Abstract

Skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) is a superior fishery commodity with high economic value in South Sulawesi. Skipjack tuna has a high nutritional content, such as protein, omega 3 and vitamins, so it can be used as processed shredded meat. This service aims to increase the production of one of the home industries, namely Kedai Shafa, by improving the nutritional quality of shredded products by adding banana bud as a vegetable source. Apart from that, improving marketing and service quality can increase sales of shredded meat. Banana bud are a source of protein which can protect the heart because act as antioxidant. The target partners for this service are 12 people and include economically productive community groups. This activity was carried out using Community Development, educational, persuasive and participatory methods. The result was an increase in partner knowledge by 85 – 95% regarding the benefits of skipjack floss combined with banana blossom, use of tools and marketing strategies. Apart from that, this service activity also produced a product innovation, namely shredded skipjack tuna with the addition of banana blossoms which are beneficial for health

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide training and strengthen communication to farmer groups about certified oil palm nurseries. The activity partner is a farmer group (Poktan) Putra Mandiri of Gunung Ambat village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. The productivity of oil palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB) in this village is still low because the oil palm seeds used are "mariles ” seeds or random seeds that are not certified. The form of activities carried out are: (a) Training to partners on certified oil palm seedlings and seedling techniques, and (b) Practical practice of planting certified oil palm sprouts on partner land with DXP Simalungun variety. The results of the training and practical practice showed an increase in the knowledge and skills of farmer groups about certified palm oil seeds and nursery techniques, as well as the formation of a more effective communication model in the form of a combination of theory and practical practice. Strengthening this communication is key in conveying clear and applicable information, so that it can encourage the sustainability of more productive oil palm farming businesses.

Abstract

Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tanjungpura University, carried out community service entitled "Interactive Workshop with Mentimeter, Crosswords and Wordwalls for Teachers at SMAN 1 Sajingan Border Malindo". The school's location on the Indonesia-Malaysia border demands education that is globally competitive. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure and lack of teacher training are obstacles. Therefore, the aim of this workshop is to increase the teachers profesionalism at SMAN 1 Sajingan through assessing the more interactive and innovative learning by utilizing digital platforms such as Mentimeter, Crosswords, and Wordwall. This activity includes training, interactive discussions, and guidance in designing participatory assessments. Evaluation of the activity shows a significant increase in teacher competence in developing innovative assessment, with more than 60% of participants agreeing and 30% strongly agreed that this workshop increased teacher competency and benefited directly from the series of workshops. Participants hope for longer and more sustainable training sessions.

Abstract

Teachers at SDN Pandanwangi 3 Malang rely heavily on textbooks and powerpoint in their learning activities due to limited references to develop other methods that can attract students' interest. Thus, this training aims to improve teachers' literacy competencies and promote interactive and fun learning methods. Various digital children’s literature were exposed to 30 teachers participating in the training which took place at 17 July (offline), 24 July and 31 July (online via zoom), and 7 August (offline). The training method included material presentation and practical coaching. The results of the training indicated high enthusiasm from teachers in enhancing their literacy competencies and developing interactive and fun learning by integrating reading books.

Abstract

UMKM Roemah Jamoer Ikram merupakan unit Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) yang fokus pada pengembangan jamur tiram. Sejak berdiri pada tahun 2016, UMKM ini mengalami beberapa kendala dalam pengembangan produk dan pemasaran, termasuk kegagalan panen dan penumpukan bahan baku akibat umur simpan yang singkat. Adapun tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan peningkatan nilai produk pada jamur tiram yang berada di Roemah Jamoer Ikram. Hasil dari kegiatan ini melibatkan proses pengeringan bahan baku dan pengolahan kaldu dengan menggunakan alat pengering (oven). Pendekatan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu metode partisipatif. Kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pengolahan jamur tiram menjadi produk kaldu dapat membantu mengurangi kerugian akibat panen berlebih, memperpanjang umur simpan, dan meningkatkan nilai tambah produk.  Meskipun demikian kondisi harga bahan baku pembuatan kaldu yang fluktuatif perlu mendapatkan perhatian agar tidak memberikan dampak kerugian. Program pengbadian masyarakat ini menjadi salah satu upaya dalam mendukung keberlanjutan usaha serta berkontribusi peningkatan ekonomi lokal di Kabupaten Sambas.

