50.74 and the average post-test score after the material presentation being 83.70.  During the activity, students were seen as enthusiastic about the material presented. In conclusion, this activity improved knowledge regarding the recognition of various livestock and animal-derived food products. Students were able to enhance their understanding of various ruminant and poultry livestock based on their characteristics and names. Additionally, students better understood the sources of healthy and nutritious animal protein food products.

Abstract

Digitalization aims to make work easier and optimize time and resources as efficiently as possible. Teachers, like it or not, must face digitalization in this era of society 5.0. The benefits of digitizing education are that it makes teacher and student schedules more flexible, speeds up and simplifies the evaluation process, and creates a more personalized learning experience. The problem partners face is the lack of teachers' experience and knowledge in creating digital modules. Teachers are required to apply digitalization in learning based on the current implementation of the Independent Curriculum. Partner schools lack funds to support training activities to improve teacher competency. There are no instructors who are able to provide training in creating digital modules. The aim of this service activity is to provide education in the form of training and assistance in creating digital modules for MTsN Seuruway teachers, as an effort to increase competency. The method used is Participatory Action Research by involving all participants in training activities. All the teachers at the MTsN Seuruway school were involved in this activity. The results achieved after this activity were that the teachers could use the applications taught in the training. Teachers are able to create digital modules with the Canva program. Increased teacher understanding in updating the teaching modules given to students. The conclusion that can be drawn is that this training has provided additional knowledge and new skills so that teachers can create teaching media that are more interactive and interesting for teaching students.
