Abstract

Gempolpendowo Village in Glagah District, Lamongan Regency, boasts abundant tilapia fish production but often faces price declines during peak harvests. This community service activity aims to improve the community's skills in fish processing diversification through training in tilapia floss production, packaging, and marketing strategies. The implementation method included preparation, outreach, hands-on training, mentoring discussions, and evaluation. The activity results demonstrated improved community skills in fish processing, a significant increase in the selling price from IDR 15,000/kg to IDR 40,000–50,000 per 250 grams of floss, and a growing entrepreneurial spirit, especially among housewives. The floss product has a longer shelf life and the potential for developing flavor variations to meet market needs. This activity is important because it not only increases community income and strengthens the village economy but also supports food security. Therefore, further assistance in digital marketing, branding, and product licensing is still needed for business sustainability.

Abstract

This community service program aims to increase the productivity of melon and watermelon plantations in Lalolang Village, Tanete Rilau District, Barru Regency, through the use of mini tractors or mini cultivators. The project partners are farmer groups that have relied on manual tillage using hoes and animal power, resulting in suboptimal time efficiency and yields. The intervention involved introducing mini tractors as a modern, fuel-efficient and easy-to-operate agricultural mechanization tool. Activities included outreach on the benefits of the equipment, training on its use and maintenance, and hands-on practice on partner farms. Initial results indicate an increase in tillage efficiency of up to 60% and a 40% reduction in labor costs. Furthermore, farmers gained experience with new technologies, contributing to increased crop productivity and income. This program also has implications for increasing farmer groups' independence in land management and accelerating the adoption of sustainable agricultural technologies at the local level.

Abstract

Food security in rural areas remains a challenge due to limited land and agricultural technology. The KKN program in Grinting Village, Tulangan District, introduced aquaponics as an integrated system combining tilapia farming and vegetable cultivation. The community was actively involved in installation, water flow repair, fish stocking, and maintenance. A total of 20 respondents participated through training and surveys. Evaluation showed an 85% success rate with good growth of fish and vegetables, despite technical issues such as pipe leakage and water quality fluctuations. This program indicates that aquaponics can be a sustainable solution for food security with continued training and village government support.

Abstract

Traditional food-based Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) hold substantial potential for strengthening local economies and enhancing community welfare, particularly within the informal sector, including the Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUBE) Amesiu located in Amesiu Village, Southeast Sulawesi. This cooperative consists of 20 productive housewives engaged in traditional food production. One of the main challenges faced by the group is the lack of digitalization, both in financial management (E-COUNT) and marketing (E-COMMERCE). The primary objective of this community engagement program was to strengthen the digital capacity of KUBE Amesiu through training on the use of E-COUNT and E-COMMERCE applications. The method employed was a technical guidance and mentoring approach (Bimbingan Teknis/Bintek). The results indicate that the implementation of the training on financial management using E-COUNT and online marketing through E-COMMERCE was well received, as evidenced by the full participation of all members. Prior to this program, KUBE members did not maintain systematic financial records of daily transactions and had not yet promoted or marketed their products widely, resulting in relatively low income levels.

Abstract

Sumber Rejeki Village, Watubangga District, has a coastal character that contributes to family lifestyles. The goal of this community service (PKM) is to improve anemia literacy and Menstrual Health Management (MHM) among female students of SMPN Satap 1 Watubangga through educational outreach. This Community Service used a one-group pre-post design with a slide- and leaflet-based outreach approach without pharmacological intervention. The population was female adolescents in grades VII–IX; a total sampling of participants was conducted (N=18; July 2025; session duration 75–90 minutes). The variables assessed were Knowledge (K), Attitude (A), and Intention to Practice. The instrument consisted of a brief KAP questionnaire (5 items on the true/false K scale, 5 items on the Likert scale 1–5, and 3 items on the intention to practice). The average score increased from 63.9% (pre-session) to 91.1% (post-session) (Δ=+27.2 percentage points; t(17)=5.34; d=1.26—large effect size). The category composition shifted from Good=6, Fair=7, Poor=5 to Good=16, Fair=2, Poor=0 at post-session. The single-session, slide- and leaflet-based outreach program had a significant impact on improving anemia and MHM literacy among adolescent girls.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that remains a major public health challenge in Indonesia, including in Siak Regency. This activity aimed to analyze the effectiveness of stunting education in improving mothers’ knowledge of toddlers at Posyandu Sentosa, Jati Baru Village. The method used was health education with pre-test and post-test questionnaires administered to 25 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was a validated and reliable questionnaire on knowledge about stunting. The educational session was delivered using PowerPoint media through direct presentation and interactive discussion methods. The results showed an increase in mothers’ knowledge after the education, with the average pre-test score of 7.44 rising to 10.40 on the post-test (a difference of 2.96 points). This finding indicates that the educational activity effectively improved mothers’ understanding of balanced nutrition, proper parenting, and healthy living behaviors. In conclusion, stunting prevention education positively influences mothers’ knowledge and strengthens the role of Posyandu as a strategic platform for promotive and preventive efforts at the village level.

Abstract

The existence of Legal Aid Posts (POSBAKUM) is regulated by Supreme Court Regulation Number 1 of 2014 concerning Guidelines for Providing Legal Services for Disadvantaged People in Court. The legal counseling method is a communicative approach carried out through the systematic delivery of juridical information by sources to the audience. Another critical finding was the public's confusion when it was explained that there were three channels for providing legal aid in operation: POSBAKUM in court, OBH accredited by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and independent legal aid institutions. Community service activities regarding the role of legal aid institutions in handling civil cases in Karawang Regency reveal a critical gap between the normative guarantees of Law Number 16 of 2011 and the reality of accessibility of justice for underprivileged communities. Based on the findings and critical reflections from this service activity, a series of comprehensive and sustainable strategic actions are needed to optimize the role of legal aid institutions in ensuring access to justice for underprivileged communities in Karawang Regency.

Abstract

One strategic approach to supporting maternal, child, and environmental health is enhancing breastfeeding literacy among adolescents. However, education efforts are often limited to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. During World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) 2025 at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surabaya, an intervention was conducted to raise awareness among female adolescents about the importance of breastfeeding. More than 100 students participated in the “Tree of Hope” activity, which included presentations, discussions, and breastfeeding simulations. Evaluation results showed a 46% increase in understanding and strengthened commitment among participants to support breastfeeding practices. Teachers and students also received educational leaflets and a DIGIbook as learning resources. Aligned with the WBW 2025 theme, “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems,” this program reinforced the role of adolescents as part of a long-term breastfeeding support ecosystem and fostered early preventive values and social empathy through a multimodal approach combining education, practice, and reflective participation.
