Abstract

This study examines the classroom assessment paradigm from the perspective of educational legislation in Indonesia, focusing on policy changes and their implementation in the context of the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum. The method used is literature review (library research), analyzing various regulations, policy documents, and relevant previous studies. The results indicate that the classroom assessment paradigm in Indonesia has shifted from final exam-based assessments to more holistic and continuous assessments, encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Authentic assessment, which measures students' skills in real-world situations through various methods such as project tasks and portfolios, has become the main principle in the new assessment policy. However, significant challenges remain in implementation, particularly regarding the limited understanding and skills of teachers in developing assessment instruments that align with these principles. The implications of this study highlight the importance of developing teachers' capacity through ongoing training to enable them to implement competency-based assessments that comply with existing regulations. Furthermore, the synergy between educational policy and field practices is crucial in realizing a more equitable, objective, and effective assessment system to support the improvement of education quality in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the fundamental concepts and principles of assessment in learning based on the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes an inclusive, adaptive approach that caters to the diversity of students. In the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, assessment functions not only as a tool for measuring learning outcomes but also as an integral part of the learning process that supports the development of students' competencies and character. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach, reviewing various sources related to assessment, the Merdeka Curriculum policy, and relevant assessment practices. The results of the study indicate that assessments within the Merdeka Curriculum integrate various types of assessments, such as formative, summative, diagnostic, and authentic, aimed at evaluating students' development holistically. The principles of assessment in the Merdeka Curriculum include fairness, diversity, and adaptation to students' characteristics, enabling a more comprehensive evaluation of students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities. A key challenge identified is the readiness of teachers to implement more diverse and complex assessments, considering the increased administrative burden and insufficient training. The implications of this study highlight the importance of ongoing teacher training to enhance their ability to design and implement assessments that align with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to examine effective science learning approaches in fostering scientific attitudes and social character in elementary school students. The method used is literature review (library research) by analyzing various sources related to science education, development of scientific attitudes, and social character. Based on the analysis, it was found that Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approaches are effective in developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and student collaboration. These approaches provide students with the opportunity to engage directly in experiments and group discussions that are relevant to everyday life. Additionally, the integration of scientific attitude and social character development in science education is essential to shape students who possess not only high cognitive abilities but also good social skills, such as communication, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility. The implications of this research highlight the importance of teachers' roles in designing and managing lessons that focus not only on academic competencies but also on the development of social character and scientific attitudes. Learning that integrates scientific experiments and social collaboration is expected to create students who are prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century. A balanced approach between individual and collaborative activities needs to be carefully managed to optimally support the development of scientific attitudes and social character.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between social skills and learning difficulties in elementary school children from the perspective of educational psychology through a literature review method. The findings indicate that well-developed social skills play a crucial role in enhancing children’s communication abilities, motivation, and active participation in the learning process. Conversely, underdeveloped social skills often contribute to social isolation, anxiety, and emotional barriers that exacerbate learning difficulties. Educational psychology-based interventions focusing on social skills development, such as social-emotional learning and group-based methods, have proven effective in addressing these issues. Therefore, integrating social skills development programs into the elementary school curriculum and fostering collaboration among teachers, parents, and educational psychologists are essential to support children’s holistic learning success.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the learning outcomes of Indonesian language among Grade X-9 students at SMA Negeri 13 Medan through the implementation of the cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament (TGT). The problem addressed was the low academic performance and lack of active participation among students during the learning process. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The instruments used included observation sheets for teacher and student activities, as well as learning outcome tests. The results showed that the implementation of the TGT model significantly improved students' learning outcomes. The percentage of mastery learning increased from 35.29% in the first cycle to 88.23% in the second cycle. Students' learning activities also improved from a moderately active to a highly active category. Therefore, the TGT cooperative learning model proved to be effective in enhancing both students' academic achievement and engagement in Indonesian language learning. This study recommends the use of the TGT model as an engaging and participatory instructional strategy.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of cultural diversity material through the use of quartet card game media in class V SDN 064976 Medan Tembung. The method used was the Classroom Action Research model Kemmis and McTaggart, which was carried out in three cycles. Each cycle consists of stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitative and quantitative. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding. Learning completeness increased from 9.5% in the pre- cycle to 90.5% in cycle III, and the class average score increased from 41.71 to 94. Using quartet card media effectively increased active participation, enthusiasm, and student learning outcomes. Thus, quartet media can be a fun and meaningful learning alternative in learning Civics, especially cultural diversity material.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning outcomes in Indonesian language subjects through the application of digital learning media Quizizz. The background of the study is based on the low interest and learning outcomes of students in Indonesian language subjects which are considered boring. Quizizz, as an interactive game-based platform, is used to create a fun learning atmosphere and in accordance with the characteristics of the current digital generation. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with 35 students of class X of SMA Negeri 2 Medan as subjects. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, pre-test, learning with Quizizz, and post-test. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes after using the Quizizz media, with an average score increasing from 59 (pre-test) to 88 (post-test). Thus, the use of Quizizz media has proven effective in increasing student motivation and learning outcomes in Indonesian language lessons.

