Abstract

Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases with a high prevalence in rural communities, including in Rajadatu Village, Cineam District. On the other hand, local natural resources such as corn silk have not been optimally utilized and tend to become waste. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge, awareness, and skills of the community in controlling hypertension through the use of corn silk processed into herbal tea. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which actively involves the community from the problem identification, planning, implementation, to evaluation stages. The community service activity was carried out through health education on hypertension and its prevention, as well as training on processing corn silk into herbal tea using simple equipment. The results of the activity showed an increase in the community's understanding of hypertension and the potential benefits of corn silk as a non-pharmacological alternative in controlling blood pressure. In addition, the community is able to understand the process of making corn silk tea. This activity not only contributed to increased health awareness but also encouraged the sustainable use of local resources. Thus, this program has the potential to become a model for promotive and preventive interventions based on community empowerment in rural areas.

Abstract

Ramadan, as the sacred month in the Islamic calendar, holds strategic momentum for fostering students' spiritual and social development. The pesantren Ramadan program—commonly implemented in Islamic schools—has traditionally focused on cognitive religious education, such as lectures and memorization. However, this approach often lacks meaningful real-life applications, leading to limited impact on students’ character development. Service Learning (SL) emerges as a transformative educational model that integrates academic instruction with community service, offering students direct engagement with societal needs while internalizing religious values. This study explores the integration of SL into Pesantren Ramadan as a method to enhance students' spiritual, social, and moderate (tawasuth) values. Conducted through a community-based participatory framework, the program centres on local settings such as schools, mosques, and surrounding neighborhoods, emphasizing contextually relevant interventions. The findings suggest that when Pesantren Ramadan activities are designed around SL principles, students demonstrate increased empathy, responsibility, and the ability to apply Islamic teachings in real-life situations. This integrative approach not only strengthens character education but also ensures the sustainability of religious moderation in plural societies.

Abstract

Low interest in learning mathematics among junior high school students remains a persistent challenge in mathematics education. This condition is influenced not only by the complexity of mathematical content but also by affective factors such as learning motivation, emotional experiences, and students’ perceptions of mathematics. This study aims to examine the effect of the Motivation Session: Be Happy with Mathematics on improving students’ interest in learning mathematics at the junior high school level. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design. The participants were eighth-grade students divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected using a mathematics learning interest questionnaire covering indicators of interest, attention, engagement, and learning sustainability. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results revealed a significant increase in mathematics learning interest among students who participated in the Motivation Session: Be Happy with Mathematics compared to those who received conventional instruction. These findings indicate that a structured motivational intervention oriented toward positive emotional experiences is effective in enhancing junior high school students’ interest in learning mathematics. Therefore, motivational sessions that promote enjoyable learning experiences can serve as a supportive strategy in mathematics instruction.

Abstract

The Tropical Cyclone Senyar disaster that occurred in Pidie Jaya Regency caused damage to residential environments and public facilities in Meunasah Bie Village, Meurah Dua District. This condition requires efforts to restore the environment while strengthening community capacity to face potential disasters in the future. This community service activity aimed to support post-disaster recovery and enhance community awareness and preparedness toward disaster risks. The methods used in this program included field observation, a participatory approach involving the local community, collective cleaning activities of village facilities and residents’ houses, development of disaster-related infographics, disaster education sessions, and psychosocial support activities for children. The results indicated that the implemented programs helped accelerate the recovery of public facilities and residential environments. Furthermore, disaster education and infographic dissemination improved community understanding of disaster mitigation and preparedness. Psychosocial activities for children also contributed positively to reducing emotional distress following the disaster. Therefore, this community service program contributed to post-disaster recovery while strengthening community awareness and resilience toward disaster risks.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education is crucial for facing the challenges of 21st-century learning. However, based on observations at MI Darul Ihsan Salohe, the learning process is still dominated by conventional methods, the use of digital learning media is still limited, learning evaluation is carried out manually, and the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is not optimal. This community service activity aims to improve teachers' digital competence through training and mentoring on digital transformation in learning processes. The activity was held on May 20, 2026. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which included the stages of observation, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The training activities focused on the use of Gemini AI, the development of digital learning media using Canva, and the preparation of digital learning evaluations using Wayground. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' digital competence, as indicated by an increase in the average score of participants from 58 in the pre-test to 93 in the post-test. The evaluation results also showed that most participants responded positively to the materials, training methods, and mentoring provided. Teachers have become more capable of utilizing digital technology to compile teaching materials, develop interactive learning media, and carry out learning evaluations more effectively and efficiently. Thus, this activity has proven to support the digital transformation of learning and improve the competence of elementary school teachers in facing the demands of education in the digital era.

