Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the Make A Match and Team Games Tournament learning models on student learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in class V SDN 104206 Sei Rotan for the 2024/2025 academic year. This study employs a quasi-experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the research are two experimental classes, each consisting of 20 students. Class V-A uses the Make A Match model, while class V-B uses the Team Games Tournament model. The data collection instrument is a validated multiple-choice test that has been tested for reliability. The results of the study indicate a significant improvement in learning outcomes after the implementation of both learning models. The average posttest score for students in the Make A Match class is 81.25, an increase from the pretest score of 63. Meanwhile, the average post-test score for the Team Games Tournament class is 66.15, an increase from the pre-test score of 51. The t-test shows a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, which means there is a significant difference between the two models. Thus, it can be concluded that both learning models have a positive effect on the learning outcomes of IPAS, but the Make a Match model has a more significant impact compared to the Team Games Tournament

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using digital learning media based on YouTube videos on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students in the topic of changes in the states of matter. The research employed a quasi experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two classes; the experimental class received instruction through YouTube videos, while the control class used the traditional lecture method. Data we collected using pretest and posttest to asses cognitive learning outcomes, and questionnaires were distributed to measure learning student responses toward the learning media. The results showed a significant improvement in the experimental class average score, increasing from 52,17 to 78,29, compared to the control class which rose from 55,33 to 63,50. The Mann-Whitey test revealed a significance value of 0.003 (p<0,05), indicating a significant difference between the groups. Furthermore, student responses to the use of YouTube video media were highly positive, whit an average response rate of 95,05%. These findings indicate that YouTube-based digital learning media is effective alternative in teaching, especially for topics requiring concrete visualization such as changes int the states of matter.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to assess the effectiveness of the Game Based Learning (GBL) model in enhancing the creativity of seventh-grade students in science subjects. The background of the study reveals that conventional teaching methods, which are still dominated by the teacher's role, lead to low active participation from students. This research employs a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design involving a single group with pretest and posttest measurements. The subjects of the study are the students of class VII.1 at SMP N 2 in Akabiluru District, selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection instruments consist of written tests, a creativity learning questionnaire, and practical evaluations. The analysis results indicate an average creativity score of 97.10 with a standard deviation of 11.331, which falls into the high category (77.68%). The GBL model was implemented through the Wordwall platform, utilizing the Matching Pairs feature. These findings demonstrate that the application of the GBL model is effective in enhancing students' creativity in science subjects.

Abstract

The limited student understanding of arithmetic sequences and series, along with the minimal use of interactive Android-based learning media, served as the foundation for this study. The main objective of this research was to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an Android-based learning application called BETAMATH in enhancing students' comprehension of the topic. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, using the 4D development model, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The developed product was validated by subject matter experts, media specialists, and pedagogical experts, and was tested on tenth-grade students. Validation results indicated that BETAMATH is suitable for use in the classroom. Practicality testing revealed that the application is easy to use, based on student feedback and teacher observations. The effectiveness of the media was confirmed by a significant improvement in students' understanding, as shown by pretest and posttest results. Therefore, BETAMATH is considered valid, practical, and effective for improving student understanding of arithmetic sequences and series, and holds promise as an innovative alternative to support mathematics instruction in schools.

Abstract

The development of the interactive learning media RUMBI is expected to facilitate teachers in delivering reading materials more optimally, as well as to adjust to the learning needs of students with mild intellectual disabilities. This study aims to assess the validity and practicality of the interactive learning media RUMBI as a supporting tool in improving word reading skills for students with mild intellectual disabilities. The approach used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) with modifications from the development model proposed by Borg and Gall. Data were collected through observation and interview techniques, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively based on expert evaluations. According to the validation test results, RUMBI media achieved validation scores of 94% from content experts, 100% from language experts, and 96% from media experts. These results indicate that this media falls into the very valid category and is suitable for use in teaching word reading to students with mild intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

