Abstract

This study was motivated by low student learning outcomes in the Business Communication subject at SMKN 1 Cilimus and a learning process that was still dominated by conventional methods. The condition was reflected in limited student participation and difficulties in developing an in-depth understanding of learning materials. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Feynman learning method assisted by Educaplay on students’ learning outcomes in Business Communication, particularly business ethics material, at SMKN 1 Cilimus. The study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental design using a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The participants were 50 students consisting of 25 Grade XI students as the experimental group and 25 Grade XII students as the control group. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk normality testing, homogeneity testing, N-Gain analysis, and an Independent Samples t-Test. The mean N-Gain of the experimental group was 0.6452, categorized as moderate, while the control group obtained 0.0860, categorized as low. The Independent Samples t-Test produced t = 8.445, df = 48, significance = 0.000, and Mean Difference = 0.55756. Thus, the improvement in learning outcomes differed significantly between the two groups. The findings indicate that the Feynman learning method assisted by Educaplay was associated with higher learning outcome improvement in the Business Communication learning context at SMKN 1 Cilimus.

Abstract

Varel. 2026. “Optimization of Main Deck Maintenance to Minimize Corrosion on Board MT. SHIP 111”. Diploma III Nautical Studies Program, Politeknik Pelayaran Sumatera Barat. Supervisor I: Rizal Rochmansyah, S.S.T.Pel., M.Tr.T. and Super-visor II: Melda Yanti, M.Si.This study aims to examine the implementation of the main deck maintenance, identify the factors causing corrosion, and analyze efforts to optimize main deck maintenance to minimize corrosion on board MT. SHIP 111. This study employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants con-sisted of the Chief Officer, Bosun, and Able Seaman who were directly involved in main deck maintenance activities. Data analysis was conducted through data re-duction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of maintenance had been carried out through routine inspections, chipping, wire brushing, painting, and maintenance recordkeeping. However, its implementation was not yet optimal due to inconsistent completion of maintenance work through the finishing stage, as well as the high workload of ship operations, unfavorable weather conditions, and inadequate equipment and materials. The main factors causing corrosion on the main deck include exposure to seawater containing chloride ions, high humidity, environmental temperature, and damage to the protective coating. Efforts to optimize maintenance include consistent im-plementation of PMS, increased supervision of maintenance activities, provision of adequate equipment and materials, and proper painting procedures through the finishing stage.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of character education in the teaching of Islamic Religious Education and Moral Ethics (PAIBP) and its influence on the ethics of ninth-grade students at SMP Tahfidzul Qur'an Amanah. The research employed a quantitative causal-associative approach with an ex post facto design. The population and sample consisted of 43 students, determined through saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire, observation, and documentation, and were subsequently analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that the implementation of character education in PAIBP learning falls into the very high category (81.4%), while student ethics likewise fall into the very high category (81.8%). Hypothesis testing confirms a positive and significant influence between character education and student ethics, with a correlation coefficient of 0.745 (classified as strong) and a coefficient of determination of 55.5%, while the remaining 44.5% is attributed to factors beyond the scope of this study. These findings affirm that strengthening teacher exemplarity and habituating Qur'anic values within a boarding school environment contribute significantly to the formation of sound student ethics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of ballast water management systems on ships and their compliance with the provisions of the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments (BWM Convention) and MARPOL regulations. The data analysis used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were also collected from direct observations. The results indicate that compliance with IMO standards remains low. The main factors are officers' lack of understanding of BWE procedures, implementation that does not meet distance and depth requirements, and technical limitations such as the absence of a Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) and unstable ballast pump performance. These findings indicate a risk of pollution in the port area and limitations in ship operations. Visual documentation and E/R records support the inefficiency of the ballasting-deballasting process.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence in education raises questions about knowledge authority, learner autonomy, equitable access, and institutional accountability. This article develops a conceptual discussion of its opportunities and ethical challenges in Islamic education through a literature-based approach. The proposed analysis connects publications on AI in education, Islamic educational philosophy, maqasid al-shariah, and international AI ethics. Its central argument is that technological benefits should be evaluated against educational purposes. AI may support learning resources, feedback, and administrative tasks, while requiring safeguards against unreliable religious information, bias, excessive dependence, and inappropriate processing of learner data. The article proposes an institutional framework connecting religious knowledge verification, learner protection, intellectual autonomy, intergenerational responsibility, and resource accountability. This is a conceptual contribution requiring further examination, not an empirically validated model. Responsible adoption therefore depends on maintaining human educational authority, strengthening critical AI literacy, and establishing context-sensitive governance.

