Abstract

The snakes and ladders game is a valuable traditional method for teaching mathematics, especially for children at the elementary school level. The aim of this research is to evaluate how the snakes and ladders game can improve the mathematics learning experience and support students in mastering numbers more effectively. The method applied in this research is a literature review, which involves analyzing various articles from Google Scholar published between 2019 and 2023 by searching using the keywords "learning mathematics" and "game of snakes and ladders." This research focuses on assessing how the snakes and ladders game helps students understand mathematical concepts, improve their calculation skills, and develop critical, creative and collaborative thinking abilities.investigating the relationship between games and mathematics education, this study aims to find effective strategies in the process of teaching mathematics to elementary school students

Abstract

ABSTRACT Learning barriers often faced by students in lower grades of Elementary School are difficulties in beginning reading. This problem was also found in class IIA students of Kembaran State Elementary School, which was the main focus of this study. The purpose of this study was to provide a deeper understanding of the types of beginning reading difficulties experienced by students. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of the study consisted of 13 students who had difficulty reading, class IIA teachers, and 13 parents of the students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Data validity testing was carried out using the Miles Huberman model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that 13 students of class IIA of SD Negeri Kembaran had difficulty in beginning reading, which included: a) Difficulty in recognizing the alphabet, where 2 students did not recognize letters from A to Z, b) Difficulty in recognizing consonants, with 3 students only knowing a few consonants, c) Difficulty in reading diphthongs, where 4 students had difficulty pronouncing diphthongs or stuttered when reading them, d) Difficulty in reading words, where 4 students still spelled words when reading, e) Difficulty in reading sentences, where 13 students were not yet fluent in reading sentences. ABSTRAK Hambatan belajar yang kerap dihadapi oleh siswa di kelas rendah Sekolah Dasar adalah kesulitan dalam membaca permulaan. Masalah ini juga ditemukan pada siswa kelas IIA SD Negeri Kembaran, yang menjadi fokus utama dalam penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman lebih mendalam mengenai jenis-jenis kesulitan membaca permulaan yang dialami oleh siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 13 siswa yang mengalami kesulitan membaca, guru kelas IIA, dan 13 orangtua siswa tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Uji validitas data dilakukan dengan model Miles Huberman, yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 13 siswa kelas IIA SD Negeri Kembaran mengalami kesulitan membaca permulaan, yang meliputi: a) Kesulitan mengenal huruf alfabet, di mana 2 siswa tidak mengenal huruf dari A sampai Z, b) Kesulitan dalam mengenal huruf konsonan, dengan 3 siswa hanya mengetahui beberapa huruf konsonan, c) Kesulitan dalam membaca huruf diftong, di mana 4 siswa kesulitan mengucapkan huruf diftong atau terbata-bata saat membacanya, d) Kesulitan dalam membaca kata, di mana 4 siswa masih mengeja kata saat membaca, e) Kesulitan dalam membaca kalimat, di mana 13 siswa belum lancar dalam membaca kalimat.

Abstract

This study investigates the efficacy of the Canva program as an interactive learning tool and examines the difficulties fifth-grade elementary school pupils encounter in comprehending the Harmony in the Ecosystem theme. Because of the abstract nature of the relationships between its components, the ecosystem subject is sometimes seen as challenging. This difficulty is exacerbated by traditional teaching techniques and a dearth of interactive tools. Data were gathered through interviews and observations at a public elementary school in East Jakarta during the 2024–2025 school year using a qualitative descriptive method. The purpose of the study is to investigate how Canva's interactive and visual elements can enhance students' comprehension and learning motivation. The higher average posttest scores in the experimental group relative to the control group demonstrate that Canva considerably improves students' understanding of ecosystem subject. Canva also boosts students' motivation and involvement in the learning process. Despite challenges such as limited internet access and time constraints in preparing materials, these issues can be addressed by providing printed materials and utilizing available school devices. This study concludes that Canva is an effective and innovative tool for improving understanding of ecosystem concepts while fostering an engaging, participatory learning environment. The study recommends integrating Canva into elementary school learning as part of a technology-driven educational approach in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using Scratch media on the mastery of concepts of fourth grade students in the water cycle material. The study used a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design involving 30 students. The results showed a significant increase in the average student score from 28.3 (pretest) to 75.3 (posttest). Wilcoxon analysis showed a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05), which indicated that there was a positive effect of using scratch media on students' mastery of concepts in fourth grade. Scratch media effectively makes learning more interesting, interactive, and helps students understand abstract concepts more concretely.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how collaboration between students, educational institutions, government, and the community can increase the effectiveness and impact of community service activities at SMPN 12 Barru School, Dusun Watu, Libureng Village, Tanete Riaja District, Barru Regency. The research method used is Documentation Analysis, by collecting and analyzing documents related to student service programs, such as activity reports, evaluations, and documentation of previous activities. This aims to assess the extent to which the goals of the service have been achieved and their impact on the community. The results of the study indicate that the use of student community service activities has a significant impact on the social and economic welfare of the community, as well as providing valuable learning benefits for the students themselves. However, obstacles in the form of limited funds for operational activities, such as transportation, materials, and honorariums for teachers or facilitators, are often insufficient. In addition, the available funds are not always available on time, which can hinder program implementation. Thus, this article also highlights the challenges and opportunities in implementing effective community service, as well as how cross-sector collaboration can increase positive impacts on community welfare in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tentang pendidikan lingkungan hidup yang ada di sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang bersifat deskritif kualitatif. Tempat penelitian dilakukan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Pasirawi I Kota Karawang. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Pasirawi I menunjukan bahwa sekolah dasar sebagai tempat untuk mengajarkan Pendidikan lingkungan pada siswa untuk melatih kesadaran dan menumbuhkan hal-hal kecil mengenai lingkungan kepada siswa melalui kegiatan pembiasaan seperti yang dilakukan setiap satu kali dalam seminggu yaitu kegiatan jumsih.

