Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to find out the ability of visual thinking in the translation of representation of students who have high, medium and low mathematical abilities for trigonometric comparison material in XI IPA SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. The research method used in this research is descriptive method. The research subjects were 9 students from class XI IPA 1. The subjects of this study were determined based on students' mathematical grades and the consideration of mathematics teachers. The results of data analysis show that students with high mathematical abilities already have visual thinking abilities in translational representation, whereas students with moderate and low mathematical abilities do not yet have these abilities. Students with high mathematical ability have been able to meet all indicators of visual thinking ability in translational representation, while students with moderate mathematical ability have not been able to meet the indicators showing & telling and students with low mathematical ability have not been able to meet the indicators of imagining and showing & telling. Overall, the ability to visual thinking in the translation of representation of students XI IPA SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak is still relatively low. Keywords: Visual Thinking Ability, Translation of Representasion

Abstract

 AbstractThis research is motivated because students of class X MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak including dwibahasawan. In addition, they use of local and Indonesian language still insert other language elements. The purpose of this research to find out the code switching and code mixing on students’ speech of class X MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak. The method used is descriptive method and qualitative research form. Sources of data in this research are students of class X MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak which amounted to 40 people, while the data is the result of speech or conversation students. Technique of collecting data used is by sadap technique, simak libat cakap technique, and simak bebas libat cakap technique. The tools used in data collection are the researchers themselves as key instruments and research instruments such as recorder and data recording card. Based on the results of data analysis, there is type of internal code switching and external code switching, type of inner code mixing and outher code mixing, the three factors causing the code switching, and the four factors causing the code mixing on students’ speech of class X MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak.Keywords: Code Switching, Code Mixing, Students’ Speech

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to determine the impact caused by the development of Laet Lake tourism object on the economy of the community in Subah Village, Tayan Hilir District, Sanggau Regency. The research method used was a descriptive method with a qualitative approach and the form of research used was a survey. The data source in this study was the people who work around the tourism object that consist of 12 people as respondents to conduct the interviews. Data collection was obtained through interview guidelines, and then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation and verification/drawing conclusions, then checking the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. Researcher conducted research and interviews with people who worked around the tourism object twice. The results showed that the positive impact, it can be seen from the employment opportunities around the tourism object that were already very good and the income of the people around the tourism object was already very good.Key words: Community?s Economy, Impact of Tourism Object Development

Abstract

         Abstract           The purpose of this research was to describe the structure of the dance presentation which has its own characteristics, in terms of motion, music, costumes, and lyrics of songs contained in Ladun dance music, the art of Mendu Penggal Raja Muda, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province. The method used in this research was descriptive method in the form of qualitative. The approach used by researchers was a choreography approach. To complement the research data, researchers used observation, interviews, and documentation. Techniques to test the validity of data was source triangulation. Researcher used data reduction, data presentation, as well as inference and verification as the data analysis techniques. The result of the research is the analysis of the main elements of the structure, top design, floor design, music accompaniment and the Islamic nuance which full of advice and prayer. The theme is related to life events in the kingdom. The dressing used is the character of a firm person of Antapura kingdom. Ladun dance is performed at the inauguration ceremony and marriage. The dance serves as an entertainment. The results of this research is expected to be implemented in the arts and culture grade X, semester I in high school, so that students better understand the existence of traditional dance in Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province.                      Keywords: presentation structure, Ladun dance, the art of Mendu Penggal Raja Muda.

Abstract

 AbstractThis Thesis entitled ?Construction working parents perception towards children education in Kelurahan Banjar Serasan Kecamatan Pontianak Timur?. The purpose of this research is to describe the children level of education, also to analyze the construction working family. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach in form of descriptive with purposive sampling method and snowball sampling. The technique of data collection used is interview and documentation technique. The total of informants in this research is six persons, consist of three construction working parents, three children with lack of educations. The result of this research proves that the contruction working family in Kelurahan Banjar Serasan Kecamatan Pontianak Timur still have a neutral perception toward children education that some parents think education is important and beneficial and some parents also think education is expensive and indifferent. Moreover, there are some causes of children?s lack of education, those are: children?s lack of interests, lack of desire/expectations, lack of encouragement/motivation, parents? educations background, parents? concern, and family?s economical weakness. Keyword: Parents Perception, Contruction Worker, Children Education.

