SPEKTA (Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat: Teknologi dan Aplikasi) dengan nomor registrasi ISSN 2723-8008 (cetak) dan ISSN 2723-8016 (online) adalah jurnal multidisiplin ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. Jurnal Ini merupakan jurnal yang mencakup masalah mengenai penerpan aplikasi teknologi kepdalam masyarakat. Tujuan publikasi jurnal ini adalah untuk menyebarluaskan pemikiran konseptual atau gagasan dan hasil penelitian yang telah dicapai di bidang pelayanan kepada masyarakat. SPEKTA (Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat: Teknologi dan Aplikasi) terbit sejak bulan Juni 2020 tepatnya sejak perilisan Volume 1, Nomor 1, Tahun 2020. SPEKTA (Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat: Teknologi dan Aplikasi) memiliki fokus utama pada pengembangan ilmu-ilmu di ranah pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Lingkup ranah pengabdian kepada masyarakat antara lain meliputi Teknologi Tepat Guna, Perancangan dan Pengembangan Produk, Technopreneur, Aplikasi Teknologi, dan Teknologi Informasi dan System Informasi. Setiap naskah yang masuk akan dibaca oleh tim editorial. Naskah-naskah yang dievaluasi oleh editor dan dianggap tidak sesuai dengan kriteria jurnal akan ditolak tanpa tinjauan eksternal. Naskah yang kami nilai berpotensi menarik bagi pembaca dikirim ke peer reviewer. Setelah dilakukan review naskah oleh reviewer, naskah akan dikembalikan kepada penulis untuk direvisi. Tim editor membuat keputusan berdasarkan rekomendasi reviewer. SPEKTA (Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat: Teknologi dan Aplikasi) terbit 2 kali dalam 1 Tahun yaitu bulan Juni dan Desember.

Abstract

Background: The decline of agricultural land in Sumokembangsri Village due to industrial expansion has reduced local food production. This program aimed to enhance the community’s capacity, particularly PKK women’s groups, in cultivating vegetables on limited land through IoT-based aeroponic automation. Contribution: This community engagement initiative contributes to strengthening women’s roles in smart agriculture, improving technological literacy, enhancing production and management competencies, and offering a scalable model of aeroponic-based smart farming for land-constrained areas. Method: The program was conducted for six months and involved 78 active participants. Activities included socialization, hands-on training, IoT-based aeroponic installation, mentoring, and evaluation. Knowledge and management skills were assessed using structured questionnaires, while data were analyzed with descriptive statistics to measure learning outcomes and program effectiveness. Results: Participants showed substantial improvement in technical and managerial competencies. Knowledge of aeroponic principles increased from 40% to 88.85%, while understanding of its impact on crop quality and yield rose from 38.49% to 87.69%. Management capabilities, including resource management, team coordination, and organizational governance, also improved, with average scores rising from 66–71% to 94–98%. Participants successfully operated IoT-based systems and demonstrated strong motivation for sustaining smart farming practices. Conclusion: The integration of IoT-based aeroponic automation with community-based empowerment effectively enhances agricultural productivity, strengthens local capacity, and supports sustainable food production. The program achieves its objective of empowering PKK groups through smart technology and provides a replicable model for similar semi-urban rural communities facing land limitations.

Abstract

Background: Coffee is a key plantation commodity in Indonesia, with Gunung Kawi producing Robusta, Arabica, and Excelsa varieties. However, local farmers still rely on traditional drying methods and outdated marketing, affecting bean quality and sales. This community service program seeks to address these issues by introducing a 30 kg-capacity rotary dryer to meet the SNI 01-2907-2008 standard and by providing digital marketing training to enhance competitiveness. Contribution: This program significantly supports Sekar Adji MSMEs by introducing a rotary dryer that enables coffee drying to meet national quality standards. Combined with digital marketing training and improved packaging, it enhances product promotion and competitiveness in the digital market, ultimately boosting MSME revenue. Method: The program involves four main activities: manufacturing and training on the use of a 30 kg-capacity rotary dryer, providing digital marketing training to enhance social media and e-commerce use, redesigning coffee packaging for better appeal, and restructuring the MSME organization to improve adaptability and management efficiency. Results: The program introduced a 30 kg-capacity rotary dryer and digital marketing training. The dryer reduced moisture content to 11.5%, and product packaging was improved with five new designs. The program significantly increased marketing reach and MSME revenue. Digital platforms such as Instagram, Tokopedia, and TikTok Shop were utilized to expand online presence, and a new organizational structure enhanced business operation. Conclusion: Analysis of the results shows that the program positively impacted product quality and sales at Sekar Adji MSMEs, primarily by improving drying processes and enhancing digital marketing through targeted training.