Abstract

BISAMAKI (Learning English and Makassar Lontara Through Magic Cards) is an activity to improve students' understanding of English and Makassar Lontara. The Lontara script is a traditional script of the Makassar community. While the introduction of English is also needed because it is still taught in a number of schools in South Sulawesi as part of the local content. English is a foreign language that can help students compete in the global world in the future. This project aims to equip students with language skills for both global communication and local cultural preservation. The stages carried out in the implementation of this project are; 1) Conducting field surveys and socialization, 2) Conducting initial assessments, 3) Program Planning, 4) Developing Educational Materials, 5) Program Implementation, 6) Learning Evaluation. The results of this activity received a positive response from the residents of UPT SPF SDI Bontomanai, through the use of magic cards proven effective in creating interactive and enjoyable learning experiences. Active involvement during project activities is one of the keys to project success where students not only learn the language but are also actively involved in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penerapan model ProblemBased Learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII pada matapelajaran Biologi di SMP Muhammadiyah Kampung Baru. Metode penelitian yangdigunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam duasiklus. Setiap siklus melibatkan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, danrefleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata nilai siswa dari 75 padasiklus pertama menjadi 83,33 pada siklus kedua, dengan persentase ketuntasanbelajar meningkat dari 36% menjadi 82%. Selain itu, keaktifan siswa dalampembelajaran meningkat signifikan, terutama dalam hal diskusi kelompok danpartisipasi aktif. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa PBL efektif tidak hanya dalammeningkatkan hasil belajar, tetapi juga dalam mengasah keterampilan berpikir kritisdan kolaborasi siswa. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan model PBLdalam pembelajaran Biologi untuk menyampaikan konsep-konsep yang kompleksdan mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa.Kata Kunci: Problem Based Learning, Hasil Belajar, Pembelajaran Biologi,Keterlibatan Siswa, Pendidikan Inovatif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika dasar siswa kelas IV melalui pendekatan Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) di UPT SPF SD Inpres Balang Boddong. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini menggunakan model Kemmis dan McTaggart, dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 17 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes pemahaman konsep, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang signifikan, dengan nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat dari 65,3 pada pretes menjadi 82,5 pada siklus II. Ketuntasan klasikal meningkat dari 41,2% menjadi 88,2%, melampaui target minimal 80%. Penerapan TPACK melalui penggunaan berbagai perangkat digital seperti penggunaan aplikasi pembelajaran interaktif untuk memvisualisasikan proses operasi hitung, Quizizz, dan Google Classroom, yang dipadukan dengan strategi pembelajaran kolaboratif dan pendampingan individu, berhasil meningkatkan seluruh indikator pemahaman konsep. Peningkatan terjadi pada kemampuan operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan (85,3%), kemampuan operasi perkalian (88,2%), kemampuan operasi pembagian (91,2%), dan pemecahan masalah (82,4%). Penelitian ini membuktikan efektivitas pendekatan TPACK dalam mengubah pembelajaran matematika menjadi lebih interaktif dan bermakna, sekaligus memberikan landasan bagi pengembangan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi pada jenjang sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the activities and learning outcomes of HOTS fifth grade students at SDN 15 Kapalokoto Kec. Sungaipua is still low. It can be seen that many students are less enthusiastic in learning. This research was conducted on class students of SDN 15 Kapalokoto Kec. Sungaipua Academic Year 2022/2023. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of HOTS-based learning using the problem-based learning model for elementary school students. The design or experimental research design used is the Randomized Control Group Only design with the research method using quasi-experimental. The research subjects were fifth grade students at SDN 15 Kapalokoto Kec. Sungaipua with a total of 40 people. The results showed that the effectiveness of HOTS-based learning using the PBL model increased more compared to conventional learning. Thus it can be concluded that the results of HOTS-based learning in class V students at SDN 15 Kapalokoto Kec. Sungaipua, can increase effectively, by using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model.
