Abstract

Information and communication technology, or ICT, has expanded quickly and has an influence on the entire world. Teachers may use technology to improve English language learning opportunities in a variety of situations. Using Quizizz, a media application with educational advantages, may facilitate online learning by encouraging students to learn innovatively and actively response to questions, which makes it simpler to carry out in class. The purpose of this study is to find out the students’ perception in using Quizizz as online learning media in second language classroom. This is a quantitative study conducted utilising questionnaires. This questionnaire was filled out by 20 students. The statements are questions would be like in the following: 1. Quizizz is interesting and fun in online class (English Linguistic class), 2. Quizizz has an attractive display in English Linguistic class, 3. Quizizz has many challenging features in English Linguistic class, 4. I enjoy doing the test using Quizizz, 5. Quizizz feels like a game, 6. Quizizz doesn’t make me tense in doing the test, 7. I can’t cheat during the test using Quizizz, 8. Quizizz creates a competitive atmosphere, 9. I feel encouraged to be number one on the leaderboard, and 10. Quizizz is better than the traditional test. The data for this study was collected by asking students to fill out a Google form with a statement and four Likert scale options, which were then analysed by calculating the percentage and number of student selections. The study's findings demonstrate the benefits of using Quizizz as an online learning tool, including: 1) student interest; 2) Tense for positive meaning; and 3) competition. In other words, while there are numerous advantages to utilising Quizizz as an online learning medium, there is one disadvantage: the subject is not fully absorbed.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to figure out whether the use of dictogloss has a significant effect on the students’ listening comprehension on the second semester students of Polytechnic Unggul LP3M Medan (AKAP2A/2023). The method of this study was classroom action research which had three cycles whereby there were two meetings for each cycle. Each cycle consisted of four steps: planning, implementing, observation and reflection. The field notes and test constituted the research data. The data were analyzed through assembling the data, coding, comparing, building interpretations, and reporting the outcomes. The research findings showed that Dictogloss could improve: (1) the students’ ability in listening comprehension; (2) the students’ vocabulary; (3) the students’ ability answering Short Conversation questions correctly

Abstract

Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a term from Industrial Society 4.0 and Society 5.0. which is a "computer program, machine learning, hardware and software". Artificial Intelligence uses a science of hardware and software inspired by reverse engineering of the neocognitron patterns that work in the human brain. These Industry 4.0 products are widely used in development and daily applications in various fields, including education. The aim of this research is to clarify the role of AI in education, and the method used is a qualitative research method. In the world of education, artificial intelligence is used to personalize each student's learning. This AI system helps create a learning profile for each student, allowing learning materials to be tailored to each student's abilities, learning style and experience. The implementation of AI technology in the education sector makes things easier for educators in various matters, especially in the administrative sector, such as determining final grades based on weights and assessments, creating more active learning, and making the tasks of teachers and students easier in learning and teaching activities. Abstract

Education is the endeavour of a person to be a better person and to develop the self-potency that he possesses so that he can benefit himself and others. Education aims to help students to develop and enhance the potential that they possess themselves. Efforts to provide quality, effective and efficient IPA learning are continuing. Starting with the completion of teaching materials, the provision of teachers, up to the continuous updating of curricula – continuous improvements are made, then from that here the researchers carry out the action of creating Media and Teaching Materials by using Canva that produces products to create more innovation, creativity, and activity in the students of prospective SD teachers. Targeted outlets are producing web-based interactive media based on projects or issues, collaborating with partners outside the university on further research, and reputable publications. The research is aimed at studying the application of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) that uses Media Canva in the learning process for prospective teachers of Elementary Schools (SD) at the Faculty of Education and Education Sciences of Muhammadiyah University of Northern Sumatra (UMN) Alwashliyah. The application of this model is expected to enhance the practical skills of prospective teachers in integrating modern learning technologies and media into their teaching practices. The research method used is R n D method. Data is collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The participants in this study were students of future SD teachers who were involved in a project-based learning program that uses Canva as the main medium. In addition, the use of Canva as a learning medium enables students to produce interesting and interactive teaching materials, which is expected to increase the interest and motivation of students in the future. The study concludes that the application of the PjBL model based on Media Canva provides significant benefits for the development of pedagogical skills of future SD teachers, as well as making a positive contribution to innovation in educational practice at the Faculty of Education and Science of UMN Alwashliyah.

