Abstract

This community service aims to enhance knowledge and expertise in organizational management and children's play module preparation for the Forum Taman Baca Masyarakat (FTBM) in Jepara Regency. The service used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, with the participants being representatives of TBM managers who are members of FTBM. A questionnaire was used as the instrument for evaluating the activity, and the results of which were analyzed descriptively. The service results indicate a significant increase in workshop participants' understanding. A total of 9 participants (30%) who were initially in the low understanding category succeeded in increasing to the high category, including 18 participants (60%). The workshop activity on preparing children's play modules also made a positive contribution to the participants, particularly in terms of module preparation. There was a significant increase in understanding, where 10 participants (33.33%) who were initially in the low understanding category succeeded in increasing to the high category, involving 20 participants (66.67%). This activity was successful in achieving positive results and supporting the development of participants’ skills and understanding of organizational management and module preparation.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase community knowledge in sustainable water management in Pucangan Village, Kartasura District, Sukoharjo Regency. The service activities are carried out through workshops and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) methods targeting PKK mothers (family welfare development). Pre-tests and post-tests with questionnaires were carried out to measure the level of understanding of PKK mothers in managing water. The results of this community service show that there has been an increase in community knowledge about sustainable shallow groundwater management by an average of 8.8%, which consists of measuring water quality, management, and processing of groundwater.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance digital and emotional social literacy of high school students to prevent them from being easily exposed to religious radicalism. The method of the community service program takes shape via interactive socialization about cognitive and social-emotional digital literacies as an antidote to extremist ideology involving 64 students at SMA Brawijaya Smart School, Malang City. The service evaluation instrument consists of a pre-test and post-test, which are then analyzed inferentially using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results of the socialization showed that the levels of participants’ understanding of radicalism in general, religious radicalism in particular, and cognitive and social-emotional digital literacies were significantly higher at the post-test stage compared to the pre-test stage. The final findings showed that participants positively evaluated the goal, implementation, and outcome from the socialization. Moreover, participants rated that socialization could meet their needs to know more about radicalism in general, religious radicalism in particular, and the cognitive and social-emotional digital literacies to tackle religious extremist ideology.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and ability of MSMEs in Legok Village to register BPOM label products and halal labels as an effort to expand marketing, consumer confidence and business competitiveness. Methods of implementing this service uses training with lecture, demonstration and discussion stages. The evaluation instrument for this activity uses a questionnaire, which is then analyzed descriptively. The results of this service show that the business actors of the Legok Village Culinary MSMEs in Tangerang Regency have the ability and skills to register business products with BPOM and halal labels. BPOM and Halal labels can be utilized as product innovation in increasing business competitiveness.

Abstract

This community service aims to prevent mental health problems in adolescents by providing adolescent cadres with stress management training, recognizing mental health problems, and providing mental health cadre training to adolescents. This community service was carried out through the observation, problem formulation, preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The method of implementing this service used training, discussion, and simulation. The evaluation instrument used was a pre-test and post-test. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon statistical test because the data was not normally distributed. The results showed % increase in knowledge among teenage cadres who had been trained by 25%. It also showed the influence of providing youth mental health cadre training on cadre knowledge (p-value=0.000 <0.05). There was a need to strengthen knowledge through outreach activities and training for cadres who have been trained continuously.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase women's knowledge and awareness in preventing stunting in Kampung Mukim Singkir Yan, Kedah, Malaysia. The method for implementing this service uses counseling, which includes planning, implementing and monitoring with Universiti Utara Malaysia partners. The instrument for evaluating this activity is a questionnaire, and is then analyzed descriptively. The results of this service show that women's knowledge and awareness regarding stunting prevention in Kampung Mukim Singkir Yan, Kedah, Malaysia has increased regarding understanding of stunting problems, the worse impacts of stunting, and stunting prevention.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase the knowledge and skills of fishermen in Pengambengan village, Jembrana Regency, Bali in creating innovative portable rollers as an effective and efficient tool for moving boats. The method of implementing this service uses training with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. Evaluation of the success level of this service uses a questionnaire instrument, which is analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results of this service activity show that fishermen can understand well the innovation of portable rollers as an effective and efficient tool for moving boats. Apart from that, fishermen have been able to create and improve existing wheel innovations. The finished rolling innovation can be used by fishermen properly and correctly when moving boats/jukungs to places that are safer from high tides.

Abstract

This community service aims to help Santa Maria Yogyakarta Dormitory students overcome learning difficulties through a biology learning remediation program. The method of implementing this community service used tutoring. The service participants consisted of students from class X IPS and XI MIPA who lived at the Santa Maria Dormitory in Yogyakarta. The evaluation instrument for this activity uses closed and open questionnaires, which are analyzed descriptively. The service results showed that students' problems are difficulty understanding the material, feeling lazy, and bored with studying biology. This problem could be overcome by applying fun learning methods and media. Student responsed to the biology learning remediation program were classified as very high, and the impact felt by students is relatively high.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase the knowledge of MSE in Rasau Jaya, who are members of the “Kelompok UMK Sahabat (KUS)” regarding obtaining halal certification using a halal statement by business actors or Self Declare. The method stages carried out in this activity were identifying KUS profiles, consumer analysis, education, and evaluation. Evaluation was carried out using a questionnaire. The descriptive data obtained was presented in percentage form. The results of this activity showed that 92% of the products produced by KUS were snacks, 78% of KUS consumers stated that halal certification was a determinant in purchasing food products, educational media using brochures was considered to help understand the material provided, and this activity increases knowledge up to 71.43 %. Continuity of activities through assistance in submitting halal certification through the Self Declare was very necessary.

Abstract

This service activity aims to increase the understanding of young people in Nepo village regarding digital literacy and digital transformation assistance. The method of implementing this service uses socialization and training with a participatory approach. The evaluation instrument for this activity uses a questionnaire and is analyzed descriptively. The results of this service show that there has been a significant increase in participants' understanding of the concepts of digital literacy, digital transformation and social media. Digital literacy understanding increased from 50% to 79%, while benefits of digital literacy understanding rose from 50% to 87%. Participants also showed an increase in understanding the era of digital transformation (from 38% to 79%) and the impact of social media (from 43% to 93%). They also understand ethics and cyber security better, with significant improvements. The digital literacy education program in Nepo village has successfully achieved its goals, empowering the younger generation in digital literacy, digital transformation and social media ethics.
