Abstract

Learning media is a link between teachers and students. Through learning media, teachers are facilitated in delivering lesson materials so that students can understand the lesson more easily and quickly. Learning media can be in visuals, audiovisuals, and physical forms such as educational games, question cards, and teaching aids. This study aimed to determine the results of implementing the learning media product "Mobile Legends Edu Strategy" in the IPS subject for class IX (Phase D), which discusses globalization. To the study's objectives, this research was designed as research and development (R&D). The development model used is ADDIE. The implementation trial was conducted on 30 students in grade IX (Phase D) of SMPN 19 Malang. This study aims to determine the results of the implementation of the "Mobile Legends Edu Strategy" learning media in the subject of social studies on globalization material. Data were collected through media expert assessment sheets, class teacher assessment questionnaires as material experts, student learning test results as quantitative data, and interviews with teachers and students as qualitative data. The techniques used in the collection included questionnaires and documentation. The discussion shows that the "Mobile Legends Edu Strategy" learning media has proven feasible and effective in improving the social studies learning process, with an 88% eligibility level. The aspect of media appeal obtained 89%, the aspect of media ease 80%, and the element of material suitability 85%. This media was also evaluated to improve the clarity of the display, expand the question bank, add learning resources and instructions for globalization material, and motivate students to learn and present an exciting learning experience. In conclusion, using the "Mobile Legends Edu Strategy" learning media positively impacts students' motivation to participate in learning and understanding related to globalization material. This media increases understanding and the desire to learn together or individually.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of the Kiai Ageng Muhammad Besari grave pilgrimage tradition on fostering humanistic and spiritual attitudes among students at SDN 2 Ngrupit Ponorogo. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with phenomenological paradigm, the research involved 25 students from grades V-VI, 5 teachers, 3 community leaders, and 2 grave caretakers through participant observation and semi-structured in-depth interviews. Results indicate that 78% of students experienced increased empathy, tolerance, and self-reflection after consistently participating in pilgrimage traditions. Findings reveal that pilgrimage functions not merely as a religious ritual but also as an effective character education medium bridging historical knowledge, spiritual introspection, and humanistic values. The study concludes that integrating pilgrimage traditions into educational curriculum contributes holistically to developing students' moral character and responsiveness to humanitarian values as well as local cultural heritage.   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi dampak tradisi ziarah makam Kiai Ageng Muhammad Besari terhadap pembentukan sikap humanis dan spiritualis siswa SDN 2 Ngrupit Ponorogo. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan paradigma fenomenologi, penelitian melibatkan 25 siswa kelas V-VI, 5 guru, 3 tokoh masyarakat, dan 2 pengurus makam melalui observasi partisipan dan wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur. Hasil menunjukkan 78% siswa mengalami peningkatan empati, toleransi, dan refleksi diri setelah mengikuti tradisi ziarah secara konsisten. Temuan mengungkap bahwa ziarah tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai ritual keagamaan, tetapi juga sebagai wahana pendidikan karakter yang efektif dalam menjembatani pengetahuan sejarah, introspeksi spiritual, dan nilai-nilai humanis. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi tradisi ziarah dalam kurikulum pendidikan berkontribusi holistik terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa yang bermoral dan responsif terhadap nilai-nilai kemanusiaan serta warisan budaya lokal.

Abstract

Reyog Ponorogo is a cultural heritage that has become a regional icon and faces challenges in the modern era. Difficulties in raw materials, capital, human resources, and a lack of government support are the problems encountered. This study aims to analyze the management of the Suromenggolo Business's business strategy to preserve Reyog Ponorogo's culture and identify the obstacles and solutions faced. The research method used is qualitative with a field study approach, involving interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The study results show that Suromenggolo Business implements strategic management through environmental observation (internal and external factors), strategy formulation using SWOT analysis, and implementation of market penetration strategies. The main obstacles include limited capital, raw materials, low cooperation between artisans, seasonal sales, and the regeneration of artisans. The solutions involve finding funding, product diversification, optimizing the role of cooperatives and Reyog foundations, and education and regeneration efforts through formal and non-formal institutions. The conclusion of this study shows that the strategy implemented is quite effective in maintaining the existence of Reyog Ponorogo, but requires further support from the government and the community.

Abstract

In social studies learning in class IX, there are students who experience learning boredom, many students sleep during lessons and make noise in class. This is because teachers use lecture methods too much, teacher-based learning, and lack of varied learning media. The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts of social studies teachers in overcoming learning boredom through domino aurora learning media in class IX at SMPN 19 Malang. The research method used is qualitative with a case study type. The results of the study stated that domino aurora learning media is able to overcome student boredom, this can be seen from the absence of students who are sleepy during class hours. The inhibiting factors for this media are that students must have sufficient literacy skills and be able to be careful in arranging cards. While the supporting factors for domino aurora media are cooperation between group members, being able to overcome student boredom, students feel happy learning while playing and eliminating the stigma of boring social studies learning. The conclusion of this study is that through domino aurora (DORA) media, it is able to overcome social studies learning boredom in class IX students of SMPN 19 Malang.

Abstract

Low student interest in learning is one of the inhibiting factors in achieving optimal learning outcomes, especially in the material on the diversity of community culture. This condition encourages the need for innovation in delivering material through interesting and interactive learning media. This study aims to develop Smartbox learning media as a means to increase the learning interest of 7th grade students of Bahrul Maghfiroh Middle School. The method used is research and development (Research and Development) with the ADDIE model which is modified into several core stages, including: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the study showed that the Smartbox media developed received a "feasible" assessment from material experts and media experts. The trial to students showed a significant increase in learning interest based on observations and questionnaires given before and after using the media. In conclusion, Smartbox learning media is effective in increasing students' learning interest in the material on the diversity of community culture and is feasible to use in the learning process in the classroom.