This research focuses on human etiquette issues towards the environment. All forms of damage and changes to the environment are depicted through news stories and digital newspaper short stories. Ethical studies are raised to examine the attitudes that humans should have towards the environment to create harmony. Through environmentally themed digital newspaper short stories, the researcher explains the forms of environmental damage and changes and their relation to how human characters respond to them. The method used is qualitative to comprehensively and deeply understand the phenomenon under study. The results of the ethical study of five digital newspaper short stories as research objects. The analysis shows that the ethical analysis of environmental wisdom describes: an examination of attitudes towards the environment, namely an examination of respect for nature; an examination of moral responsibility towards nature; an examination of solidarity towards nature; an examination of love for nature; and an examination of not disturbing natural life. The analysis results show findings of ethical study of environmental wisdom in terms of attitude studies found in digital newspaper short stories. Three of them have a comprehensive study of attitudes towards the environment, while the other two only have one individual attitude study towards the environment

Abstract

The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach is a learning strategy that connects subject matter with real-life contexts to enhance students’ understanding. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the CTL approach compared to traditional methods in teaching number concepts, as well as to identify obstacles and optimal strategies for its implementation. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA framework. The articles analyzed were sourced from SINTA-accredited journals published between 2021 and 2025, and were examined using thematic analysis to identify key patterns in findings. The results show that the CTL approach significantly improves students’ mathematics learning outcomes, particularly in operations involving integers and fractions. The main challenges identified include teachers’ lack of understanding of the CTL method, limited availability of instructional aids, and differences in students’ abilities. Recommended strategies include teacher training, the development of learning media, and the implementation of differentiated instruction. The study also found that instructional aids are more effective than visual illustrations in teaching number concepts. Thus, the CTL approach holds significant potential for enhancing students’ mathematical understanding. The integration of technology and the development of contextual media are necessary to optimize implementation across diverse educational settings

Abstract

This study aims to map research trends on the development of chemistry learning materials oriented toward critical and scientific thinking skills. A bibliometric study was conducted by analyzing scientific publications indexed in multiple reputable databases, namely Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, over the past five years (2020–2025). The data were analyzed using VOSviewer software to identify keyword trends, author collaborations, geographical distribution, and dominant topics. The results revealed a significant increase in related publications, with a strong emphasis on inquiry-based, problem-based, and scientific approaches. International collaborations are also growing, although they remain concentrated in certain countries. The findings highlight research gaps, particularly the lack of integration between critical and scientific thinking skills within a single learning framework. This study provides a comprehensive overview that can serve as a foundation for researchers and stakeholders in designing future strategies for the development of chemistry education.

Abstract

Collaborative skills are essential 21st-century competencies that university students, particularly in science-based disciplines such as chemistry, must acquire. This article aims to examine strategies for enhancing students’ collaborative skills through the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) model. This study employed a theoretical literature review method by analyzing 10 scholarly articles published in reputable national and international journals between 2014 and 2024. Data sources were collected systematically from academic databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, DOAJ, and ScienceDirect. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns related to PJBL approaches, indicators of collaborative skills, and challenges in implementation. The review findings indicate that PJBL consistently enhances collaboration through project designs that emphasize teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and collective reflection. Collaboration fostered through PJBL goes beyond task completion and cultivates essential social and academic competencies for workplace readiness. These findings reinforce PJBL as an effective and adaptable pedagogical approach, offering both theoretical and practical insights for educators and curriculum developers in designing contextualized 21st-century learning experiences.

Abstract

This study examines the stages of religious development in school-aged children (6-18 years) from an Islamic perspective, focusing on the role of education, environment, parents, and teachers. The main argument of the study states that each age phase has different spiritual characteristics: elementary school age (6-12 years) is concrete with the habit of worship, junior high school age (13-15 years) is marked by the search for religious identity through reflection on values, and high school age (16–18 years) leads to the internalization of values into religious attitudes. The study employs a qualitative approach using literature review methods, collecting data from primary sources (exegesis, hadith, developmental psychology) and secondary sources (journals, books, policy documents). Findings indicate that the emotional bond between children and their parents and teachers significantly influences the reinforcement of religious values, particularly in instilling moral values, worship, and role modeling. Evidence suggests that students' spiritual crises often stem from weak religious upbringing from an early age. This study recommends strengthening school-home collaboration, integrating spiritual values into a holistic curriculum, and age-specific approaches. In conclusion, children's religious development requires synergy between parental role modeling, teachers' contextual teaching methods, and a conducive environment. This study contributes to the development of an Islamic education model that balances cognitive, affective, and spiritual aspects.
