Abstract

Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a vital role in shaping a child's character and morals, especially during the golden age period which is the peak time for development. This research aims to examine the importance of the role of parents and teachers as moral role models in early childhood education. The method used is a literature review (library research) by examining relevant literature, such as journals and scientific articles. The results of the study show that parents are the main role models in the family who, through emotional closeness and positive parenting styles, are capable of instilling moral and spiritual values in children. Meanwhile, teachers act as role models in the school environment, reinforcing the moral values that have been taught at home through their daily attitudes, words, and actions. Cooperation between parents and teachers is essential to create a conducive, consistent, and harmonious educational environment. Forms of cooperation include education, nurturing, effective communication, parental involvement in school activities, and monitoring the child's moral development. In conclusion, the role of both parents and teachers as moral role models is very important to shape a generation that is not only intellectually smart but also of noble character.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning medium in the form of the “Bisik Lalongklek” game to enhance the receptive language skills of children aged 4–5 years. Receptive language ability is crucial for young children to understand instructions, recognize vocabulary, and provide appropriate responses. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method, involving stages of problem identification, product design, expert validation, product revision, and both limited and extensive trials. The research subjects were group A children aged 4–5 years, with data collected through observation and documentation. Validation results from material and media experts indicated that the “Bisik Lalongklek” game falls within the “highly feasible” category, with an average feasibility percentage above 85%. The findings revealed that the children showed improvement in understanding instructions, recognizing vocabulary, and responding appropriately. This study demonstrates that integrating physical movement and traditional games can create enjoyable and meaningful learning experiences. The motor involvement and verbal interaction embedded in the game encourage children to be more active in processing information. Therefore, the “Bisik Lalongklek” game can serve as an innovative, educational learning medium aligned with the developmental characteristics of early childhood and can be effectively implemented by teachers in classroom learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the English vocabulary mastery of Group B children (aged 5–6 years) at TK Bhakti Siwi through guess-the-word games based on audio-visual media. The research background stems from the children’s limited vocabulary, characterized by low interest, participation, and ability to mention and understand simple words. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach following the Kemmis and McTaggart model over two cycles, involving 10 children (4 boys and 6 girls). Data were collected through observation, documentation, and informal interviews, and analyzed qualitatively and descriptively by comparing the results of the pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. The findings showed a significant improvement. In the pre-cycle, the average achievement was 0%, with nearly all children unable to name or understand vocabulary correctly. After Cycle I, the achievement increased to 20%, though not yet evenly distributed. In Cycle II, the achievement reached 80%, exceeding the minimum criterion in which at least 75% of children were categorized as A (Good). Almost all children were able to mention, understand, and use simple English words with more accurate pronunciation and confidence. The application of this medium also enhanced motivation, active participation, and enthusiasm, making it a suitable, interactive, and enjoyable strategy for English learning in early childhood education.

Abstract

This research examine the influence of market day activities on the development of expressive language skills in children age 5-6 years. The background of this research is based on the limited expressive language ability of children in understanding word meanings and constructing sentence structures. Market day activities are expected to serve as interactive and collaborative learning experiences that can enchance children’s expressive language skills. This research employed a Quasi Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research involved 15 children of TK Siti Aminah as a experimental group and 15 children of TK Baiturrahman as a control group. Pretest results showed there is significant differences between the two groups. However after the market day treatment and through hypothesis testing using the Mann Whitney U Test, a significant difference was found. The experimental group demonstrated a notable improvement in expressive language skills compared to the control group. These findings indicate that market day activities have a positive impact on the expressive language development of children aged 5-6 years.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low creative thinking skills of children at DWP Kemangsen Kindergarten. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of implementing fun cooking activities on the creative thinking skills of children aged 5-6 years at DWP Kemangsen Kindergarten. This study used a quantitative experimental approach with a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample and population in this study were all children aged 5-6 years at DWP Kemangsen Kindergarten, divided into two classes, each with 20 children. The data collection technique used was an observation sheet. The collected data consisted of pre-test and post-test scores from the control group and the experimental group, which received treatment through fun cooking activities in three sessions, each with a different fun cooking activity. The data were then analyzed and hypothesis tested using a Paired Sample T-Test. The analysis results showed a significance value <0.001, with a Sig. value of 0.001 less than 0.005, therefore, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. This indicates a significant change in the experimental group. The most significant improvement was in the fluency indicator, which is the child's ability to ask and answer many questions during the learning process. By rejecting H0 and accepting Ha, it can be concluded that the fun cooking treatment has an effect on the creative thinking skills of 5-6 year old children at DWP Kemangsen Kindergarten

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to enhance learning motivation among preschool-aged children. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by PRISMA standards, 9 empirical studies published between 2013 and 2023 were analyzed to examine the pedagogical impact of AR-PBL in early childhood education. The results reveal that AR increases sensory engagement and curiosity, while PBL encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and autonomy. Together, AR-PBL fosters deeper exploration, sustained attention, and task persistence in learners aged 4–7. Despite its benefits, implementation challenges persist, including lack of teacher training, limited infrastructure, and the need for culturally relevant content. The study highlights the potential of AR-PBL to transform traditional instruction, particularly in under-resourced rural settings like TK Masyitoh Bangkalan, where themes such as “recognizing nearby animals” can be enhanced through immersive, localized learning experiences. This review concludes that AR-PBL represents a promising educational innovation aligned with developmentally appropriate practices. Future research should focus on classroom-based trials and long-term impact studies. The findings provide practical recommendations for educators and developers to design engaging, accessible, and context-sensitive digital learning environments for early childhood learners.

Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is an innovative approach that fosters the creativity and skills of students within Islamic education. This study examines the implementation of PjBL strategies in the context of Islamic education as an effort to enhance students’ creativity. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, this study reviews relevant literature. The findings reveal that PjBL is not only effective in cultivating students’ creativity and active engagement but also strengthens spiritual, moral, and social dimensions through the integration of contextual projects. The implementation of PjBL highlights the shift in the teacher’s role from being a source of information to a facilitator, thereby promoting learning that is more participatory, collaborative, and connected to real-life contexts. Despite challenges such as limited resources, teacher readiness, and curriculum support, this study affirms that PjBL has the potential to serve as a strategic model for shaping visionary, adaptive, and ethically grounded Muslim generations. Thus, this research contributes theoretically by integrating Islamic values into the PjBL framework, and practically by offering guidance for educators in designing meaningful learning experiences that nurture both creativity and noble character.