Abstract

His study aim to analyze the influence of demand and government policy on broiler chicken prices in Bukittinggi City. The study was motivated by the observation that broiler chicken prices in Bukittinggi City rose between 2020 and 2025, a period that also saw an increase in domestic production. This research employes a quantitative descriptive approach and utilizes secondary data sources. Data were obtained from merchant questionnaires, publications by BPS (Statistic Indonesian) Bukittinggi City, and Bapanas (National Food Agency),and Indonesian government policy regulation (specifically for regions outside Java). The data analysis methods used include validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression, the coefficient of determination test (R2), the F-test (simulation), and the t-test (partial). The result indicate that the F-test significance value is 0.013 which is less than 0.05 (0.013 < 0.05), this it can be concluded that demand (X1) and government policy (X2) have a significant influence on the dependent variable, broiler chicken prices (Y). The t-test shows a significance value of 0.613 for demand (X1) greater than 0.05 (0.613 > 0.05) meaning demand variable does not significantly affect broiler chicken prices (Y). Conversely, government policy (X2) shows a significance value of 0.005 less than 0.05 (0.005 < 0.05) indicating that the government policy variable has a significant influence on broiler chicken prices (Y).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of colonialism and identity dynamics in the novel Tanah Surga Merah written by Arafat Nur using a sociology of literature approach and postcolonial theory proposed by Homi K. Bhabha. The focus of this research is to identify the forms of hybridity, mimicry, and ambivalence represented in the narrative, characters, and social realities depicted in the novel. This research applies a qualitative descriptive method through textual analysis of relevant quotations from the novel. Data were collected by conducting intensive reading, identifying, classifying, and interpreting textual elements related to postcolonial concepts. The findings reveal that the novel represents the dynamics of Acehnese society in the post-conflict era, characterized by social, political, and cultural transformations. The concept of hybridity appears in the mixed identity of characters shaped by revolutionary ideals, conflict experiences, and new political realities. Mimicry is reflected in the behavior of characters and political elites who imitate previous power structures to gain legitimacy and maintain authority. Meanwhile, ambivalence is portrayed through the contradictory attitudes of characters and society, which oscillate between hope for social change and disappointment with persistent injustice, political rivalry, and social inequality. Therefore, the novel not only portrays individual experiences but also offers social criticism toward post-conflict society while revealing the complexity of identity within a postcolonial context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of the School Operational Assistance (BOS) fund management policy, identify challenges in its implementation, and examine the role of digitalization through the School Activity and Budget Plan Application (ARKAS) and the School Procurement Information System (SIPLah) in supporting financial accountability in schools. This study employed a literature review approach using a descriptive-qualitative method. Data were obtained from relevant academic articles and official documents and were analyzed thematically based on three main aspects: regulatory development, implementation challenges, and digitalization of financial governance. The findings indicate that the BOS policy has developed from an operational assistance program introduced in 2005 into a more structured and digitally supported School Operational Assistance Unit (BOSP) management system. However, its implementation continues to face challenges, including limited financial management competencies, low stakeholder participation, inadequate supervision, frequent regulatory changes, and disparities in digital infrastructure and literacy. ARKAS and SIPLah can support school financial planning, procurement, recording, and reporting in a more organized manner, but their effectiveness remains dependent on human resource capacity and adequate infrastructure. Therefore, strengthening the competence of financial managers, improving digital literacy, expanding digital infrastructure, and increasing participatory supervision are important steps to strengthen the effectiveness and accountability of BOS fund management.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low listening skills of students in Indonesian language learning. This study aimed to determine the implementation process of the storytelling method, students’ listening skills, and the effect of the storytelling method on the listening skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Rappocini. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of all fifth-grade students in classes VA and VB, totaling 48 students. The sample was determined using a saturated sampling technique, with class VA as the experimental class and class VB as the control class. Data were collected through observation and tests in the form of pretests and posttests. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with an Independent Samples t-test. The results showed that the implementation of the storytelling method was very good, with an average percentage of 93.75%. The listening skills of students in the experimental class increased from an average pretest score of 53.33 to 81.58 on the posttest, while the control class increased from 51.92 to 61.58. The results of the Independent Samples t-test showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of < 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Thus, there was a significant effect of implementing the storytelling method on the listening skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Rappocini. The storytelling method can be used as an alternative learning method in Indonesian language learning to improve elementary school students’ listening skills.
