Abstract

This research background is based on preliminary study of SMAN 15 Padang students. the first discovery showed there were many students has difficulty in interpersonal communication; in message delivery or unclear information and inproper information receiving, the delivered information hurt other people, and there was also different mind and opinion which caused conflict, and less of attitude implementery while comunicating. this research is aimed to (1) disclose the differences of interpersonal communication difficulty in experimental group students before and after joining group counseling using transactional analysis approach, (2) disclose differences of interpersonal communication difficulties analisis transaksional control grup students before and after joining group counseling,  and (3) reveal differences in interpersonal communication difficulties of experimental group students who follow group counseling using a transactional analysis approach with group counseling without special treatment. This research used quantitative approach, with experimental method, while the chosen research design is quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group design as the model. There were 10 groups of experiment samples and 10 people for group control. The sample used purposive sampling. The instrument that used for the research is a likert scale model, the data was analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov Two Independent Samples with SPSS 26.00 version. The result of research showed that (1) there were significant interpersonal communication difficulties in experimental  group of students before and after group counseling treatment by using transactional analysis approach, (2) there were significant differences of interpersonal communication difficulties in experimental students group before and after group counseling treatment without special treatment, (3) there were significant differences of interpersonal communication difficulties in experimental students group which given counseling treatment by using transactional analysis approach and without special treatment. To conclude, group counseling by using transactional analysis approach is more effective to  decrease students' interpersonal communication difficulties.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the presence of symptoms that appear in adolescents at the Bening Nurani Padang Foster Home who do not yet have the ability to make sense of the events and life events they experience and make adolescents sink and dissolve in misery, without the flexibility to rise.. Religiosity and social support are factors that are thought to influence adolescent resilience. Religiosity and social support are factors that are thought to influence adolescent resilience. This study aims to analyze: 1) religiosity, social support, and adolescent resilience, 2) the relationship between religiosity and adolescent resilience, 3) the relationship between social support and adolescent resilience, and 4) the relationship between religiosity and social support together with youth resilience. This research uses a quantitative descriptive correlational method. Respondents in this study were adolescents at the Bening Nurani Padang Foster Home. The research sample was taken as a whole from the existing population with a total of 97 people. The research instrument used a questionnaire with a Likert scale model. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, simple regression and multiple regression. The research findings show that: (1) on average, adolescent religiosity is in the high category, (2) social support is in the high category, (3) adolescent resilience is in the high category, (4)there is a positive and significant relationship between religiosity and adolescent resilience, (5) there is a positive and significant relationship between social support and adolescent resilience, and (6) there is a positive and significant relationship between religiosity and social support and adolescent resilience.

Abstract

This study objective to describe self efficacy , task aversiveness and procrastination of academic, to analyze the influences between self efficacy to procrastination of academic and to analyze the relationship between task aversiveness to procrastination of academic. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods. The population in this study were student with a sample of 236 people. From result testing hypothesis seen that self efficacy and task aversiveness take effect significant to behavior procrastination academic.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analyze the differences in students' self-adjustment in learning the experimental group before and after attending the group guidance service using a behavioristic approach with modeling techniques, (2) analyzing the differences in student adjustment in learning the control group before and after attending the group guidance service. without special treatment, (3) analyzing the difference between students' adjustment in learning the experimental group and the control group after participating in group guidance services using a behavioristic approach with modeling techniques compared to the control group following group guidance without special treatment. The research method used is quantitative research. This type of research is Quasi Experiment Design. The population in this study was 218 students, using the Slovin formula to 141 students, then from the results of the overall data taken 22 students who were divided into 11 students for the experimental group and 11 students for the control group. Sampling used Simple Random Sampling. The research instrument used a Likert Scale model, the data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov with the help of SPSS version 20.00. The results showed that (1) there were differences in students' self-adjustment in learning the experimental group before and after taking group guidance using a behavioristic approach with modeling techniques, (2) there were differences in student adjustment in learning the control group before and after taking group guidance without special treatment. , (3) there are differences in student adjustment in learning the experimental group who followed group guidance using a behavioristic approach with modeling techniques compared to the control group who was given group guidance without special treatment.

Abstract

The spread of Covid-19 is rapidly expanding to all parts of the world, causing changes in activity patterns in all sectors of life, one of which is the education sector. This study aims to describe and develop integrated thematic teaching materials using a contextual approach to improve the self-control of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 21 Lubuk Lintah which are valid, practical, and effective. This type of research is development using a modified 4-D model. Based on the results of the study, the average score for the assessment of integrated thematic teaching materials uses a contextual approach with a validity value of 89.4% in the valid category. From the results of practicality by the teacher obtaining results of 87.5% in the practical category and from the results of practicality by students obtaining results of 84.5% in the practical category. The results of the effectiveness of using teaching materials get an average of 0.74 in the effective category. It can be concluded that the thematic teaching materials use a contextual approach to increase self-control of fifth grade elementary school students which is valid, practical, and effective and can increase students' self-control in preventing Covid-19.