Abstract

Background: Adolescents often acquire health knowledge through traditional education but frequently face challenges in sustaining healthy behaviors due to a range of social, environmental, psychological, and developmental factors. Contribution: We developed "EduHealth Time," an Android application co-designed with educators and health personnel to deliver on-demand health education videos and integrated screening modules (anthropometry, anaemia risk, illness monitoring), with built-in functionality for exporting data to support School Health Unit documentation. Method: A one-group pretest-posttest design was implemented during a community-service pilot at SMPIT As-Salam Malang (October–November 2024), involving 65 junior high school students. The app development followed the Plan–Act–Observe–Reflect cycle. Usability and feasibility were evaluated through a seven-item structured survey. Results: EduHealth Time was made publicly available on Google Play. Usability outcomes were highly positive: 92% of participants reported ease of data entry, 100% experienced no system errors, and 100% completed screening tasks without difficulty. The educational and screening functions were rated feasible by 92% of users. Significant improvements were observed in knowledge scores: +5.2 points for balanced diet, +21.4 points for physical activity, and +7.4 points for reproductive health. Conclusion: The EduHealth Time application is a scalable and contextually relevant mHealth platform that enhances adolescent health knowledge and supports self-monitoring. Its integration of multimedia learning and screening features provides a model for continuous school-based health education.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia’s aquaculture sector holds vast potential, yet many fish farmers, especially those in remote areas like offshore cages, face limited access to timely fish health services, leading to undetected disease outbreaks, mass fish mortality, and significant economic losses. Contribution: This study introduces Fish Doctor, a scalable platform integrating fish species detection, disease diagnosis, and expert consultation. It bridges the gap between AI-based detection and practical aquaculture needs in developing countries, supporting sustainable practices aligned with SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). Method: The application was built using Next.js, Express.js, MySQL, and integrates computer vision and expert systems. Its core features include image-based fish species detection using YOLOv11, rule-based disease diagnosis through forward chaining, and an online expert consultation module.  Designed as a Progressive Web App (PWA), the system offers offline-first capabilities, enabling its use in low-connectivity environments. Results: The system was evaluated using test datasets of five fish species, achieving an average diagnostic accuracy above 80% and response times of less than 2 seconds per case. Conclusion: The developed platform demonstrates potential for improving early disease detection and reducing reliance on chemical treatments in aquaculture. Future research will involve usability testing with more than 100 fish farmers across multiple provinces to assess scalability and generalizability.

Abstract

Background: Urban agriculture is a strategy to overcome the limitations of agricultural land in urban areas, while contributing to food security and community involvement. This community service program aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of urban farmer groups in Kemantren Gondokusuman, Yogyakarta. The main objective of this activity is to improve the institutional capacity of farmer groups and strengthen the economic resilience of the group. Contribution: This program promotes more inclusive decision-making for farmer groups and improves access to institutional resources, contributing to the sustainability of urban agriculture. Method: The approach used includes participatory mapping to identify the potential of farmer groups, exhibitions as a medium for interactive dissemination, and focus group discussions (FGD) to formulate institutional strategies and economic strengthening. Data was collected through field observations, structured interviews, and community workshops. Results: The results show that participatory mapping increases collective awareness among farmer group members regarding available resources, expands interactions among stakeholders (farmer group members, the community, and academics), and facilitates knowledge exchange. Structured FGDs support the formulation of institutional strategies, leading to increased group cohesion, managerial transparency, and broader access to external support. This combination of methods demonstrates that integrated strategies can enhance the institutional effectiveness of urban farming groups. Conclusion: The integration of participatory methods and public interaction plays a crucial role in strengthening the capacity of urban farming groups. This program provides a replicable implementation model for other communities and demonstrates that the sustainability of urban farming depends on institutional strengthening and community engagement.

