Abstract

This study aims to investigates the correlation between parenting styles and adolescent sexual behavior at SMA Negeri 3 Mataram using an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected from 69 11th-grade social science students via a questionnaire assessing parenting styles and sexual behavior. Results indicated that (1) 59.4% of respondents experienced permissive parenting, while 40.6% encountered democratic parenting; (2) respondents who have permissive parenting, 5.8% demonstrated negative sexual behavior, in contrast to the uniformly positive behavior observed in adolescents with democratic parenting; (3) the results of Fisher's exact test are a significance value of 0.141, indicating no statistically significant relationship between parenting styles and adolescent sexual behavior; (4) trend suggests that democratic parenting, which balances freedom and control, is associated with positive adolescent sexual behavior. Thus, these findings highlight the importance of promoting democratic parenting and comprehensive sexual education to reduce risky behaviors. Recognizing cultural nuances and enhancing parental involvement are essential for effective adolescent sexual health prevention strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the multicollinearity of environmental variables in the Bakongan-Bengkung Forest, part of the Leuser Ecosystem, to understand its implications for the habitat of key species such as Sumatran elephants, Sumatran rhinoceros, Sumatran tigers, and Sumatran orangutans. The research was conducted in August 2023 across an area of 75.912,46 hectares spanning three districts in Aceh. The data utilized includes elevation, slope, river density estimation, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), distance from roads, and annual rainfall, sourced from various geospatial datasets. Data processing was performed using ArcGIS 10.3, Google Earth Engine (GEE), and RStudio 4.2.2. Multicollinearity testing was carried out using Pearson correlation coefficients to identify relationships between environmental variables. The analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between elevation and annual rainfall, with a correlation coefficient of 0,724, indicating a strong linear relationship. This correlation suggests that higher elevations in the area are associated with increased rainfall, likely due to orographic effects. These findings are crucial for conservation planning and habitat management for wildlife. The correlation between elevation and annual rainfall should be considered when developing accurate habitat models for key species in the Bakongan-Bengkung Forest, to ensure effective and sustainable conservation strategies.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of Electronic Medical Records (ERM) implementation in healthcare facilities over the last decade, focusing on its benefits and challenges. ERM has significantly improved patient care quality, operational efficiency, and data security, providing fast and accurate access to medical information for clinical decision-making. However, despite these advantages, the adoption of ERM faces several technical and organizational challenges, including limited interoperability between systems and user resistance. A systematic literature review was conducted, analyzing studies from 2014-2024, to explore both the positive outcomes and barriers encountered during ERM implementation. The results indicate that while ERM reduces medical errors and enhances care coordination, particularly in managing chronic conditions, issues such as data privacy concerns and high implementation costs remain significant barriers. Recommendations to address these challenges include the development of standardized policies for system interoperability and comprehensive user training to facilitate adaptation. This study underscores the need for a more integrated approach that combines technical improvements with organizational support to maximize the potential benefits of ERM.

Abstract

Hypertension is number one worldwide disease which lead to death. Initially hypertension is caused by changes in the walls of blood vessels. These vascular changes are due to the accumulation of ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species). ROS is the result of the balance between antioxidants and oxidants, but uncontrolled conditions will cause vascular damage. One of ROS product from metabolism which could played role in downregulation antioxidant gene expression is hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide could be neutralized by catalase enzyme. Studies about catalase expression in hypertension subject is still limited. This research aims to determine mRNA relative expression catalase in hypertension. In this case control study, thrity subject hypertension and normotension subject were recruited within the age of 50-60 years. Hypertension subject was chosen according to JNC 8. Two millilitres vein blood was isolated into RNA. mRNA expression was detected by qRT PCR with 2 steps. Relative expression was determined using livak method. The data was analyzed using Mann Withney test with GraphPad software. Research results show that (1) catalase mRNA relative expression was 0,6 fold in hypertension; (2) catalase relative expression was not significantly lower in hypertension; (3) other antioxidants might have other mechanism to detoxify ROS and prevent hypertension.
