Abstract

Quality of education can be realized if the learning process takes place properly. Success in education is highly determined by the teacher performance. Teacher performance can be affected by several factors such as the length of teaching experience which often attend the training and work motivation whether in intrinsic or extrinsic that will be produced qualified learners. This research aims to describe the impact of teaching experience and work motivation to the performance of biology teacher certification of SMA Negeri in Palu and to depict the impact of teaching experience and work motivation simultaneously to the performance  of biology teacher certification of SMA Negeri in Palu. The method of the research was survey with descriptive quantitative approach. The sampling technique was saturated sampling technique which the entire population used as a sample. Observation variable were teaching experience, work motivation and teacher performance. The research instrument was questionnaire with multiple regresission analysis technique. The result of the research showed that teaching experience has a significant impact on the performance of certified biology teacher with value 0,001, work motivation has a significant impact on the performanceof certified biology teacher with value 0,000, teaching experience and work motivation concurrently have significant impact on teacher performance of certified biology teacher with value 0,000.

Abstract

The number of dengue fever patient created the apprehension from some sides. Some efforts have been done by the government starting from theterminated the vector that causes the illness i.e; eradication of wiggler, fogging, larviciding abatization and counseling about healthy behavior to residents. This research was conducted to decrease the number of wiggler or even destroy it in breeding places to decrease number of dengue fever patients. For the long term, this study aims to improve the cognitive and affective abilities of the resident and affective ability to the resident in destroying the wigglers which causes the dengue fever. This study conducted to research and development study. For the first step, the researcher did the survey, collect and analyze the data about residents’ behavior in destroying the wiggler. Second step, the researcher developed the participatory counseling to develop public awareness in destroying the wiggler. The existence of some society element such as; the head of household, RT, RW, Dasa Wisma community, Majelis Taklim, lurah, camat, Jumatik and health workers have their own effort in decreasing the wiggler. The less of their participation is exactly became the main reason of the existence of dengue fever which seems cannot be controlled by the citizen so there is always dengue fever in the society. Keywords : participatory counseling, dengue fever, wiggler

Abstract

Kopyor is one of the most valuable germplasm in Indonesia. However, the production of true-to-type seedlings with 100 % kopyor nuts is still limited because the nut would not germinated naturally. The only technique available to solve the problem is by using embryo culture technique. However, the technique is limited especially on the low of success rate after acclimatisation step (less than 40 %). Therefore, we report a new breakthough technique for producing kopyor seedling using embryo culture technique especially on acclimatisation step. Our results showed that the best acclimatisation step could be done by culturing 4-month old seedlings in a culture room with 14 hour light with intensity around 1400 lux and 10 hours in the dark. Seedlings were cultured for three months in mini growth chamber with 95 % relative humidity level and temperature around 26 to 28 0C. The survival rate after acclimatisation step on the seedlings with full root was more than 95 %, while for the seedlings without root was c.a 90 %. The acclimatized seedlings then underwent to screenhouse for 1 year befor being field planting. Up to now, more than 170 seedlings of Kopyor have been transfer to the field for developing seed garden of Kopyor in Purwokerto, Indonesia. In the future, creating a breeding program to produce hybrid of Kopyor will be useful for poverty reduction programmes in Indonesia. Keywords: acclimatization, growth chamber, hybrid of kopyor, seed genebank

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' critical thinking in cognitive style reflective, impulsive, fast accurate and slowly inaccurate in Grade VIII G students in the even semester of SMP Negeri 7 Tuban academic year 2016/2017 on the subject matter of motion in plants. The subjects of the study were students of class VIII G of 32 students whose results reflective cognitive-style students consisted of 13 students, students whose cognitiveimpulsive style consisted of 3 students, cognitive-style students with accurate accuracy consisting of 8 students and students whose cognitive style was slowly inaccurate Consists of 8. Type of this research is descriptive explorative research conducted in two stages of preparation and implementation phase. Data collection techniques are by cognitive style test and critical thinking test. The data taken is the result of cognitive style of students by using MFFT instrument whose final result is divided into 4 plots, and the result of critical thinking of the students by using the instrument of description description measured by nonparametric stastistik with Kruskal-Wallis test. The result of the research shows that there is no average difference in students with critical thinking ability in reflective, impulsive, fast accurate and slow inaccurate style. Thus it can be concluded that does not show the difference in the average results of students' critical thinking ability reflective, impulsive, fast accurately and slowly inaccurate by learning model Student Facilitator And Explaining with media handout.

