Abstract

The availability of oil palm empty fruit bunches in Indonesia could be an important source of biomass to be utilized as a solid fuel feedstock. In this work, the thermal behavior and degradation of oil palm emty fruit bunches was investigated with a thermogravimetric analyzer in nitrogen atmosphere. The samples were heated from room temperature to 900 oC at heating rates of 20 oC min-1. The ultimate and proximate analysis revealed that oil palm empty fruit bunches contains high volatile matter, fixed carbon and ash content while the caliric value was 17.87 MJ/kg. Thermogravic analysis results indicated thermal degradation of samples occurs in three stages, namely drying and evaporation, active degradation and passive degradation. In addition, active degradation commenced at 148 oC with a peak of degradation temperature of 322.5 oC resulting in 68.32% weight loss.

Abstract

Strategi pemasaran digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kelompok pelanggan yang memiliki kebutuhan dengan mengikuti era industri 4.0. PT. Pandawa Satria Nusantara Pekanbaru bergerak di bidang jasa layanan keamanan ingin menetapkan strategi pemasaran yang tepat. Strategi ini diperlukan karena banyaknya proposal penolakan yang diajukan ke pengguna dikarenakan pemutusan kontrak kerja yang secara sepihak dan terdapat persaingan yang memiliki brand lebih besar. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi untuk mengidentifikasi faktor SWOT dan melakukan penyebaran kuesioner kepada 18 responden. Pengolahan data menggunakan metode IFAS dan EFAS untuk mengetahui pengaruh hubungan antar faktor. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah analisis SWOT pada kuadran satu yang merupakan strategi yang agresif. Strategi ini menggunakan strengths dengan memanfaatkan opportunities yang ada (SO). Strategi ini terdapat 5 alternatif solusi temtamg kualitas SDM, peralatan yang lengkap, kualitas pelayanan, jaminan kontrak Kerjasama dan pelatihan kemampuan keamanan.

Abstract

A good coal mining process is assessed by productivity and efficiency. Productivity can also be increased by using heavy equipment accompanied by competent operators. As one of the largest coal mining companies in Indonesia, PT Bukit Asam, Tbk is required to always be at the best performance, including at the heavy equipment operator level. This research aims to determine the factors of heavy equipment use as assessed by cycle time on coal productivity. Productivity is limited to the overburden loading process by the Komatsu PC3000SE excavator at PIT 2 Swakelola Tambang Banko Barat. The greatest productivity obtained was 1099 m3 per hour and the average percent productivity was 79.4%. In this research, a match factor of 0.8 was also obtained as a basis for further research that needs to be carried out to optimize the overburden loading and dumping process for PT Bukit Asam

Abstract

Kegagalan pengereman atau rem blong merupakan penyebab umum kecelakaan yang sering terjadi. Muatan berlebih (overloading) dan temperatur tromol yang tinggi (overheating) sering dicurigai sebagai pemicu utama kegagalan pengereman. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada pengaruh muatan sumbu roda dan temperatur tromol terhadap efisiensi sistem pengereman pada mobil Toyota Avanza. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan variasi tromol standar dan tromol yang telah dimodifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam pengujian pengereman, temperatur pada tromol yang telah dimodifikasi menggunakan pendingin air lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan tromol konvensional, dengan perbedaan mencapai 30%. Perbedaan temperatur semakin signifikan ketika temperatur kerja rem mencapai di atas 100°C. Tromol water cooler brake bekerja dengan efektif untuk menahan peningkatan temperatur rem dengan cara menyebarkan panas dari kampas rem ke sirip-sirip tromol melalui perantara air pendingin. Penggunaan cairan pendingin berupa air biasa atau radiator kurang efektif karena rentan mengalami penurunan cepat akibat penguapan. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang peningkatan efisiensi pengereman melalui modifikasi tromol dengan pendingin air, yang dapat menjadi solusi untuk mengurangi risiko kegagalan pengereman akibat muatan berlebih dan temperatur tromol yang tinggi.

