Abstract

Jamu is a traditional Indonesia drink made from a variety of natural ingredients, including spices, herbs, and other natural ingredients. Jamu has a long history and is an important part of the tradition of health and folk medicine in Indonesia. Jamu is part of Indonesia's cultural heritage. Introducing jamu to the world can help increase appreciation for Indonesia's culture and its contribution to global knowledge. This article explores the Institute's efforts in educating and modernizing herbal medicine to gain wider acceptance, especially globally. The purpose of this study is to: introduce jamu as Indonesia's cultural heritage by educating participants on how to properly process ready-to-drink and instant jamu. This research was conducted by presentation, demonstration, and question and answer methods. The results of the study showed that 1) participants who were ambassadors from several countries in Asia, America, and Europe responded positively to jamu as Indonesia's cultural heritage. In general, herbal medicine is preferred as a drink, but they prefer herbal medicine without added sugar. Participants also found out that spices and plants that are considered wild can be processed into drinks that have medicinal properties, and 2) a demonstration using two techniques for making herbal medicine, namely the boiling technique for ready-to-drink herbal medicine and the crystallization technique for instant herbal medicine which has a longer shelf life.

Abstract

SMEs have a major impact in improving the welfare of society through their contribution in moving the wheels of the economy in social life. One example is UD. MJ Fashion Sidoarjo, an SME engaged in conventional shoe craftsmen. However, through the results of interviews and situation analysis with partners, several problems were found including the low quality and quantity of production due to uneven drying results on the entire surface of the sole and upper shoes which have an impact on the low quality and quantity of products that affect the growth of UD's business. MJ Fashion Sidoarjo, causing slow productivity which results in a decrease in competitiveness and loss of customers. As a solution to overcome these problems, the PKM Team conducted a method of direct application of the use of Shoe Press Machines and Automatic Drying Ovens. With the hope of providing a solution to the problem of quality and quantity of shoe production. With the machine, it is anticipated that there will be a significant increase in the aspects of Quality Management and Productivity in the shoe production process while increasing the operational efficiency of UD. MJ Fashion Sidoarjo, but also has the potential to make a positive contribution to the local economy and community welfare through increased competitiveness and business growth.

Abstract

This community service aims to develop a Library Information System at Indonesian School of Davao, Philippines, to improve the efficiency of library management and the accessibility of learning resources for students and teachers. The system was built using the Content Management System (CMS) SLiMS, an open-source platform designed for managing library operations digitally, including inventory recording, book lending, and returns. In implementing this Community Service Program (PKM), the methods used to address the problems at Indonesian School of Davao (SID) were the Diffusion of Science and Technology (Ipteks) and Training. This activity also involved continuous evaluation to ensure the success of the program. The results showed increased efficiency in library management, easier access to information, and improved skills of library staff in using CMS SLiMS. In conclusion, the application of information technology through CMS SLiMS in the library of Indonesian School of Davao has contributed positively to enhancing the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

This community service aims to develop a Village Information System (SID) in Prampelan Village, Karangrejo District, Magetan Regency, to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by increasing information accessibility and village management efficiency. This website-based SID is built with an open-source platform that supports the management of various village information ranging from development programs, public services, to community activities digitally. The methods used are Science and Technology Diffusion and training, involving active participation from village officials and local communities. The results of the community service show an increase in access to information for the community, as well as an increase in the skills of village officials in managing SID. Abstract

Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) plays a crucial role in realizing the educational role and improving students' physical fitness, motor skills, knowledge, healthy and active lifestyles, sportsmanship, and emotional intelligence. However, teacher professionalism is not yet optimal and still requires guidance and direction to achieve learning programs. Furthermore, PJOK teachers are unable to meet or are categorized as not meeting the basic competency requirements in the curriculum. Therefore, the community service team's targeted solution to address the challenges faced by PJOK teachers is to provide training on developing evaluation rubrics. This resulted in an evaluation rubric for the knowledge and skills components. Each basic competency is described, and each component contains several indicators included in the evaluation rubric. The methods used in this community service include lectures, discussions, practice, outcome measurement, and follow-up. The partner in this community service is the Surabaya Community Service Group (KKG). The product of this activity is a completed evaluation rubric that can be applied by teachers based on their needs and implemented in PJOK learning. Meanwhile, the outputs of this community service activity include ISSN journal articles, mass media publications, intellectual property rights, and community service products.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to formulate an interactive E-Book as a learning resource for Culinary Arts students enrolled in the Laboratory Management course at the State University of Surabaya (UNESA). The E-Book was developed utilizing the ADDIE approach (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), which assures that the design, implementation, and evaluation processes are organized and systematic. The findings of this study show that the learning resource effectively accommodates students' academic needs while also increasing their interest and grasp of laboratory management topics. Validation by subject matter and media specialists resulted in high average scores in design, substance, and utility categories. Furthermore, studies including students received great feedback, with an average assessment score of more than 80%, putting the E-Book in the "excellent" category.

