Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the legal regulation and effectiveness of the compensation training system in Batam Class IIB Women's Correctional Institution, with a focus on the social reintegration of drivers as responsible citizens. Methodology: The study uses normative and empirical legal analysis. Normative analysis includes a review of related legal documents, while empirical analysis includes interviews with community officers at the stalls concerned. Results: The findings show that the training system in prisons is in accordance with existing regulations, but its implementation is not optimal. Obstacles include inconsistency in regulatory provisions, time constraints, lack of experienced service, unsustainable systems, and lack of cooperation from drivers. Conclusions: Training at the Batam Class IIB Women's Prison is in accordance with regulations, but it is not optimal due to various obstacles. Improvement efforts are carried out through government support, partnerships with the private sector, as well as focusing on psychological rehabilitation and improving the skills of officers to improve the quality of services for inmates. Abstract

Purpose: The Abdimas team aims to empower Baduy women to read, write, and count, as well as provide health education related to PHBS and demonstrate a healthy toilet renovation Methodology/approach: The community service activities were carried out in Kanekes Village, Baduy Luar, from May to July 2024. The community service approach involved training 40 Baduy women to participate in health education and simple reading, writing, and counting training over three months, including building an example of a healthy toilet Results/findings: Of the 40 who participated until the final evaluation, only 15 remained. This is related to the constraints of the distance to the location, which is far from their homes (activities are centered at the Jaro official residence), and the establishment of a healthy place to wash, bathe, and use the restroom (MCK). Conclutions: The enthusiasm of Baduy women to improve family welfare and increase knowledge is very strong, but it requires support from the local government to assist residents by conducting reading, writing, and arithmetic classes in small groups in adjacent houses. Additionally, there is a need for financial support for the renovation of healthy public toilets. Limitations: The duration of the program may not be sufficient to measure the long-term impact on family well-being and changes in health behavior. Contribution: This community services provides a contextual approach to empowering women in indigenous communities such as Baduy Luar, which are typically seldom reached by modern education and health interventions

Abstract

Purpose: This community service aims to provide training and develop strategies to improve the quality of small businesses based on the classification of SMEs in Palembang, South Sumatra. Methodology/approach: This research was conducted using a sample of data from 15 printing MSMEs in Palembang. The methodology follows a systematic process involving classification and association analysis. Data attributes such as Business Status, Business Classification, Place of Birth, Age, Gender, Education, Occupation, Marital Status, and Domicile were selected and transformed for analysis. The classification and association algorithms were applied to reveal the relationships between variables, using relevant categorization such as age groups (e.g., early adulthood, late adulthood, etc.). Results/findings: The findings show that by categorizing and analyzing the attributes of the MSMEs, strategies effectively enhance their income and operational efficiency. Moreover, the study found that 76% of participants successfully implemented appropriate strategies following the training. On average, businesses experienced a 15% increase in income and a 20% improvement in production efficiency. Conclusions: This training significantly contributed to improving the performance of printing MSMEs in Palembang by enhancing entrepreneurs’ understanding of business classification, operational efficiency, and targeted development strategies. It also fostered collaboration and strengthened business networks to support MSME competitiveness. Limitations: The limitation lies in the sample size, which includes only 15 printing MSMEs. This may limit the generalizability of the findings to other MSMEs in different regions or industries. Additionally, the data collected is based on self-reported information, which could introduce bias or inaccuracies in the analysis. Contribution: This study contributes to SME development by emphasizing the importance of classification-based strategies. The findings offer valuable insights for policymakers, training organizations, and SME owners in creating more targeted, effective strategies to enhance SME performance in Palembang.

Methodology/approach: The method used in this training is by means of an interview first, then conducting training in accounting records to financial reporting in accordance with the regulations in force in Indonesia. Results/findings: The result of this training was that the orphanage owners felt awkward because so far they did not know that there were financial reporting standards specifically for orphanages, because they only recorded their finances in the form of cash receipts and cash expenditures, and even then it was done on the notice board in the orphanage. Conclusions: The results of this service are that the two orphanages only record their finances in the form of cash in and cash out, without following the applicable standards. Limitations: The limitations of this service are in terms of time, where this service is only carried out for one day at each orphanage, the background of the orphanage owner is a high school graduate, so it takes a lot of time for training in order to be able to implement ISAK 335 in preparing financial reports and finally only 2 orphanages were trained. Contribution: This service is useful for orphanages so that they can prepare financial reports in accordance with existing regulations, so that donors have more confidence in the performance of orphanages.
