Abstract

Tropical Cyclone Seroja, which struck East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in April 2021, was one of Indonesia's most significant hydrometeorological disasters, causing extensive social, economic, and environmental impacts. This study aims to examine the disaster's impacts, identify lessons learned from its management, and analyze their implications for future disaster mitigation efforts. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing scientific journals, government reports, and official documents published between 2021 and 2026. The findings reveal that Tropical Cyclone Seroja resulted in 182 fatalities, 47 missing persons, thousands of displaced residents, and severe damage to infrastructure, agricultural land, and public facilities. The study also found that the early warning system was not fully effective due to weak coordination, limited public awareness, and insufficient institutional capacity. Therefore, strengthening community-based early warning systems, enhancing the capacity of disaster-resilient villages, implementing structural and non-structural mitigation measures, and promoting pentahelix collaboration that integrates modern technology with local wisdom are essential to reduce future disaster risks.

Abstract

Misconceptions regarding energy concepts remain a challenge in elementary science and social studies (IPAS) learning because they can hinder students’ conceptual understanding. This study aimed to identify fifth-grade students’ misconceptions about energy concepts using the Four-Tier Diagnostic Test. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method involving 41 fifth-grade students from SD Negeri Jipang 01 and SD Negeri Jipang 02. Data were collected through a diagnostic test consisting of 20 items and analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of percentages. The results showed that 57.07% of students demonstrated conceptual understanding, 21.34% experienced misconceptions, 16.83% lacked conceptual understanding, and 4.76% were categorized as errors. The highest level of misconception was found in the sub-concepts of alternative energy (46.34%) and renewable energy (41.46%), while the highest level of conceptual understanding was identified in the sub-concept of energy sources (71.95%). These findings indicate that misconceptions are still present in several energy sub-concepts, highlighting the need for instructional approaches that strengthen students’ conceptual understanding. The Four-Tier Diagnostic Test proved effective in identifying students’ misconceptions and can be used as a basis for improving instructional practices.

Abstract

This study examines the legal protection afforded to Koperasi Serba Usaha (KSU) Perempuan Berkat against losses resulting from non-performing loans from a civil law perspective. The research employs an empirical legal method with a qualitative approach conducted at KSU Perempuan Berkat in Fatufeto Village, Alak District, Kupang City. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and literature review involving cooperative administrators, members with non-performing loans, and representatives from the Cooperative Office. The findings indicate that non-performing loans are primarily caused by factors related to character, capacity, capital, and economic conditions of members, while collateral has generally been fulfilled as a loan security requirement. Legal protection for the cooperative is implemented through preventive measures, including the application of the 5C principle, supervision, member education, and collateral requirements, as well as repressive measures such as warning letters, loan renegotiation, and loan restructuring. However, the implementation of legal protection has not been optimal because the cooperative prioritizes a familial approach over formal legal actions. Therefore, strengthening prudential principles and consistent law enforcement is necessary to minimize losses arising from non-performing loans and ensure the sustainability of cooperative operations.

Abstract

The development of students' disciplinary character is one of the primary goals of elementary education to foster obedience to rules, responsibility, and orderly behavior. However, various forms of undisciplined behavior are still found among students, indicating the need for an effective character habituation program. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children Program in developing students' disciplinary character and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation at SD Negeri 104251 Karang Anyar. This study employed a qualitative research design with a case study approach. The research informants consisted of the principal, the Grade IV-B classroom teacher, and Grade IV-B students. Data were collected through passive participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children Program was systematically implemented through daily and weekly habituation activities integrated into school routines. The program contributed to the development of students' disciplinary character, particularly in time discipline, religious discipline, learning discipline, and social discipline. Supporting factors included the commitment of the principal and teachers, adequate school facilities, students' active participation, structured habituation programs, and communication with parents. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included inconsistent student behavior, limited parental supervision at home, and unequal parental support. Therefore, the program has positively contributed to strengthening students' disciplinary character and should be reinforced through sustainable collaboration between schools and families to maximize its effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal how the transformation of artificial intelligence-based da'wah communication has taken place optimally at the research site, as well as to examine the role of artificial intelligence in transforming Islamic education media and its implications for the authenticity of Islamic values. This research is important because a gap exists between the field's near-optimal outcomes and theoretical perspectives that emphasize various ethical and structural challenges in integrating AI into da'wah and Islamic education. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach, employing observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that the success of da'wah transformation is supported by technological readiness, human resource preparedness, and institutional support, while preachers (da'i) remain in control of the substance of the message. In Islamic education, artificial intelligence has enhanced efficiency and learning motivation, yet educators consciously limit the technology's role to technical aspects, thereby preserving spiritual value formation. These findings confirm that user wisdom is the decisive factor in successfully integrating AI without reducing Islamic values.

Abstract

Higher education institutions are required to integrate 21st-century skills into their curricula so that graduates are prepared to meet the demands of the workforce. However, theoretically, this process ideally requires a complex institutional transformation that cannot be achieved instantly, whereas conditions at the research site actually show achievements that are nearly optimal. This gap underlies the present study, which aims to explore the strategies and implementation patterns of integrating 21st-century skills into the curriculum, as well as to identify the factors that support their success. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis technique, strengthened by source triangulation. The results show that successful integration was achieved through alignment between curriculum planning, the implementation of project-based and problem-based learning, and a sustainable authentic evaluation system. This success was underpinned by four synergistic factors: lecturers' readiness, institutional facility support, active student engagement, and a consistent feedback mechanism. These findings confirm that the integration of 21st-century skills is not the result of a single factor but rather an integrated learning ecosystem, while also contributing to the achievement of SDG 4 and SDG 8.

Abstract

This study explores the philosophical and theological foundations of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) in strengthening character education from the perspectives of teachers and students. Using a qualitative approach with interview methods involving 8 teachers and 16 students from elementary schools in Sorong, this research aims to understand how philosophical and theological values of Islam are integrated into character education practices. The results show that teachers and students view PAI as fundamental in forming good character traits aligned with Islamic values. The philosophical foundation emphasizes the holistic development of human personality, while the theological foundation roots character education in divine values. Both perspectives recognize the importance of integrating Islamic teachings with character education to create morally responsible individuals. This study contributes to understanding the implementation of character education through the lens of Islamic philosophy and theology.

Abstract

Abstract The rapid advancement of digital technology has created various forms of digital assets with significant economic value, including digital wallets, cryptocurrencies, monetized social media accounts, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and cloud-based digital storage. This development has raised legal challenges because Islamic inheritance law has not explicitly regulated the inheritance mechanism for digital assets. This study aims to analyze the transformation of Islamic inheritance law concerning digital asset ownership through the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah. This research employs a normative legal method using conceptual, statutory, and Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah approaches. Data were collected through library research involving the Qur'an, Hadith, the Indonesian Compilation of Islamic Law, statutory regulations, academic literature, and previous studies. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques. The findings indicate that digital assets fulfill the concept of māl (property) in Islamic law and therefore may become inheritable property when legal ownership can be established. The principles of Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah, particularly ḥifẓ al-māl (protection of property), provide a normative foundation for reconstructing Islamic inheritance law to ensure legal certainty, justice, and public benefit in the transfer of digital assets in the digital era.
