Abstract

Majority of farmers in Ketapang 1.  Rantau Panjang District  are accustomed to using inorganic chemical fertilizers and a few use organic fertilizers. Excessive use of chemical fertilizers will have a negative effect on soil fertility, physically, chemically and biologically. Infertile soil can cause the soil to become hard and cause plant roots to develop less well and disrupt nutrient absorption, so that the production of all plants will decrease, therefore to increase soil fertility you can use organic fertilizer enriched with Azospirillum bacteria (N-fixing bacteria from air) and phosphate and potassium solubilizing bacteria. This organic fertilizer enriched with bacteria more quickly contributes the NPK nutrients needed by plants. This activity was carried out in Ketapang 1 village, Rantau Panjang District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, in the form of counseling and demonstration of the application of organic fertilizer enriched with bacteria. Knowledge about organic fertilizer enriched with bacteria is very beneficial to society to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, to make the soil more loose and fertile and crop production can increase.

Abstract

Tilapia is one of the freshwater fish that has been successfully cultivated by the people of Macang Sakti Village. Tilapia is rich in protein, fat, carbohydrates and other micronutrients that are good for growth and health. However, the high production rate of tilapia is not accompanied by the interest of the local community. This is because people prefer to consume wild freshwater fish obtained from rivers or swamps around. To increase consumer interest in tilapia, innovation is needed in the form of processing tilapia into fish nuggets by empowering women's groups as business actors. This effort also aims to increase family economic income. The location of Community Service was carried out in Macang Sakti Village, Sanga Desa District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, on October 22-26, 2023. The methods used were survey methods, counseling, discussions and demonstrations (practices) of processing tilapia into tilapia nuggets. The implementation of the activity was attended by more than 15 participants from among housewives with great enthusiasm. The results of this community service show that community service activities can increase participants' knowledge about the nutrition and benefits of tilapia and motivate them to actively consume and become entrepreneurs in tilapia processed products in the form of tilapia nuggets.

Abstract

Improving the pedagogical competence of Catholic Religious Education teachers in Karo District's elementary schools is typically carried out through Teacher Working Groups (KKG) or workshops. Workshops for teachers usually focus on developing instructional materials. The implementation of Community Service (PkM) aims to enhance the pedagogical competence of teachers in planning and conducting lessons, organizing educational teaching methods, and utilizing information technology in teaching. The PkM activities consist of a two-day training session followed by two months of mentoring. The results show a significant improvement in the indicators of teachers' pedagogical competence, while partner satisfaction evaluations reflect the positive impact of these activities. It is expected that the Director General of Catholic Religious Affairs will ensure that each teacher competency improvement program includes concrete steps and a continuous monitoring and evaluation system to ensure the effective sustainability of pedagogical competence enhancement.

Abstract

Photography, as a combination of art and technology, represents the evolution of the field of fine arts in general, which is interdependent. The scientific aspect of the method of creating photographic works lies in its logical explanation, including the narrative structure and intrinsic qualities of the photographic results. This activity uses several methods, such as counseling or outreach methods, by providing material on creating photographic works for beginners and professional photographers and practicing creating photographic works for around 40 participants at the Bulungan Blok M Theater at 13.00 WIB. Participants are members of the Jakarta International Photo Festival (JIPFEST) photography community, which includes individuals with various levels of ability and photography educational backgrounds. This systematic approach is actively implemented by the JIPFEST community, a group of photography enthusiasts who regularly hold exhibitions, workshops, and mentoring sessions. The aim of this PKM is to equip participants with the ability to design photographic works with a strong message as well as develop appropriate concept elaborations. From training activities that provide a concrete approach to developing photographic works of art, including the steps in creating photographic works, it has proven to be effective as an important instrument in creating photographic works that not only convey a solid concept but also succeed in conveying a clear message. Both beginners and professional photographers can use these stages as a foundation for their creative process and improve their abilities in creating photography.

Abstract

Information Technology and Communication played a important role in the execution of tasks by the Agricultural Extension and Research Agency (BPP). BPP Air Sijorman, located in Asahan Regency, was previously without a website. A community service initiative was undertaken to design a website for BPP Air Sijorman, serving as a platform for agricultural extension and the dissemination of information. The process commenced with socialization and the identification of system needs, followed by website design, implementation, and user training.  The website was conceptualized using CorelDRAW and physically designed by aligning the graphics with the source code on the website. The implemented system resulted in the creation of the BPP Air Sijorman website, which was accessible via both desktop and mobile devices at http://bpp-airjoman.website/beranda.html. The website offered information on farming guidelines, the latest news, agricultural policies, and the BPP profile, accessible through various menus. The response from both BPP and farmers to the BPP Air Sijorman website was highly positive. On average, participants in the training sessions demonstrated the ability to operationalize and effectively use the website. Participants also expressed satisfaction with the website's visually appealing design, user-friendly interface, informative content, simplicity, and easily understandable instructions. This positive feedback underscored the effectiveness of the implemented website, making it a valuable tool for agricultural extension and information dissemination.
