Abstract

Background: Dengue fever (DHF) is one of the global health threats that needs serious attention, because this disease has a high morbidity and mortality rate and has the potential to cause extraordinary events (KLB). Dengue control activities that dengue control activities that are usually carried out are considered ineffective, especially there are negative impacts including the existence of resistance in vectors to insecticides. The use of Wolbachia bacteria is offered as an alternative that can be applied in dengue control especially to reduce the cases. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of Wolbachia in controlling dengue fever control of dengue hemorrhagic fever. Methods: This article used narrative literature review method using data and information from online search sites such as Google Scholar, Pubmed and Science Direct published between 2019-2023. Discussion: A total of 8 out of 11 articles reported a decrease in dengue cases in Wolbachia release sites ranging from 40% - 96%. Another 3 articles stated that Wolbachia influenced the ability of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes to transmit dengue virus. Conclusion: Wolbachia is effective for dengue hemorrhagic fever control.

Abstract

In Indonesia there are 50-75% cases of nausea and vomiting experienced by pregnant women in the first trimester or early in pregnancy. Emesis if not treated immediately will increase to hyperemesis and can result in impaired fetal growth, the fetus dies in the womb and the fetus can experience congenital abnormalities. Overcoming nausea and vomiting during pregnancy can be done through pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of ginger candy (Zingiber Officinale) on the frequency of emesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the Working Area of the Sukaresmi Public Health Center, Cianjur Regency, in 2023. The method used in this study was a Quasi Experimental Design research method with a Post-test Only Control Group Design approach which consisted of an experimental class, namely pregnant women who experienced emesis gravidarum were given ginger candy, while in the control class pregnant women who experienced emesis gravidarum were given candy containing contains no ginger or placebo. Sampling was done by accidental sampling. The sample taken was 62 respondents who were divided into 2 groups, namely 31 intervention groups and 31 control groups. Ginger candy was given to the intervention group while the control group was given sugar candy. The statistical test results, it was found that p value = 0.000 (p value ≤ 0.05) meaning that there was a significant influence between giving ginger candy (Zingiber officinale) on reducing emesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the working area of the Sukaresmi Health Center, Cianjur Regency, in 2023. The conclusion in this study is that there is an effect of giving ginger candy on emesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the Working Area of the Sukaresmi Public Health Center, Cianjur Regency, West Java in 2023.

Abstract

The global prevalence of adolescent anemia ranges from 40-88%. The incidence of anemia in adolescent girls in developing countries is around 53.7% of all adolescent girls, the largest prevalence occurs in African and Southeast Asian countries, (WHO, 2018)The prevalence of iron nutrition anemia in adolescent girls in Indonesia is 22.7%. (Indonesian Ministry of Health, 2021). Data from the 2012 Household Health Survey (SKRT) stated that the prevalence of anemia in adolescent girls aged 10-18 years was 57.1% and aged 19-45 years was 39.5%. Women have the highest risk of developing anemia, especially adolescent girls, which states that in 2012 the prevalence rate of anemia in adolescent girls in West Java was 51.7%, which is the highest prevalence among other provinces. Based on the data obtained, it is known that adolescent girls with risk of anemia in the Sman Cikeas Gunung Putri Bogor area are still fairly large, namely 25 people out of a total of 35 total samples interviewed. The research method used in this study is descriptive research, analytic with a qualitative approach cross sectional design, where the collection of independent variables and dependent variables is carried out at the same time. The research location was at Sman Cikeas Gunung Putri. The research subjects were all adolescent girls at Sman Cikeas Gunung Putri, Bogor. Data collection techniques used in this study were primary and secondary data collection techniques. Evaluation Results from interviews conducted by the author to 35 subject samples found 25 adolescent girls indicated to have general symptoms of anemia, from the results of these interviews it was found that these adolescent girls rarely consume nutritious foods, rarely consume fruits and vegetables, and are not compliant with the administration of TTD Output Evaluation Results based on the results of interviews, in the education of anemia recognition has been carried out as needed. However, based on the results of field observations, the target has not been achieved and there is no solution to providing anti-anemia products that are suitable for adolescent targets, so the handling and finding of solutions is still not optimal, this can be seen from the number of adolescent girls who are reluctant to consume TTD which does not run out as recommended. From the previous discussion, it shows that there are problems that arise in cases of anemia in adolescent girls so that development and innovation are needed that can better support handling cases of anemia in adolescent girls. Based on the recommendations proposed above, what is more needed and very important for now and in the future is the creation of an education system about anemia and innovating types of preventive products.

Abstract

The Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis) aims to improve patients' quality of life through a promotive and preventive approach. However, patient engagement in this program is influenced by various factors, such as knowledge, individual attitudes, family support, and healthcare worker support. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design involving 65 Prolanis participants, where data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using bivariate tests. The majority of respondents were female (76.9%) with a low educational level (78.5%), low knowledge (78.5%), positive attitudes (80%), family support (78.5%), and healthcare worker support (84.6%). Patient engagement in Prolanis reached 89.2%. Bivariate analysis showed that knowledge level was not significantly related to patient engagement (p-value 0.142). In contrast, individual attitudes (p-value 0.009), family support (p-value 0.001), and healthcare worker support (p-value 0.001) were significantly associated with patient engagement in Prolanis. The study concludes that family and healthcare worker support are the main factors in enhancing patient engagement in Prolanis. Therefore, interventions focused on increasing social support and strengthening patients' positive attitudes are essential to improve participation and the effectiveness of this program.

Abstract

Hypertension, commonly referred to as high blood pressure, is defined as having a systolic blood pressure >140 mmHg or a diastolic blood pressure >90 mmHg. In Indonesia, hypertension is one of the leading non-communicable diseases, with a reported 185,857 cases. Prolanis exercise is a non-pharmacological treatment method for reducing blood pressure, organized by BPJS Kesehatan. In the Prolanis Club at the Griya Antapani Health Center, there are 150 members diagnosed with hypertension. This study aims to determine the effect of Prolanis Exercise (Chronic Disease Management Program) on lowering blood pressure in patients with hypertension. This is a quasi-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 20 members of the Prolanis Club, selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using observation sheets, sphygmomanometers, and stethoscopes. The results, analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, showed that Prolanis exercise had a significant effect on reducing blood pressure. The average blood pressure before participating in Prolanis exercise was 146.50/96.00 mmHg, while after the exercise, it was 127.50/82.50 mmHg. The results of statistical tests obtained a p value of 0.001 (<0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of prolanis exercise (chronic disease management program), indicating a significant effect on blood pressure and a significant difference between pre- and post-intervention measurements. It is recommended that nurses at health centers incorporate Prolanis exercise into their regular programs to improve the quality of life for patients with hypertension.