Abstract

The flash flood and landslide disaster in Aceh Central District caused intense psychological trauma to children at SD Negeri 9 Kebayakan. This community service (PkM) aims to eradicate the negative effects of the crisis through trauma healing services within a group counseling framework. The method utilized in this research is Participant Observation, where the studentpractitioners directly immersed themselves as group facilitators, enabling real-time evaluation of behavioral shifts. The intervention was systematically structured across four consecutive sessions, integrating play therapy, expressive arts, and deep relaxation coping mechanisms. Data analysis using the Understanding, Comfortable, and Action (U-C-A) indicators demonstrated a substantial decrease in residual anxiety and a major enhancement in emotional resilience among students in grades III, IV, and V, shifting them into a highly secure psychological state.

Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution and Society 5.0 require teachers to master digital skills, particularly coding and artificial intelligence (AI), as part of contemporary pedagogical competence. SMK Negeri 5 Lhokseumawe, as the community partner, faced limited teacher understanding of basic coding and AI concepts and had not optimally integrated these technologies into classroom instruction. This community service program aimed to strengthen teachers' digital competence through coding and AI training conducted by a team from Politeknik Negeri Lhokseumawe. The method comprised needs identification, theoretical instruction, hands-on practice, and evaluation using a pretest-posttest design. The three-day program (12-14 May 2026) involved 22 teachers from various subjects. Results showed participants' mean score increased from 65.45 (pretest) to 84.77 (posttest), a gain of 19.32 points (29.53%), confirmed statistically significant by a paired-sample t-test (t = 14.28; df = 21; p < .001). On the practical aspect, the mean score of the learning products produced by participants reached 86.50 (very good category). Participant satisfaction toward the training averaged 4.68 out of 5 (very satisfied). This program is expected to foster a sustainable culture of technology-based learning innovation within the partner school.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has disrupted various aspects of life, including the education, communication, and economic sectors. However, low digital literacy and entrepreneurship skills among adolescents remain major obstacles to optimizing digital economic opportunities. This issue was also identified among students at SMAS IMTEK, who exhibited limited comprehensive understanding of digital literacy, productive utilization of digital media, and development of digital-based product marketing. Responding to this urgency, this Community Service (PkM) program aims to enhance students' knowledge and skills in optimizing digital platforms as entrepreneurship product marketing tools. The program implementation method applied an educational and participatory approach through socialization, training, practice, and mentoring phases. The intervention materials encompassed digital literacy concepts, digital marketing, optimization of social media and marketplaces, standardization of promotional content, and digital marketing strategies. The program target involved 25 SMAS IMTEK students oriented toward the entrepreneurship field. The results of the PkM program indicated a significant increase in students' digital literacy understanding and digital marketing capabilities. Participants were able to configure digital business accounts, construct persuasive promotional content, and adopt digital media features to expand market reach. Furthermore, this initiative successfully accelerated students' awareness of utilizing technology productively, creatively, and accountably. This PkM program provides an applicable contribution to strengthening digital literacy, escalating entrepreneurial competencies, and improving students' readiness to face digital economic challenges. Abstract

A clean, green, and comfortable school environment is one of the factors that supports a conducive learning process. However, limited land often becomes an obstacle in developing green spaces in schools. This situation led to the implementation of the Happy Wall Garden program at UPT SD Negeri Ngadirenggo 01 as an effort to optimize space through the integration of mural art and recycling-based greening. The program aims to create a more fresh, aesthetic, and educational learning environment while also fostering awareness of environmental preservation. The method used is a participatory approach through stages of observation, coordination with the school, planning, mural implementation, creating a wall garden using used plastic bottles as planting media, and evaluating the results. The program's implementation shows that integrating murals and wall gardens can transform school wall areas that were previously underutilized becoming a more interesting and educational space. Using used plastic bottles as planting media also provides a simple example of applying recycling principles in everyday life. Besides beautifying the school environment, this program strengthens collaboration between students and the school in creating a more comfortable learning space

Abstract

This training program aimed to enhance the capacity of teachers at MIN 15 Aceh Barat to use Canva for Education in developing graphic-based learning media. The program adopted a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving 21 teachers through socialization, workshops, hands-on practice, and mentoring. Program evaluation was conducted through observation, interviews, and assessment of the learning media developed by the teachers. The results indicated that 92% of the learning media produced were highly suitable for classroom use, while more than 80% of the teachers successfully created instructional materials independently. Despite limited access to premium features due to belajar.id account activation issues, the program enhanced participants' enthusiasm and digital literacy. The findings suggest that practical and affordable training can effectively support technology integration in madrasah education and can be replicated in similar educational contexts
