AbstractThe results of preliminary observations showed that student engagement in the learning is still low with an average of 35.83%. This study aimed to collect data and precise information on implementing the Jigsaw technique to improve students' engagement in civic education instruction. The research method used is descriptive in the form of collaborative classroom action research. The subjects studied were thirty VII grade students of SMP Kartika XVII-1 Sungai Raya. Data collection techniques used were direct observation techniques, with observation sheets of teacher ability in preparation and implementing instructions, and student activity observation sheets as the data collection tools. This research was conducted in 3 cycles with the results collected as follows, the ability of teachers to plan instructions from the cycle I obtained an averagescore of 3.10 with a good category, an average score of 3.47 with a good category in cycle II, and an average score of 3.94 with an excellent category in cycle III. The ability of teachers to implement instructions from the cycle I obtained an average score of 3.04 with a good category, an average score of 3.46 with a good category in cycle II, and an average score of 3.95 with an excellent category in cycle III. Student engagement in the initial observations with an average value of 35.83% was obtained with a very low category; the cycle I obtained an average value of 62.08% with a sufficient category; cycle II obtained an average value of 76.25% with a good category; cycle III obtained an average value of 85.00% with a very high category. Grounded on the findings, it can be concluded that there is an improvement in each cycle. Therefore, the jigsaw technique can increase class VII Kartika XVII-1 Sungai Raya students engagements in Civic Education instruction.Keywords: Civic Education, Cooperative Learning Model Jigsaw Technique, Student Engagement.

AbstractThis research focused to analysist conflict internal and external affect to the character ini novel Bumi Ayu by Restiana Purwaningrum. Researcher focused on conflict because the direct or indirect conflict in this novel has an impact or influence on character traits. Researcher used descriptive research method, and qualitative research form, with study of behavioristic literary psychology. Data source in this research is Bumi Ayu novel by Restiana Purwaningrum. The data of this research is quotes in the novel in the form of words, phrases, and sentences. Technique used in this research is study documentary technique. Data colleting tool is the researcher as the key instrument and assisted with note tools. Reseacher was able to analyze 7 individuals who experienced internal conflict, (1) Dara Kirai, (2) Apai Dolan, (3) Inai Ranggai, (4) Byan Borneo, (5) Samuel, (6) Bumi Ayu, (7) Rimba Samudera. External conflict includes physical conflict and social conflict. The physical conflict is (1) Dara Kirai and (2) Bumi Ayu. AbstractThe background of this research was because the outdoor advertising is information tool for general public that located at public place, such main street that often passed by people and around people. The method in this research was descriptive method. The research form was qualitative research. The data of this research was outdoor advertising at Pontianak. The outdoor advertising was analyzed from physical aspects, language aspects, and structure of advertising text. Data analysis it showed that the use of language on outdoor advertising in Pontianak from physical aspects on advertisement was relatively large, the used material was not permanent, the advertising location was strategic, and gave big impact on the use of people language. Based on the language aspects, the use of spelling mostly had errors on word usage and punctuation, word choice or diction had errors in the lack of words usage accuracy, and the use of sentence structure was good enough. The structure of advertising text was already fulfilled the correct advertising character which consists three parts such title, explanation, and the address and name of the adviser. Abstractteaching literature in schools, especially on learning the values of life.The general problem in this research is "What is the Moral Value contained in the Student Hidjo Novel by Mas Marco Kartodikromo?". The researcher focused this research on the moral values contained in the novel Student Hidjo by Mas Marco Kartodikromo. Therefore, the theory used in this study is in the form of learning about values, morals, character, ethics, and character education. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative research form. The approach used is the sociology of literature approach. Data collection techniques using literature study and documentary studies.The results of the analysis in this study indicate that there are moral values in Student Hidjo's novel. These moral values are moral values known from the relationship between humans and God (believe in God and perform obligations to God). The value of morality is known from the relationship between humans and oneself (responsible, honest, fearful, confident, self-existent, and simplicity). The value of morality is understood from the relationship between humans and fellow humans (mutual love, help, respect, and togetherness). AbstractThis research aims to describe how metacognition skills are assessed from student learning outcomes in class XII quadratic equation material at SMA St. Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak. The research method is descriptive with the survey. The subjects of this study were six students of class XII Natural Sciences which consisted of two students with high learning outcomes, two students with moderate learning outcomes, and two students with low learning outcomes. The results of this study indicate that metacognition skills for learning outcomes are high, almost all indicators are fulfilled in every planning, monitoring, and evaluation. While metacognition skills for learning outcomes are moderate, only planning and monitoring indicators are met, evaluation is still lacking. There for metacognition skills for learning outcomes are low, only planning indicators are met, monitoring and evaluating is still lacking.Keyword : Metacognition Skill, Learning outcomes, Quadratic Equation