Abstract

The species richness of birds had been documented in an observation period, but this preliminary data was inadequate.Additional data were needed so the result could be utilized as a standard to measure the success of reclamation and revegetation. The aim of the research was to update the species richness of birds inthe ex-coal-mining area reclaimed and revegetatedin 1996/1997 andto compare bird species among observation periods (PP).The birds were observed in 3 PPsthrough observation plot andwalking survey in the habitat type of acasia forest (HA), sengon forest (HS), trembesi forest (HT), mixed forest (HC), shrub - bush (SB), open land – grasses (LTPR), andwaters (PA). Bird status was categorized in accordance with valid regulations. Overall 76 bird species were found, but the number fluctuated in every PP. There were47 species in PP-1,62 in PP-2, and61 in PP-3. Of 76 species, 16 speciesare protected by PP 7/1999; 2 speciesare vulnerable, 3 are near threatened, andothers are least-concern species according to IUCN; 5 speciesare in Appendice II andothers are non-appendiceaccording to CITES; and36speciesare likely to be residents.Species andthe number of birds in the revegetated area of 1996/1997 were not as much as those of the primary (undisturbed) forest, but could be used as a minimumstandard for the other reclamation and revegetationareasin the concession of PT Adaro Indonesia

Abstract

In Indonesia, increased critical land reached 24 million hectares, showed that the rate of damage landresources is worried due to the less- controlled management. Thus, the widespread critical land need to beidentified to set the factors causes.Various type of land used as an indicator of damaged, so it takes effort torestore critical land into potential land. One of solution is harnessing the earthworm interaction pattern withenvironment. Earthworms as a decomposers of ground plant litter and soil organic matter, then digested andexcreted in the form of casting. The ability of these animals in consuming ground plant litter as a food wasdepend on the availability preferred of the litter,ultimately depend on carbon and nitrogent suply. Earthwormfeces is called casting, allegedly contains nutrients levels of N, P, and K. Understood that earthworms arepotentially to expounds of organic matter into small particle. The observation showed that soil had earthwormwith large quantities supposed the soil fertility caused create aeration and prevented on soil compaction.Earthworms in turn stimulate soil nutrient mineralization and s oil organic material saving. Organicmaterials improving the physical soil, biological soil and increase the nutrient suply for plants. In the cycle oforganic materials, earthworm as a fragmentator, as an fragmentation of the decomposition process of plantlitter in the soil surface. The ground plant litter in the moist soil undergoes fragmentation much faster thandry soil. The earthworms also as stimulator humification, the process of destruction and mixing of chemicallyagainst particles of organic into humus. Generally, the diversity of earthworms sustainability of ecosystemexposure to elevated carbon and mediated nitrogen cycling, as well as modify the structure of the soil andmoisture. In ecosystem, the interactions between component has mutual effect and dynamic relation. Thismeans that the relationship between components isn’t simple and static, but extremely variable and changed.

Abstract

Colletotrichum capsici dan Erysiphe cichoracearum are two species pathogenic molds species on cultivation plants especially vegetables plant. The fungus can be controlled by the antagonist molds Trichoderma spp.. This research used Trichoderma viride, T. atroviride, and T. harzianum as antagonist molds. This research was done for: 1) analize the difference antagonism effect of antagonist molds Trichoderma spp. towards pathogenic molds C. capsici dan E. cichoracearum, 2) determine the Trichoderma species that have highest antagonism effect towards C. capsici danE. cichoracearum, 3) examine the antagonism mechanism of Trichoderma spp. towards kapang C. capsicidanE. cichoracearum based on the microscopic observation. The research methods use dual culture method by inoculate the antagonist mold : Trichoderma viride, T. atroviride, and T. harzianum  and pathogenic mold, are: C. capsici dan E. Cichoracearumcolony pieceson PDA plate medium in pairs, then incubated on 25o-27oC for 4 x24 hours. Afterwards the antagonism effect of Trichoderma spp. towardsC. capsici andE. cichoracearumwere analyzed quantitative descriptive. The antagonism mechanism observed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).  The research results are: 1) there was difference antagonism effect of Trichoderma spp. towards C. capsici dan E. cichoracearum. 2) T. harzianum has the highest antagonism effect towards C. capsici as well as towards  E. cichoracearum, 3) The antagonism mechanism of Trichoderma spp. towards C. capsici and E. cichoracearum by are mycoparasitism,  the Trichoderma hyphae attach, penetrate, and coiling the C. capsici andE. cichoracearum hyphae

