Abstract

English language skills of students are an important part of the quality of student learning in schools. This is considered important to support student competence as competent human resources in facing global progress. However, the low average English language score index still occurs in several schools, including Sekolah Alam Pangkal Pinang. Based on this, a Workshop on Developing Innovative Learning Models for Teachers and Implementing Innovative Learning Media was held by implementing more creative, innovative, and progressive learning models and methods at Sekolah Alam Pangkal Pinang. This activity was carried out using the service learning method through four stages of implementation, starting from investigation, preparation, action, and reflection. The results of this service implementation were the implementation of innovative learning models and methods by English teachers at Sekolah Alam Pangkal Pinang with improved learning outcomes based on the evaluation results carried out by the service team.

Abstract

Regional Public Service Agencies (BLUD) play a strategic role in supporting public services, particularly in the health sector. However, financial management in BLUD often faces challenges such as fraud risks and weak internal control systems. This Community Service Program aims to enhance the financial management capacity of BLUD managers in Pinrang Regency to prevent fraud. The methods employed include intensive training, case study simulations, technical assistance, and evaluation of the implementation of internal control systems. The results show improved participants' understanding of fraud concepts and the application of more effective prevention measures. Technical assistance enabled BLUD managers to design and implement internal control systems tailored to the needs of each unit. This program successfully fostered more transparent and accountable financial governance, supporting the sustainability of public services. As a follow-up, it is proposed that similar activities be conducted periodically to ensure the continuous improvement of BLUD managers' capabilities. Additionally, the development of digital platforms is recommended to support more integrated and efficient financial reporting. These steps are expected to strengthen BLUD financial governance in Pinrang Regency and serve as a model for adoption in other regions.

Abstract

Learning using technology is currently the main thing because it has entered the Society 5.0 era. This community service activity aims to provide opportunities for elementary school teachers in Cirebon City to conduct training on the use of augmented reality-based teaching media to support the development of their creativity and role in the learning process in the classroom. This activity has a target, namely teachers who are members of the Teacher Working Group Forum (FKKG) who are members of the board of directors of a total of 40 teachers from representatives of their respective schools in Cirebon City. This activity aims to: (1) develop the role of teachers in the digital economy era to better master technology in the learning process; (2) providing opportunities for elementary school teachers in Cirebon City to develop creativity in making interesting teaching materials; (3) facilitating teachers in creating digital augmented reality-based teaching materials; (4) utilizing AR technology to present interactive teaching media; and (5) support Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. This service activity uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method which includes activities that will be carried out ranging from identifying problems (to know), understanding (to understand), acting (to act), making changes (to change). The stages in this activity include (a) socialization and FGD; (b) the training process in several meetings; (c) the application of technology; (d) assistance and evaluation; (e) program sustainability, which provides broad opportunities for teachers to implement AR technology in learning and share knowledge with peers. The results of the training activities had a good response from the participants, including being able to increase the creativity of teachers in compiling AR learning media. In addition, the results of the questionnaire response have a score of 4.45 in the "excellent" category.

Abstract

The Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) phenomenon is increasingly troubling, especially for teenagers who actively use social media, such as Vocational High School (SMK) students. They are in an identity-seeking phase and tend to feel the need to be constantly connected to their social environment, especially on online platforms. While social media facilitates interaction with peers, overexposure can trigger anxiety and feelings of insecurity, which in turn impacts their mental and emotional health. The effects of FoMO are also seen in declining academic performance and social skills, as students spend more time paying attention to the lives of others rather than focusing on their personal tasks and achievements. To help students overcome FoMO, the service program at SMK Nasional Malang applies the experiential learning approach as a learning method that emphasizes the development of self-management. Through this training, students are trained to manage emotions, utilize personal experience as a learning medium, and cultivate the ability to control themselves from the temptation of constantly checking social media. Experiential learning strategy has been proven to improve students' abilities in cognitive and affective aspects, such as emotion management and teamwork. This approach is expected to reduce the negative impact of FoMO and strengthen students' awareness of the importance of balance between the online world and real life. This service includes socialization, case analysis, and training modules as practical steps to guide students in practicing self-management in the school environment. From the implementation of this service activity until completion, students are expected to not only be able to control their own behavior but also be able to share this positive influence with their peers. Hopefully, through school support and ongoing training, students can develop adequate digital literacy and self-management skills to cope with social media pressure and improve overall quality of life.

Abstract

Women Empowerment Through Healthy Pastry & Bakery Product Making Training at LSM Perempuan Binangkit Bandung is a community service program implemented by lecturers and students of the Pastry Processing Art Study Program, NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic. The purpose of this program is not only to improve the cooking skills and knowledge of the participants in order to improve the household economy, but it is also expected to be an alternative solution to solving the problem of increasing the risk of catastrophic diseases caused by inappropriate food intake and not in accordance with the recommendations of health institutions. This program is implemented using the cooking demonstration and hands-on practice methods. After the implementation of the healthy pastry & bakery product making training program, it can be concluded that the training participants became more skilled and knowledgeable in the process of making healthy pastry & bakery products which are expected to reduce the risk of catastrophic diseases.

