Abstract

This study aims to identify the form and analyze the function and implications of interjection in the anthology of the short story Mimpi Bayang Jingga by Sanie B. Kuncoro on Indonesian language learning. Using a descriptive qualitative research method with a see-and-take technique, this study found eight types of interjections with a total of 80 appearances that reflected various emotional expressions of the characters, such as astonishment, annoyance, sadness, joy, and invitation. Analysis using matching methods and PUP techniques shows that interjection in texts serves not only as a linguistic element, but also as a stylistic device that reinforces the characterization and atmosphere of the story. The results of this study have implications for Indonesian language learning, especially in the use of literary texts as an authentic learning resource to train students' ability to recognize, understand, and use interjection in real contexts, as well as foster appreciation of literature and character values through expressive and reflective language.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the inheritance law systems in Aceh (Indonesia) and Pattani (Thailand), two regions with strong historical, cultural, and Islamic backgrounds. Aceh implements Islamic inheritance law integrated into the national legal system through the Sharia Court, while the Muslim community of Pattani practices Islamic inheritance law in a limited manner within the context of Thailand's secular national law. This study employed qualitative methods with a juridical-normative and sociological approach, through literature review, analysis of legislation, and an examination of social practices. The results show that although both regions adhere to the principles of Islamic inheritance law, there are significant differences in their application and formal legal force. In Aceh, Islamic inheritance law has strong legal legitimacy and is recognized by the state, while in Pattani, its application is more cultural and depends on the agreement of families and religious leaders. This research is expected to contribute to the comparative study of Islamic law and an understanding of the dynamics of the application of Islamic inheritance law in Muslim-majority and minority regions.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of transformational and transactional leadership styles on the performance of zakat officers (amil) in zakat institutions in Medan City, with Total Quality Management (TQM) examined as a mediating variable. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 31 amil zakat through a structured questionnaire, and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS to test direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results reveal that both transformational and transactional leadership significantly affect amil performance, but transformational leadership exerts a stronger impact in driving performance and supporting TQM implementation. TQM itself plays a critical mediating role, amplifying the influence of both leadership styles on performance outcomes. These findings suggest that leadership effectiveness in zakat institutions is not solely determined by leaders’ behavior but also depends on the organization’s ability to institutionalize comprehensive quality management practices. The study enriches the understanding that combining visionary, inspirational, and adaptive leadership with a quality-oriented organizational culture is key to fostering professionalism and accountability among amil zakat. This research contributes practically by highlighting the importance of prioritizing transformational leadership supported by consistent TQM application as a relevant strategy to enhance governance, transparency, and public trust in zakat institutions in Medan

Abstract

The fact that more than half of the new Community Officers at Bank Syariah Nasional leave the company within their first three months is a big problem. A lot of these early resignations can be traced back to the fact that rookie officers had a hard time meeting performance goals during this time. To meet this challenge, BSN has put in place a twenty-one-day onboarding program that includes microlearning using the Learning SHARIA mobile app. This strategy can be used with employees who are located in different parts of the world, and it is scalable. However, its speediness in accelerating the acquisition of early skills has not been well-tested yet. This paper examines how microlearning can be used to promote the perception of competence in the context of the onboarding process as well as the mediating role of motivation and supervisory support in this specific interaction. The information collected on 392 participants was analyzed using a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling approach. The findings indicate that exposure to microlearning in itself does not play a significant role in improving the level of competence. The effect of the use of smart devices can be observed when learning activities are effectively used to influence the motivation of learners, which in turn results in a significant direct positive impact on perceived competence. Supervisor support is also ranked as a key determinant, as it has a direct impact on the motivation of learners, and the top management approval is essential to the successful use of microlearning programs. Remarkably, the completion of modules, learning days on the platform, and quiz grades are considered insufficient measures of real learning results in this specific situation. The research finds that microlearning is effective, but it requires support from supervisors who can inspire and direct new employee. Practical recommendations include refining onboarding indicators in line with the Kirkpatrick evaluation model, applying the Pareto principle to identify and prioritize the most influential learning modules, and enhancing coaching practices among supervisors.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the dynamics of inner conflict and the search for meaning in life experienced by the character Jaka in the novel Wuni through a humanistic psychology approach. Inner conflict in the novel functions not merely as a narrative aesthetic element, but also as a representation of the character’s existential struggle in confronting social pressures, past trauma, and inherited cultural and spiritual values. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method using content analysis techniques applied to the novel text. The data consist of narrative units containing inner conflict and the search for meaning in life, which are systematically coded to enhance analytical validity. The findings indicate that Jaka’s inner conflict is closely related to his inability to fulfill fundamental psychological needs, such as safety, social acceptance, and self-esteem. These conflicts subsequently drive the character into a process of searching for meaning through inner reflection, spiritual experiences, and confrontation with ancestral heritage. This process ultimately leads Jaka toward self-acceptance and self-actualization, as conceptualized in humanistic psychological theory. The findings affirm that Wuni represents literature as a medium of human reflection that integrates psychological, cultural, and spiritual dimensions. This study is expected to enrich literary studies grounded in humanistic psychology and contribute to literature education oriented toward the development of humanistic values.

Abstract

UMKM and creative entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of the Indonesian economy. However, the reality on the ground shows that the majority of UMKM remain micro-scale. Most tend to be subsistence, operate in the informal sector, are not connected to broader supply chains, have minimal access to formal financing, and are highly vulnerable to external shocks. Therefore, a method is needed to emphasize that regional economic independence is determined more by innovative local policies, strong social relationships, and cross-actor collaboration, rather than simply waiting for large investments. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Research techniques included interviews, focus group discussions, documentation studies, and observations. The findings suggest that to create sustainable growth, innovation and productivity must be the primary focus. Without encouragement to innovate and building a strong supporting ecosystem, MSMEs risk stagnation. To achieve this, three essential foundations must be met: local institutions that support a conducive business climate, capacity and innovation to increase competitiveness and professionalism, and relationships between local actors that strengthen social networks and locally-based innovation capacity.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of concrete quality on house construction using a Decision Tree. Good concrete quality and proper maintenance are key factors for building sturdiness and longevity, especially in areas with varying environmental conditions. The study was conducted on 20 houses in three regions of Aceh, with samples selected purposively based on concrete quality documentation (K-225, K-300, K-350) and maintenance records. Data were collected through observation, project documentation, and interviews with contractors and builders. The analysis included descriptive, inferential (correlation and multiple regression), and the application of a Decision Tree to identify the concrete parameters most influential on building quality. The results indicate that concrete quality is the most critical factor, followed by maintenance quality and environmental conditions. Houses with high-quality concrete (K-300/K-350) and a minimum curing period of 14 days have optimal sturdiness, minimal cracking, and a longer service life. The Decision Tree produced a consistent pattern with 82.5% accuracy, while qualitative data reinforces these findings by emphasizing the importance of maintenance protocols and the quality of implementation in the field. This research provides practical implications in the form of minimum quality recommendations, standard maintenance protocols, and enhanced quality control. The results contribute to the development of a data-driven decision-making framework for selecting efficient, safe, and sustainable concrete specifications.
