Abstract

ABSTRAKTsunami Gunung Krakatau yang terjadi pada tahun 2018 menyebabkan banyak perubahan kondisi pulau-pulau kecil, terutama kondisi ekosistem terumbu karang, namun informasi kondisi sebaran terumbu terumbu karang akibat gempa masih terbatas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memetakan sebaran terumbu karang secara spasial dan temporal dengan citra satelit Landsat 8 dan Sentinel-2 sebelum dan sesudah terjadi tsunami tahun 2018 dengan validasi lapangan untuk memastikan hasil pemetaan yang didapatkan.  Metode yang digunakan untuk memetakan sebaran terumbu karang yakni klasifikasi berbasis terbimbing atau supervised learning (SVM) menggunakan GEE dan ArcGis Pro. Hasil penelitian menunjukan dampak besar bencana tsunami yang mempengaruhi nilai luasan ekosistem terumbu karang di Pulau Sebesi, hal ini terlihat pada tahun 2018 luasan tutupan karang sebesar 178,8 Ha, tahun 2019 setelah tsunami mengalami penurunan dengan nilai tutupan berkisar 79,5 Ha. Jumlah tutupan karang setelah tsunami yaitu periode tahun 2020-2023 mengalami fluktuasi dengan tutupan karang secara berturut-turut yaitu 88,9 Ha, 64,2 Ha, 88,7 Ha, dan 70,3 Ha. Hasil pengamatan menunjukan penurunan tutupan karang sebelum dan setelah terjadinya tsunami berbanding terbalik dengan jumlah tutupan pasir yaitu seluas 45,4 Ha pada tahun 2018 dan mengalami peningkatan pada tahun 2019 menjadi 65,4 Ha. Perubahan luasan terumbu karang di Pulau Sebesi secara spasial dan temporal dalam kurun waktu enam tahun terakhir dipengaruhi oleh faktor manusia dan secara alami, namun penyumbang kerusakan tersebar diakibatkan oleh tsunami tahun 2018 dengan penurunan berkisar 99,3 Ha yang digantikan oleh substrat pasir yang terbawa oleh energi gelombang tsunami dan banyaknya rubble yang ditemukan di pesisir Pulau Sebesi akibat peristiwa bencana tsunami sehingga kedua faktor tersebut menjadi faktor utama yang menginformasikan penurunan tutupan karang secara signifikan di Pulau Sebesi selama kurun waktu enam tahun terakhir.Kata Kunci: Tsunami, Pulau Sebesi, Terumbu Karang, Sentinel 2, SVMABSTRACTThe Krakatoa Mountain Tsunami that occurred in 2018 brought about numerous changes in the conditions of small islands, especially the coral reef ecosystems. However, information regarding the distribution of coral reefs due to the earthquake is still limited. The purpose of this research is to spatially and temporally map the distribution of coral reefs using Landsat 8 and Sentinel-2 satellite imagery before and after the 2018 tsunami, with field validation to ensure the accuracy of the mapping results. The method used to map the coral reef distribution is supervised learning (SVM) based classification using Google Earth Engine (GEE) and ArcGIS Pro. The research results show a significant impact of the tsunami disaster on the coral reef ecosystem in Sebesi Island. In 2018, the coral cover area was 178.8 hectares, but in 2019, after the tsunami, it decreased to approximately 79.5 hectares. The coral cover in the post-tsunami period from 2020 to 2023 fluctuated with values of 88.9 hectares, 64.2 hectares, 88.7 hectares, and 70.3 hectares consecutively. Observations indicate that the decrease in coral cover before and after the tsunami is inversely related to the sand cover, which was 45.4 hectares in 2018 and increased to 65.4 hectares in 2019. Changes in the spatial and temporal extent of coral reefs in Sebesi Island over the past six years were influenced by both natural and human factors. However, the major contributor to the damage was the 2018 tsunami, causing a decrease of approximately 99.3 hectares, which was replaced by sand substrate carried by the tsunami wave energy and the abundance of rubble found on the coast of Sebesi Island as a result of the tsunami disaster. Abstract

