Abstract

This study aimed to determine the fine motor skills of kindergarten children through montage activities. The method used in this study is pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this study were children aged 5–6 years. The study involved all children, consisting of 8 children. In this study, all children participated in the pre-test to determine the initial condition of fine motor skills, then were given treatment using montage activities. A post-test was conducted to determine the final condition of the children before and after being given treatment. The data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, and tests. The data obtained is in the form of scores and is then processed using statistical methods. The data analysis techniques used in this research are the normality test and the t-test. It is proven that montage activities affect children's fine motor skills based on the paired sample t-test with a significance level of 0.05.

One of the potentials and abilities of children that need to be developed by educators and parents is the potential social-emotional abilities of children. Harmonious interaction will facilitate the child's socialization process. So the family is the most critical institution in child development. This research uses case study research with descriptive qualitative research methods involving teachers, parents, and children, Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. This research was conducted at Qurrota A'yun Kindergarten, East Betung Bay.  The sample was shown to parents who have early childhood and attend Qurrota A'yun Kindergarten in East Betung Bay. Then the data that has been collected is analyzed and presented in narrative form so that the desired conclusions can be drawn.  The results showed that the role of family education in children's social-emotional development at Qurrota A'yun Kindergarten in Teluk Betung Timur plays a good role. This is due to the exemplary education carried out by parents/family in words, deeds, attitudes, and behavior that can help children know feelings of pleasure, sadness, anger and fear. Abstract

Teachers and students use Ambonese Malay in learning Indonesian because learning a second language is inseparable from knowledge of the first language mastered by early childhood. This study aims to determine the effect of using Ambonese Malay on Indonesian language learning in early childhood education. This research is a sociolinguistic study to describe the phenomenon of language use. This study's results indicate three influences of the use of Ambonese Malay on students' learning of Indonesian. First, Ambonese Malay has a role as a 'language transfer tool' for children learning to understand a second language, namely Indonesian. Second, it is easy for the teacher to teach Indonesian to children because they can use Ambonese Malay vocabulary as the language of instruction to help students understand what the teacher means by learning Indonesian. Third, students gain knowledge of Indonesian vocabulary through the Ambonese Malay used by students and teachers in class.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes can measure the achievement of learning objectives, so increased learning outcomes can also determine the success of a lesson. Efforts to improve student learning outcomes can be made by implementing Classroom Action Research (CAR). Providing action in the form of a game-based learning approach using maze game media in classes where the learning process tends to be monotonous has the potential to be a solution to improving student learning outcomes. This action was carried out on class II students who had problems with low student learning outcomes. At the pre-cycle stage, the average grade II grade was only 51.6, and the classical completeness was only 40%. The action in applying a game-based learning approach using maze game media given to class II succeeded in increasing student learning outcomes in each cycle. In the first cycle, the average score was 68.3 and the classical learning mastery was 65.2%; in the second cycle, the average value was 78.3 and the classical learning mastery was 82.6%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop flashcard media for introducing the culture of Central Java. This study also used development research (R&D), which was carried out in two trials, namely the one-to-one trial and the small group trial. The subjects in this study were to get to know the culture of the Central Java region, while the objects in this study were 10 students. The data were collected using guidelines in the form of observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The analysis used is qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the Flashcard media developed through a series of trials and validations is declared feasible. The results of the one-to-one trial get a percentage of 87.50%, and the results of the small group trial get a percentage of 83.60%; both categories are very good or very decent. Therefore, based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that Flashcard media is appropriate for use in learning to introduce Central Java regional culture to students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of robotics activities on improving the creative thinking skills of early childhood. This study used quanitative research with the Single Subject Design (SSD) method. The research design used in this study is using the A-B-A reversal design. Data collection was carried out using with a pre-test post-test experimental research design without clear control. The results of this study indicate that robotics activities can improve the creative thinking skills of early childhood. Robotics activities can improve creative thinking skills because the implementation of robotics activities is an activity based on constructive and manipulative activities. The characteristics of creative thinking skills that are improved through robotic activities are fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration, and tenacity and patience. The relationship between robotics activities and creative thinking skills is that robotics activities are designed to follow environmental developments. So that it can bring out creativity in humans in developing ideas and become a means of realizing these creative ideas.

Abstract

Early childhood fine motor development can be obtained through supportive learning media. One of them is with paper media. Children can crumple the paper and make patterns on paper with paper media. In this study, the use of writing as a medium is used for weaving activities from articles. In addition to utilizing form as a learning medium, weaving activities are an Indonesian cultural heritage that must be introduced to the next generation early. This research is a class action research, while the object is carried out on 25 RA children in Lampung. The results of this study indicate that most children's motor skills can develop as expected (BSH) through weaving activities with paper in children. Weaving activities can train children's skills in coordinating their eyes and hands, especially finger movements, to stimulate skills in controlling actions involving small or delicate muscles.

Abstract

This paper describes parents’ role in building mental spiritual, moral and intellectual children through approaches and methods. The presentation of this paper is based on the analysis of library data with a descriptive model.  From the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that the role of parents is the first and foremost educator for children, because it is from them that children first get basic education. Thus the first education obtained by children is from family life. Parent’s failure to foster children's morals to make them virtuous will not occur if they carry out their function or role as parents responsible for children. The presence of parents is very influential on children. Because obedience to children's religious, moral, and intellectual teachings is a habit that children learn in their family environment, parents must set a good example for their children. So that children can imitate what their parents have done

Abstract

Along with the development of science and technology, there are various kinds of learning media that can be used to develop students' fine motor skills, one of which is plasticine media. The use of this media must be supported by an action in a classroom study. This research is a Classroom Action Research with descriptive qualitative research type. The formulation of the problem discusses whether the use of plasticine media can develop fine motor skills of Early Childhood at Mutiara Insani Kindergarten Bandar Lampung. The data collection techniques that researchers use are the observation method as the main method, the documentation method as a support in research and the interview method to find out the extent of the teacher's response to the application of the storytelling method in improving children's morale. The results of this study showed an increase in children's language skills in cycle I by 60% and in cycle II by 85%. Based on these results, the author can conclude that the use of plasticine media can develop children's fine motor skills at Mutiara Insani Kindergarten Bandar Lampung. The results can be seen from the development of students where in the pre-research cycle it is known that students who reach the assessment standards develop very well there are only 8 children out of all 20 students. Then in cycle I, children who have very good fine motor skills increase to 12 children and in cycle II increase again to 17 students or 85% of students have reached the predetermined assessment standards.
