Abstract

This study aims to develop students' thinking skills through the theory and application of electrical circuit experiments using PhET Simulation with an inclusive approach. The scope of the research involves twelfth-grade students from SMAS Indonesia Muda Sungai Raya who participated in physics lessons, particularly on the topic of electrical circuits. The research method employed is an experimental design using a pre-experimental (pretest-posttest) approach. The sample consists of 18 twelfth-grade students with diverse academic abilities and learning needs, including students with special needs. Based on data analysis using the Wilcoxon test, a value of 0.000 0.05 (sig α) was obtained. The N-Gain score was 0.6259, which falls within the range of 0.3 - 0.7, categorizing it as moderate. Additionally, the N-Gain percentage reached 62.5944%, indicating that the increase in students' abilities was within the range of 56-75%, considered fairly effective in proving that the use of theory and application in electrical circuit experiments with PhET Simulation had a significant impact on students' critical thinking skills. The average critical thinking skills of the students increased significantly after being given the intervention through theory and application of electrical circuit experiments with PhET Simulation. The conclusion of this study is that PhET Simulation is an effective tool in supporting the learning of electrical circuits and can foster students' critical thinking skills, especially when applied with an inclusive approach.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the competence of chemistry teachers on the use of Information and Communication Technology in learning at SMA Negeri Kubu Raya. The research method used is a quantitative description. The first step of the research carried out was observation after that data collection was carried out. The data collection technique used here is a questionnaire. The subject of this study was a chemistry teacher at Kubu Raya State High School. There are 22 state schools in Kubu Raya, a sample of 10% is taken, then it is rounded up to 3 schools. The selection of this sample is based on the accreditation of these schools. In this study the questionnaire provided can be used to assess four competencies in chemistry teachers, 1) teacher competence in ICT, 2) teacher pedagogical competence, 3) dedactic competence, and 4) social competence. The results of this study obtained an average number of teachers' competence in ICT by 84%. The second competency, namely the teacher's pedagogical competence, gets an average total score of 80%. For the third competency, namely the teacher's dedactic competence, a total average score of 79%. As well as for social competence the teacher gets a total average score of 80%. From this study, the teacher's understanding of ICT competence has the highest score, which means that the teacher already has the basics of using ICT in learning, while dedactic competence gets the lowest average score.

Abstract

Learning media is a tool used as an intermediary to convey messages or information from the sender to the recipient, so that it can stimulate students' attention, feelings, thoughts and interest in the learning process. The aim of this research is to test the validity of developing the Canva application as a learning medium that is suitable for use by teachers and students of class VII SMP by involving validators. Apart from that, it is also able to test the practicality of using Canva as a learning medium and increase students' understanding of the material presented. This research is a type of development research or Research and Development (RD) which aims to develop a product so that it is more effective when used. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews, and validation instruments. The method in this research is a quantitative method for data scores obtained from validators and a qualitative method for data analysis and suggestions given. The results of this research prove that the percentage figures and criteria analysis from validators state that the development of the Canva application as a learning media is suitable for use because it has carried out validation tests by material, language and media experts. This is based on the validation test scores of material experts and language experts with good classification presentation results and media statements revised as necessary. Meanwhile, the media expert validation test with very good classification presentation results and media information did not need to be revised.

Abstract

The teacher's work discipline is the behavior and attitude of obedience and adherence to regulations. Visionary leadership is a leader who has a vision for the future. Research to analyze and describe the visionary leadership of school principals in improving teacher work discipline at SMP Negeri 5 Pontianak. The form of this research is a case study with a qualitative approach. Methods of data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The process of data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, namely data processing is carried out sequentially starting from data reduction, data exposure, conducting verification. Data validity checking techniques use extended observations, increased persistence, triangulation, and member checks. The results of this study are; 1) Principals improve teacher work discipline through exemplary, building communication, and social-human relations that are harmonious and have goals and abilities; 2) Visionary leadership has the ability to determine the school's vision and mission and dare to make decisions. 3) The visionary leadership of the school principal can improve the work discipline of teachers with exemplary leadership, human relations, goals have the ability to formulate vision and mission, dare to make decisions. The conclusion in this study is that the visionary leadership of the principal can improve the work discipline of teachers at SMP Negeri 5 Pontianak.

Abstract

This research aims to optima design as FKIP UNTAN digital ecosystem among students of the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP) at Tanjungpura University (UNTAN) regarding academic articles and journals. Literacy in scientific literature is a crucial component in the development of students' competencies in the fields of education and educational sciences. FKIP as an educational institution needs to pay attention to the use of information technology in providing quality education for its students. Requires a Digital Ecosystem in the form of a system to manage information about accreditation, curriculum, class schedules and student activities. By using this Digital Ecosystem, information can be accessed and managed easily by authorized parties. This research only discusses Silangkau, which is a student activity management application from a Digital Campus ecosystem which will be named OPTIMA. The advantage is that apart from the base system from which the Digital Ecosystem design has been created, it will also help FKIP in producing the data needed to prepare for Faculty accreditation activities more easily and quickly. The nature of data management is in the form of student academic and non-academic data specifications.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the representation, function of cultural mythology in the novel Said Dedes Prayers and Curses by Amalia Yunus, and describes the implementation plan for teaching literature in schools. This research method is a descriptive method with a qualitative research form. The data source is Novel Said Dedes Prayers and Curses Amalia Yunus's work and data on quotations of words, phrases and sentences containing cultural mythology in the novel. The results of this study show a representation of the geographical level, namely around the house, Mount Kawi forest, Mandala, Mount Kampud, State Corner, Temple, Trembesi forest. At the techno-economic level, people are looking for dukun beranak, traders, mirror experts, breeders, fishermen, farmers, and keris experts. The sociological level is that of Buddhist priests, solitary warriors, rulers of the kingdom of Kediri, rulers of tumapel, the maha bhiksu, royal bodyguards, kings and queens, patih courtiers, brahmins, future kings and queens, commoners, concubines, commoners who become kings. The cosmological level is the myth of pamali, baby placenta, smelling of roasted tubers, prenjak bird, about the rooster crowing at midnight, about some bad omens, fasting ceremony, vaginal area that glows blue, Rawarontek ajian, and trembesi forest, it was found that the function of cultural mythology is to give power to humans to take part in natural processes, provide world knowledge, a system for conveying messages, and as a means of education, as well as plans for implementing literary learning in schools.