ABSTRAKIkan merupakan bahan pangan yang mudah mengalami kebusukan. Penggunaan ekstrak tumbuhan yang tinggi akan senyawa bioaktif juga diharapkan dapat membantu mempertahankan mutu ikan selama penyimpanan suhu rendah. Ekstrak daun Rhizophora mucronata memiliki kandungan senyawa bioaktif dan bioaktivitas yang berpotensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan alami dalam pengawetan ikan terutama untuk mencegah kerusakan komposisi proksimat ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh penggunaan ekstrak daun R. mucronata terhadap komposisi proksimat fillet ikan tenggiri selama penyimpanan dingin. Daun R. mucronata diekstrak menggunakan etanol 70% dengan rasio 1:6 (b/v). Konsentrasi ekstrak yang digunakan untuk merendam fillet ikan tenggiri, yakni 0, 1, 3, dan 7%. Fillet ikan tenggiri disimpan selama 14 hari di dalam refrigerator (4 ± 2 °C) dan diamati pada hari ke- 0, 7, dan 14. Setiap waktu pengamatan, fillet dianalisis kadar air, kadar protein, kadar lemak, dan kadar abu. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun R. mucronata tidak berpengaruh signifikan (p 0,05) terhadap kadar air, kadar protein, kadar lemak, dan kadar abu fillet ikan tenggiri. Konsentrasi ekstrak daun R. mucronata yang digunakan belum cukup untuk mencegah dan menghambat kerusakan komposisi proksimat yang terjadi pada fillet ikan tenggiri selama penyimpanan dingin. Kadar protein dan lemak fillet ikan tenggiri menunjukkan kecenderungan menurun selama penyimpanan dingin karena adanya proses degradasi. Kadar abu penggunaan konsentrasi ekstrak 3% dan 7% menunjukkan kecenderungan meningkat karena adanya penurunan kadar air.Kata Kunci: Ekstrak mangrove, Kadar proksimat, Mutu ikan, Pengawet alami, ProteinABSTRACTFish is a type of food that is easily spoiled. The use of plant extracts high in bioactive compounds is expected to help maintain fish quality during low-temperature storage. Rhizophora mucronata leaves extract contains bioactive compounds and bioactivities that have the potential to be used as natural ingredients in fish preservation, especially to prevent damage to the proximate composition of fish. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of R. mucronata leaves extract on the proximate composition of narrow-barred spanish mackerel fillets during cold storage. R. mucronata leaves were extracted using 70% ethanol with a ratio of 1:6 (w/v). The extract concentrations used to soak narrow-barred spanish mackerel fillets were 0, 1, 3, and 7%. Narrow-barred spanish mackerel fillets were stored for 14 days in a refrigerator (4 ± 2 °C) and observed on days 0, 7, and 14. At each observation time, the fillets were analyzed for moisture content, protein content, fat content, and ash content. The results showed that the use of R. mucronata leaves extract had no significant effect (p 0.05) on the moisture content, protein content, fat content, and ash content of narrow-barred spanish mackerel fillets. The concentration of R. mucronata leaves extract used was not sufficient to prevent and inhibit the damage to the proximate composition that occurred in narrow-barred spanish mackerel fillets during cold storage. The  protein  and  fat content of narrow-barred spanish mackerel fillets showed a tendency to decrease during cold storage due to the degradation process. Abstract

ABSTRAKBudidaya ikan lele di Bangkalan mengalami kesulitan berupa biaya pakan yang tinggi dan keterbatasan lahan, dengan ini metode bioflok menjadi alternatif untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut karena mampu menghasilkan pakan alami dengan tambahan probiotik. Selain itu dapat memperbaiki kualitas air melalui bakteri Bacillus sp, mampu meningkatkan kelimpahan plankton, kadar nitrat dan menekan kadar ammonia pada budidaya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan probiotik fish pro terhadap kelimpahan, indeks keanekaragaman dan indeks dominansi plankton serta kandungan nitrat pada kolam budidaya bioflok. Data diperoleh dari 2 kolam yang memiliki perlakuan berupa penggunaan probiotik melalui pakan dan air. Pendataan penelitian ini dilakukan setiap 4 hari sekali. Hasil penelitian untuk kelimpahan plankton di kolam probiotik pada air lebih tinggi yaitu 53,5x105 – 17,05x106 Ind/L dibandingkan di kolam pada pakan yaitu 26,5x105 – 13,25x106 