Abstract

This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects of servant leadership, empowerment, self efficacy, work motivation, and quality culture on the organizational commitment of teachers in Center of Excellence Vocational High Schools (SMK Pusat Keunggulan), and to identify improvement strategies using SITOREM analysis. A quantitative survey was conducted on 119 teachers from 18 private Center of Excellence Vocational High Schools in Bogor Regency, selected through proportional random sampling. Instruments were adapted from standardized scales. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM and SITOREM. The measurement model met convergent validity, discriminant validity  and reliability . The R2 for organizational commitment was 0.685, indicating that 68.5% of its variance was explained by the five predictors. Work motivation had the strongest direct effect, followed by quality culture. All direct and mediating effects were significant. SITOREM identified five priority indicators for improvement sharing leadership, participation in decision making, member engagement, classroom management, achievement motivation and five outstanding indicators to be maintained. Enhancing teachers organizational commitment is most effectively achieved by strengthening work motivation and quality culture. Operational recommendations based on the priority indicators are provided for school principals and education authorities. Future research should employ longitudinal designs

Abstract

Contemporary educational discourse often faces a dichotomy between rigid behavioral measurement and fluid humanistic development, frequently neglecting the spiritual-emotional essence in Islamic contexts. This study explores the philosophical and practical integration of Behaviorism, Constructivism, and Humanism within the framework of a "Love-Based Curriculum (Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta) from the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy. The primary purpose of this research is to investigate how Islamic education teachers perceive and implement this synthesis to bridge modern Western pedagogical theories with traditional Islamic values. Employing a qualitative approach with Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), the study gathered data through in-depth interviews with educators selected for their commitment to compassionate pedagogy. The results indicate that "Love" serves as the foundational bridge, where Behaviorism is reinterpreted as Uswah (exemplary habituation), Constructivism is manifested through Tafakkur (reflective meaning-making), and Humanism is grounded in the honoring of Fitrah (innate potential). The study concludes that a Love-Based Curriculum offers a robust philosophical framework that transcends mere instructional techniques, positioning the teacher as a Murabbi who harmonizes psychological efficiency with spiritual depth. This research suggests that such a synthesis is essential for creating a holistic educational environment that fosters both intellectual competence and moral integrity in the modern era

Abstract

Teacher innovation is essential for improving educational quality in vocational high schools (SMK), particularly in responding to rapid industrial and technological changes. This study investigates the direct and indirect effects of digital leadership, professional learning community (PLC), proactive personality, knowledge sharing, and creative self-efficacy on teacher innovation among civil servant teachers in public vocational schools in Depok City, Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 158 teachers selected through proportional random sampling and analyzed through path analysis and SITOREM (Scientific Identification Theory to Conduct Operation Research in Education Management). The findings indicate that all variables positively contribute to teacher innovation, with knowledge sharing emerging as the strongest predictor, followed by proactive personality and creative self-efficacy. In addition, knowledge sharing and creative self-efficacy serve as important mediating mechanisms that strengthen the relationships between organizational and individual factors and teacher innovation. The SITOREM analysis further identified priority areas requiring improvement and indicators that should be maintained. These findings underscore the importance of integrating organizational, social, and psychological dimensions to enhance teacher innovation. The study provides both theoretical contributions through an integrated model and practical implications for educational policymakers, school leaders, and teacher professional development initiatives.

Abstract

Curiosity is a fundamental aspect of human cognitive development that plays a crucial role in the formation and development of knowledge. From a cognitive psychology perspective, curiosity is understood as an internal drive that arises due to an information gap. In neuroscience, this phenomenon is related to the activity of the dopamine system, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex, which support learning, memory, and decision-making. This study aims to analyze curiosity from a cognitive psychology and neuroscience perspective and examine its epistemological implications in education and the legal system. The method used is library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach and content analysis of relevant scientific literature. The results of the study indicate that curiosity has a strong neurobiological basis and plays a key role in the exploration and learning process. Epistemologically, curiosity is the foundation for critical and reflective knowledge construction. The implication in education is the importance of implementing inquiry-based learning, while in the legal system, curiosity needs to be managed ethically to support the search for truth and justice.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Hijaiyah letter recognition method in learning to read the Qur’an at State Islamic Elementary Schools (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri/MIN) in Medan City, as well as to analyze the obstacles encountered and its impact on improving students’ Qur’anic reading ability. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included Qur’an–Hadith teachers, school principals, and students at MIN 1, MIN 7, and MIN 12 Medan. The findings indicate that Qur’anic reading instruction was conducted using the Iqra’ method combined with a gradual Hijaiyah letter recognition approach. This method was implemented in several stages, including the introduction of Hijaiyah letters, the introduction of vowel marks (harakat), sukun, and shaddah (tasydid), as well as manipulative exercises in arranging letters and modifying vowel signs. The results reveal that some students still experienced difficulties in recognizing Hijaiyah letters, reading connected letters, and understanding Qur’anic diacritical marks. However, after the intensive and systematic application of the Hijaiyah letter recognition method, there was a significant improvement in students’ reading fluency and confidence in reciting the Qur’an. The supporting factors for the success of this method included a structured teaching strategy, active teacher involvement, and the availability of additional guidance programs outside regular class hours. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors consisted of limited instructional time, low learning motivation among some students, and a lack of support from the family environment. Therefore, the Hijaiyah letter recognition method can be recommended as an effective alternative approach to improving Qur’anic reading skills among students at the elementary madrasah level
