Abstract

Hypertension is known as the "silent killer" and remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality globally. In Indonesia, the prevalence of hypertension is still high, particularly in rural areas where access to accurate health information is often limited. This Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat, or PkM) aimed to improve community health literacy and self-management skills related to hypertension prevention and control among residents of Cihanjuang Rahayu Village, West Bandung Regency. The PkM activities included basic health screening, interactive health education sessions (lectures, discussions, and demonstrations), and evaluation using a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test questionnaires on knowledge and behaviour. A total of approximately 35 participants were involved, consisting of older adults, health cadres, and individuals at risk for hypertension. The findings indicated a significant increase (p < .05) in participants’ knowledge scores, from a pre-test mean of 64.5 to a post-test mean of 89.2. The greatest improvement was observed in understanding lifestyle modification, especially the importance of a low-salt diet and medication adherence. The program successfully empowered the community by enhancing knowledge and awareness about hypertension prevention and management. Increased health literacy is expected to contribute to long-term behavioural change, supporting early detection and sustainable control of hypertension at the community level.

Abstract

Palembang city is known as a culinary destination with a variety of traditional cakes such as Kue Gandus, Ketan Kuning Serundeng, Kojo, Muso, and Srikaya, which are local cultural identities. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) like Dapoer Endungqu play an important role in preserving this culinary tradition, but face challenges in digital marketing and branding. This service activity aims to empower MSMEs through Augmented Reality (AR) technology to enhance the promotion and branding of traditional Palembang cake products. The implementation method uses a participatory approach that includes initial observation and identification of partner needs, product sampling, AR-based digital media design, and partner training and mentoring. The results show an increase in partner capacity in product photography, the use of interactive AR catalogues, and social media management, which strengthens visual appeal, consumer interaction, and promotional reach. The discussion confirms that AR effectively increases customer trust and loyalty without diminishing cultural value. The conclusion confirms that AR integration can strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs in the digital age. Follow-up includes further development of the AR application, periodic monitoring, and program expansion to other culinary MSMEs for innovation and sustainability.

Abstract

This community service project aims to describe the application of educational snakes and ladders games in enhancing children's understanding of integer operations within the Anmok Learning Group in Rewarangga Village. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with 20 elementary school students who are members of the Anmok Learning Group, data were collected through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results show that the educational snakes and ladders game effectively improves understanding of integer concepts, learning motivation, and social values such as cooperation and sportsmanship. Therefore, this game serves as a fun and engaging learning medium that also supports the development of children's numeracy literacy in non-formal learning environments. The use of educational snakes and ladders games can be positioned as one of the innovative learning strategies relevant to non-formal education contexts. This medium serves as an engaging learning tool that aligns instructional goals while supporting efforts to enhance children's numeracy literacy within the community. These findings recommend that educators and non-formal learning facilitators incorporate educational games in a planned and systematic manner as an alternative learning approach adapted to the characteristics of learners.

Abstract

Tendambonggi village has considerable agricultural potential, particularly in corn and peanuts. However, most farmers still use conventional methods, rely on a single crop, and lack the skills to manage their harvest into value-added products. This situation has resulted in agricultural production not being able to contribute optimally to improving the community’s economy. This program aims to utilize corn and peanut harvests as raw materials for the development of superior food products through training and assistance based on local innovation. Implementation methods include socialization activities, training in the manufacture of processing products such as corn tempeh, corn flour, and corn noodles, as well as training in the processing of fried peanuts as a food product unique to Tendambonggi Village. In addition, the program also integrates an agroecological approach through the use of natural organic fertilizers to improve soil fertility and reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers. The results show an increase in the community’s skills in processing crops into food products that are competitive in the market, as well as a growing awareness of the importance of innovation and agricultural sustainability. This activity is expected to encourage the formation of joint business units that manage corn and peanut processing independently and sustainably, while strengthening food security and the local economy in Tendambonggi Village.

Abstract

Adolescent smokers are a group particularly vulnerable to the negative effects of addictive and addictive substances in cigarettes, such as nicotine and tar. Limited understanding of the risks of smoking increases the likelihood of becoming active smokers or being affected by passive smoking and third-hand smoke. The Student Creativity Program was conducted at SMP Adhyaksa Ende, aiming to enhance students’ knowledge about the dangers of smoking through a simple and interactive practical approach. The activities included an initial presentation, a practicum demonstration using a plastic bottle filled with water with holes on the top and bottom, where a small pipe was installed at the bottom hole. Cotton at the bottle mouth served as a filter, while a cigarette was placed in the top hole to demonstrate the release of harmful substances. During the session, students were actively engaged through question-and-answer discussions regarding the effects of nicotine, tar, and passive smoking risks, making the learning process interactive. The results showed increased student awareness of smoking risks, their ability to identify harmful substances in cigarette smoke, and visual understanding of smoke dispersion and filtration. The discussion emphasizes the importance of combining demonstrative, participatory, and interactive methods to strengthen adolescents’ understanding and develop critical attitudes toward smoking.