Abstract

This research was aimed to examine the impact of "˜Short Dialogues"™ in students"™ speaking improvement. The researchers conducted this study on 2023/2024 academic year at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidzul Quran Nurul Furqon in Bintaro, Jakarta, Indonesia. There was one class of 7 graders participated in this study, occupied by 26 students. This study employed quantitative pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test approach. Thus, speaking pre- and post-tests were used as the instruments to collect the data. These data were analyzed statistically by using paired-sample t-test. The quantitative computation revealed that the students gained higher speaking performance in the post-test than in the pre-test in which on average, they gained 85 score in the post-test while in the pre-test was 43.26. To be put into speaking categories, majority of the students were in "˜poor"™ level (73.68%) in the pre-test and most of them were in "˜good"™ level (61.54%) in the post-test. Statistically, paired-sample t-test resulted significance value of .001, or lower than 0.05, indicating that the difference gained by the students in terms of their speaking achievement in the two tests was affected by the employment of Short Dialogues technique. Thus, this research concluded that Short Dialogues played an effective role in improving students"™ speaking skill.

Abstract

Social ethos of society is the integrity of the most influential values on a particular people, especially in human behavior. The purpose of this study is to obtain detailed knowledge about the negative aspects in social form, based on the realities in Indonesian society, which can be presented and described through the three aspects of social ethos based on Max Scheler's theory: (1) poverty, (2) ignorance, and (3) ineffectual education. The subject of this study is the novel "Sirkus Pohon" by Andrea Hirata, which contains many relevant realities with this study that will be conducted. Descriptive Qualitative method which is the data consisting of factual information and utilizing a sociological literary approach. The data collection technique involves documentation by selecting literary works as objects, followed by analysis through reading, marking sections, taking notes, literature review, grouping data into a corpus, analyzing, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicated that poverty was influenced by the inability to get basic needs due to high unemployment rates within certain group of society. Consequently, ignorance arose as a result of economic problems, leading to the inability to afford education, which became the primary cause. In the end, ineffectual education occurred due to the narrow-mindedness of individuals, arguing that the outcome of education did not guarantee a decent livelihood and this mindset became the impact of the weakness in the economy and education field that they were facing.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations that have been carried out through providing initial assessments in natural and social science subjects, it was found that there are still many students who are below the KKM, namely 75. So the research aims to apply a problem-based learning model to improve the learning outcomes of VIA SD class students. Tinggimae Presidential Instruction on natural and social science subjects totaling 30 students. The research used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in two learning cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings and four learning stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation and tests. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques include quantitative and qualitative analysis. Based on data analysis, the learning outcomes of class VIA SD Inpres Tinggimae students in the pre-cycle learning completion percentage were 27%. In cycle I carried out two meetings the percentage of learning completeness was 67%, and in cycle II carried out two meetings it increased with learning completeness amounting to 80%. Thus, it can be concluded that using a problem-based learning model can improve the learning outcomes of class VIA SD Inpres Tinggimae students in natural and social science subjects.

Abstract

Tagmemic is a linguistic theory developed by Kennet Lee Pike and used to analyze language, culture, and meaning. This study aims to analyze, clarify, and describe broadly in the preparation of sentence meanings, understood by using the conceptual tool of tagmeme, which focuses on the ethical and emic aspects of meaning consisting of (1) Perspective is a point of view or a description, (2) Hierarchy began with the simplest arrangement, namely words used to make sentences, (3) Context is the form of language based on its origin, and (4) Units are connecting words between two structures; continuous and contradictory. Meanwhile, to understand the structure of sentences using tagmeme characteristics in the form of (1) Slots, (2) Classes, Roles, and (3) Cohesion. The subject is the novel "Lebih Senyap Dari Bisikan" by Andina Dwifatma. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a grammatical semantic approach. Data collection techniques are in the form of documentation studies or literature studies. Analysis techniques include: reading, marking, noting, checking, categorizing, compiling, analyzing, appreciating, interpreting, and concluding. The results of the study are to find out the form of sentence structure and understanding of meaning focusing on ethical characteristics related to understanding meaning from the author's point of view and emic characteristics referring to understanding meaning absorbed through the environment or surrounding within the scope of people's lives as well as affirming meaning in words or sentences based on the culture where the language originates.