Ind/L. Indeks keanekaragaman plankton pada kedua kolam termasuk ke dalam kategori sedang (1 H’ 3), sedangkan indeks dominansi plankton untuk kedua kolam tergolong kategori rendah (0,00 C ≤ 0,50). Kadar nitrat di kolam probiotik pada air yaitu 2,07 mg/L – 17,63 mg/L lebih tinggi daripada kolam probiotik pada pakan, yaitu antara 2,85 mg/L – 14,42 mg/L. Penggunaan probiotik fish pro pada air berimplikasi positif terhadap kelimpahan, indeks keanekaragaman, dan indeks dominansi plankton serta menunjukkan hubungan positif terhadap ketersediaan nitrat di kolam budidaya bioflok. Kata Kunci: Probiotik fish pro, Metode Bioflok, Plankton, dan NitratABSTRACTCatfish cultivation in Bangkalan experiences difficulties in the form of high feed costs and limited land, with this biofloc method is an alternative to overcome these problems because it is able to produce natural feed with the addition of probiotics. In addition, it can improve water quality through Bacillus sp bacteria, able to increase plankton abundance, nitrate levels and reduce ammonia levels in cultivation. Therefore, the study aims to analyze the use of fish pro probiotics on abundance, diversity index and plankton dominance index as well as nitrate content in biofloc cultivation ponds. Data were obtained from 2 ponds that had treatment in the form of the use of probiotics through feed and water. Data collection for this research is carried out every 4 days. The results of the study for plankton abundance in probiotic ponds in water were higher, namely 53.5x105 – 17.05x106 Ind/L compared to ponds in feed, which was 26.5x105 – 13.25x106 Ind/L. The plankton diversity index in both ponds was included in the medium category (1 H' 3), while the plankton dominance index for both ponds was classified as low (0.00 C ≤ 0.50). The nitrate levels in probiotic pools in water are 2.07 mg/L – 17.63 mg/L higher than in probiotic pools in feed, which is between 2.85 mg/L – 14.42 mg/L. The use of probiotic fish pro in water has positive implications for abundance, diversity index, and plankton dominance index and shows a positive relationship with the availability of nitrates in biofloc aquaculture ponds.Keywords: Probiotic fish pro, Biofloc Method, Plankton, and Nitrate

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi mutu kimia dan kandungan senyawa bioaktif pada amplang ikan tongkol (Euthynnus affinis) yang difortifikasi dengan tepung rumput laut Eucheuma cottonii pada berbagai level penambahan (0 g, 5 g, 10 g, dan 15 g). Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknologi Hasil Perikanan STPL Palu dan Laboratorium FMIPA Universitas Tadulako. Analisis mutu kimia meliputi uji kadar air, abu, protein, lemak karbohidrat dan serat yang mengacu pada metode AOAC, 2005. Uji fitokimia untuk menentukan komponen bioaktif yang terkandung dalam suatu bahan yang meliputi pemeriksaan senyawa flavonoid, saponin, tanin, fenolik, triterpenoid, dan steroid. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung rumput laut meningkatkan kadar air (2,00–6,00%), abu (2,67–5,33%), protein (22,13–29,14%), karbohidrat (19,14–22,54%), dan serat kasar (0,96–3,90%). Sebaliknya, kadar lemak menurun seiring meningkatnya penambahan tepung rumput laut, dari 19,89% menjadi 17,49%. Uji fitokimia menunjukkan keberadaan senyawa bioaktif seperti flavonoid, saponin, polifenol, tanin, dan alkaloid pada perlakuan dengan penambahan tepung rumput laut, sedangkan steroid tidak terdeteksi. Senyawa-senyawa tersebut diketahui memiliki aktivitas antioksidan serta manfaat farmakologis penting, sehingga memperkuat potensi amplang ikan tongkol sebagai pangan fungsional. