Abstract

The process of learning mathematics at SMP Muhammadoyah 9 Yogyakarta, especially in the eighth grade, faces several obstacles, including the stigma that mathematics is a difficult and boring subject and the absence of interactive electronis modules. Thus, this research aims to develop an electronic module using the Canva application on the topic of quadratic functions. This research uses the research and development type with the ADDIE model. Meanwhile, the subjects are the 9th-gradi students of class IX-E at SMP Muhammdiyah 9 Yogyakarta. The research activities include development starting from analyzing the learning process, the media used, the designing an electronic module followed by validatioan by experts in both content and media. The result of this research are as follows : 1) the average score from subject matter experts is 4.5 with a very good category; 2) the average score from media experts is 4.625 with a very good category; 3) while the student response result s from both small and large clases trial are 3.78 with a good category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the e;ectronic module with the help of Canva on topic of Quadratic function is suitbale for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between teachers' perceptions and work motivation about online learning on the performance of mathematics teachers in junior high schools throughout Kuningan Regency. The method used in this study is a quantitative method, namely by means of simple and multiple linear regression techniques. The population of this study was junior high school mathematics teachers throughout Kuningan Regency, totaling 127 mathematics subject teachers with a research sample of 113 people. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The data from this study have been tested for normality and homogeneity, then data was obtained that was normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of the study showed a positive relationship between the perceptions and work motivation of mathematics teachers about online learning on teacher performance. With sufficient motivation and good perception, mathematics teachers are able to overcome various problems faced with the limitations they have. Online learning will remain of high quality as long as teachers have good perceptions and work motivation so that it has an impact on the quality of sustainable mathematics learning.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara persepsi dan motivasi kerja guru  tentang pembelajaran daring terhadap kinerja guru matematika di SMP se-Kabupaten Kuningan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif yaitu dengan cara teknik regresi liniear sederhana dan berganda. Populasi penelitian ini adalah guru matematika SMP Se-Kabupaten Kuningan yang berjumlah 127 guru mata Pelajaran matematika dengan sampel penelitian 113 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Data hasil penelitian ini telah diuji normalitas dan homogenitas kemudian diperoleh data yang berdistribusi normal dan homogen.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara persepsi dan motivasi kerja  guru matematika tentang pembelajaran daring terhadap kinerja guru. Dengan motivasi yang cukup serta persepsi yang baik, guru matematika mampu mengatasi berbagai masalah yang dihadapi dengan keterbatasan yang dimiliki. Pembelajaran daring akan tetap berkualitas selama guru memiliki persepsi dan motivasi kerja yang baik sehingga berdampak pada kualitas pembelajaran matematika yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to implement the Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes (SOLO) Taxonomy to describe the structure of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities and to explain their thinking processes regarding the problem of the System of Linear Equations with Two Variables ( SLETV). A framework to examine the structure of students' mathematical problem solving skills is essential, because their understanding of basic mathematical ideas is useful in everyday life. This research methodology uses descriptive qualitative applied to eighth grade students at SMPN 5 Malang. To determine the structure of students' skills, we collected information through interviews and responses from problem solving tests. The findings revealed that students' competencies were broken down into unistructural, multistructural, and relational levels, without students reaching a complex prestructural or abstract level.  This study innovatively presents visualizations of students' problem-solving frameworks, grounded in Chick's (1998) theory. The results of the study indicate that most students are at the multistructural level, namely, they can recognize relevant information but have not achieved the ability to integrate concepts comprehensively. This study provides guidance for educators to analyze students' abilities in solving mathematical problems using an effective evaluation tool, namely using the SOLO taxonomy.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan Taksonomi Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes (SOLO) untuk mendeskripsikan struktur kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa dan menjelaskan proses berpikir mereka terkait masalah Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SLETV). Kerangka kerja untuk mengkaji struktur keterampilan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa sangat penting, karena pemahaman mereka terhadap ide-ide matematika dasar berguna dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif yang diterapkan pada siswa kelas delapan di SMPN 5 Malang. Untuk mengetahui struktur keterampilan siswa, kami mengumpulkan informasi melalui wawancara dan tanggapan dari tes pemecahan masalah. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa kompetensi siswa dipecah menjadi tingkat unistruktural, multistruktural, dan relasional, tanpa siswa mencapai tingkat prastruktural atau abstrak yang kompleks. Penelitian ini secara inovatif menyajikan visualisasi kerangka kerja pemecahan masalah siswa, yang didasarkan pada teori Chick (1998). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa berada pada tingkat multistruktural, yaitu mereka dapat mengenali informasi yang relevan tetapi belum mencapai kemampuan untuk mengintegrasikan konsep secara komprehensif. Penelitian ini memberikan panduan bagi para pendidik untuk menganalisis kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika menggunakan alat evaluasi yang efektif, yaitu menggunakan taksonomi SOLO.