Abstract

The PKM activity was carried out in order to help Talikur Bag MSMEs engaged in the field of Talikur Bag Creative Crafts located in Kandangan Village RT 02 and RW 02, Srengat District, Blitar Regency, East Java, become digitally literate MSMEs. In order to have the ability in digital marketing, Talikur Bag business actors in the village must have an understanding, skills and implement sustainable digital marketing which can ultimately increase sales. It is necessary to carry out PKM related to digital marketing to compete in the digital world. Digital Marketing is the key to the success of a business carried out, which in this activity includes promotional activities and seeking market share through digital media by utilizing several digital platforms. This activity was held on May 3, 2024 online at 16.00-18.00 and May 4-5, 2024 offline at: FX Labs Coffee & Eatery, Jl. Ahmad Yani no 121 Blitar starting at: 08.00 - 15.30. This activity was attended by 10 (ten) UMKM. UMKM Talikur Bag actors engaged in the field of Talikur Bag Creative Crafts located in Kandangan Village RT 02 and RW 02, Srengat District, Blitar Regency, East Java. The materials discussed were: Marketing strategies, Creating Digital Marketing content, Digital Marketing as a whole.

Abstract

UMKM seasoning LLR is one of the UMKM that produces cooking spices. UMKM seasoning LLR is located in Putat village RT.05 / RW.01, Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo. Natural cooking spices produced by UMKM seasoning LLR made from selected natural spices consisting of shallots, garlic, various empon-empon tubers, and leaves. Based on observations made by the community service team in collaboration with students, it has been found that there are two problems, namely in the production and management aspects. In the production aspect, in particular, the process of cleaning raw materials includes the process of peeling and washing with tools only knives and ordinary washing tubs which take a very long time and a lot of labor. Problems in the management aspect are due to weak business management, especially in business bookkeeping and marketing management. Implementation of activities that include the preparation stage, implementation stage, monitoring and evaluation. The semi-automatic roller brush method multipurpose cleaning machine can increase production. The large capacity of the machine can speed up the process of washing materials and does not require a lot of labor. The machine has a capacity of 165 kg/hour. The machine is also equipped with a roller brush of seven plastic brush models so that it is elastic and also equipped with a spray model water hose to make it easier and able to remove dirt to difficult parts. The implementation of a multipurpose cleaning machine using the roller brush method can increase the speed of the washing process by about 15 times compared to the manual method. The washing results from the machine are also cleaner, more hygienic and the operation and maintenance of the machine is very easy. Management training using e-commerce and bookkeeping can increase knowledge to improve product.

Abstract

This activity aims to analyze the role of Puspaga Semanggi in improving the quality of  community services in Surabaya city, especially in the field of family development and child  protection. The method used is a descriptive approach through interviews and direct  observation during the internship program at the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child  Protection and Population Control and Family Planning (DP3APPKB). This activity found that Puspaga Semanggi has a significant contribution in providing counseling, education,  socialization, and guidance services supported by the One Stop Service strategy. Programs  such as Pre-Marriage Classes, parenting, and webinars show effectiveness in reaching the  wider community. In conclusion, Puspaga Semanggi plays an important role as a preventive  measure in improving social welfare, with the support of professional workforce and  community involvement.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic malnutrition problem caused by a lack of nutritional intake or feeding that is not in accordance with nutritional needs. Stunting can also be defined as a condition where the body is short or very short based on the index of body length according to age or height according to age. One of the causes of stunting in toddlers is the lack of parental understanding of the fulfillment of children's nutritional intake. Therefore, this counseling activity aims to increase parents' knowledge of their toddlers' health. The method used is the descriptive-qualitative method with data collection through observation and interviews. Counseling activities were carried out at Karanganyarr Village Hall, Ambulu District, Jember Regency. From this counseling activity, it was found that most mothers in Karanganyar Village did not know what stunting was. With this counseling, it was concluded that there was an increase in mothers' knowledge of stunting. This can be seen from the emergence of several questions during the question and answer session.