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa fortifikasi tepung rumput laut E. cottonii dapat meningkatkan nilai gizi, memperkaya serat, serta menambah kandungan senyawa bioaktif pada produk amplang ikan tongkol. Dengan demikian, inovasi ini berpotensi mendukung diversifikasi pangan berbasis sumber daya kelautan dan meningkatkan nilai tambah produk olahan ikan.Kata Kunci : Mutu Kimia, Amplang, Ikan Tongkol, Fortifikasi, Rumput LautABSTRACTThis study aimed to evaluate the chemical quality and bioactive compounds of amplang made from skipjack tuna (Euthynnus affinis) fortified with Eucheuma cottonii seaweed flour at various levels of addition (0 g, 5 g, 10 g, and 15 g). The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Fisheries Product Technology, STPL Palu, and the Laboratory of FMIPA, Tadulako University. Chemical quality analyses included moisture, ash, protein, lipid, carbohydrate, and crude fiber content based on AOAC (2005) methods. Phytochemical tests were carried out to identify the presence of bioactive components, including flavonoids, saponins, tannins, phenolics, triterpenoids, and steroids. The results showed that the addition of seaweed flour increased the levels of moisture (2.00–6.00%), ash (2.67–5.33%), protein (22.13–29.14%), carbohydrates (19.14–22.54%), and crude fiber (0.96–3.90%). Conversely, lipid content decreased with the increasing addition of seaweed flour, from 19.89% to 17.49%. All chemical quality parameters were still in accordance with the quality standards of SNI 7762-2013. Phytochemical analysis confirmed the presence of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, saponins, polyphenols, tannins, and alkaloids in the fortified samples, while steroids were not detected. These compounds are known to possess antioxidant activity and important pharmacological benefits, thereby reinforcing the potential of frigate tuna amplang as a functional food. The findings highlight that fortification with E. cottonii seaweed flour can enhance nutritional value, enrich fiber content, and increase the bioactive compounds of frigate tuna amplang. Abstract

ABSTRAKEkosistem mangrove penting untuk dijaga karena berfungsi mengontrol ketersediaan bahan organik di perairan pantai untuk menunjang kehidupan organisme di perairan laut. Kegiatan penanaman mangrove merupakan salah satu upaya menjaga kestabilan ekosistem, dengan cara merehabilitasi ekosistem mangrove di suatu kawasan. Tingkat keberhasilan hidup dan tingkat pertumbuhan menjadi acuan dalam penilaian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur tingkat kelangsungan hidup bibit mangrove Rhizophora sp yang ditanam di wilayah pesisir Kuala Samboja. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni – Oktober 2022. Pengukuran bibit dilakukan pada awal dan akhir penelitian. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data yang diperoleh terdiri dari bibit hidup dan mati, tinggi bibit, diameter bibit dan jumlah daun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kelangsungan hidup bibit mangrove sebesar 22%, yaitu dari 400 bibit pada awal pengukuran menjadi 89 bibit pada akhir pengukuran. Kondisi ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan tersebut memiliki tingkat keberhasilan hidup yang rendah. Pertumbuhan tinggi bibit 6,67%, diameter batang 21,4%, dan jumlah daun 4%. Mangrove planting activities are one of the efforts to maintain ecosystem stability, by rehabilitating mangrove ecosystems in an area. life success rate and growth rate become a reference in this assessment. This study aims to measure the survival rate of mangrove seedlings of the Rhizophora sp species planted in the coastal area of Kuala Samboja. The research was conducted in June - October 2022. Measurements of seedlings were carried out at the beginning and end of the research. The method used is a survey with a quantitative approach. The data obtained was in the form of live and dead seedlings, height, diameter of seedlings, and number of leaves. The results showed that the survival rate of mangrove seedlings was 22%, from 400 seedlings at the beginning of the measurement to 89 seedlings at the end of the measurement. This condition shows that these activities have a low life success rate. The growth of seedling height was 6.67%, stem diameter was 21.4%, and number of leaves was 4%. Abstract