Abstract

Pendidikan modern menghadapi tantangan kompleks dalam memenuhi kebutuhan peserta didik yang beragam. Integrasi konsep dasar psikologi dalam praktik pendidikan menjadi krusial untuk memahami dinamika belajar dan perkembangan individu. Psikologi pendidikan, sebagai cabang ilmu yang mempelajari perilaku manusia dalam konteks pendidikan, menawarkan kerangka kerja untuk merancang strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dan berpusat pada peserta didik. Artikel ini membahas pentingnya integrasi konsep dasar psikologi dalam pendidikan modern untuk meningkatkan pemahaman diri dan efektivitas pembelajaran. Dengan mengkaji literatur terkait, artikel ini menyoroti peran psikologi pendidikan dalam memahami proses belajar, motivasi, dan perkembangan individu. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan prinsip-prinsip psikologi dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih adaptif dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah kajian literatur dengan menganalisis berbagai sumber ilmiah yang relevan. Analisis dilakukan secara kualitatif untuk mengidentifikasi tema-tema utama dan implikasinya dalam konteks pendidikan modern. Dengan memahami prinsip-prinsip psikologi, pendidik dapat merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan peserta didik. Hal ini akan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung perkembangan individu secara holistik. asesmen abad 21 bukan hanya alat untuk mengukur nilai, melainkan sarana untuk menakar dan mengembangkan kompetensi peserta didik secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve learning outcomes through the application of Wordwall media in the Indonesian language subject for Grade V of elementary school. The research was conducted at SDN 2 Watubelah during the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year over two cycles, each consisting of one meeting. Each cycle included four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. In this action, Wordwall media was used in the learning process. Data was collected through students’ learning outcomes.The results from the pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II showed a significant improvement in both the learning process and students' learning outcomes. Before the action was taken, in the pre-cycle, the percentage of students meeting the minimum mastery criteria was 52%. After the implementation of Wordwall media, in Cycle I, the percentage increased to 63%, and in Cycle II, it rose significantly to 89%.This improvement indicates that Wordwall media is effective in enhancing students' learning outcomes. In conclusion, the implementation of Wordwall media in Grade V at SDN 2 Watubelah successfully improved students’ learning outcomes significantly, as shown by the data from each cycle.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategy of principals, teachers, in the character formation of students in primary schools. The research approach used is qualitative with case study type. The research instrument is the researcher himself. Data collection using in-depth interviews, participant observation and documentation. Research respondents are snow-ball. Data analysis technique using Creswell model (2014). Validity of data used criteria of credibility, transferability, dependability, and komfirmabilitas. The conclusion of the research is the principal's strategy in shaping the character of the students with the philosophy of leadership, exemplary, discipline, instructional leadership, quality leadership, as well as teacher empowerment and education. Teacher strategy is exemplary, habituation, and touch of heart. Parent and community strategies are effective communication and effective partnerships.