AbstractThe research is backed by the precision of the badminton smash Punch which is relatively less accurate due to the lack of exercise variations and lack of special exercises to improve the precision of smash punch. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of game targets to increase the precision of badminton smash Punch. This research uses the form of Pre-Expermental Design that is one group Pretest-posttest design with a treatment of 12 times the meeting. This design has pre-test and posttest to compare the condition before and after being given treatment, The subject in this study was all the participants of the badminton extracurricular in the state Junior high School 03 Sungari Raya amounted to 25 people. The test in this study used test-T SPSS 25. Based on the research results can be concluded: There is a variation in game targets to increase the precision of badminton smash punch. With the value of Sig 0.000 < 0.05, then the target games variation method can be used as one of the effective exercise programs to improve the precision of the smash punch. AbstractThe purpose of this research is to implement learning and improve poetry writing skills using image media in class III of state Elementary School 35 Sepandan Sambas District. The method used in this research is a descriptive method. This form of research is class action research with 3 cycles of treatment with stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Results that want to be achieved is a valid data, accurate, accountable about the improvement of poetry writing skills using image media in class III of state Elementary School 35 Sepandan Sambas District that will be presented in the form of Data of research results. The research Setting is conducted in grade III of SD Negri 35 Sepandan Sambas District that will be presented in the form of Data of research results. The research Setting is conducted in grade III of SD Negri 35 Sepandan Sambas District. The results of his research are as follows: Increased teacher's ability to carry out cycle I study obtained on average 2.84, cycle II gained an average of 2.96, and cycle III was obtained on average 3.65. Increased student writing skills on the I cycle gained an average of 40.74, cycle II gained an average of 55.55, and cycle III gained an average of 76.29. Keywords: Enhancement, Media images, Poetry writing skills

Abstract                                                            This research aims to improve student learning result by using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in Civic Education subjects. This is a classroom action research with the descriptive method. The research was conducted at the senior high school Mujahidin Pontianak, enaging 31 of 10th -grade Social 3 students as the research subject. Data collection techniques used were measurement techniques, direct observation techniques, and documentary study techniques with data collection tools used were learning result tests and observation sheets. The collected data were analyzed by calculating the average and the percentage. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, named planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results showed that, in the Cycle I, the average student learning result was only 63,22 with the number of students reach the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) was 3 students or 9.67%.respectively, the average result in Cyle II and Cycle III are 71,29 and 85,28 with the number of students passing the KKM as many as 13 and 27 or 42,00% and 87,00% in percentage. Based on the analysis, it shows that PBL model can improve learning result to the 10th –grade student of Social 3 in Senior High School Mujahidin Pontianak in Civic Education subject.Keyword: Learning Result, PBL, Used

AbstractTone plays an important role in Chinese teaching. Different tones represent different meanings. In Chinese teaching, orthodontics can help students master the tone of Chinese. The purpose of this study is to understand how to use orthodontic method to teach Chinese four tones and whether orthodontic method can improve students' ability to master Chinese four tones. The subjects were students of Class 1, Grade 1 of KEMALA BHAYANGKARI Junior Middle School. There were 24 students (13 boys and 11 girls).In order to understand the mastery of Chinese four tones by KEMALA BHAYANGKARI junior middle school students, the research methods used by the author are experimental method and test method. According to the teaching experiment and the statistics and analysis of the pre-test and post-test, the author understands that the orthodontic teaching method can effectively improve the students' ability to master the four tones of Chinese.Key words: tone, four tones,orthodontic pronunciation

AbstractThis study aims to find out how students’ mathematical communication skills in solving questions on set material that have high, medium and low learning motivation in SMP Negeri 14 Pontianak. The mmethod in this research is descriptive qualitative descriptive research form. Data collection techniques used are measurement techniques and direct communication. Data collection tools used in this study were questionnaires, written tests and interviews. Obtained that student with high learning motivation are able to ekspress and understand mathematical ideas, and can use mathematical notation and draw venn diagrams. Students with learning motivation are able to ekspress mathematical ideas in the form of writing set notations, but they are not quite right in describing venn diagrams, while students are less able to ekspress and understand mathematical ideas so that they cannot draw venn diagrams. Students with low learning motivation find ini difficult to understand the commands of the questions and are less able to solve the given problems.  Keywords : Learning Motivation, Mathematical Communication SkillsÂ