Abstract

Pada pembelajaran matematika siswa akan menjumpai materi lingkaran, dalam mempelajari materi tersebut siswa membutuhkan pemahaman konsep yang baik. Namun, faktanya siswa masih memiliki pemahaman konsep yang rendah. Dengan demikian tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi lingkaran kategori tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari enam siswa, dua siswa yang memiliki pemahaman konsep kategori tinggi, dua siswa yang memiliki pemahaman konsep kategori sedang dan dua siswa yang memiliki pemahaman konsep kategori rendah. Pemilihan subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrument penelitian ini adalah peneliti, instrument tes dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang memiliki kemampuan matematika kategori tinggi memenuhi empat indicator pemahaman konsep, yaitu  mengklasifikasikan objek menurut sifat-sifat tertentu, menggunakan, memanfaatkan, dan memilih prosedur tertentu, menyajikan konsep dalam berbagai bentuk refresentasi matematis dan mengaplikasikan konsep atau algoritma pemecahan masalah siswa. Adapun siswa yang memiliki kemampuan matematika kategori sedang memenuhi 2 indikator pemahaman konsep, yaitu mengklasifikasikan objek menurut sifat-sifat tertentu dan menggunakan, memanfaatkan dan memilih prosedur operasi tertentu. Sedangkan siswa yang memiliki kemampuan matematika kategori rendah hanya memenuhi satu indicator pemahaman konsep, yaitu mengklasifikasikan objek menurut sifat-sifat tertentu.   In learning mathematics students will encounter circle material in studying in this material, student need a good understanding of the concept. However, the fact is student still have a low understanding of the concept. The Purpose of this study is to determine students’ conceptual understanding of circle material in the high, medium and low categories. This research using descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. The subject of this research consists of six students, two students who have a high category undertsanding of concepts, two students who have a medium understanding of the concept and two student who have a low category understanding of concepts. Selection of subject in this research is to use a purposive sampling technique. The instrument for this research is researchers, tets instruments and interview guidelines. The results of this research show that students how have high cnceptual understanding have reached four indicator, namely classifying indicators object according to certain characteristics, indicator of use, utilization, and selection certain procedur, indicator present concept in various forms of representation mathematics and indicators apply concepts or problem solving algorithms student. As for students who have a moderate understanding of the concept og the category have achieved 2 indicators, namely the indicators of classifying objects according to their properties certain prosedures and use, utilixe and select certain operating procedures. Meanwhile, students who have a low category understanding of concepts only achieve one indicator classifies objects according to certain properties.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi kurangnya pemahaman dan kreativitas siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah geometri. Tujuan penelitian ini akan mendeskripsikan penerapan metode Gallery Walk, sebuah strategi pembelajaran berbasis pameran visual, dalam meningkatkan Kerjasama dan kreativitas siswa. Penelitian Tindakan kelas  (PTK) ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Indikator Kerjasama mencakup interaksi dan partisipasi diskusi, sementara indikator kreativitas meliputi kualitas karya dan keunikan ide. Lembar observasi digunakan untuk mengukur kedua aspek tersebut. Subjek penelitian adalah 16 siswa kelas VII di Sekolah Menengah Pertama, Kota Malang, pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa strategi Gallery Walk efektif meningkatkan Kerjasama dan kreativitas siswa. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada literatur mengenai inovasi metode pembelajaran matematika untuk mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke – 21.     This research is motivated by the lack of understanding and creativity of students in solving geometry problems. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of the Gallery Walk method, a visual exhibition-based learning strategy, in improving student cooperation and creativity. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Cooperation indicators include interaction and discussion participation, while creativity indicators include work quality and uniqueness of ideas. Observation sheets are used to measure both aspects. The subjects of the study were 16 seventh grade students at Junior High School, Malang City, on the material of flat-sided spatial figures. The results of the study concluded that the Gallery Walk strategy was effective in improving student cooperation and creativity. This study contributes to the literature on innovations in mathematics learning methods to develop 21st century skills.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi dan hasil belajar matematika dialami oleh siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran jigsaw dengan OER terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan hasil belajar matematika siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Balantak. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa dan tes deskriptif untuk mengukur kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Kemudian data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji-t dengan uji sampel bebas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Jigsaw dengan OER tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori yang dapat ditunjukkan dengan hasil uji-t sampel bebas pada hasil belajar dengan taraf signifikansi 0,112 > 0,05 dan hasil uji-t sampel bebas pada kemampuan komunikasi matematis 0,134 > 0,05 tetapi berdasarkan analisis hasil diperoleh kelas eksperimen mempunyai hasil belajar dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol.   Low communication skills and mathematics learning outcomes are experienced by students. This study aims to determine the effect of the jigsaw learning model with OER on mathematical communication skills and mathematics learning outcomes of students at Junior High School. This type of research is experimental research using a quasi-experimental research design with the research design used in this study is a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. This study was conducted on grade VII students of Junior High School. The research instrument used a multiple-choice test to measure student learning outcomes and a descriptive test to measure mathematical communication skills. Then the data obtained were analyzed using a t-test with an independent sample test. The results of the study showed that the Jigsaw learning model with OER did not provide a significant effect on students' learning outcomes and mathematical communication skills compared to the expository learning model which can be shown by the results of the free sample t-test on learning outcomes with a significance level of 0.112> 0.05 and the results of the free sample t-test on mathematical communication skills 0.134> 0.05 but based on the analysis of the results obtained the experimental class had higher learning outcomes and mathematical communication skills than the control class.