Abstract

The rational emotive behavioral approaches as one of the curative services through group counseling in schools that can alleviate problems faced by learners in an educational setting aims to help learners improve and change perceptions, ways of thinking, and irrational beliefs from the perception of the perspective on the problem to more flexible and rational (realistic) beliefs and more adaptive changes in the behavioral and emotional consequences experienced, to develop themselves and achieve optimal self-realization. The method used in this study is a literature review. The purpose of this study is to find out psychological problems in education that can be intervened with counseling through the rational approach of behavioral emotive, knowing the stages of implementing group counseling with a rational emotive behavioral approach, and the application of the rational emotive behavioral approach in group counseling in an educational setting. Psychological problems in education that can be intervened with counseling through a rational emotive behavioral approach are problems of aggression, anxiety, negative thinking, perfectionism, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, emotional disorders, learning disabilities, low academic achievement, and academic performance. The process of implementing group counseling with a rational emotive behavioral approach in educational settings is carried out with the main stages adjusted to ABCDE theory, namely the beginning stage, middle stage, and an ending stage. The application of a rational emotive behavioral approach in group counseling in an educational setting is the counseling of groups into responsive services in helping students who experience difficulties who need to be assisted in identifying problems, finding alternative problem-solving, and making decisions.

Abstract

Sexual violence often occurs, not only within the family, social, and educational institutions. Sexual violence victims frequently experience various unpleasant impacts, such as physical, psychological, and social impacts. However, the are expected to be able to defend themselves overcome, go throught, to survive and be able to return to their normal condition after they experienced an unpleasant experience. This study aims to (1) design expressive art therapy that can be applied to sexual violence victims to increase their resilience skill; (2) to knowing the effectiveness of expressive art therapy in increase resilience skill, especially for sexual violence victims. The research design used was a mixed method research design with an explanatory sequenstial designs. The research subjects consisted of a single subject case with the A-B method, with measuring the baseline and conditions when the treatment was carried out. The results show that expressive art therapy is effective in increasing the resilience of victims of sexual violence. This is indicated by an increase in scores in baseline conditions and after treatment was given. Keywords: Expressive Art Therapy, Resilience, Sexual Violence, Victims, Mixed Method

Abstract

Mental health disorders in students universities can make students uncomfortable living their daily lives. Mental health disorders will also impact the lectures attended by students. Students who experience mental health disorders tend to be uncomfortable and confused in attending lectures it will impact the low learning outcomes obtained by students. Counseling services in tertiary institutions play an important role in helping students deal with mental health disorders. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The purpose of this study was to describe mental health disorders experienced by students in West Sumatra Province throughout 2023. The data used in this study were individual counseling results report data at Universitas Negeri Padang counseling center throughout 2023. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study showed that of the 26 students who received counseling services, 1 (3.84%) experienced hopelessness in life, 2 (7.69%) experienced anti-social, 15 (57.70%) experienced academic stress, 5 (19.23%) experienced academic anxiety, and three students (11.54%) experienced excessive anxiety about the future. This study also describes the procedures for counseling services in tertiary institutions in dealing with students' mental health disorders.

Abstract

Feelings of anxiety and restlessness in students result in an inability to adapt, resulting in culture shock. The inability to adapt affects a person's psychology in problem solving, learning and the individual's habits. This research aims to describe culture shock in the affective, behavioral and cognitive dimensions. This research method uses descriptive quantitative with numbers subject 25 active students from Papua at Padang State University. The results of the research show that the culture shock picture of students from Papua at UNP is in the medium category with an overall percentage of 96%. Based on the research results, the implications that can be provided are, orientation services, information services, individual counseling services, group counseling services using relevant counseling approaches.

Abstract

Communication between teenagers in the social environment and school environment has now mastered technology that uses internet networks, namely social media. One type of social media is TikTok. Social media which is used as a tool to shape a person's image becomes an encouragement for a broader view of something. Self-image is the way a person sees himself, a person's reflection or picture of himself. This research is motivated by individuals who have different self-images, some have positive and negative self-images, as well as the self-images of men and women. This research aims to test whether there are differences in the self-image of male students and female students who use TikTok. The research method used is a quantitative method with a comparative descriptive approach because it looks at the differences between male and female students. The sample for this research was 254 students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang who were selected using proportional stratified random sampling techniques. The results of the research show that there is no significant difference between the self-image of male and female students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang.