Abstract

Based on data from the Sarmi District Health Office in 2023, the prevalence of stunting among children under five reached 22.5%, spread across 11 community health centers. This figure remains far above the national target of 14%, necessitating intensive efforts to reduce it. In 2024, a study conducted by nursing students at Cenderawasih University revealed that in the Betaf health center area, 21.2% (55 out of 259) of children under five were stunted. Additionally, the Betaf health center reported that Kampung Komra itself recorded 15 cases of stunting in 2023. The high prevalence of stunting in this area has motivated the team to implement a community partnership program aimed at empowering Posyandu mothers, who play a crucial role in health and nutrition education for pregnant women and young children. This community service program aims to reduce stunting rates in Kampung Komra through health education, strengthening food independence with the implementation of Sustainable Food House Areas (KRPL), aquaponics-based fish farming, and the use of information technology in stunting prevention. Nutritional status measurements of children under five in the Posyandu of Kampung Komra indicate that 35% are stunted, underscoring the need for continuous interventions to meet the nutritional needs of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and young children.Given the high stunting rate and the community's limited ability to independently meet their food needs, this program should be continued periodically. Additionally, the program should be supported with intensive training for Posyandu mothers and access to affordable food resources, considering the community's preference for hunting over livestock farming, low economic conditions, and high commodity prices.

Abstract

Desa Punggur Kecil mempunyai potensi perkebunan kopi yang selama ini telah diusahakan turun temurun, namun kualitas kopi yang dihasilkan tidak konsisten. Hal ini karena tidak dilakukan penerapan teknologi pascapanen dengan baik sehingga diperlukan transfer pengetahuan mengenai pascapanen kopi. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi kegiatan pascapanen yang dilakukan oleh mitra, sehingga dapat memperbaiki proses pascapanen kopi dan menghasilkan kopi yang berkualitas. Metode yang dilakukan adalah evaluasi teknik pascapanen kopi yang telah dilakukan mitra. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa bahwa petani mitra tidak melakukan sortasi biji kopi sehingga menghasilkan biji kopi yang tidak seragam. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan petani dari 73% menjadi 93%. Proses sortasi buah kopi juga merupakan hal yang penting, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dari 46,7% menjadi 86,7%. Petani mitra belum mendapatkan banyak informasi tentang pengolahan limbah kopi menjadi produk pangan/non pangan. Disarankan agar Kelompok Tani Juragam Muda melakukan pelatihan yang kontinyu pada petani mitra tentang teknologi pascapanen kopi, kemudian secara bertahap melakukan standar mutu untuk biji kopi yang dihasilkan sehingga akan meningkatkan mutu kopi yang dihasilkan.

Abstract

Mengajar anak usia dini merupakan hal tidak mudah dilakukan oleh guru meskipun berpengalaman. Pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD) adalah jenjang yang menuntut seorang guru mampu berkreasi dalam aktivitas belajar dan bermain. Guru juga dituntut memiliki bekal pengetahuan memahami kondisi psikis dan perkembangan diri anak. Sayangnya, tidak sedikit guru yang minim memahami hal tersebut, terlebih guru di pedesaan. Ketimpangan jumlah siswa dengan guru yang memiliki standar kompetensi dialami oleh PAUD TAPOS Anggrek. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertajuk program pemberdayaan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) tingkat pemahaman guru dalam psikologi anak, dan (2) kemampuan guru mendampingi proses belajar dan bermain anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan guru belum memahami aspek psikologi anak dan melakukan treatment bermain dan belajar. Sementara kegiatan pemberdayaan berbentuk pelatihan pada kategori SEDANG dan terbilang CUKUP EFEKTIF.

Abstract

The community service program focuses on solving environmental problems, especially plastic waste management. This program will provide training and socialization on the technology used to make paving blocks made from a mixture of plastic. With the increasing amount of plastic waste, a creative approach is needed to recycle it and turn it into a useful product. At Posyantek 28 Alamanda, Bekasi City, the community was given training on making paving blocks from a mixture of plastic waste according to SNI 03-0691-1996. The results of the activity showed that the training participants understood the material better and were able to make paving blocks from plastic waste, which produced products that met technical standards. Through its efforts to increase community participation in recycling plastic waste, this program is expected to create new economic opportunities

Abstract

Entrepreneurship among students plays an important role in reducing the unemployment rate in Indonesia. The Entrepreneurial Student Development Program (P2MW) is one of the government's efforts to increase the entrepreneurial capacity of students. This study aims to evaluate the impact of entrepreneurship training in making business proposals which will be held on September 8, 2024 at Griya Housing, Meneng Indah Building, Bandar Lampung. The methods applied include socialisation, workshops, and evaluations through pre-test and post-test. The results of the study show that 100% of participants now understand the essence of making business proposals, with a high level of satisfaction with the material presented and event management. This training is expected to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in higher education and encourage active student participation in the world of entrepreneurship.
