Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of extracurricular khitobah at MI Al Khairiyyah 01 Semarang in building self-confidence and nurturing young preachers as a strategy for instilling Islamic values from an early age and developing public communication skills in elementary school children. The research uses a qualitative approach to capture meanings, experiences, and social dynamics that cannot be measured quantitatively. Data collection techniques were carried out through participatory observation and interviews. The research location was at MI Al Khairiyyah 01 Semarang, which is the center for the implementation of the khitobah extracurricular program. The results show that this activity not only attracts students' interest but also becomes an important pillar in shaping a young generation that is confident, articulate, and morally upright. The mimicry memorization method was strategically applied as a first step in mastering basic speech techniques by imitating and memorizing according to the teacher's instructions. Although its implementation faced several challenges, the application of this method was responded to through contextual and adaptive solutions. The integration of khitobah with the school curriculum made it a vehicle for shaping Islamic character, public literacy, and 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools as Islamic educational institutions require human resource management (HRM) that is in line with Islamic values. This study analyzes Islamic value-based HRM at the Salafiyah Asshoghiri Islamic Boarding School, focusing on the role of HR, challenges, planning, and evaluation. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that HR management at this Islamic boarding school is centered on the values of Honesty–Prayer–Fear of the Forbidden, which form the basis for recruitment, training, and supervision. The main challenges include character incompatibility, variations in discipline, and environmental influences. HR planning is carried out selectively and value-oriented, while continuous evaluation integrates behavioral observation and moral consistency. This model offers an effective approach to character building and institutional strengthening based on Islamic values.

Abstract

This study examines the methodological relationships and distinctions among Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir), interpretation (ta’wil), and translation. Tafsir emphasizes explaining the apparent meanings of verses through textual, historical, and linguistic approaches. Ta’wil explores deeper or symbolic meanings, while translation conveys the message into another language to ensure wider accessibility. Using a qualitative and literature-based approach, this research analyzes classical and contemporary works to formulate operational boundaries and criteria of validity. The findings highlight the importance of conceptual clarity, methodological accuracy, and linguistic precision in producing a more comprehensive understanding of the Qur’an.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the variation in the quality of Qur’an recitation among female students (mahasantriah). The research aims to analyze the management of Qira’ah Al-Qur’an mentoring at Ma’had Al-Jami’ah, UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan, by examining the functions of management: planning, organizing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and continuous evaluation. The findings indicate that the management of Qira’ah Al-Qur’an mentoring has been implemented effectively and in a structured manner, starting from planning based on placement tests, clear organization of human resources, scheduled instructional activities, to a tiered system of supervision and evaluation. This implementation contributes significantly to improving the quality of Qur’an recitation among the mahasantriah, especially in the aspects of makharijul huruf, fluency, and mastery of tajwid. However, the study also identifies the need for innovation in instructional methods and the development of more standardized evaluation instruments to achieve more optimal outcomes. It is hoped that these findings can serve as a reference for the development of Qur’an mentoring programs in similar educational institutions.

Abstract

Strengthening character through digital literacy is an effort to shape students' attitudes and behavior to be wise, critical, and responsible in using digital media. This study aims to describe the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers in strengthening student character through digital literacy at SMA NU Nurul Hajar Dungkek Sumenep. This type of research is a case study using qualitative research methods. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Islamic religious education teachers play a strategic efforts in instilling Islamic values and etiquette in the use of digital technology. Through the integration of Syed Naquib Al-Attas's concept of ta'dib, digital literacy is understood not only as technological skills but also as the process of developing digital etiquette and morality. Efforts to strengthen digital literacy based on Islamic values help students become wise media users, critical of information, and imbued with Islamic morals in facing the challenges of the post-truth era.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of a love-based curriculum in Aqidah Akhlak learning at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Mandailing Natal and to examine its impact on pedagogical relationships, learning motivation, and students’ character formation. A qualitative case study approach was employed to explore classroom practices through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the love-based curriculum is implemented through integrative learning strategies emphasizing role modeling, dialogical communication, and the internalization of compassion values. This approach contributes to a more humanistic classroom atmosphere, increased learning motivation, and the development of empathy, responsibility, and discipline among students. However, several challenges remain, including limited teacher understanding, insufficient training, and inadequate supporting facilities. These findings suggest that the love-based curriculum holds significant potential as a transformative approach for strengthening Aqidah Akhlak learning and fostering holistic character development in Islamic educational contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the urgency of revitalizing technological principles as the foundation for developing Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in higher education in the era of Artificial Intelligence. The rapid development of AI demands an adaptive PAI curriculum, but limited understanding of technological principles remains instrumental and partial. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method of relevant scientific articles, books, and documents analyzed descriptively and analytically. The results indicate that revitalizing technological principles needs to be done through repositioning technology as a conceptual framework for curriculum development, not just as a learning tool. These findings emphasize the importance of adaptive, critical, and valuable technology integration so that the PAI curriculum remains academically relevant and morally and spiritually sound. This study has implications for strengthening PAI curriculum development theory, learning practices in higher education, and Islamic education policy. Further research is recommended to examine the empirical implementation of revitalizing technological principles in the context of PAI learning.
