Abstract

This community service aims to enhance teaching abilities by using mobile learning-based comic page maker applications as creative learning media. The execution of this service required planning, implementation, and assessment phases of training. Fourteen instructors from Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Medan participated in this service activity. The evaluation instrument used survey percentages and was analyzed descriptively. This service showed that 71% of teachers understood and could use the mobile learning-based comic page creator application in class. In addition, teachers were enthusiastic about exploring innovative skills and became creative using mobile/mobile applications. By mastering this application, the teacher can convey teaching material more concisely through pictures and text so that learning objectives are conveyed properly to students.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase the knowledge and competence of high school teachers in one of the 3T areas in compiling classroom action research (CAR) reports. This service method used training with stages, namely assistance in making proposals, choosing the right model in implementing classroom action research and designing learning activities and tools. These service partners were junior and senior high school teachers in Nangapanda Ende District, NTT. The instrument for evaluating this activity used a pretest, and the posttest was analyzed descriptively. This service showed that the teachers' insight increased in preparing class action research reports, and they better understood the stages in the CAR implementation process. These namely teachers were able to understand knowledge about CAR from the four indicators that were the focus of this training, including the steps for implementing CAR, the systematics of writing/composing CAR, success indicators, data analysis, and CAR implementation instruments. Implementing this training activity provides a good understanding of teachers' understanding and professional competence regarding the importance of carrying out CAR.

Abstract

The rapid scientific development of robotics technology must be in line with efforts to increase the creativity and skills of human resources. Responding to these challenges, it is necessary to implement a robotics technology-based learning curriculum as early as possible starting from the school. However, there are some problems such as curriculum with robotics technology which is still rarely found in Indonesian schools. The purpose of this service is to improve the skills of students of SMK Daarut Tauhid through Robotics training. This method of devotion uses the method of lectures, hands-on practice, and interactive discussions. The number of participants in this training was 20 (twenty) students with activity evaluation instruments using g-form surveys and was analyzed descriptively. The results of this service show that student participants tend to better understand the scientific concepts of robotics technology when faced with real hardware compared to simulations using software. With this training, it’s hoped that knowledge and skills in robotics technology and science among students will increase.

Abstract

This service activity aims to increase teacher digital literacy in blended learning. The method used in service activities was the assistance carried out by observation, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The dedication partner was Rumbio Jaya State Senior High School 4. The instrument for evaluating this activity used a questionnaire which was analyzed descriptively. The results of the community service that had been carried out and evaluated showed an increase in teacher digital literacy. This increase was shown by the teacher's understanding before the activity, from an average score of 3.11 to an average of 3.30 after the activity was carried out. However, even though there has been an increase, teachers still need to maximize their ability to use technology to support the implementation of blended learning better.

Abstract

This service activity aims to improve teacher writing skills and the ability to search for reliable information as a source of reference and create digital libraries for writing scientific articles. The method of implementing this service used training. This service partner was the teachers at SMPN 16 Padang. The instruments for evaluating this service activity were the articles written by the teachers, which were analyzed descriptively. The results of this service showed that teachers could produce relevant scientific articles that could be used for teacher promotion. Approximately 80% of teachers could master how to turn class action research reports into scientific articles. In addition, this activity could improve 100% of teachers' understanding of the procedures for writing and publishing scientific articles in accredited journals. This success was seen from the articles made by the teachers according to the template from the specified journal.

Abstract

The service activity aims to provide an understanding to the youth organization regarding the potential of mangrove ecosystems to be developed as Edu-Ecotourism in Tanjung Tiram Village, North Moramo District, South Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The method of implementing this service was carried out education, practice, and mentoring. A questionnaire and data analysis were carried out descriptively to evaluate the increase in understanding of youth organization. The results of this community service activity showed that the understanding of youth organizations in Tanjung Tiram village increased regarding the conservation of the mangrove ecosystem and its potential to be developed as an edu-ecotourism village and in practice-assistance activities, 11 types of mangrove ecosystem constituents were identified in Tanjung Tiram Village. With a good understanding of the community and the high diversity of mangroves, Tanjung Tiram Village could be developed into a mangrove Edu-Ecotourism Village.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase community knowledge in sustainable water management in Pucangan Village, Kartasura District, Sukoharjo Regency. The service activities are carried out through workshops and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) methods targeting PKK mothers (family welfare development). Pre-tests and post-tests with questionnaires were carried out to measure the level of understanding of PKK mothers in managing water. The results of this community service show that there has been an increase in community knowledge about sustainable shallow groundwater management by an average of 8.8%, which consists of measuring water quality, management, and processing of groundwater.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to increase the capacity of the Nagari Salimpaung Government apparatus in utilizing the management of the SIANA application and increase the participation of the Nagari Salimpaung community in obtaining public services. The method used in this service adopts the sprint design method which includes outreach, training and mentoring activities. The instrument for evaluating community service activities uses a questionnaire and is analyzed descriptively. The results of this service show that there is an increase in the capacity of partners, especially the SIANA application operator. This can be seen from the operator’s basic skills in operating the SIANA application.

Abstract

This service aims to increase the knowledge and capability of SMKS Budi Dharma Dumai students regarding the application of ENFORCE in promoting independent learning. This service method employed training with three stages: first, the pre-activity stage; second, the core activity stage; and third, the evaluation stage. The number of participants in this dedication was nine tenth-grade students majoring in Office Management. The instrument for evaluating this activity used a questionnaire and was analyzed descriptively. The results of this dedication showed that most students favorably responded that ENFORCE was very useful in learning English for office because the material was presented in an exciting and precise manner. From personalization, authenticity, and connectivity, this application is easily accessible, provides original resources, and provides opportunities for self-study. After participating in this training, students stated that they would use this application as an additional learning reference at school and home.

Abstract

The implementation of community service (PKM) aims to improve teachers' ability to teach by applying the website-based learning management system (LMS) application at MTs. Teladan Medan is the location of the dedication that has been done. The application that had been developed was a contribution to PKM partners to helped the school conduct learned management, especially in implementing online learned.  PKM activities were carried out through several activities, namely: socialization, training, and assistance in the used of the website-based learned management system (LMS) application that had been developed for several 16 teachers. The instruments used in the form of questionnaires, pretests, and posttests were distributed before and after the training. Based on the results of the activities carried out, there was an increase in teacher knowledge about integrated learning technology using the learning management system application, with a score of 75.65%, and an increase in teacher skills in using or applying the learning management system application, with a score of 80.47%.
