AbstractThis research aimed to know the application in learning using Booklet media on arithmethic operation of algebra in junior high school. The method of this research was experiment and the research design was pre-experiment with one shoot case study. The subject of this research were 34 students of grade 7th A in SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak. The result of this research found that the application in learning using Booklet media on arithmethic operation of algebra in 7th A of SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak was effective in both result posttest and student’s activity. Based on the result of posttest, there were 27 students (82%) that had score more than or equal to 60 points and only 7 students (18%) had score below than 60 points. Based on result of student’s activity, the application in learning using Booklet media on arithmethic operation of algebra in 7th A of SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak was successful to made students learn actively in class, there were 75% students that learn actively in first day and increased to 90% students in second day.  AbstractThis pre experimental research was conducted to know how significant Big6 strategy is in teaching reading comprehension of recount text at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Pontianak in academic year 2017/2018. Big6 is strategy used by students to solve puzzle of information problem. The sample of this research was 34 students in class VIII E. The data of study was derived from pre test and post test. The data revealed that the Big6 strategy is an effective strategy that can be used by English teacher as an alternative way to teach reading comprehension in the classroom. The result of the research showed that Big6 strategy affected the students reading comprehension. The student’s pre test score was 64.44 and the post test was 72.85. Furthermore, the effect size of the significant improvement of the treatment was 2.05. It is categorized as highly effective since it is higher than 0.5. The teacher might put some appropriate variations in applying the strategy considering the situation and condition found in the classroom. AbstractThis research aimed to find out the effectiveness of leaflet to improve SMP Negeri 1 Siantan students’ misconception on Archimedes principle. The method used in this research was a one-group pretest-posttest. Data collection instrument of this research was in form of multiple choice tests without reason. This research involved 31 students from VIII A as the sample which selected through intact group, which is the whole sampling based on a group of population. From 31 students who followed remediation, the result showed decreasing percentage of students misconception in all indicators by 73%. Based on McNemar test calculate, obtained  in all indicators of 36.54 then χ2 hitung> χ2tabel caused that there was a significant conceptual change. The effect size was 1.40 (classified high) according to Hattie (2009). This research was expected to be used by teachers as an alternative to improve students' misconception on Archimedes' principle.Keywords: Remediation, Misconceptions, Leaflet, Archimedes principleÂ

AbstractThe problem in the study is whether there is an influence of imagery training on basketball shooting for extracurricular students. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of imagery training on basketball shooting results. The population in the study is extracurricular students with a total of 18 people. Sampling using saturated sampling technique. The method used is an experiment with pre experimental design. Data analysis using t-test. Based on the results of the t-test obtained t-count ≥ t-table that is t-count value of 7.03 and t-table of 1.740 then H0 is rejected and (Ha is accepted) means that there is an effect of imagery training on the results of basketball shooting for students of SMAN 7 Pontianak. Keywords: Exercise imagery, Shooting, Basketball.

AbstractThis study was carry out to improve the students reading comprehension of narrative text through skimming and scanning technique on eighth grade students of SMP Mujahidin Pontianak in academic year 2018/2019. The subjects of this study were consisted of 21 students. The method used in this study was classroom action research (CAR). The classroom action research design applied in this study was a collaborative classroom action research. It meant that the writer collaborated with the English teacher of SMP Mujahidin Pontianak as an observer and collaborator. This study was conducted following Kurt Lewin model with the following procedures of the action research: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The study was carry out in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of two meetings. The data were gathered in this study through interview, field notes, and test. Most of the students gradually gained good scores at the end of the cycle. The score of Minimum Mastery Criterion- Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) of English lesson was 75 (seventy-five). The mean in the first cycle was 70,1. The mean score in the second cycle was 75,4. In conclusion, Skimming and Scanning technique could improve students’ reading comprehension.Keywords: Classroom Action Research, Narrative text, Reading comprehension

AbstractThe present study deal with the students' errors in pronouncing English words made by the seventh grade of students of SMP Gembala Baik Pontianak in the academic year 2017-2018. The researcher is interested in conducting research of Teochew transferred in pronouncing English words because the student still have interference in pronunciation, therefore the result of the research can be used as a feedback for the teacher and student's improvement. The data required for the study were collected by (1) Observation, (2) Test, and (3) audio recording. Finally, the result of the analysis shows that there are three kinds of errors made by the subjects, There are lengthening sounds (39,22%) and substitutions sounds (60,78%). To solve the students' pronunciation errors, they need a lot of drills and practices to pronounce English using IPA by watching carefully how the native speaker produce the sounds correctly. It is suggested that teachers should pay more attention to those particular sounds and provide extra exercise to the learnersKeywords: Pronunciation transfer, lengthening sounds, substitution sound, Teochew students