Abstract

Knowledge continues to evolve, requiring teachers to innovate, particularly in implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum). Field observations indicate that many schools still struggle with its implementation, as they must tailor learning to students' individual characteristics. SMPN 03 Lebong in Bengkulu Province is one such school facing these challenges. Given these issues, an alternative solution is needed to support the independent implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka. One possible approach is to provide training for teachers at SMPN 03 Lebong on designing learning activities and practical worksheets based on the Prediction, Observation, and Explanation (POE) model. This training follows the I-CARE design, which consists of five stages: Introduction, Connection, Application, Reflection, and Extension. As a result, teachers successfully developed six learning designs and practical guides based on the POE model, utilizing available tools and materials from their surroundings. This initiative enhances student-centered learning, aligning with the objectives of the Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Pelatihan edukasi strategi ketahanan pangan keluarga melalui pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan dilaksanakan di Desa Labean, Kecamatan Balaesang, Kabupaten Donggala, sebagai upaya meningkatkan kemandirian pangan masyarakat. Kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan edukatif dan simulasi untuk memberikan pemahaman dan keterampilan praktis kepada masyarakat dalam mengoptimalkan pekarangan sebagai sumber pangan keluarga. Pada pendekatan edukatif, peserta diberikan materi mengenai pentingnya ketahanan pangan, teknik pengelolaan pekarangan, dan pengolahan limbah rumah tangga menjadi pupuk organik. Sedangkan pada pendekatan simulasi, peserta dilibatkan secara langsung dalam praktik bercocok tanam dengan memanfaatkan pekarangan rumah sebagai lokasi percontohan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan. Peserta mampu mengidentifikasi jenis tanaman yang sesuai, seperti sayuran, tanaman buah, dan tanaman obat, serta berhasil menerapkan teknik bercocok tanam sederhana, seperti tumpangsari dan vertikultur. Selain itu, pelatihan ini mendorong terbentuknya kelompok tani pekarangan sebagai langkah keberlanjutan program. Pelatihan ini membuktikan bahwa strategi pemanfaatan pekarangan dapat menjadi solusi efektif dalam meningkatkan ketahanan pangan keluarga, sekaligus mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan dan perekonomian lokal.

Abstract

Food is an essential need for humans, especially school-age children. School-age children generally have PJAS (School Children's Snacks). However, PJAS is very vulnerable to the risk of contamination which can harm the consumers. Therefore, efforts must be made to increase children's knowledge about food safety. ASUH (safe, healthy, whole and halal) food can be selected to ensure the safety of raw food materials. Meanwhile, CEK KLIK can be done for snacks and packaged foods. This socialization aims to increase understanding of food safety which includes ASUH Food and snack-food safety among the children of the Rumah Sejuta Mimpi Community. The implementation of this service activity consists of 3 stages, namely the preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. The methods used at the implementation stage included interactive lecture methods and discussions regarding ASUH Food, Safe Snacks and CEK KLIK, and demonstrations on making cassava and tuna fish fritters from local ingredients. Based on the results of the evaluation using the question-and-answer method, the results showed that 53% of children could answer correctly, 17% answered with hesitation or errors and 30% of children could not answer the questions correctly. Meanwhile, the results of the presentation showed that there was 1 group that got a score of 100% doing CEK CLIK, 2 groups got a score of 87.5% and 2 groups got a score of 75%. Follow-up recommendations that can be made are the continuation of practicing the knowledge children in this community have gained, strengthening the role of the community as food safety advocates and increasing the role of parents/guardians of children in the community to obtain information and supervision related to food safety.

Abstract

Aflatoxin is a type of fungus that infects corn kernels and can reduce their quality. Aflatoxin contamination can lead to a decline in corn prices at the collector level, negatively impacting farmers' income. To address this issue, efforts are needed to enhance farmers' understanding and skills in cultivation techniques and post-harvest handling to suppress aflatoxin growth. One of the measures taken is training farmers in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Handling Practices (GHP). This program aims to expand farmers' knowledge and equip them with proper cultivation techniques and appropriate post-harvest handling methods. The training materials cover aflatoxin control strategies, suitable storage methods, and cultivation practices that help maintain corn quality. The training results indicate that this initiative positively contributes to increasing farmers' awareness and knowledge regarding the importance of applying correct techniques to prevent aflatoxin contamination. By implementing better techniques, farmers are expected to minimize the risk of corn price declines caused by aflatoxin contamination. This can help them maintain price stability and increase their income from higher-quality harvested corn.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus has become a serious health problem in Powelua Village with a prevalence of more than 15% of the adult population, accompanied by complications in vital organs and a high economic burden because the cost of treatment reaches IDR 1.5 million per month per patient. The community service program was implemented through comprehensive education on the use of red gedi to overcome diabetes complications, using lecture methods, interactive discussions, and practical demonstrations. Program evaluation was conducted through questionnaires distributed to 61 participants to measure the level of satisfaction and understanding. The evaluation results showed that the level of participant satisfaction reached an average of 84% (very good category), with three indicators reaching the very good category (80-100%) including the method of delivering material (100%), ease of understanding the material (100%), and the ability of the presenter to answer questions (80%). This program has succeeded in increasing community understanding of the use of red gedi as a safe and affordable alternative treatment for diabetes, although program adjustments are still needed to meet community expectations in future activities.