Abstract

AbstractThe title of this research was “The Analysis of Mechanical Solidarity on Dayak Kanayatn Bapakat Organisation at Desa Pancaroba Kecamatan Sungai Ambawang”. The research problem was how did the mechanical solidarity on Dayak Kanayatn Bapakat Organisation at Desa Pancaroba Kecamatan Sungai Ambawang. The purpose of this research was described the mechanical solidarity based on strong collective awareness and repressive law systems in Bapakat organisation. The method conducted in this research was descriptive in qualitative form. The analysis of this research presented in qualitative descriptive with using four informants. The result finding showed that the mechanical solidarity on Dayak Kanayatn Bapakat organisation at Desa Pancaroba based on strong collective awareness and dominant of repressive law. Collective awareness form showed in work program of sport, such doing sport together like volleyball and football. In agriculture, there was an activity like farming paddy, potato and kind of herbs. In social and community, there was a social gathering every Sunday and in spirituality there was an activity of praying together on Bapakat organisation. The law on Bapakat organisation was repressive. The purpose of the law was to bring back the collective awareness of the members that break the rules on Bapakat organisation.Keywords: Collective Awareness, Dayak Kanayatn, Mechanical Solidarity

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatahui hubungan kebiasaan membaca karya sastra dengan kemampuan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya dalam mengapresiasi cerpen. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya dengan jumlah 31 siswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kebiasaan membaca karya sastra mencapai presentase 78,65% dengan kategori baik. Kemampuan siswa mengapresiasi cerpen mencapai presentase 52,38% dengan kategori kurang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa hubungan kebiasaan membaca karya sastra dengan kemampuan siswa mengapresiasi cerpen memiliki hubungan yang sangat rendah.   Kata Kunci: Kebiasaan Membaca, Apresiasi Cerpen Abstract: The aims of this study were to know the relation reading literature habits with student clas VIII Public Junior High School 1 Sungai Raya ability to appreciate short story. Descriptive method was used in this study with quantitave form. The samples of this study were the students of Junior High School 1 Sungai Raya class VIII with the number of student is 31 students. The result showed reading literature habits percentage reaches 78,65% with category good. Percentage to ability appreciate short story is 52,38% with category mediocore. Based on the result of analysis could be concluded that the relation the habits of reading literature with the ability to appreciate short story is very low relation.   Keywords: Reading Habits, Apeciatte Storiette

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of PhET Simulation Circuit Contruction kit media to remediate misconceptions of grade XII students of Senior High School. St. Benedict Pahauman on the material of direct current electric circuit. The method used is pre experimental design with one group pretest posttest design. Data taken from the students of class XII IPA 2 selected by intact group. The sample is 33 students. The data collection tool consists of 10 multiple choice questions with three alternative answers with an open reason. Based on data analysis, the highest student misconception profile was obtained when the pre-test was obtained (97%). The highest student misconception profile at the time of post-test was obtained (78,78%). Based on the calculation of the McNemar test, the mean of X ^ 2 count (6,249)> X ^ 2tabel (3,84) for db = 1 and α = 5% then there is a significant change of conception. Based on the calculation of effect size obtained score 0.4574 (moderate category) that remediation using PhET Simulation effective to remediate student misconception about material direct current electric circuit. This research is expected to be an alternative for teachers in implementing remediation to overcome student misconception.Keywords: Remediation, Misconception, PhET Simulation, Circuit Construction Kit, Direct Curren Electric Circuit.

Abstract

Abstract The aims of this study were improving EFL students? reading comprehension by using Metacognitive Reading Strategies and finding out the students? perceptions on Metacognitive Reading Strategies. The method of the research was a classroom action research. The research subjects were 29 students majoring in Accounting Program class 3 of Year-10. This research was conducted in three cycles to maximize the students? improvement in comprehending the text. The findings of data collecting revealed that integrating Metacognitive Reading Strategies instruction and raising the students? metacognitive reading strategies awareness have successfully improved the students? reading comprehension. Thus, this study implies that Metacognitive Reading Strategies are needed to be integrated in the teaching and learning reading English in the EFL classroom.   Keywords: Metacognitive Reading Strategies, EFL, reading comprehension Abstrak: Tujuan-tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa EFL dengan menggunakan Strategi Membaca Metakognitif dan mengetahui persepsi siswa tentang Strategi Membaca Metakognitif. Penelitian ini adalah sebuah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah 29 siswa Kelas 10 Program Akuntansi 3. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam 3 siklus untuk memaksimalkan peningkatan pemahaman membaca siswa. Temuan membuktikan bahwa mengintegrasikan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan Strategi Membaca Metakognitif dan meningkatkan kesadaran Strategi Membaca Metakognitif bagi siswa EFL telah berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa. Demikianlah studi ini menunjukkan bahwa Strategi Membaca Metacognitif perlu untuk diintegrasikan dalam kegiatan mengajar dan belajar bahasa Inggris di kelas EFL. Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to describe the quantitative reasoning abilities of students in algebraic material in Middle School based on students' mathematical abilities. The research method used was descriptive method with the form of survey study. The subjects of this study were 3 students in class XII Pontianak 2 Public High School. The results of the quantitative reasoning ability test show that the students' quantitative reasoning abilities in algebraic material can be categorized as low. The ability to reverse the calculation process can only be achieved by students who have a high level of mathematical abilities, but the ability to simplify the calculation process can be achieved by most of all students both at high medium and low ability levels. Keywords: Quantitative reasoning, Algebra.
