Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of motivation and interest in learning on the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade XI IPA students at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Al-Falah Tambolaka. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing questionnaires on motivation and interest in learning to students, as well as documentation in the form of mathematics learning outcome scores. The questionnaire data was used to describe the students' level of motivation and interest in learning, while the documentation data was used to observe their mathematics learning outcomes. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing by comparing the students' motivation and interest in learning with their learning outcomes. The results showed that motivation and interest in learning play an important role in increasing student engagement during the mathematics learning process. Students with high motivation and interest in learning showed enthusiasm, focus, active participation, and a better ability to understand the material. Conversely, students with low motivation and interest in learning tended to have difficulty understanding the material, paid less attention to the teacher's explanations, and were not optimally involved in learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of promotional strategies on the number of applicants for the Mathematics Education Study Programme at PGRI Wiranegara University (UNIWARA) Pasuruan for the 2025 intake. The study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire using a four-point Likert scale and interviews with the Head of the Study Programme as supporting data. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics in the form of frequency, percentage, and mean values. The results showed that social media was the most effective promotional strategy in attracting prospective students, as indicated by the mean value in the very effective category. The promotional information was considered clear, interesting, and helpful for prospective students in understanding the advantages and prospects of graduates of the Mathematics Education Study Programme. However, the frequency and intensity of promotion were considered suboptimal. The interview results revealed that the effectiveness of the promotion carried out only reached around 30–40 per cent, as reflected in the limited number of applicants. In addition to formal promotion, the informal role of students and alumni also contributed to attracting prospective students. These findings indicate that the promotion strategy needs to be improved through more focused and sustainable planning

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contextualization of wasathiyyah values in the Tafsir of the Holy Verse Lenyeupaneun by Moh. Emon Hasim and its relevance for strengthening Islamic brotherhood, national unity, and human solidarity. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research combined with thematic (maudhu’i) tafsir analysis. The primary data sources are the Qur’an and Tafsir Ayat Suci Lenyeupaneun, while secondary data include classical and contemporary tafsir works as well as academic literature on Islamic moderation. The analysis is carried out descriptively and analytically by examining Moh. Emon Hasim’s interpretations and comparing them with other exegetical views, resulting in a comprehensive understanding of the uniqueness of Sundanese local tafsir in actualizing wasathiyyah values. This study concludes that Tafsir Ayat Suci Lenyeupaneun by Moh. Emon Hasim successfully integrates the values of wasathiyyah with Sundanese local wisdom while demonstrating the relevance of Islamic moderation in religious and national life. The values of wasathiyyah presented include balance, tolerance, justice, and brotherhood, which are proven to address religious, national, and humanitarian challenges in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of technological advances, self-efficacy, peer conformity, and parental demands on student cheating behaviour in Economics at SMAN 5 Padang Gunung Talang. The study used a quantitative approach with an associative descriptive design. The study population consisted of 271 students, with a sample of 134 students selected using proportional random sampling based on Isaac and Michael's formula at a 5% error rate. Data were collected using a 1–5 Likert scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. All instruments were declared valid and reliable. Data analysis was performed through prerequisite tests and multiple linear regression using SPSS. The results showed that technological advances and peer conformity had a positive and significant effect on student cheating behaviour, while self-efficacy and parental demands had a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, all four variables had a significant effect on cheating behaviour. These findings indicate that cheating behaviour is influenced by individual and social factors, thus requiring the joint role of schools and parents in strengthening students' self-efficacy and academic ethics.

Abstract

Children with mild autism have difficulty understanding the abstract concept of currency value, so they need concrete learning media to develop their independence in daily activities. This study aims to improve the understanding of the concept of currency value in mild autistic children in Grade IV at a special school. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a classroom action research (CAR) design. The research subjects were children with mild autism in the fourth grade of SDLB, with the class teacher as a source of supporting data. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, currency value concept comprehension tests, and instrument validation. Data analysis techniques were carried out qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, supported by test result analysis to see the increase in concept comprehension. The results showed that the role-playing method could improve mildly autistic children's understanding of currency values, as indicated by increased test scores and increased active participation of children in learning. Through role-playing activities, children could more easily understand the function of money in daily life through simulated buying and selling and contextual activities in the classroom. Thus, the role-playing method was declared effective in teaching mildly autistic children about currency values.

Abstract

Biotechnology education in secondary schools and universities still faces challenges in the form of high levels of student misconceptions, mainly due to the abstract nature of the material and the rapid development of technology. This study aims to identify common misconceptions in conventional and modern biotechnology material and analyse effective remediation strategies based on previous research findings. The research method used is a systematic literature review, through searching and analysing nationally and internationally accredited journal articles published between 2015 and 2025. The articles analysed were selected based on topic relevance, methodological quality, and relevance of findings. The results of the study show that the most dominant misconceptions arise in the understanding of the concept of anaerobic fermentation, the difference between cloning and IVF, and the impact of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Remediation strategies that have proven effective include the use of Conceptual Change Text, the application of the Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) approach, and the use of virtual laboratory simulations to help students reconstruct their understanding of concepts more accurately.
