Abstract

Patients provide critical feedback on healthcare delivery, and satisfaction levels tend to rise when service performance exceeds patient expectations. Research is being conducted at the Mulyoharjo Health Center, Pemalang Regency, to inquire the proceeds of service quality and healthcare facilities on patient satisfaction. Our study employed a quantitative observational draw utilizing a cross-sectional design that involved 100 outpatients selected using purposive sampling. In addition to normality assessments, multiple linear regressions, t-tests, F-tests, coefficient of determination analysis, and TCR evaluations, data were analyzed using a several of statistical techniques. According to the results, both service quality and facility availability contribute significantly and positively to patient satisfaction, on both an individual and collective basis. In contrast, the F-test value reached 200.767, which was significantly higher than the threshold of 3.09 for the F-table, while the t-test results indicated that patient satisfaction was significantly affected by service quality (t-count: 11.200) and facilities (t-count: 4.184), exceeding the critical t-value of 1.660. The TCR method was also used to analyze the quality of service, availability of facilities, and overall patient satisfaction. Service quality and facility accessibility contributed 80.1% of the discrepancy in patient satisfaction, with the remaining 19.9% attributable to other factors not taken into account. In summary, the findings affirm that service quality and facility availability play a crucial role in enhancing patient satisfaction at the Mulyoharjo Health Center.

Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of death worldwide, including in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) where in 2022 there were 130,084 cases of death due to NCDs. Kupang City reported 10,943 cases. In the Oesapa Health Center area, the most common NCDs found were hypertension and diabetes mellitus. This study examines the implementation of the POSBINDU NCD program using the RE-AIM (Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation, Maintenance) framework. The phenomenological qualitative approach involved seven informants, namely one program manager and six supporting participants. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews and observations. This program has succeeded in reaching individuals aged 15–59 years, both healthy and at risk, through activities in the workplace, schools, places of worship, and the community, with the support of local community leaders. POSBINDU was adopted as a tool for early detection, education, and control of NCDs. This program is planned to be continued through Integrated Primary Services (PPT). However, implementation and effectiveness are still limited due to low community participation, few trained health cadres, and inadequate infrastructure (e.g., equipment, health records, documentation). These challenges reduce the quality and impact of services.

Abstract

Eating behavior in adolescents can be influenced by various factors, one of which is smartphone use. Adolescents, who are in a critical stage of development, are vulnerable to the negative impacts of excessive smartphone use, including changes in eating patterns. This study aims to analyze the relationship between smartphone use and eating behavior among adolescents in Oesapa Subdistrict. This is a descriptive analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 86 adolescents aged 15–19 years. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of two sections: questions regarding the duration of smartphone use and adolescent eating behavior. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test to examine the relationship between the two variables. The results showed that among the 86 respondents, smartphone use was categorized as high (87%), and eating behavior was categorized as good (85%). The chi-square analysis indicated that there was no significant relationship between smartphone use and eating behavior (p-value = 0.360) among adolescents in Oesapa Subdistrict. Adolescents are encouraged to reduce their level of smartphone use, maintain healthy eating habits, and engage in regular physical activity.

Abstract

The Alak Final Disposal Site (TPA) is the only landfill in Kupang City. It has been operating since 1998 and covers an area of 9.14 hectares. The Alak landfill has operated for over 20 years and uses the controlled landfill method in its waste disposal operations. Scavengers are part of the waste management ecosystem at the landfill and play a role in waste reduction by sorting and collecting recyclable materials, thereby helping to reduce the overall waste burden at the site. This study aims to examine the contribution of scavengers in reducing waste at the Alak landfill in Kupang City. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive analysis. The sample consisted of all active scavengers at the Alak landfill from 35 households. The sampling technique used was total sampling, where the entire population that met the criteria was included in the study. The research was conducted for 8 days. Results showed that the most frequently collected waste at the Alak landfill was plastic waste with 2023.85 Kg from the total waste collected. Cans follow as the second most common type of waste with a total of 658.05 kg, cardboard waste amounts to 381 kg, scrap metal to 334.03 kg, and used tires to 187.5 Kg. Scavengers contribute to reducing waste at the Alak landfill around 1.92 % of the total waste entering the landfill each day.

Abstract

Medical tourism is the activity of patients traveling across countries to obtain better or more affordable medical services. Since 2012, Bali International Medical Center (BIMC) Siloam Nusa Dua Hospital has focused on cosmetic surgery and dental tourism services through the CosMedic Center. After the Covid-19 pandemic, patient visits decreased by 70%, while other medical tourism centers in Bali have grown rapidly, thus requiring BIMC to increase its competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the implementation of medical tourism services in improving hospital competitiveness. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with an in-depth interview method with key informants. The results show that at the pre-hospital stage, 24-hour service is not optimal and patient interest in choosing a complete package (transportation, accommodation, tour) is still low. At the hospital service stage, there is no special inpatient room for medical tourists, while the post-hospital stage runs according to the SOP. Collaboration with the Travel Agency (BPW) revealed the limitations in the quality and quantity of certified medical tourism guides. In conclusion, the implementation of the SOP for medical tourism at BIMC Siloam Nusa Dua has been running according to Permenkes No. 76 of 2015, but to strengthen competitiveness, it is necessary to improve 24-hour services, strengthen promotion and branding, develop special inpatient room facilities, and improve the quality and number of medical tourism guides. These findings are expected to be the strategic basis for developing sustainable medical tourism in Bali.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and synthesize the legal responsibilities of traditional health service providers under Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health. Using a qualitative approach with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) design, the research identifies regulatory developments and legal practices relevant to traditional health services in Indonesia. Data collection involved online databases such as Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar, using keywords like “legal responsibility,” “traditional health services,” and “Health Law No. 17 of 2023.” Samples were purposively selected based on inclusion criteria, including publications from 2023 to 2025 explicitly discussing legal issues in traditional health services. The study employed a systematic protocol comprising selection guidelines, quality criteria, and data extraction formats. Thematic analysis was used to identify key patterns such as forms of legal responsibility, mechanisms for patient protection, and standards for traditional health practices. The findings reveal that Law No. 17 of 2023 provides a more comprehensive legal framework by regulating administrative obligations, civil responsibilities, and criminal sanctions for traditional health service providers. Additionally, the law strengthens patient protection mechanisms through quality standardization, practice licenses, and service transparency. Despite its limitation in not conducting field studies and potential bias from online literature, the research process upheld scientific integrity and academic transparency. The study significantly contributes to understanding the relevance of traditional health regulations in legal practice in Indonesia and serves as a foundation for future policy development.