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran membaca pemahaman menggunakan metode scaffolded reading dan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman siswa dengan menggunakan metode scaffolded reading di kelas XI Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di SMK PGRI Pontianak. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan dengan menggunakan metode scaffolded reading maka dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar membaca siswa, khususnya meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap makna kata, bentuk kata, ungkapan, dan kalimat dalam konteks bekerja. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 siklus, dan selalu mengalami peningkatan Kata Kunci: Scaffolded reading, pemahaman, bacaan Abstract: This research aimed to describe the learning reading comprehension using methods scaffolded reading and to determine the increase students reading methods scaffolded reading in class XI Light Vehicle Engineering at SMK PGRI Pontianak. The method used is descriptive method. Based on the results of data analysis can be concluded that by using scaffolded reading it can improve the learning outcomes of students reading, especially improving student understanding of the meaning of words, the words, phrases, and sentences in a work context. AbstractThe research was conducted in Sebalos backwoods, village of Sango at Sanggau Ledo District of Bengkayang Regency. This study also involved three speakers as informants to get data related to the treasury of terminology. The research question of this study was how the pattern of the perpadian lingual unit, the lexical meaning of occurrence, cultural meaning, and the level of understanding of the lexicon is.The method used in this study was descriptive in forms of qualitative research. Based on data analysis, this study got conclusions as follows (a) lingual unit form (b) terminology (c) cultural meaning and (d) level of understanding of terminology. Based on the results of data analysis, the research found that there are 104 data, age ≥45 years, age 25-44 years, age 12-24 years. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan media film kartun cerita rakyat terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan narasi di kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri 35 Pontianak Selatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Eksperimen dengan bentuk penelitian Quasy Eksperimen Design dengan rancangan penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV A 38 dan siswa kelas IV B berjumlah 37 siswa. Hasil penelitian, diperoleh rata–rata kelas ekperimen sebesar 78,57 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 67,58. Hasil perhitungan effect size kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol diperoleh sebesar 1,17, diklasifikasikan dalam kategori tinggi. Kesimpulan media film kartun cerita rakyat memberikan pengaruh yang tinggi terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan narasi di kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri 35 Pontianak Selatan. The purpose of this research is to describe the influnece uses film media of cartoon folklore againts to literary a wreath of narrative in grade IV primary school 35 south Pontianak. The methodology that used in this research was Quasy Eksperimen Design with nonequivalent control group design. Sample of this research are 38 students from IVA class and 37 students from IVB class. The results of research, obtained average from experiment class was 78,57 and control class was 67,58. The calculation of effect size result form experiment and control class were 1,17. It was include high category. It mean film media of cartoon folklore gave influnece include high category against to literary a wreath of narrative in grade IV primary school 35 south Pontianak Keywords: cartoon film, folklore, write, narrative

AbstractThis thesis is titled "Social Problem Solving Survey of Class XI Students of IIS SMA Pontianak Mujahidin" The common problem in this study is how the social problem solving abilities of IIS Mujahidin SMA XI grade X students with sub-problems include: 1) how is the problem solving ability of social class XI students IIS Pontianak Mujahidin High School? 2) what affects the ability to solve social problems of class XI IIS Mujahidin Pontianak ?. The research method used in this study is descriptive quantitative method and the form of research using surveys. The results of one sub-problem research are: Solving Abilities Social problems of class XI IIS SMA Mujahidin Pontianak are known as 40 of 98 students who have students' social problem solving skills namely medium category of 40.81%. So that it can be seen that almost half of the 11th grade students of IIS SMA Pontianak Mujahidin have the ability to solve social problems in the medium category. the results of the two sub-problem research are: It can be seen from the indicators that affect almost 50% of the 11th grade students of IIS SMA Mujahidin Pontianak have the ability to solve social problems in the medium category. Conclusions from the results of the study: Based on the analysis of the data obtained, the researcher can answer according to the formulation of the problem by concluding the results of the study. In accordance with the results of the research data analysis, that the ability to solve social problems of class XI IIS of the Mujahidin High School in Pontianak is included in the medium category. Keyword : Solving Social Problems, Students.
