Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in rural areas face significant challenges in product innovation and quality consistency. This community empowerment program aimed to enhance the capacity of UMKM actors in Nekmese Village, South Amarasi District, Kupang Regency, through training in local food production, specifically developing chocolate and strawberry variants of banana chips. The method employed a participatory approach with experiential learning involving 34 UMKM actors (17 women and 17 men, aged 18-36 years). The training covered banana selection techniques, optimal frying temperature control (160-170°C), coating application methods, and sanitation standards. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test evaluations, direct observation, and interviews. Results showed significant improvements: knowledge scores increased by 93.5% (from 45.3 to 87.6), production capacity rose by 87.5% (from 8 kg to 15 kg per week), and product selling price increased by 67% (from IDR 15,000 to IDR 25,000 per 200g package). Quality consistency reached 90% compared to 45% previously, while weekly sales volume increased by 80% (from 25 to 45 packages). The program successfully achieved product diversification, enhanced technical skills, and improved economic impact for UMKM actors. Sustainable follow-up programs focusing on digital marketing training, cooperative formation, and continued technical assistance are recommended to maintain long-term development and competitive advantage in regional markets.

Abstract

The root of corruption lies in fostering an understanding of anti-corruption behaviour among students, which requires an understanding and application of anti-corruption values and principles from an early age. This issue is closely related to social control in educational and community environments, which forms the basis for prevention strategies. The younger generation is the nation's most valuable asset that will shape the future of Indonesia. This community service aims to instil the values of honesty, integrity, and social responsibility in students of SMP Negeri 3-SATAP Amarasi Selatan, as the nation's next generation, so that they develop a strong awareness of the dangers of corruption and cultivate anti-corruption attitudes from an early age. In addition, this activity aims to increase students' understanding of various forms of corruption in the school and community environment, as well as to shape characters who actively prevent and fight corrupt practices. The methods applied in this community service activity involve observation and learning through social interaction. The results of the study indicate that anti-corruption education with interactive educational methods such as presentations, group discussions, case simulations, and quizzes effectively increases students' understanding and commitment to the values of honesty, integrity, and social responsibility. It can be concluded that anti-corruption education is very important to be instilled in junior high school students from an early age. A follow-up to this activity is the importance of continuously integrating anti-corruption education into the school curriculum and extracurricular activities. Furthermore, teacher training is needed to reinforce integrity materials in teaching. Parental and community involvement is also crucial in supporting the development of children's character, free from the influence of corruption.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in the development of individuals and the nation. The goal of national education is to form quality, faithful, and noble human beings. Information technology has changed the learning landscape, with the internet and interactive multimedia offering easy access and an engaging learning experience. However, challenges remain, such as the traditional lecture method that makes students passive and less motivated. This service explores the use of the Zoom application as a solution to improve the quality of learning at Kelimutu Ende Private Middle School. Zoom, as a video communication platform, enables virtual face-to-face interaction between teachers and students, facilitating effective distance learning. Through training and mentoring, teachers at Kelimutu Ende Private Middle School have utilised Zoom to deliver learning materials, use interactive features, and evaluate student understanding. The results show that the implementation of Zoom has increased students' enthusiasm and interest in learning. They feel more motivated and involved in the learning process. Teachers also feel the benefits in delivering material more clearly and interactively. Thus, the Zoom application has proven to be an effective tool in improving the quality of learning at Kelimutu Ende Private Middle School, helping to achieve national education goals.

Abstract

One factor that contributes to the pathogenesis of almost all diseases, including PCOS, is stress. A study shows that one of the health needs required especially by adolescent girls is psycho-emotional services. In West Java Province, there are approximately one million high school and equivalent students in the 2022/2023 academic year. Of this number it includes students who pursue their upper secondary education in Sindangmulya District, such as SMK Bintang Harapan. Like high school students in general, students in these schools are vulnerable to stress stemming from the academic demands given by schools in the form of assignments with limited time. Among the recommended stress management techniques, some involve physical exercises, such as yoga. Based on this, education related to yoga as a stress management method needs to be implemented. The results obtained after this activity were an increase in the knowledge of female students regarding the implications of yoga for stress management, with a 79.3% increase in the percentage of students who achieved a perfect score, averaging 10.00.

Abstract

Village libraries play an important role as literacy centres within rural communities. A village library serves as a literacy initiative, bringing reading materials to strategically accessible locations in the community, with the aim of enhancing literacy levels and fostering reading interest. The methods employed in this activity included observation, interviews, and socialisation through a community-based approach that involved residents. The target group consisted of early childhood children, including those who had not yet entered school and those who were already attending school. The results show that the literacy skills of children who visited the village library improved, as reflected in the variety of books borrowed, their ability to engage in dialogue and convey the content of the books, as well as their ability to colour according to the instructions provided in the reading materials. The children’s enthusiasm for diverse reading materials serves as a strong indicator that should be taken into consideration in managing the village library, particularly in continuously providing new and relevant reading books.

Abstract

Palembang is known for its variety of traditional culinary products, including kue basah (traditional wet cakes), which serve both as a cultural identity and an economic opportunity for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). One of the main challenges faced by these MSMEs is low brand recall and brand recognition, particularly among younger consumers who rely on digital media as a reference for purchases. This community service activity aimed to empower kue basah MSMEs through digital innovation by implementing an interactive catalog based on Augmented Reality (AR) as a marketing strategy. The activity employed a participatory approach, including partner situation analysis, AR catalog design, product photography and AR training, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The training involved the owner and employees of MSMEs Bunda Rayya as well as members of the South Sumatra Cake and Culinary Entrepreneurs Association (Aspenku). The AR catalog enabled consumers to explore 3D product visuals, descriptions, and additional information interactively. Evaluation results showed an increase in the participants’ average score from 62 to 79, with paired t-test analysis indicating a highly significant difference (t(9) = 3.28; p < 0.01), demonstrating the effectiveness of the training in improving product photography skills and AR utilization. This activity enhanced MSMEs’ capacity for digital promotion, strengthened the cultural identity of Palembang’s culinary heritage, fostered consumer engagement, and expanded market opportunities. These findings provide a foundation for the development of sustainable empowerment programs and the replication of digital innovation in other traditional culinary MSMEs.