Abstract

Latar Belakang. Banyak penelitian yang membahas tentang pemahaman konsep matematika dan juga speech delay. Tetapi, belum ada penelitian yang membahas tentang hubungan speech delay dengan pemahaman konsep matematika. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika pada peserta didik speech delay. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti fokus mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep matematika peserta didik speech delay. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Tiga peserta didik kelas 2 Sekolah Dasar yang mengalami speech delay dijadikan sebagai subjek penelitian ini. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pemahaman konsep matematika, wawancara dan observasi peserta didik. Instrumen penelitian dirancang berdasarkan lima indikator pemahaman konsep matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik speech delay kurang mamahami konsep ukuran dan penggunaan istilah-istilah dalam matematika masih kurang tepat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika pada peserta didik yang mengalami speech delay termasuk kategori yang rendah. Terdapat hubungan yang saling memengaruhi antara kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika dengan keterlambatan bicara atau speech delay karena kemampuan bahasa dan komunikasi peserta didik yang kurang baik.   Many studies discuss the understanding of mathematical concepts and also speech delay. However, there is no research that discusses the relationship between speech delay and understanding of mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study is to analyze the ability to understand mathematical concepts in speech delay students. Therefore, researchers focus on describing the understanding of mathematical concepts of speech delay students. The research method used is qualitative method. Three students grade two elementary school who experienced speech delay were used as the subjects of this study. The instruments used in this research are test of the ability to understand mathematical concepts, interviews and observation of students. The research instrument was designed based on five indicators of understanding of mathematical concepts. The result of this study indicate that speech delay learners do not understand the concept of size and the use of terms in mathematics is still inappropriate. Based on the results of this study, it is cocluded that the ability to understand mathematical concepts in student who experience speech delay is in the low category. There is mutually influencing relationship between the ability to understand mathematical concepts and speech delay due to the learner’s poor language and communication skills.