Abstract

Asesmen portofolio sangat penting  untuk implementasi pembelajaran terpadu  model jaring laba-laba (webbed) dalam pembelajaran tematik di sekolah dasar Kelas Awal   Melalui pembelajaran terpadu  jaring laba-laba (webbed)  beberapa kompetensi dari beberapa bidang studi diikat dalam satu tema, sehingga pembelajaran tersebut akan menjadi optimal jika siswa dituntun untuk menghasilkan karya-karya yang sesuai dengan yang dituntut dalam kompetesi dari setiap mata pelajaran tersebut. Semua hasil karya tersebut adalah merupakan dokumen yang harus dinilai oleh guru sehingga siswa merefleksinya dan menjadi layak untuk disebut sebagai asesesmen portofolio. Pemahaman guru tentang asesesmen portofolio masih berada pada kategori rendah, sehingga perlu kegiatan untuk memecahkan permasalahan ini. Minimnya pemahaman terindikasi yaitu selama ini guru belum merencanakan apa saja karya yang harus dihasilkan siswa terkait pembelajaran terpadu jaring laba-laba (webbed). Selama ini dokumen portofolio yang ada hanya berupa kumpulan hasil ulangan atau gambar-gambar yang banyak ditemukan tidak relevan dengan tema atau terutama kompetensi yang  seharusnya dicapai siswa. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut sehingga tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui kendala yang dihadapi guru dalam penilaian portofolio dengan model pembelajaran terpadu jaring laba-laba (Webbed) pada SD kelas awal  di wilayah perbatasan Kalimantan Timur dan Utara. Penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif melibatkan 58 orang, terdiri dari kepala sekolah dan guru di Kabupaten Nunukan dan Kutai Barat. Pennetuan sampel guru dan kelapala sekolah menggunakan sampel purposive. Teknik pengambilan data melalui wawancara dan analisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif melalui pengkatagorisasian dalam tabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan permasalahan guru di wilayah perbatasan terkait assesment portofolio adalah dalam pembelajaran terpadu jaring laba-laba (Webbed) di SD kelas awal wilayah perbatasan Timur dan Utara adalah pada penetapan dokumen portofolio, memasukkan asessment portofolio dalam RPP, melaksanakan penilaian portofolio dalam pembelajaran, menilaian hasil portofolio sebagai karya dan pencapaian kompetensi siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini maka perlu menembangakan assessment portofolio berbasis karakteristik wilayah sebagai pustaka guru dalam peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan terkait assessment portofolio.Keywords: Asesmen Portofolio, Pembelajaran Terpadu Webbed, Kelas Awal, Wilayah Perbatasan

Abstract

Teaching materials that support practicum activities are practical guides. The result of observation at SMPN 1 Brondong shows that the practicum guide used has deficiencies in terms of component completeness. This study aims to: 1) produce qualified practical intructions water pollution based on guided inquiry (valid, practical and effective); 2) to describe the validity, practicality and effectiveness of guided inquiry guide. This research is a development research using Four-D development model, however, in this research and development, activities are carried out only until the development stage. The results of research and development show: 1) produce qualified practical intructions water pollution based on guided inquiry developed based on guided inquiry activity; 2) the validity test results from the categorized experts of the category "very valid (81%)", the results of practicality test result 93% showed practical instructions used practical, the results of the effectiveness test to get 0.65 results on Gain score, students' learning completeness classic obtained percentage 90% indicate effective practice manual and student responses to categorical guidance is very good with a percentage of 98%.

Abstract

This study was carried out aiming to develop a learning model "GenDerAng" in high school physics learning , especially SMA level . The learning model "GenDerAng" is a high school physics learning model that applying the concept of stimulus by Generate-Derivate-and Accomplishing the interest and motivation of female students in physics lessons to improve their understanding of the concepts that are considered complex. Generate , Derivate , and Accomplishing a core processing stages of learning model " GenDerAng" start of apperception in the form of raise female studentsinterest in physics (Generate), a decrease of physics concepts that are considered complex for female students (Derivate), and ends with the achievement of students understanding women on the concept (Accomplishing). Implementation of learning models performed “GenDerAng” in science grade 12 in Avicenna Jagakarsa high school, the concept of electrostatic forces by analyzing the results using statistics descriptive. Keywords: generate , derivate , accomplishing , interest ,understanding