ABSTRAK Pelabuhan perikanan memiliki peran strategis dalam mendukung operasional perikanan tangkap melalui penyediaan fasilitas, layanan perbekalan, dan sistem distribusi hasil tangkapan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis ketersediaan fasilitas, tingkat operasional, dan pola interaksi fungsional antara PPI Paotere dan PP Untia dalam sistem perikanan tangkap Kota Makassar. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-komparatif dengan dukungan data kuantitatif dan analisis spasial. Data primer diperoleh melalui observasi 28 indikator fasilitas berdasarkan Permen KP No. 08/2012 dan survei terhadap 45 responden, sedangkan data sekunder meliputi statistik produksi, kunjungan kapal, serta perbekalan melaut. Tingkat operasional dinilai menggunakan lima indikator utama (BBM, air bersih, es, frekuensi kunjungan kapal, dan volume produksi) dengan sistem skoring komparatif, serta dianalisis spasial menggunakan ArcGIS untuk melihat konektivitas antar pelabuhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PP Untia memiliki tingkat ketersediaan fasilitas lebih tinggi (84%) dibandingkan PPI Paotere (61%). Namun, PPI Paotere memiliki tingkat operasional lebih tinggi jauh melampaui PP Untia. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kelengkapan fasilitas tidak selalu sejalan dengan tingkat pemanfaatannya. Interaksi kedua pelabuhan bersifat komplementer, dengan Paotere sebagai pusat pendaratan utama dan Untia berpotensi sebagai pelabuhan perikanan penyangga. Integrasi fungsi, peningkatan aksebilitas, dan optimalisasi fasilitas pendukung diperlukan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan keberlanjutan sistem pelabuhan perikanan di Kota Makassar.Kata Kunci: Fasilitas; Interaksi fungsional; Operasional; Pelabuhan Perikanan ABSTRACTFishing ports play a strategic role in supporting capture fisheries operations through the provision of facilities, logistical services, and fish distribution systems. This study aims to analyze facility availability, operational performance, and the pattern of functional interaction between Paotere Fishing Port (PPI Paotere) and Untia Fishing Port (PP Untia) within the capture fisheries system of Makassar City. A descriptive-comparative approach supported by quantitative data and spatial analysis was employed. Primary data were obtained through observation of 28 facility indicators based on Indonesian Ministerial Regulation (Permen KP No. 08/2012) and a survey of 45 respondents, while secondary data included production statistics, vessel visits, and fishing supply volumes. Operational performance was assessed using five key indicators (fuel supply, freshwater, ice, vessel visit frequency, and production volume) through a comparative scoring system, and spatial analysis using ArcGIS was applied to examine connectivity between the two ports. The results indicate that PP Untia has a higher level of facility availability (84%) compared to PPI Paotere (61%). However, PPI Paotere demonstrates substantially higher operational performance, far exceeding that of PP Untia. These findings suggest that facility completeness does not necessarily correspond to higher utilization levels. The interaction between the two ports is complementary, with Paotere functioning as the primary landing center and Untia having the potential to serve as a supporting fishing port. Functional integration, improved accessibility, and optimization of supporting facilities are required to enhance efficiency and sustainability within Makassar’s fisheries port system.Keywords: Facilities; Functional interaction; Operational; Fishing port

Abstract