Abstract

Matematika sering dianggap sulit, membutuhkan media kontekstual. Etnomatematika, yang mengaitkan matematika dengan budaya, menawarkan solusi. Namun, penelitian etnomatematika di lombok belum mengeksplorasi arsitektur masjid. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis etnomatematika pada arsitektur masjid Jamik Raden Anji Ma’ra sebagai sumber media pembelajaran matematika. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif jenis etnografi, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Hasil dan pembahasan menunjukkan arsitektur masjid ini kaya akan konsep geometri (bangun ruang dan datar) yang beragam. Temuan ini menunjukkan potensi signifikan arsitektur masjid sebagai media pembelajaran kontekstual yang mendukung pemahaman matematika. Penelitian ini menawarkan kebaruan dengan fokus pada arsitektur masjid, membuka perspektif inovatif bagi pembelajaran matematika berbasis budaya lokal. Mathematics is often considered difficult, requiring contextual media. Ethnomathematics, which links mathematics with culture, offers a solution. However, ethnomathematics research in Lombok has not explored mosque architecture. The purpose of this study is to analyze ethnomathematics in the architecture of the Jamik Raden Anji Ma'ra mosque as a source of mathematics learning media. With a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were collected through observation, documentation, and literature studies. The results and discussion show that the architecture of this mosque is rich in diverse geometric concepts (space and plane shapes). These findings indicate the significant potential of mosque architecture as a contextual learning medium that supports mathematical understanding. This study offers novelty by focusing on mosque architecture, opening up innovative perspectives for local culture-based mathematics learning.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematika esensial untuk berpikir logis dan sistematis, namun siswa sering kesulitan dalam materi bangun ruang sisi datar karena kurangnya pemahaman konsep. Perbedaan kemampuan matematika antar siswa mempengaruhi penalaran, dengan siswa berkemampuan rendah cenderung menghafalkan rumus. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penalaran matematika siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal bangun ruang sisi datar, ditinjau berdasarkan kemampuan matematika dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan wawancara kepada tiga subjek (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan materi yang kuat berkorelasi positif dengan penalaran efektif, terbukti pada subjek berkemampuan tinggi yang menguasai semua indikator penalaran. Sebaliknya, subjek berkemampuan sedang dan rendah mengalami kesulitan signifikan akibat deficit pemahaman konsep dasar, yang membatasi kemampuan mereka dalam mengidentifikasi langkah, mengintegrasikan konsep, dan menyusun argument. Kontibusi penelitian ini memberikan gambaran mendalam tentang karakteristik penalaran pada berbagai tingkat kemampuan, menjadi acuan untuk pengembangan pembelajaran matematika yang adaptif, dan berorientasi pada pemahaman konseptual. Mathematical reasoning ability is essential for logical and systematic thinking, but students often have difficulty in flatsided geometric geometry material due to lack of conceptual understanding. Differences in mathematical ability between students affect reasoning, with low-ability students tending to memorize formulas. This study aims to analyze students' mathematical reasoning in solving flat-sided geometric geometry problems, reviewed based on mathematical ability using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through tests and interviews with three subjects (high, medium, and low). The results showed that strong mastery of the material was positively correlated with effective reasoning, as evidenced by high-ability subjects who mastered all reasoning indicators. In contrast, medium and lowability subjects experienced significant difficulties due to deficits in understanding basic concepts, which limited their ability to identify steps, integrate concepts, and construct arguments. The contribution of this study provides an indepth picture of the characteristics of reasoning at various levels of ability, becoming a reference for the development of adaptive mathematics learning, and oriented towards conceptual understanding

Abstract

Kemampuan membuat koneksi matematika penting untuk memahami konsep dan menerapkan dalam situasi nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan keterampilan konektivitas matematika siswa berkemampuan sedang dari kelas 8, menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui penilaian tertulis dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa berkemampuan sedang memiliki tingkat konektivitas matematika yang rendah (63%), kesulitan mengintegrasikan konsep, merumuskan analgoi, dan perhitungan. Sebaliknya, terkait kolerasi matematika dan kehidupan sehari – hari, mereka menunjukkan hubungan signifikan (72%), mampu memahami masalah kontekstual, mendokumentasikan informasi, dan menghubungkannya dengan model matematika. Disimpulkan bahwa siswa berkemampuan sedang lebih mudah mengaitkan matematika dengan kehidupan sehari – hari daripada konsep matematika itu sendiri. Oleh karena itu, disarankan bagi guru mengembangkan lingkungan belajar yang mendorong pemahaman hubungan antar konsep serta beragam soal untuk meningkatkan keterampilan konektivitas matematika siswa.   The ability to make mathematical connections is important for understanding concepts and applying them in real situations. This study aims to explain the mathematical connectivity skills of 8th grade medium-ability students, using qualitative descriptive methods through written assessments and interviews. The results showed that medium-ability students had low levels of mathematical connectivity (63%), difficulty integrating concepts, formulating analogies, and calculations. In contrast, related to the correlation between mathematics and everyday life, they showed a significant relationship (72%), were able to understand contextual problems, document information, and relate it to mathematical models. It was concluded that medium-ability students found it easier to relate mathematics to everyday life than the mathematical concept itself. Therefore, it is recommended for teachers to develop a learning environment that encourages understanding of the relationship between concepts and various problems to improve students' mathematical connectivity skills..
