Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of members of the Karya Nyata Farmer Group, local housewives, and the Karang Taruna in local food diversification through the production of corn flour cookies fortified with tuna fish bone flour. The program introduced an innovative value-added food product utilizing locally available agricultural resources and fishery by-products while promoting local food diversification and the sustainable utilization of fishery waste. The activities were implemented through the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN Tematik I) of the State University of Gorontalo using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The implementation process included local potential identification, program planning, hands-on training, and program evaluation using pre-test and post-test assessments, participant response questionnaires, and organoleptic evaluation. Pre-test and post-test data were analyzed descriptively and presented as percentages. The participants' average knowledge score increased markedly from 41.8% in the pre-test to 85.8% in the post-test. Two cookie variants, chocolate and vanilla, were successfully produced and received favorable acceptance from the panelists. The chocolate variant achieved a higher overall acceptability score (4.36) than the vanilla variant (3.86). Overall, the program effectively improved participants' knowledge and practical skills in processing corn flour and tuna fish bone flour into acceptable value-added food products, thereby supporting local food diversification and promoting the sustainable utilization of fishery by-products.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the accounting and tax literacy of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) operators to enable them to prepare accurate financial reports and establish competitive product pricing. The program involved 33 participants from the ceramics industry in Anjun Village, Plered District, Purwakarta Regency, Indonesia. The training was delivered through a combination of instructional sessions, interactive discussions, transaction-recording simulations, and practical cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations based on real-world case studies from the local ceramics industry. Program effectiveness was evaluated using pre-test and post-test assessments comprising ten indicators of accounting and tax literacy. The data were analyzed descriptively using percentage analysis to measure changes in participants’ understanding across the assessed indicators. The evaluation results showed that the average level of participants’ understanding increased from 50% in the pre-test to 63% in the post-test, with improvements observed in nine of the ten assessment indicators. In addition to improving technical competencies, the program also enhanced participants’ confidence in managing their business finances. Overall, the findings demonstrate that a needs-based and participatory training approach is effective in strengthening MSME accounting and tax literacy while fostering more accountable and competitive business management practices.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of duck farmer groups and promote local economic independence through knowledge transfer and the application of appropriate technology to produce value-added livestock products within a zero-waste farming system. The program was implemented in four stages: counseling, training, technology implementation, and mentoring and evaluation, involving the Beujroh Women Farmers' Group (KWT), the Baro Tabina Farmers' Group, and the surrounding community. A total of 40 participants from the Beujroh Women Farmers' Group (KWT) and the Baro Tabina Farmers' Group in Suak Sigadeng Village, West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, participated in the program. Program effectiveness was evaluated using a pre-test–post-test design involving all participants. Data were analyzed using the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) index, paired t-test, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and Cohen's d effect size. The results showed that the average empowerment score increased from 1.43 to 3.51, representing a 146.2% improvement, with an average N-Gain score of 0.81 (high category). All seven empowerment indicators achieved high N-Gain values (0.75–0.85), with the highest gain observed in pellet machine operation (0.85) and the lowest in biosecurity practices (0.75). Both the paired t-test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test indicated statistically significant improvements across all indicators (p < 0.001), supported by very large Cohen's d effect sizes (4.03–10.91). These findings suggest that the mentoring program effectively enhanced participants' empowerment in a consistent and practically meaningful manner, supported the adoption of circular economy principles, and contributed to strengthening local economic independence through sustainable duck farming.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance vocational high school (SMK) teachers' AI literacy through NotebookLM training and to formulate practical strategies for the sustainable integration of artificial intelligence into vocational education. The program involved 35 SMK teachers and was implemented through a series of workshops, hands-on practice sessions, mentoring, and reflective discussions. Program effectiveness was evaluated using a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected through validated pre-test and post-test instruments and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test and Normalized Gain (N-Gain) analysis. The results showed a statistically significant improvement in participants' understanding of NotebookLM, with mean post-test scores exceeding pre-test scores and an overall moderate N-Gain. The greatest learning gains were observed in participants' understanding and use of the Audio Overviews, Source Grounding, and Data Security features. Participants also reported increased confidence in integrating AI into instructional planning and classroom learning activities. Despite these positive outcomes, challenges related to digital infrastructure, varying levels of AI literacy, and teachers' readiness remained important considerations for wider implementation. These findings suggest that NotebookLM-based professional development can effectively enhance teachers' AI literacy while supporting the pedagogically meaningful integration of AI into vocational education. Continuous professional development, institutional support, equitable access to digital infrastructure, and collaboration with industry partners are essential to sustain AI adoption in vocational schools.

