Abstract

The song “Tinggal Sertaku” in Nyanyian Kemenangan Iman (NKI) No. 148 is a work by Henry Francis Lyte that describes a spiritual request for God’s presence, especially when facing suffering and death. This study aims to uncover the message of spirituality in the song through a qualitative narrative approach with Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic method. Data were obtained through literature study, congregation interviews, and analysis of the song’s lyrics which include metric structure, rhyme, and style. The results of the analysis show that this song contains poetic symbols such as “twilight”, “dark”, and “death” which represent the fragility of human life and the eternity of God’s love. This song consists of four verses with varying rhyme patterns and long meter (10.10.10.10). This song is not just a prayer song, but also a declaration of faith in the presence of God who gives strength and hope in all life situations. In conclusion, “Tinggal Sertaku” has high theological and liturgical value and is relevant to be sung in various forms of Christian worship.

Abstract

This study highlights the culture of the Sangihe Talaud community, regarding the M?samper? song. M?samper? is the ancestral culture of the Sangihe community which has been passed down from generation to generation until now. The Sangihe Islands are one of the islands located in North Sulawesi Province. The term Mebawalase Mesampere means to reply in the Sangihe language, which is a singing style where the singers will reply to each other's songs (like replying to pantun). Daralo is a song composition inspired by Mebawalase Mesampere. Researchers found several styles of Mebawalase Mesampere singing in the work of daralo. Researchers also found that the creators of Mebawalase Mesampere songs did not include their names or were anonymous, so that the Mebawalase Mesampere-style songs that were created will gradually become extinct. This study uses qualitative methods with data analysis and interviews. In terms of the creation of Daralo, the style of the song Mebawalase Mesampere is performed using western musical instruments, so that the nuances of the song that characterize Mebawalase Mesampere are more creative and innovative. The results of the study have been performed at STT Jaffray Makassar in a recital as a requirement for the final exam for the concentration of church music.

Abstract

Cirebon glass painting is one of the traditional art forms that contains cultural values, distinctive techniques, and local aesthetics. In facing the challenges of modern times, the sustainability of Cirebon glass painting demands a contextual and adaptive inheritance strategy. This study aims to examine how the values, techniques, and aesthetics in the tradition of Cirebon glass painting are passed down through art education, both in the formal (schools and art colleges) and non-formal (studios and communities) realms. Using a qualitative method with an ethnographic case study approach, data was collected through observation, interviews, and visual documentation. The results show that the inheritance of glass painting does not solely depend on technical skills, but also on the internalization of cultural values and understanding of local aesthetics. Art education plays a role as a medium for intergenerational inheritance, although in its implementation it faces various challenges, such as limited curriculum integration, lack of regeneration of artists, and the need for innovative learning methods that are in accordance with the contemporary cultural context. This study recommends strengthening collaboration between educational institutions, traditional art practitioners and communities in designing a sustainable art inheritance model.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are an essential competency in 21st-century mathematics learning. This study aims to analyze trends in innovation in mathematics learning models that contribute to the development of students' critical thinking skills through a systematic literature review approach. Articles were collected from various scientific databases such as Google Scholar, ERIC, ScienceDirect, and accredited national journals, with inclusion criteria being publications from 2015–2025, full access, and relevance to the topic. Of the 15 selected articles, it was found that learning models such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), Project-Based Learning (PjBL), STEM-based learning, and digital media integration such as Wordwall are the dominant approaches that have proven effective. These models are able to develop critical thinking dimensions such as analysis, evaluation, reflection, and problem-solving. However, challenges in implementation such as teacher readiness and limited resources remain major obstacles. This study recommends strengthening teacher training and policy support as strategic steps in encouraging the adoption of innovative learning models that have an impact on improving the quality of students' critical thinking.

Abstract

Spiritual-based character education is increasingly important in addressing the moral challenges of the younger generation in the era of globalization. This study aims to analyze the management of a spiritual-based guidance and counseling (BK) program at SMA Negeri 1 Way Khilau, Pesawaran Regency. The study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Research informants included the principal, BK teachers, religious teachers, and students. The results showed that the BK program management was carried out through four main stages: planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. This program integrated counseling services with spiritual habits such as Dhuha prayer, morning sermons, and Islamic mentoring. Program evaluation indicated increased discipline, student involvement in religious activities, and strengthening of religious character. The program's success was supported by a religious school culture and the principal's leadership, although obstacles remained such as a limited number of BK teachers and low parental involvement. This study confirms that the integration of spiritual values in BK services is an effective strategy for shaping student character and can serve as a model of good practice for other schools.

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia faces the challenges of curriculum stagnation and a crisis of integration between religious values and modern science. K.H. Ahmad Dahlan, as the founder of Muhammadiyah, offered the idea of modern Islamic education that emphasizes the integration of progressive and religious values. This study aims to examine Ahmad Dahlan's thoughts in the context of contemporary Islamic education. The method used is a literature study of primary and secondary works, with a historical-critical approach. The results of the study indicate that Ahmad Dahlan's educational concept is transformative, combining the teachings of the Qur'an, active learning methods, and acceptance of modern science. The main findings reveal a gap between Ahmad Dahlan's idealism and current Islamic educational practices, especially in the aspects of value integration and digital literacy. The conclusion demonstrates the importance of recontextualizing Ahmad Dahlan's thoughts in designing an Islamic education system that is adaptive to the challenges of the times without abandoning spiritual values.

Abstract

The iPresensi Berau website is an online attendance system used by State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to record attendance in real time, while also supporting transparency and accountability in human resource management. This study aims to evaluate the quality of iPresensi Berau services from a user perspective by combining the WebQual 4.0 method—covering the dimensions of usability, information quality, and service interaction—and Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA). A descriptive quantitative approach was used through the distribution of a Google Form-based questionnaire to ASN in Berau Regency. Data analysis included calculating the level of conformity and mapping attributes in the IPA quadrant. The results showed that the average level of conformity between the level of importance and performance reached 98.90%, indicating that the website's performance has generally met user expectations. The IPA mapping identified three attributes in Quadrant I (top priority for improvement): (1) easy to understand site interactions, (2) easy to navigate, and (3) easy to understand information. Meanwhile, several attributes, such as clear website instructions, accurate information presentation, and secure and protected user data, fall into Quadrant II (maintained). These findings underscore the importance of improving interface aspects and information understandability, while maintaining the quality of already high-performing attributes.
