Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged innovation in art education, particularly through interactive media that support students’ creative and psychological development. This study aims to examine the role of the Animated Drawing application in enhancing elementary school students’ self-confidence in drawing imaginative figures in fine arts learning. The research was conducted at UPTD SDN 1 Kepandean involving 41 fifth-grade students and employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with students and teachers, and documentation of students’ drawings and animated works. Data validity was ensured through triangulation, while data analysis followed the interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate an improvement in students’ self-confidence after the use of the Animated Drawing application. Students showed greater willingness to display their artwork, increased pride in seeing their drawings transformed into animation, and higher enthusiasm during learning activities. The animation process reduced fear and embarrassment and encouraged freer expression of ideas. However, students’ confidence in communicating learning difficulties to teachers remained moderate. Overall, the study concludes that Animated Drawing effectively supports self-confidence and creative expression in elementary art education.

Abstract

The background of this study is the demand of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 for Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), particularly critical thinking and logical argumentation among university students. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is recognized as effective in developing these skills; however, valid and comprehensive assessment instruments, especially in essay form, remain limited. This study aims to develop and examine the quality of an essay test instrument to measure students' critical thinking and logical argumentation skills within PBL in the Logic and Critical Thinking Methods course. The method employed was Research and Development (R&D), adapting a simplified Borg and Gall model, which included needs analysis, test blueprint design, item development, expert validation, empirical try-outs, and item quality analysis. The research subjects were 55 students in Surabaya. Expert validation using Aiken's V showed an average coefficient of 0.81, categorized as very high. Construct validity testing using item-total correlation confirmed that all items were valid, and reliability testing using Cronbach's Alpha yielded a coefficient of 0.768, indicating high reliability. Item quality analysis revealed that most items possessed moderate difficulty and high discrimination power. In conclusion, the developed instrument is valid, reliable, and suitable for use as a measurement tool for assessing students' critical thinking and logical argumentation abilities in a PBL context.

Abstract

The pesantren environment has distinctive characteristics, particularly a dense schedule of academic, religious, and boarding activities, which may influence students’ cardiovascular fitness. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the pesantren context on the cardiovascular fitness of seventh-grade students at MTs Manbaul Hikam. A descriptive quantitative approach with mixed methods was employed. Primary data were obtained through cardiovascular fitness measurements using the Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run (PACER) Test, while supporting data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The research involved 174 seventh-grade students from five classes. Interviews were conducted with a Physical Education teacher, a pesantren supervisor, and three students to explore daily activity patterns. The results showed that students’ overall cardiovascular fitness was in the low category. Although Physical Education lessons and sports extracurricular activities were provided, students’ participation levels and physical activity intensity were uneven. Interview findings revealed that the dense daily schedule and limited rest time were significant factors affecting students’ fitness. In conclusion, the pesantren context influences students’ cardiovascular fitness through the regulation of daily activities and lifestyle patterns, indicating the need for better balance between academic, religious, and physical activities.

This study aims to determine the development process, feasibility level, and practicality of BRIGAVI SIPA as a Picture Storybook-Based Learning Media and Videos on Pancasila Symbols and Their Application for Grade I Elementary School. The development was carried out using the ADDIE model through the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The resulting products are five picture storybooks and learning videos. The feasibility results show that BRIGAVI SIPA as a learning media is in the very feasible category with a percentage of 95% by media experts, 97% by language experts, and 94% by material experts. The practicality test involved teachers and 16 grade I students, who each obtained a percentage of 91% and 97%, respectively, in the very practical category.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of student involvement in Pancasila Education learning, particularly in the topic of recognizing norms in society. This condition is influenced by teacher centered learning practices and the limited use of interactive and technology based learning media in the classroom. As a result, students tend to be passive and less motivated during the learning process. This study aims to develop IN-WAY GENORA learning media (Interactive Wayground based Material on Recognizing Norms in Society) and to determine its feasibility and practicality for sixth grade elementary school students. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through validation questionnaires completed by media experts, material experts, and language experts, as well as response questionnaires from teachers and students. The results indicate that the IN-WAY GENORA media achieved feasibility percentages of 91% from media experts, 91% from material experts, and 97% from language experts, all categorized as very feasible. Furthermore, student responses reached 86% and teacher responses reached 82%, both classified as very practical. These findings indicate that IN-WAY GENORA is highly suitable and practical for supporting Pancasila Education learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the need to strengthen elementary school teacher performance in the Merdeka Belajar era, which emphasizes autonomy, collaboration, and reflective instructional practices. The study aims to examine the implementation of collaborative academic supervision and its contribution to improving teachers’ performance. A qualitative case study approach was conducted at SD Negeri 01 Kalirejo, Talun District, Pekalongan Regency, during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, documentation analysis, teacher perception questionnaires, and reflective journals. The findings show that collaborative academic supervision was implemented systematically through joint planning, classroom observation, reflective dialogue, and collegial follow-up actions, with the principal acting as a facilitator rather than an evaluator. This approach positively influenced teacher performance in lesson planning, instructional implementation, assessment practices, follow-up actions, and professional development. Teachers also demonstrated increased motivation, reflective awareness, and collaborative engagement. The novelty of this study lies in evidence that collaborative academic supervision functions as a sustainable professional learning strategy aligned with Merdeka Belajar principles framework.
