Abstract

Financial management is the process of planning, organizing, controlling, and monitoring the financial resources of a business or organization to achieve predetermined goals. In the context of MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), including batik MSMEs such as those in Pringrejo Village, financial management is very important so that businesses can run healthily, efficiently, and develop sustainably. The purpose of this community service is to improve the understanding of PKK members about the basics of entrepreneurship, improve household and business financial management skills and foster an entrepreneurial spirit and economic independence. MSME groups consisting of several business actors still face a number of obstacles, one of which is the lack of understanding in managing finances and recording bookkeeping properly. This community service activity aims to increase the economic capacity of the group through assistance in financial management and bookkeeping. The methods used include assistance and capacity building with a training and advocacy approach. The target number of participants is 35 MSME actors and the training is carried out for 1 day, assistance for 1 month. The results are that business actors who are members of the MSME group have a better understanding and are more proficient in their accounting records.

Abstract

The business world in Indonesia is developing rapidly, especially in the export-import sector and the industrial economy. Entrepreneurs play a vital role in the national economy, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) functions as a companion organization to support the development of these businesses. The need to understand promotional techniques and business innovation is the main obstacle for entrepreneurs in Semarang. To overcome this challenge, the use of digital technology is a relevant solution. Therefore, the Japanese Language Education Study Program at Semarang State University collaborates with Human Kagawa Ring Cooperative Japan to provide an understanding of digital innovation in the business world. This community service activity carried out digital innovation training aimed at increasing the understanding of entrepreneurs in Semarang regarding technology that supports industrial activities. This one-day training also involves collecting data through questionnaires and interviews, which will be evaluated to support entrepreneurial development through digitalization. Based on the pre-test and post-test results, 40% of the participants were initially in the "less than" category, indicating an initial limitation in understanding digitalization. After the training, however, no participants were in the "below average" category, proving that the training method successfully raised the level of understanding of all participants.

Abstract

Earthquakes are a serious threat in Indonesia that threaten lives, causing fatalities. The 2006 Bantul earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale rocked the Yogyakarta and Central Java regions with 19,202 fatalities. In emergency situations, triage knowledge and skills are very important, but the Padukuhan Rogoitan area has never received disaster triage training or simulation. The aim of this research aims to determine the effect of triage simulation on triage skills in dealing with disasters in youth organizations. The method used is a simulation method of carrying out independent triage by youth organizations involving 30 members of the Padukuhan Rogoitan Youth Organization, Pendowoharajo District. Using the Wilcoxon test. The results show that before the simulation, 73.3% of respondents were in the "Quite Skilled" category, while after the simulation, 86.7% of respondents managed to reach the "Very Skilled" category. The Wilcoxon test shows a significance value of 0.000. Triage simulation needs to be integrated into the youth organization's routine training program.

Abstract

Coastal abrasion in Purnama Sub-district, Dumai City, Riau Province is considered severe, with erosion exceeding 3 meters per year. This situation calls for urgent mangrove rehabilitation as an ecological mitigation effort. This community service activity involved 100 students from Dumai Fisheries Vocational High School, along with lecturers and students from the Belukap Mangrove Club (BMC), Department of Marine Science, University of Riau. The program consisted of two stages: classroom-based education on mangrove ecosystem functions, coastal conservation, and planting techniques; followed by the planting of 500 Rhizophora apiculata seedlings in the Purnama Mangrove Forest. From the evaluation results showed an increase in students' average knowledge scores over 25.7%. Participation was also high: 100% attendance and documentation, 85% engagement in discussions, and 95% in the planting activity. Students expressed positive perceptions, particularly regarding the hands-on learning experience and their increased understanding of mangrove importance. These results suggest that combining environmental education with field practice effectively enhances awareness and builds students’ capacity in coastal conservation. Collaboration among academics, vocational schools, communities, and local government was a key factor in the program’s success and offers a replicable model for similar initiatives. This program supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 and 13, focusing on quality education and climate change adaptation.

Abstract

The transformation of higher education in Indonesia through the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy has encouraged stronger integration between academic learning and real-world practice in the community, one of which is through the Teaching Assistance program. This article describes the strategic role of DPL or Field Supervisors in guiding students during the implementation of the Teaching Assistance Program at SMAN 19 Pekanbaru during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. A descriptive-qualitative approach was used to explore the contributions of DPL as pedagogical facilitators, reflective evaluators, institutional liaisons, enhancers of soft skills and professionalism, and integrators of technology use for students. The data collection methods employed in this study included observation, interviews, documentation, guidance notes, and reflections throughout the program. The research findings indicate that the presence of DPL significantly contributes to strengthening students' pedagogical competencies, shaping professional character, and bridging communication between universities and partner schools. In addition to positively impacting the quality of student learning, this program also supports the optimal use of technology and active learning in schools. The research findings also emphasize that the success of the MBKM program implementation heavily depends on the synergy between students, DPL, and school stakeholders, as well as the active involvement of DPL in all stages of the activity.

Abstract

The damage caused by earthquakes can be minimized by planning and constructing earthquake-resistant buildings. In efforts to mitigate earthquake risk, residential houses must be built with earthquake reinforcement, by adding seismic reinforcement to structural components (foundations, beams, columns) and non-structural components (walls, roofs). The addition of earthquake reinforcement features to housing only adds 5% to the total implementation cost, which is very small compared to the risks that will be faced. The earthquake reinforcement features are applied based on the Technical Guidelines for Earthquake Resistant Houses and Buildings (Directorate General of Cipta Karya and the Department of Public Works) number 5 of 2006, SNI 1726-2019 regarding Procedures for Earthquake Resistance Planning for Building Structures and Non-Building Structures, as well as SNI 1727:2020 regarding minimum design loads and related criteria for buildings and other structures. With the knowledge and skills acquired, it is hoped that the partners will be able to directly apply them to the houses they will build as an effort to mitigate earthquakes and minimize risks and losses that may occur. The objectives to be achieved from this community service activity are: partners to understand the features of earthquake reinforcement in residential homes; partners to acquire skills and training in the methods of creating earthquake-safe dwellings; partners to apply this in the housing they build. The method to be employed in this activity will include field surveys, counseling/socialization, and technical training for the application of earthquake reinforcement on structural components (foundations, beams, columns) and non-structural components (walls, roofs). This activity was attended by 13 participants, with the success identified based on the level of understanding absorbed during the socialization in the discussion session.