Abstract

This community service program aims to describe the implementation of on-farm coffee cupping across different harvesting methods and to analyze its effects on farmers' technical practices, quality awareness, and market orientation. The program was implemented using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach based on six stages adapted from Saliyo's framework and delivered through an Andragogy-Based Coffee School involving 18 coffee farmers (14 men and 4 women) in collaboration with a local coffee farmers' group in Wonosalam Village. Data were collected through participatory observation, on-farm cupping using the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) sensory evaluation protocol, and focus group discussions. Quantitative descriptive analysis was employed to visualize cup profiles using radar charts, while qualitative thematic analysis was used to examine participants' experiences and behavioral changes. The results revealed a clear relationship between harvesting methods and coffee flavor profiles. Strip picking produced flat sensory characteristics with relatively low cup quality, whereas selective picking combined with mossto fermentation generated more complex flavor profiles characterized by fruity and wine-like attributes. The program increased farmers' awareness of coffee quality, encouraged the adoption of selective harvesting and post-harvest sorting practices, and expanded market opportunities from conventional local markets to specialty and export-oriented markets. These findings suggest that participatory, experience-based learning through on-farm cupping can promote quality-oriented production practices and enhance the competitiveness of smallholder coffee farmers.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the financial literacy, product design, and digital marketing capacity of micro-enterprise owners in Yatu Raharja Village, Arso X District, Keerom Regency, Papua, as an initial step toward revitalizing the long-inactive Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMKam). The program was implemented by the Community Service Team of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Cenderawasih University, in collaboration with the Yatu Raharja Village Government and the local Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) organization. The intervention involved ten micro-enterprise owners selected through a preliminary household survey conducted alongside a broader community survey involving PKK members. To address the limited availability of laptop computers, two structured mentoring tools—a Simple Selling Price Worksheet and a Manual Business Cashbook—were developed and distributed in printed form. These materials were complemented by Canva-based visual learning resources covering product branding, packaging design, and Instagram content development. Baseline data were analyzed descriptively using percentage distributions and triangulated through SWOT analysis, while program outcomes were evaluated qualitatively through participatory observation and reflective discussions conducted during two mentoring sessions. The findings indicated improvements in participants' ability to apply cost-based pricing, increased commitment to maintaining routine financial records, and strong interest in using Instagram as a promotional platform. These outcomes were assessed through participatory observation rather than standardized pre- and post-intervention testing. Overall, these findings suggest that context-sensitive mentoring supported by practical learning tools can strengthen the entrepreneurial capacity of rural micro-enterprises and provide a foundation for the phased revitalization of the Yatu Raharja Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMKam).

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the role of community health cadres in enhancing reproductive health communication between parents and adolescents. The program was conducted at the Semanggi Village Office, Surakarta, and involved 31 community health cadres representing each neighborhood unit (Rukun Tetangga [RT]). The program was implemented through educational sessions and interactive counseling. Program outcomes were evaluated using a structured questionnaire, and the data were analyzed descriptively. The results demonstrated an improvement in the cadres' knowledge of reproductive health communication, with the mean score increasing from 8.8 in the pre-intervention assessment to 9.2 in the post-intervention assessment. These findings indicate greater consistency in participants' understanding after receiving the educational intervention. Furthermore, the program strengthened the capacity of community health cadres to serve as agents of change at the family and community levels, thereby fostering more effective and sustainable reproductive health communication between parents and adolescents and supporting efforts to prevent adolescent reproductive health problems within the community.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve nutritional knowledge, develop practical skills in producing sago–moringa–cheese cookies among members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) group, and promote the diversification of economically valuable local food products to support stunting prevention efforts in Mata Lamokula Village. The program was implemented using a participatory approach that included educational sessions and demonstrations. Participants' practical skills were evaluated using an observation checklist, and the data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that all participants successfully prepared three varieties of sago cookies in accordance with the demonstrated procedures. Participants also demonstrated increased awareness of the importance of utilizing local food resources to improve family nutrition. Furthermore, the program strengthened participants' economic motivation and enhanced collaboration among PKK members in developing local food-based enterprises.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve product quality and foster product innovation in coffee processing through the introduction of coffee roasting technology and the development of drip bag coffee products for Blego Pak Mul Coffee MSME. The program was implemented through four stages: (1) program orientation and outreach, (2) introduction to and training in the use of a coffee roasting machine, (3) training in the production of drip bag coffee as a product diversification strategy, and (4) mentoring and evaluation. Program outcomes were analyzed using descriptive methods. The results demonstrated that the introduction of the coffee roasting machine improved coffee quality, as evidenced by more uniform bean color and superior aroma compared with the conventional manual roasting method. In addition, the drip bag coffee products featured more modern and practical packaging, thereby enhancing consumer appeal and increasing their market value potential. Overall, the program had a positive impact on strengthening the MSME's technical competencies, improving product quality, and fostering entrepreneurial capacity. These outcomes demonstrate the potential of appropriate technology and product innovation to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of Blego Pak Mul Coffee MSME.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the numeracy literacy skills and understanding of Hijaiyah letters among students at SDI Khazanah Kebajikan through an interactive and engaging learning approach. The program was implemented in three stages: a pre-test, interactive training sessions, and a post-test, involving 44 elementary school students in a variety of group-based educational games. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis. The results demonstrated an improvement in students' average scores, increasing from 44.1 in the pre-test to 52.7 in the post-test. In addition to enhanced numeracy literacy, the students showed improved ability to recognize Hijaiyah letters and Arabic diacritical marks, as well as greater concentration, confidence, and willingness to participate in learning activities. The program also fostered positive character traits, including teamwork, honesty, and healthy competitive spirit. Overall, the training had a positive impact on improving elementary school students' numeracy literacy and foundational Arabic literacy through the implementation of interactive, game-based learning that was both engaging and meaningful.