ABSTRAKPerkembangan media sosial telah mengubah strategi promosi pariwisata dari pendekatan konvensional menuju komunikasi visual berbasis digital. Salah satu platform yang berperan signifikan dalam promosi destinasi wisata adalah TikTok, khususnya melalui konten sinematik yang menonjolkan estetika visual dan storytelling. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana konten sinematik TikTok merepresentasikan dan mempromosikan wisata Pantai Gili Labak, Kabupaten Sumenep. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi terhadap video TikTok bertema Gili Labak. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan dokumentasi konten video, kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan elemen sinematik yang meliputi sudut pengambilan gambar, komposisi visual, warna, musik, narasi, dan alur cerita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konten sinematik TikTok mampu membangun citra positif destinasi wisata melalui visualisasi keindahan alam, penggunaan musik emosional, serta teknik pengambilan gambar yang estetik. Konten tersebut berperan dalam membentuk daya tarik wisata dan meningkatkan eksposur Pantai Gili Labak di ruang digital. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa konten sinematik TikTok memiliki potensi besar sebagai media promosi wisata berbasis visual dan storytelling.Kata Kunci: konten sinematik, TikTok, promosi wisata, media sosial, Gili Labak.ABSTRACTThe development of social media has transformed tourism promotion strategies from conventional approaches to digital-based visual communication. One platform that plays a significant role in promoting tourist destinations is TikTok, particularly through cinematic content that emphasizes visual aesthetics and storytelling. This study aims to analyze how cinematic TikTok content represents and promotes Gili Labak Beach tourism in Sumenep Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach using content analysis of TikTok videos themed around Gili Labak. Data were collected through observation and documentation of video content, then analyzed based on cinematic elements, including camera angles, visual composition, color, music, narration, and storytelling flow. The results indicate that cinematic TikTok content is able to build a positive image of the tourist destination through the visualization of natural beauty, the use of emotional music, and aesthetic filming techniques. Such content plays an important role in shaping tourist attraction and increasing the digital exposure of Gili Labak Beach. This study concludes that cinematic TikTok content has great potential as a visual- and storytelling-based tourism promotion medium.Keywords: cinematic content, TikTok, tourism promotion, social media, Gili Labak.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKomoditas perikanan khususnya benur tidak terlepas dari proses transportasi, akan tetapi pada proses ini sering ditemukan kendala mortalitas benur yang salah satu permasalahanya terkait dengan kepadatan yang berdampak pada persaingan ruang gerak konsumsi oksigen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui jumlah kepadatan optimal untuk benur udang vannamei (Litopenaeus vannamei) ukuran pl 7 pada pengangkutan sistem tertutup selama kurang lebih 7 jam pengangkutan. Rancangan yang dilakukan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 4 kali ulangan. Perlakuan a: kepadatan 2000 ekor/ liter, perlakuan b : 2500 ekor/L, perlakuan c : 3000 ekor/L, perlakuan d : 3500 ekor/L, perlakuan e : 4000 ekor/L, perlakuan f : 4500 ekor/L. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan benur vaname pl-7 diperoleh dari upbl situbondo yang kemudian dilakukan proses transportasi menuju ibap prigi dengan durasi waktu 7 jam. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan dan dianalisis dengan statistik didapati bahwa kepadatan yang berbeda berpengaruh nyata terhadap tingkat kelangsungan hidup benur vaname pl-7 pada pengangkutan dengan sistem basah tertutup dan perlakuan (a) memberi hasil tertinggi dengan nilai kelangsungan hidup sebesar 97,55%. Parameter kualitas air berada dalam kisaran normal yaitu suhu air berkisar antara 23-26 0C, salinitas 31 ppm, ph 7,1 -7,8 dan oksigen terlarut 4-6 ppmKata Kunci: benur, Kepadatan, Kelangsungan Hidup, Transportasi, vanameABSTRACTFishery commodities, especially fry, are inseparable from the transportation process, however, in this process, mortality problems of fry are often found, one of which is related to density which impacts competition for space for oxygen consumption. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal density for vannamei shrimp fry (Litopenaeus vannamei) size pl 7 in a closed system transportation for approximately 7 hours of transportation. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. Treatment a: density of 2000 individuals/liter, treatment b: 2500 individuals/liter, treatment c: 3000 individuals/liter, treatment d: 3500 individuals/liter, treatment e: 4000 individuals/liter, treatment f: 4500 individuals/liter. The sample of this study used vaname fry pl-7 obtained from UPBL Situbondo which was then transported to Ibap Prigi with a duration of 7 hours. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted and analyzed statistically, it was found that different desities significantly affected the survival rate of vaname pl-7 fry in transportation using a closed wet system and treatment (a) gave the highest results with a survival rate of 97.55%. Water quality parameters were within the normal range, namely water temperature ranging from 23-26 0C, salinity 31 ppm, pH 7.1-7.8 and dissolved oxygen 4-6 ppm.Keywords: Fry, Density, Survival, Transportation, Vaname

Abstract

ABSTRAKIkan caru (M. cordyla) merupakan salah satu spesies ikan pelagis yang memiliki nilai ekologis dan ekonomis penting di wilayah perikanan Kota Dumai. Namun, informasi ilmiah mengenai komposisi pakan dan pola makan spesies ini di perairan Dumai masih terbatas, sehingga diperlukan penelitian sebagai dasar pengelolaan perikanan yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komposisi makanan dan kebiasaan makan ikan caru berdasarkan isi lambung. Sebanyak 90 sampel ikan dianalisis menggunakan metode indeks preponderansi (IP) untuk menentukan jenis dan persentase pakan utamanya. Analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk menguraikan persentase volume dan frekuensi makanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makanan utama ikan caru adalah ikan senangin (E. tetradactylum) dengan nilai IP 52-80% pada seluruh kelas ukuran. Makanan pelengkap terdiri atas kerang darah (A. granosa), udang putih (P. merguiensis), dan detritus dengan nilai IP berkisar antara 1–26%. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa ikan caru memiliki sifat karnivora dan berperan sebagai predator tingkat menengah dalam rantai makanan pesisir. Hasil penelitian diharapkan menjadi dasar pengelolaan sumber daya ikan caru secara berkelanjutan di Perairan Kota Dumai serta berkontribusi dalam perumusan kebijakan dan strategi pengelolaan perikanan berbasis ekosistem.Kata kunci: Dumai, kebiasaan makan, isi lambung, ikan CaruABSTRACTTorpedo scad (Megalaspis cordyla) is one of the pelagic fish species with significant ecological and economic importance in the fisheries of Dumai City waters. However, scientific information regarding its diet composition and feeding habits in Dumai waters remains limited, necessitating research as a foundation for sustainable fisheries management. This study aimed to analyze the diet composition and feeding habits of torpedo scad based on stomach content analysis. A total of 90 fish samples were examined using the Index of Preponderance (IP) method to determine the main food items and their percentages. Descriptive analysis was applied to describe the volumetric percentage and frequency of occurrence of food items. The results showed that the primary diet of torpedo scad was fourfinger threadfin (Eleutheronema tetradactylum), with IP values exceeding 52–80% across all size classes. Supplementary food items included blood cockle (Anadara granosa), white shrimp (Penaeus merguiensis), and detritus, with IP values ranging from 1–26%. These findings indicate that torpedo scad exhibits carnivorous feeding behavior and functions as a mid-level predator in the coastal food web. The results are expected to serve as a scientific basis for sustainable management of torpedo scad resources in Dumai waters and to contribute to ecosystem-based fisheries management policies and strategies.Keyword: Dumai, feeding habits, stomach content, torpedo scad
