Abstract

This community service program aims to design and implement a cloud storage–based administrative management model integrated with a collaborative workspace using Notion for madrasahs affiliated with the Semarang City Private Madrasah Family Association (PKMAS). The program adopted a participatory approach consisting of needs assessment, model development, implementation through training and mentoring, evaluation, and monitoring to ensure the achievement of program objectives. The program resulted in an integrated, practical, and readily adoptable digital administrative management model for madrasahs. In addition, it enhanced the digital competencies of educational staff and promoted more collaborative administrative work practices. The implementation of the program led to improvements in participants' knowledge, digital skills, and administrative management efficiency. Evaluation results demonstrated increased participant competence following the training, with the mean understanding score increasing from 2 to 5 in digital administration, cloud storage utilization, and collaborative work, and from 0 to 4 in the use of Notion. Furthermore, 93.9% of participants reported satisfaction with the program. The program was implemented across 13 PKMAS-affiliated madrasahs and involved 33 participants, demonstrating its potential to support more integrated, efficient, and collaborative administrative management.

Abstract

This community service program aims to design and implement a web-based ordering and cashier system for LBC Laundry, an MSME in Malang, to improve operational efficiency, financial reporting accuracy, and information transparency for customers. The program was carried out through field observation, needs assessment using semi-structured interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with the business owner, system design based on a user-centered design (UCD) approach, iterative system development using the MERN Stack framework with CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) functionality, followed by training, mentoring, and evaluation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics by comparing key performance indicators before and after the program implementation. The results demonstrated an 80% improvement in transaction efficiency, with the average transaction time decreasing from 5 minutes to 1 minute per customer. In addition, data entry errors were reduced to zero throughout the one-month evaluation period, while the accuracy of financial reporting reached 100% through real-time reporting capabilities. The MSME owner provided positive feedback, indicating that the system simplified business operations and enhanced information transparency for customers. Furthermore, the system has the potential to be further developed into a mobile application to improve accessibility and support the long-term digital transformation of MSMEs.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve farmers' knowledge and skills in producing and applying botanical pesticides derived from lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) and betel leaves (Piper betle) as an environmentally friendly alternative for cocoa pest management. The program was implemented through educational outreach and hands-on training, with participant learning outcomes evaluated using pre-test and post-test assessments analyzed descriptively. The results demonstrated a high level of participant engagement throughout both the theoretical and practical sessions. Knowledge evaluation revealed a substantial improvement, with the average score increasing from 25% in the pre-test to 92% in the post-test, representing a 67-percentage-point gain. These findings indicate that the combination of lectures, group discussions, and practical demonstrations was effective in enhancing farmers' understanding of the production and application of botanical pesticides. In addition to strengthening farmers' capacities, the program introduced a safer, more affordable, and sustainable pest management alternative through the utilization of locally available natural resources.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance participants' knowledge and promote more energy-efficient electricity consumption practices among members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) group through training on the use of a web-based electricity consumption simulation application. The program was implemented through educational sessions, hands-on training, simulation exercises, and mentoring involving 35 PKK members in Sampora Village, Tangerang Regency. Program effectiveness was evaluated using pre-test and post-test assessments, direct observations, and participant satisfaction questionnaires. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' knowledge, with the mean score increasing from 56.8 before the training to 85.2 after the training, representing an increase of 28.4%. In addition, 91% of participants reported that the application was easy to use, 94% considered the training materials clear and easy to understand, and 89% expressed their willingness to adopt energy-saving practices in their daily household activities. Overall, the program successfully improved participants' energy literacy and basic digital competencies while equipping them with practical skills to estimate household electricity consumption, enabling them to make more informed decisions to reduce energy use and lower monthly electricity costs.