Abstract

Background: The Pakis village is known as the Durian Village which has abundant durian farming potential. However, the low skills of the community in product processing and digital marketing have not provided economic value. Contribution: This community service activity aims to enhance the digital entrepreneurship skills of the community through ecopreneurship based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Method: This research used a descriptive qualitative approach combined with the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method with 20 purposively selected participants. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests, observations, focus group discussions, and interviews, and analyzed using thematic analysis supported by descriptive statistics. Results: Ecopreneurship training based on artificial intelligence significantly enhanced participants' digital entrepreneurship with pre-test score 41.2 and post-test score 88.1 with an improvement of 113.9%. Conclusion: The findings highlight the novelty of participatory integration between ecopreneurship and AI in rural contexts, offering both theoretical contributions to the literature on sustainable digital entrepreneurship and practical insights for policy. This model has potential for replication in other rural communities in Southeast Asia, supporting global discourses on the circular economy, digital inclusion, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Background: MSMEs in Kampoeng Ilmu Surabaya continue to face obstacles in product marketing and digital adoption, which limit their operational growth. This program aims to address these issues by developing an integrated website and improving digital literacy among MSME partners to strengthen their online visibility and business sustainability. Contribution: The program contributes to the community by providing a digital platform (UMKMCerdas website) that enables MSMEs to independently manage product data, storefront profiles, and promotional information. It also enhances partners’ capacity to operate digital tools, supporting long-term empowerment and competitiveness. Method: The implementation consisted of five structured stages: needs analysis through interviews, website design with UI/UX and database planning, website development using PHP (Laravel), MySQL, Tailwind, and Filament, training and mentoring for MSME partners, and evaluation through continuous monitoring. A participatory approach was used to ensure active involvement and skill transfer to 82 MSME actors. Results: The integrated website successfully provides features such as bookstore profiles, product catalogs, Google Maps integration, WhatsApp contacts, and an admin dashboard. Post-training responses showed significant enhancement in partners’ confidence and ability to use digital tools for promoting their businesses and managing information. Conclusion: The program effectively strengthens the digital capabilities of Kampoeng Ilmu MSMEs, enabling them to manage business content independently and expand their market reach.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia's potato production faces critical challenges in quality seed provision. Traditional G0 seed propagation methods achieve only 40-60% survival rates due to transplant shock and environmental stress. Contribution: This research contributes to community-based technology transfer literature in agricultural seed systems by implementing integrated aeroponic-micro tuber technologies through participatory partnerships. Method: A participatory action research approach was employed over four months (January-April 2025) involving 25 participants from Gapoktan Nilam farmer group in North Sumatra. The tri-partite partnership included farmers, PT. G10 Agrotech, and Universitas Negeri Medan. Training modules covered aeroponic fundamentals, micro-tuber applications, and integrated system management. post assessments measured survival rates, productivity, knowledge, and skills using paired t-tests. Results: Survival rates improved significantly from 52.3±8.2% to 83.7±4.1% (p<0.001). Monthly seedling production increased by 171% from 2,040±320 to 5,520±280 units. Participant knowledge scores doubled from 4.2±0.8 to 8.5±0.6 (p<0.001). The program achieved 95% participation with 78% satisfaction rates and demonstrated 240% return on investment within 12 months. Conclusion: The integrated approach effectively addresses transplant shock while establishing sustainable community partnerships. This model demonstrates successful scaling of complex agricultural technologies at grassroots level, contributing to enhanced food security through improved seed systems.

Abstract

Background: Agarwood, valued for its aromatic fragrance, thrives in West Nusa Tenggara, where demand is very high. However, natural forest sources are scarce, driving up market prices and limiting supply. To address this, farmers have begun cultivating agarwood trees. Community service initiatives are urgent, as they offer economic, environmental, and social benefits. Contribution: This study introduces a community-based revitalization program for agarwood cultivation in the KHDTK (Forest Area with Specific Purpose) of Senaru. By integrating applied biotechnology with participatory forest management, the program provides empirical evidence of how agarwood planting can simultaneously improve rural livelihoods, support environmental rehabilitation, and contribute to broader debates in sustainable forestry and applied technology. Method: The methods include site assessment and sustainable land preparation, and staggered planting. A total of 2070 high-quality agarwood seedlings are distributed to local farmers, who received training in cultivation, maintenance, and resin production techniques. Monitoring was conducted over 6 months to evaluate survival, growth, and socio-economic outcomes. Results: After 6 months, 90% of seedlings survived, and carbon sequestration potential was estimated at 3.31 tons CO₂ per year. These findings indicate that agarwood revitalization can deliver measurable ecological and economic benefits. Conclusion: With proper implementation and support, this project can serve as a model for other regions seeking to balance ecological preservation with socio-economic growth.

Abstract

Background: Digital transformation had made social media crucial for MSME marketing, but many MSMEs had failed to adopt AI effectively due to limited digital literacy and weak branding, creating an urgent need for integrated and participatory training. Contribution: This study aimed to strengthen the creative and technical capabilities of MSMEs in utilizing AI for social media marketing, encourage intergenerational collaboration between youth and MSME owners, and propose a replicable community empowerment model based on Tri-N for sustainable digital inclusion. Method: This study used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which was integrated with the teachings of Tamansiswa — Niteni, Niroke, and Nambahi (Tri N). The activities were conducted in four cyclical stages: (1) Analysis of needs and potential; (2) Technical training; (3) Discussion of content results; and (4) Evaluation and reflection for continuous improvement. Results: The results showed that digital literacy, creativity, and audience engagement had improved significantly. The project demonstrated that community-based digital training supported by relevant teaching approaches, youth-oriented content, and collaboration across generations helped small businesses grow and succeed in the online world. Conclusion: The Tri N approach contributed to helping MSMEs shift from passive digital users to active content creators by observing, emulating, and adapting AI-based strategies, resulting in sustainable digital marketing rooted in local culture and offering a replicable model for inclusive digital empowerment.
