Abstract

Criminal immigration violations have become an urgent legal issue due to the increasing mobility of foreign nationals entering Indonesia through Kupang, a strategic border gateway between Indonesia and Timor Leste. This study aims to analyze the supervision and criminal law enforcement carried out by the Class I TPI Immigration Office of Kupang and evaluate whether such measures create a deterrent effect. This research employs an empirical juridical method with a socio-legal approach using interviews with immigration officials and official immigration violation data from 2024–2025. The findings show that 77 violations occurred in 2024 and 67 in 2025, mostly involving nationals from Bangladesh, Myanmar, and China. Many cases fulfilled the elements of criminal offenses under Article 113, Article 119 paragraph (1), and Article 122 letter a of Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration. However, all 144 cases were resolved through administrative measures, namely detention and deportation, without criminal prosecution. This indicates that immigration criminal law tends to function as dead letter law and reflects a gap between law in books and law in action. Administrative dominance is influenced by limited certified investigators, coordination constraints with the Prosecutor’s Office, and efficiency considerations. The study concludes that immigration criminal law enforcement in Kupang remains ineffective and recommends strengthening investigator capacity, institutional coordination, and selective criminal enforcement for repeated and organized violations.

Abstract

The younger generation holds a crucial position in promoting and sustaining democratic life in Indonesia. In the era of globalization and rapid technological advancement, young people face various challenges, including declining national awareness, the spread of misinformation, and reduced civic engagement. These issues have the potential to weaken social cohesion and undermine the development of a peaceful democratic society. This article seeks to explore the significance of fostering youth spirit and civic responsibility in strengthening democracy through the cultivation of nationalism, tolerance, political participation, and adherence to Pancasila values. The study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods by examining relevant books, journals, and other academic sources. The findings reveal that young people play a vital role as agents of change, democratic watchdogs, and active participants in political and social processes. Their involvement in elections, public discourse, and the constructive use of digital media can contribute positively to democratic development. Furthermore, the internalization of nationalism, tolerance, and Pancasila values serves as an essential foundation for maintaining unity and social harmony in Indonesia’s diverse society. Character education and digital literacy are also important instruments for developing a generation that is critical, responsible, and capable of responding wisely to the challenges of the digital age. Therefore, strengthening the spirit and awareness of young people is essential for fostering a democratic, peaceful, and sustainable future for Indonesia.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the implementation of literacy clinics as a strategic approach to strengthening elementary school students’ reading skills within instructional contexts that remain largely uniform and insufficiently responsive to diverse learning needs. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review design combined with a descriptive qualitative approach to develop a comprehensive understanding of literacy clinic practices, drawing on scholarly publications indexed in Google Scholar from 2016 to 2026 that were selected based on relevance and methodological rigor. The findings indicate that literacy clinics function not merely as remedial programs for struggling readers, but also as diagnostic frameworks capable of identifying specific learning barriers. Through structured and flexible interventions, these programs contribute to improvements in reading accuracy, text comprehension, and students’ active engagement in the learning process, while also encouraging a shift in teachers’ pedagogical practices toward more adaptive, reflective, and student-centered approaches. Furthermore, the effectiveness of literacy clinics is closely linked to teachers’ diagnostic competence, consistency in implementation, and the presence of a supportive school environment, suggesting that literacy clinics should be positioned not only as remedial interventions but also as transformative pedagogical models that foster the sustainable development of foundational literacy skills in elementary education

Abstract

Teamwork is a crucial skill that helps students complete group projects. However, differences in participation levels, communication, responsibility, and task allocation often hinder collaborative learning. This study aims to analyze the impact of team collaboration on the success of students' group assignment completion. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method, distributing questionnaires to 105 active students with experience completing group projects. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS through validity, reliability, normality, simple linear regression analysis, partial t-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The research findings indicate that team collaboration has a positive and significant effect on the success of group assignment completion. The regression equation obtained is Y = 6.285 + 0.763X, indicating that each increase in team collaboration is accompanied by an increase in the success of group assignment completion. The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), thus supporting the research hypothesis. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.525 indicates that team collaboration can explain 52.5% of the variation in the success of group assignment completion, while the remaining 47.5% is influenced by other factors not included in the study. This study indicates that communication, coordination, active participation, responsibility, and efficient task distribution are crucial elements in increasing the success of student group assignment completion.
