Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen family nutrition literacy regarding complementary feeding practices (MP-ASI), the utilization of local food resources, and the rational use of multivitamins and simple pharmaceutical products as part of stunting prevention efforts in Nagari Sungai Kunyit Barat, South Solok Regency. The program was implemented using a Participatory Action Research approach, involving 40 participants consisting of mothers of young children, community health volunteers (posyandu cadres), and local administrative stakeholders. Evaluation data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ knowledge and practical skills in age-appropriate complementary feeding, the utilization of animal-based protein sources (such as eggs and fish), and the rational use of multivitamins as supportive supplements rather than substitutes for main meals. Operationally, participants were able to design varied menus based on local food resources, and posyandu cadres demonstrated readiness to replicate the educational activities within the community. Overall, the activity demonstrates that community-based education integrating nutrition and community pharmacy literacy can effectively strengthen family capacity for stunting prevention.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to assess the level of parental social support and to provide psychoeducation to parents and guardians of ninth-grade students at Madinah Al Fatih Gadur Islamic Junior High School, with the goal of enhancing their understanding of how to support their children's education and career planning. The program is implemented through face-to-face psychoeducational sessions, followed by small group discussions facilitated by a psychologist, involving a total of 49 parents and guardians. Data are collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring four dimensions of social support: emotional, appraisal, instrumental, and informational support. Descriptive analysis reveals that 71.43% of respondents are categorized as having a moderate level of social support, while 14.29% fall into both the high and low categories. Emotional support demonstrates the highest mean score (M = 22.16), whereas instrumental support shows the lowest (M = 5.86), indicating that emotional support is more dominant than tangible assistance. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening parental roles in supporting children's educational achievement and facilitating early career planning through the provision of optimal social support.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the competence of elementary school teachers under the Bantul Education Office in implementing Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) in mathematics through training, mentoring, and the development of culture-based teaching materials to foster inclusive, engaging, and contextually relevant learning environments. The program was conducted through workshops and hands-on practice, during which teachers were trained to develop teaching modules, lesson plans, instructional media, and assessment instruments that integrate educational values, everyday contexts, and local cultural elements. Program evaluation was conducted using observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, and the data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and thematic analysis to examine participants' engagement, understanding, and feedback. The evaluation results indicated that the integration of educational values received the highest average score (4.71), followed by contextual relevance (4.58) and the incorporation of cultural artifacts (4.22). Although teachers demonstrated a high level of consistency in implementing CRT principles, integrating local culture into mathematics instruction remained a major challenge. The greatest barrier identified was the limited availability of contextual and digital teaching materials, with an average difficulty score of 3.28. Nevertheless, teachers demonstrated a strong awareness of and perceived need for CRT in mathematics education, reflected in a high average score of 5.16. These findings suggest that Culturally Responsive Teaching extends beyond a pedagogical approach by providing a transformative framework that connects mathematics learning with students' lived experiences while preserving local cultural heritage. Continuous mentoring and the development of context-based digital teaching resources are therefore essential to support the sustainable implementation of CRT in elementary schools.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve emotion regulation among adolescents residing in an orphanage through mindfulness training and expressive writing while evaluating the effectiveness of these interventions. A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with a control group was employed involving 35 adolescents aged 12–18 years, who were allocated to a mindfulness group (n = 13), an expressive writing group (n = 12), and a control group (n = 10). The interventions were delivered through brief, structured group sessions facilitated within the orphanage setting. Emotion regulation was assessed using the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), adapted from Gross and John (2003), which measures the dimensions of cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression. Data were analyzed using Welch's ANOVA followed by the Games-Howell post hoc test. Pretest scores showed no significant differences among the groups, indicating comparable baseline conditions. In contrast, posttest results revealed significant between-group differences, with both intervention groups achieving significantly higher emotion regulation scores than the control group, whereas no significant difference was found between the mindfulness and expressive writing groups. These findings suggest that mindfulness training and expressive writing are practical, low-cost psychosocial interventions for strengthening emotion regulation among adolescents in orphanage settings. Although the program was limited by a relatively small sample size, the quasi-experimental design, a short intervention period, and the absence of follow-up assessment, both interventions demonstrate potential for integration into routine psychosocial services through basic training for caregivers and orphanage staff, thereby supporting sustainable implementation with minimal resources.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of community health cadres and volunteers regarding tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control. The program involved 30 cadres and volunteers from Kutalimbaru Village, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, and was conducted at the Kutalimbaru Village Head’s Office. A Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach was employed through community engagement and participant recruitment, data collection and needs assessment, training sessions, distribution of TB educational pocketbooks, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The data were analyzed descriptively using frequency and percentage distributions, and participants’ pre-test and post-test results were compared across knowledge, attitude, and practice categories. Before the intervention, the majority of participants demonstrated insufficient levels of knowledge (83.33%), attitudes (83.33%), and practices (80.00%). Following the intervention, 96.67% of participants achieved a good level of knowledge, while 93.33% attained good levels of attitudes and practices. The program also established the “Great Cadres and Volunteers, Together to Eliminate TB” group as community-based agents for TB education and support. Overall, the findings indicate that structured and interactive training supported by practical educational materials effectively strengthens the readiness of community health cadres and volunteers to provide TB education, encourage early case detection, promote treatment adherence, and reduce TB-related stigma within the community. Integrating trained cadres and volunteers into village health programs, supported by continuous mentoring and regular monitoring, has the potential to strengthen sustainable community-based TB prevention and control initiatives.

Abstract

This community service program aims to assist RM Pawon Selaras, a culinary micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) located in Perum Unima, Minahasa Regency, in digitalizing its production management through a web-based Accounting Information System (AIS). The program adopted a participatory mentoring approach implemented from April to June 2026 through six stages: planning, needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing using Black Box Testing, and system deployment with maintenance. Program evaluation was conducted qualitatively through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation to assess system usability and partner capacity development. The resulting web-based application provides integrated features for raw material management, menu and recipe management, production planning, quality control, waste recording, inventory updating, and the generation of production and cost of goods manufactured reports. The program produced two major outcomes: the successful implementation of a functional digital information system and enhanced partner capacity in managing production records and operational information. The partner transitioned from intuitive, memory-based practices to structured, integrated, and data-driven documentation that supports pricing decisions and business performance evaluation. These findings suggest that the digital transformation of MSMEs can begin by addressing internal operational and record-management needs rather than focusing solely on digital marketing, and that sustained mentoring plays a critical role in facilitating technology adoption. Further evaluation using quantitative performance indicators is recommended to assess improvements in operational efficiency and waste reduction.
