Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of technology application in science learning at SDN 1 E'erinere. The research addressed the problem of low student engagement and difficulty in understanding abstract science concepts under conventional teaching methods dominated by lectures and textbooks. The study aimed to determine the effect of technology-based learning on student learning outcomes and learning motivation. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed, using a nonequivalent control group design. Forty fifth-grade students participated, divided into an experimental group of 20 students who received technology-based instruction and a control group of 20 students taught through conventional methods. Data were collected using multiple-choice tests for pretest and posttest, a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring motivation, and classroom observation. Instruments were validated through expert judgment and tested for reliability before use. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and an independent samples t-test, preceded by normality and homogeneity tests. Results showed that the experimental group's posttest scores rose from an average of 60 to 85, compared with an increase from 58 to 75 in the control group, with a significance value of 0.01. The experimental group also recorded a higher average motivation score of 4.21 against 3.48 in the control group. These findings indicate that technology-based learning significantly improves both learning outcomes and motivation among elementary school students. Technology application therefore offers a viable strategy for elementary science education, provided it is supported by teacher readiness and adequate facilities.

Abstract

Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in the third grade at MI Al-Huda Ploso was still dominated by teacher-centered learning, causing students to be passive and limiting the development of their creativity. Therefore, a more innovative and student-centered learning model was needed. One appropriate model is Project Based Learning (PjBL), which provides meaningful learning experiences through project-based activities to enhance students' creativity. This study aimed to determine the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model and to analyze its effect on the development of students' creativity in the IPAS subject for third-grade students at MI Al-Huda Ploso. This research employed a quantitative approach using a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The participants consisted of an experimental class and a control class, each comprising 29 students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and the Independent Samples t-test. The results showed that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model was carried out effectively and created an active, collaborative, and student-centered learning environment. The average score of the experimental class increased from 65.52 in the pre-test to 74.00 in the post-test, while the control class increased from 65.00 to 72.00. The hypothesis test showed a significance value of Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.001, indicating that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Therefore, the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model had a significant positive effect on the development of students' creativity in the IPAS subject for third-grade students at MI Al-Huda Ploso.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the teacher's role as facilitator and model in stimulating the expressive oral language skills of children aged 4–5 years at TK Swasta Katolik Budi Murni 2 Medan. The study is grounded in the importance of the teacher's role in supporting children's language development through daily learning interactions. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with the classroom teacher and fifteen children in group A as research subjects. Data were collected through five days of non-participant observation and semi-structured interviews with the classroom teacher, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with technical triangulation applied to ensure the credibility of the findings. The results show that the teacher's facilitator role was realized through the provision of varied, multimodal learning activities, a flexible and supportive learning environment, and diverse instructional media. Meanwhile, the teacher's model role was realized through consistently demonstrating proper and polite Indonesian language use and providing constructive responses to children's speech. Both roles were found to operate in an integrated and complementary manner, proving effective in optimally supporting the development of children's expressive oral language. These findings confirm the relevance of the facilitator-and-model role framework and social learning theory in early childhood language stimulation practice.

Abstract

Students' mathematical problem-solving skills in Indonesia remain relatively low, as reflected by PISA results where over 70% of students score below Level 2. A similar condition was found among seventh-grade students regarding triangle similarity, allegedly caused by teacher-centered instruction and a lack of interactive digital media. This study aims to examine the effect of the 7E Learning Cycle model assisted by Google Sites on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. Employing a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, the sample consisted of 30 seventh-grade students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using essay tests based on Polya's indicators, validated by experts, and analyzed descriptively and inferentially using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed an increase in the mean score from a pretest of 21.47 (SD = 10.00) to a posttest of 44,93 (SD = 18,34). The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test yielded with (), indicating a significant difference between the initial and final scores with a large effect size (). Meanwhile, the mean N-Gain score was 0,29, classified as low, although 43,33% of students reached the moderate category. These findings demonstrate that the 7E Learning Cycle model assisted by Google Sites has a significant effect on improving students' mathematical problem-solving skills. The model is recommended as an alternative instructional strategy, with future studies suggested to include a control group to strengthen causal evidence.

Abstract

Digital technology transformation has changed the learning process across various levels of education. The increasing use of social media as a manifestation of technological advancement has also given rise to technostress as a new challenge, making self-regulation is expected to play a crucial role as an internal capacity in managing these effects. This research was conducted to analyze the mediating role of self-regulation in the relationship between social media overload and technostress among students at SMKN 3 Jakarta. In this quantitative survey, the sample consisted of 118 Office Management students and was selected using the proportionate random sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on the Partial Least Square (PLS) method in SmartPLS 4. The findings indicate that the direct effect of social media overload on technostress was not significant (β = -0,155; p = 0,147). In addition, social media overload on self-regulation (β = -0,309; p = 0,001) and self-regulation on technostress (β = -0,619; p < 0,001) both showed significant negative direct effects. Furthermore, self-regulation was found to fully mediate the relationship between social media overload and technostress (β = 0,191; p = 0,008). These findings indicate that self-regulation transmits the effect of social media overload on technostress, suggesting that the level of self-regulation is a determining factor in technostress levels.

Abstract

The learning motivation of fourth-grade students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) remains relatively low, characterized by limited active participation, enthusiasm, and student engagement in the learning process. This condition highlights the need for implementing innovative learning models, one of which is Project Based Learning (PjBL). This study aimed to analyze the differences in learning motivation between students who learned using the Project Based Learning model and those who learned using conventional models, to measure the improvement in learning motivation through N-Gain analysis, and to examine the effect of Project Based Learning on the learning motivation of fourth-grade students in IPAS. This study employed a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental Design in the form of a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of two fourth-grade classes selected through purposive sampling, namely the experimental class and the control class. Data were collected using a Likert-scale learning motivation questionnaire and analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, paired sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The findings revealed a significant difference in learning motivation between the experimental and control classes. The implementation of Project Based Learning had a significant effect on students' learning motivation. Although the improvement based on the N-Gain value was in the low category, all students in the experimental class achieved high and very high motivation categories.