Abstract

Service is the main indicator of the sustainability of a service. The quality of services is the main factor that must be considered in maintaining the existence and competition of services, including health facility services. This research was conducted at one of the health service providers in the city of Batam. One aspect of health service quality is queuing service. Therefore, the quality of service in the queuing system in health facilities is an interesting thing to research. This research measures the level of optimality of the queuing system currently in effect at the Saffira Mitra Medika clinic. The measurement focuses on service time, the number of patients served, and the waiting time for patients to be served in the queue system. The results of measuring the current queuing system are compared with other proposed queuing system scenarios, so that the level of patient satisfaction as customers is met. The proposed queuing system was obtained through a simulation approach, with the help of Flexsim software. A simulation approach was chosen to facilitate modeling in the proposed queuing system

Abstract

Batam City offers attractive investment opportunities with optimistic economic growth projections of up to 7.08% in 2024, driven by key sectors such as industry, construction, trade and tourism, supported by infrastructure and government pro-business policies. Changes in people's lifestyles, including the demand for culinary variety, have created opportunities for fast food businesses, especially the popular fried chicken. Culinary tourism in SP Batam attracts tourists. Financial analysis shows that investment in the Ayam Geprek Sambal Lesung Paradisa MSME is feasible and profitable, with an internal rate of return of 9.5%, a 7 month Payback Period, and a multi-product Break Even Point, indicating an attractive business opportunity for entrepreneurs

Abstract

Counter conveyor merupakan alat yang digunakan untuk menghitung suatu objek seperti hasil produksi keripik talas. Pada poses produksi keripik talas permasalahan yang sering terjadi adalah lupa ketika menghitung jumlah hasil produksi. Ketika hasil produksi dilakukan penghitungan biasanya sering terjadi kesalahan penghitungan sehingga menyababkan penghitungan jadi berulang kali.Hal ini menyebabkan hasil produksi lambat disalurkan ke konsumen. Dari permasalahan tersebut, maka dibuatlah solusi dengan membuat alat penghitung otomatis yang dilengkapi dengan conveyor dengan teknik counter menggunakan sensor ultrasonic HC-SR04 sebagai pendeteksi objek yang melewati sensor, NodeMCU ESP826 berfungsi sebagai otak dari proses utama system, dan LCD 16x2 sebagai media tampilan hasil perhitungan produksi keripik talas dan juga dilengkapi dengan sistem IOT (Internet Of Thing) yang mana untuk mentranfer data hitungan ke smartphone atau komputer melalui jaringan. Dengan diterapkannya rancang bangun counter conveyor ini, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya dapat mempermudah perhitungan secara real dan realtime.

Abstract

The appearance of attractive packaging in a product is something that is a major factor apart from product quality. UMKM Keripik Singkong Usaho still have problems with product packaging which is still simple using ordinary plastic without any labeling. So that research and packaging design are needed using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method. The results of the study obtained 18 items that become consumer criteria for the packaging of chips products. The results of the House of Quality show that the greatest desire value of consumers (0.07) for the design of chip packaging is an attractive packaging shape (A1), displaying the expiration date (A7), listing the composition (A10), including the halal logo (A11), packaging materials resistant to oil and water (A12), and the position of the product logo is easy to read (A17). So that the technical criteria are variations in packaging color, variations in writing color, variants of packaging materials, and variants of packaging shapes. The proposed packaging design for the chips has two models, red packaging color for the spicy flavor and green packaging color for the original flavor, where each package includes the expiration date, product composition, and halal logo.

Abstract

CV Jilbab Surabaya is a company that makes and sells rectangular hijabs, Pashmina hijabs, Bergo hijabs, and others. The storage warehouse has dimensions of 17 m long, 8 m wide and 6 m high. Knowing how to prepare the proposed layout using the class based storage method, knowing the product arrangement time, and knowing the shelf investment and labor using flexsim simulation. This research work activity was carried out for 4 months starting from October 1 2023 to January 31 2024. From the results of ABC classification processing on 20 types of hijab products in finished goods storage at CV Jilbab Surabaya: class A 68.92%, 26 products, class B 14.72%, 8 products, and class C 16.09%, 11 products. In the proposed layout using flexsim, it was found that the average waiting time for the three employees was 7.07 seconds with items arranged neatly using the class based storage method.