Abstract

This community service program aims to analyze the effectiveness of training and simulation in improving community members' understanding and implementation of occupational health and safety (OHS) practices in photovoltaic (PV) system installations. The program was conducted through four stages: preparation, feasibility assessment, implementation, and community outreach and training, with participant learning outcomes evaluated using pre-test and post-test assessments. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods by comparing pre-test and post-test results. The findings demonstrated a substantial improvement in participants' understanding, as reflected by an increase in test scores from 30–70 in the pre-test to 75–95 in the post-test. The training and simulation activities were effective in enhancing participants' knowledge, practical skills, and awareness of OHS practices related to PV system installations. Furthermore, the program improved the community's capacity to operate and maintain PV systems safely and effectively. These findings suggest that OHS training and simulation can serve as a sustainable community capacity-building model to promote the safe utilization of renewable energy, reduce the risk of occupational accidents, and foster a stronger culture of occupational health and safety within the community.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance MSME owners' understanding of marketing strategies, digital marketing, local cultural identity–based branding, and standard operating procedure (SOP)-based business management to strengthen the competitiveness of Plered Ceramic MSMEs. The program was implemented through a series of awareness sessions, training, mentoring, and evaluation activities. The training covered market segmentation, targeting, and positioning (STP), online selling strategies, marketplace utilization, digital promotion, product content development, and the preparation of simple standard operating procedures (SOPs). Program effectiveness was evaluated using pre-test and post-test instruments consisting of 10 knowledge indicators. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods by calculating the percentage of correct responses for each indicator, the mean pre-test and post-test scores, and the difference between the two. The results demonstrated a substantial improvement in participants' understanding, with the mean score increasing from 51.11% to 94.45%, representing a gain of 43.34 percentage points. Improvements were observed across all knowledge indicators, with the greatest gains in participants' understanding of marketplace utilization and the concept of standard operating procedures. Overall, the program represents an important initial step toward strengthening digital marketing capabilities, reinforcing consistent branding practices, and promoting more structured business management among Plered Ceramic MSMEs.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance teachers' pedagogical capacity through a Scientific Storytelling Workshop and to develop a Scientific Storytelling Teaching Module as a contextual instructional resource based on Indonesian folktales. The program involved five teachers and 30 students from the Indonesian School of Jeddah through a series of activities, including needs assessment, module development, workshop implementation, classroom application, and monitoring and evaluation. Program evaluation was conducted using qualitative analysis based on classroom observations and collaborative reflection with teachers to assess program implementation and module acceptability. The results showed that the workshop was implemented as planned, teachers were able to apply the module in science instruction, and a Scientific Storytelling Teaching Module was successfully developed. The module includes storytelling guidelines, inquiry-based questions, simple science experiments, student worksheets, and cultural reflection activities. Overall, the program supported more contextual science learning while promoting the integration of science literacy and cultural literacy within the school environment.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen feed supply chain management among laying hen farmers through the cultivation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae using organic waste as an alternative protein source. The program was implemented in Batu Mila Village, Enrekang Regency, involving 25 members of the Harapan Jaya Farmers Group. A participatory approach was employed through four stages: socialization, training, technology implementation, and mentoring. Program outcomes were evaluated using pre-test and post-test questionnaires, and the data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed improved participants' knowledge and skills in BSF cultivation, organic waste management, feed formulation, and farm business management. The established BSF production unit produced an average of 7.5 kg of fresh larvae, equivalent to approximately 1.5 kg of maggot meal per day, by utilizing 35–40 kg of organic waste daily. The program also strengthened the institutional capacity of the farmers' group through the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), production recording systems, and simple bookkeeping practices. Overall, the program enhanced farmers' capacity to utilize local resources, reduced dependence on commercial feed, and promoted the adoption of a more sustainable, circular economy-based feed supply system.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the Building Information Modeling (BIM) competencies of vocational teachers and students at SMKN 1 Lubuk Pakam and to support the integration of BIM into vocational building design education. The program was implemented through demonstrations, hands-on training, and curriculum integration assistance. A total of 16 participants, consisting of teachers and students from the Building Modeling and Information Design program, took part in the activities. Data were collected using a BIM knowledge test, a perception questionnaire, a teacher readiness questionnaire, and a practical assessment rubric for BIM modeling skills. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the data, while changes in participants' BIM knowledge were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed that the mean BIM knowledge score increased from 17.62 on the pre-test to 19.88 on the post-test. This improvement was statistically significant (p = 0.039), with a moderate effect size (0.65). Participants' perceptions of BIM also improved, with the mean score increasing from 3.44 to 4.09 and the proportion of responses in the high category rising from 51.3% to 90.0%. Teachers' readiness to integrate BIM into classroom instruction increased substantially, with the mean score rising from 2.00 to 4.36 and the proportion of high-category responses increasing from 13.9% to 94.0%. In addition, participants successfully applied fundamental BIM workflows and produced simple digital building models. These findings indicate that the program effectively enhanced participants' BIM knowledge, practical competencies, and teachers' readiness to integrate BIM into vocational learning. Nevertheless, sustained mentoring and advanced training are recommended to support the development of more complex BIM competencies and long-term curriculum implementation.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance family resilience awareness through interactive psychoeducational activities employing a character-strengthening approach for resilient parenting at TK Negeri Assalam Cilegon. The program involved 35 parents of kindergarten students as participants. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test questionnaires that measured four indicators: understanding of family resilience, parenting styles, parenting strategies, and strategies for strengthening the family's role based on the framework of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA). Scores were measured on a scale with a maximum value of 100%. The data were analyzed using the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) index. The results showed a substantial improvement in participants' knowledge, with the mean overall score increasing from 7.50% on the pre-test to 65.00% on the post-test. The greatest improvement was observed in the indicator measuring strategies for responding to children's failures, with an N-Gain score of 0.74 (high category). The overall mean N-Gain was 0.62, indicating a moderate level of improvement. These findings highlight the importance of integrating family resilience-based parenting programs into the school's ongoing educational agenda.