Abstract

According to the findings of a pre-survey on social studies classes at SMP Bahrul Magfiroh class 7A, pupils in this problem exhibit very little enthusiasm to learn. This was discovered during the learning meeting when it was discovered that several pupils had skipped or failed to attend class. Additionally, based on the previous meeting, the researcher employed LKPD in the next one, which motivated students to participate enthusiastically in social studies classes.  According to the description given, the purpose of this study is to determine whether students are interested in learning about various topics. To this end, Mind Mapping media will be used as a learning tool to boost students' enthusiasm for learning. Utilising the ADDIE approach (analysis, design, development, application, and evaluation), mind mapping learning materials are developed through the use of development research, often known as research and development (R&D).  A proportion of 80% fell into the practicable group according to the media feasibility test conducted by media and material experts.  According to the results of surveys given to 23 students in total, the presence of active and interactive learning materials influences 32.8% of student motivation.  Thus, it can be said that using mapping media helps boost students' motivation to understand social studies material.

Abstract

Preserving traditional culinary heritage is essential to maintaining local cultural identity amid modernization. This study analyzes the role of social capital in preserving Empal Gentong, a traditional Cirebonese dish with strong historical and cultural significance. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The results show that social capital—trust, social networks, and social norms—contributes significantly to preserving the authenticity of recipes, cooking techniques, and cultural values. Local culinary communities and intergenerational involvement play a key role in transmitting these values. Furthermore, collaboration between local governments, tourism stakeholders, and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is strengthened through social capital, enhancing promotion and preservation efforts. The study concludes that cultural culinary preservation relies on economic factors and strong social ties within the community. Strengthening social capital is therefore vital to sustaining local food heritage.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations conducted in class VIII D IPS SMP Bahrul Maghfiroh, it is known that the level of student creativity is still low. The low creativity is mainly caused by the learning method that is less interesting and the involvement of students actively and effectively. This study aims to apply Pop-Up Book learning media to improve student creativity. Pop-Up Book media was chosen because it has visual and interactive qualities that can stimulate learning interest and improve students' cognitive and affective development. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) research method, by utilizing the 4D development model which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The results of the study showed that Pop-Up Book learning media was able to improve student creativity using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) approach. In the comparison of the results of cycles 1 and 2 of this study, there was a significant increase in student creativity. In cycle I, the average value of 64.17 increased to 84.17 in cycle II. Pop-Up Book media has proven to be a practical, interactive and innovative learning tool and functions to train and develop students' creativity in learning activities.

Abstract

The problem of low student interest in Social Sciences subjects, especially in social and cultural issues, is an important concern. Theoretical materials and lack of real activities often make students feel bored and unmotivated. To overcome these challenges, this study aims to develop interactive puzzle-based learning media. The media can increase interest in learning and provide a fun and interesting learning experience. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of the study were seventh students at SMP Bahrul Maghfiroh. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of the feasibility test showed that the media was considered feasible, with validation from material experts of 78.3% and from media experts of 77.2%. The results of the questionnaire showed an increase in student interest in learning after using puzzle media, with an average score of 78%. During the learning session, students looked more active, focused, and enthusiastic when discussing and arranging puzzle pieces related to the learning material. This media not only delivers the material in an interesting way, but also encourages critical thinking and collaboration among students. Therefore, interactive puzzles can be an effective alternative learning media to increase students' interest in learning social and cultural material in Social Sciences subjects.

Abstract

Sebagian besar peserta didik kelas VIIB SMP Negeri 11 Madiun masih menghadapi kendala dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial mereka. Tujuan penelitian  ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan sosial dan hasil belajar IPS melalui metode investigasi kelompok. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas VIIB SMP Negeri 11 Madiun sejumlah 32 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan tes. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif secara rata-rata dan persentase yaitu dengan menginventarisasi dan memadukan seluruh informasi yang diperoleh dari tiap siklus. Penelitian ini berlangsung dua siklus dan setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, serta refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan sosial pada pra siklus sebesar 34,37%, siklus I sebesar 62,50%, serta pada siklus II sebesar 81,25%. Sedangkan peningkatan hasil belajar tampak dari persentase capaian KKTP pra siklus sebesar 31,25%, siklus I sebesar 62,50%, serta siklus II sebesar 87,50%. Kesimpulannya adalah metode investigasi kelompok dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial dan hasil belajar peserta didik.   ABSTRACT Most students in class VIIB of SMP Negeri 11 Madiun struggle to develop social skills. In addition, many of them have not achieved the expected learning outcomes. This research aimed to determine the improvement of social skills and the result of social studies learning outcomes through the group investigation method. This classroom action research uses a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 32 students in class VIIB of SMP Negeri 11 Madiun. Data collection techniques were observation and tests. Data analysis used descriptive statistics on average and percentage by inventorying and combining all information obtained from each cycle. This research lasted two cycles, each consisting of stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed an increase in social skills in the pre-cycle of 34.37%, cycle I of 62.50%, and cycle II of 81.25%. Meanwhile, the increase in learning outcomes was seen from the percentage of achievement of KKTP in the pre-cycle of 31.25%, cycle I of 62.50%, and cycle II of 87.50%. The conclusion is that the group investigation method can improve students' social skills and learning outcomes.