Abstract

This study aimed to look at a descriptive analysis of interest in practicing English in Class III elementary school students at SDS Amir Hamzah. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach, this approach was directed at background and individuals holistically. The Research was carried out using various learning methods such as the use of fun media. Qualitative research linked the concept of learning English to the cultural background and characteristics of students. The Practical implementation of this method included mastery of technology, pedagogy and knowledge of learning content. The data analysis technique used the technique proposed by Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation and verification and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data was used trustworthiness through interviews. The results of this research shown that the implementation of English language training had been carried out well and smoothly in class III elementary school in Amir Hamzah. This could be seen from the development of learning in understanding the concepts of text material based on class III material which was running smoothly. This was increasing because the learning that took place apart from conveying theory also included practical exercises with related material that directly involved students' culture. A thematic integrated approach to learning was an approach that was integrated with students' culture and was linked to English texts so that students can understand what the teacher was saying and learning looked meaningful.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dalam berkomunikasi bahasa Inggris melalui pembelajaran kontekstual. Hal ini disebebakan karena dalam proses pembelajaran masih mengalami kesulitan terutama mengungkapkan hasil yang sudah diskusikan, berdasarkan hasil observasi diketahui hanya 21,5% yang memiliki berkomunikasi bahasa inggris, jadi bukan hanya menghapal vocabulary namun juga mampu berinteraksi melalui komunikasi. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan populasi seluruh mahasiswa yang mengikuti mata kuliah bahasa Inggris di Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan di Univesitas Simalungun sebanyak 95 mahasiswa, maka sampel diambil secara purposive sampling dengan ketentuan mahasiwa memiliki kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris, maka sampel sebanyak 32 mahasiswa, teknik pengumpulan data adalah angket skala Likert dengan indikator diantaranya elaborasi, originalitas, interaksi dan fleksibiltas dan teknik analisa data menggunakan uji N-gain ternormalisasi. Hasil yang diperoleh diketahui bahwa tedapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dalam berkomunikasi bahasa Inggris melalui pembelajaran kontekstual sebesar 0,8 dengan kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, penelitian mampu memberikan informasi keterbahuruan dengan memberikan bahan informasi kontekstual budaya dan kehidupan sekitar mahasiswa mampu mengeksplor komunikasi dengan luas dan kreatif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis Project Based Learning pada tema ekosistem yang layak digunakan pada proses pembelajaran di kelas V SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan prosedur pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahap. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti melaksanakan model pengembangan ADDIE hanya sampai pada tahap pengembangan (development). Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah angket atau kuesioner yang diberikan kepada beberapa validator ahli, yaitu validator ahli media, validator ahli materi dan validator ahli pembelajaran. Total skor yang didapatkan dari validasi ahli media, yaitu 80 dengan kategori “Layak”. Dari validasi ahli materi skor yang didapatkan, yaitu 80 dengan kategori “Layak”. Dari ahli pembelajaran skor yang didapatkan sebesar 90,6 dengan kategori “Sangat Layak”. Rata-rata skor dari penilaian para ahli, yaitu 83,53. Dari skor tersebut dapat dikatakan bahwa media miniatur ekosistem air yang dikembangkan “Sangat Layak” untuk digunakan pada proses pembelajaran. Kata Kunci: Pengembangan, Media Pembelajaran, PjBL, Tema Ekosistem.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of teaching campus activities on the motivation to become teachers for teaching campus students of the Faculty of Teacher Training, Muslim Nusantara Alwashliyah University of Medan in 2023/2024. This study used students or participants from teaching campus activities as respondents as many as 20 students. The data collection technique in this study uses a questionnaire given to students participating in the teaching campus. Then, the results of the research in accordance with the hypothesis formulated in this study can be accepted as true, because t is calculated ≥ t table or 3.31 ≥ 1.73. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of teaching campus activities on the motivation to become teachers for teaching campus students at the Faculty of Teacher Training, Muslim Nusantara Alwashliyah University Medan

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the AIR (Auditory Intellectually Repetition) Learning Model on the Economic Learning Outcomes of Class This research used a population of class IPS-1 totaling 26 students of MAS Al-Washliyah 12 Perbaungan. The results of the research are in accordance with the hypothesis formulated in this research and can be accepted as true, because tcount ≥ ttable or 1.80 ≥ 1.71. It can be concluded that there is a significant influence in the learning model AIR (Auditory Intellectually Repetition) on students' economic learning outcomes in class X IPS MAS Al-Washliyah 12 Perbaungan.

Abstract

This research was conducted to analysis the students motivation with ice breaking at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Syababul Qorib Perbaungan 2023/2024 in academic year which consisted of 29 students. This research used qualitative method. Teaching activities are not only limited to the teacher providing material but also pay attention to students whether they are focused or not during the learning process. The presence of internal and external factors is very important so that the learning process is good and enjoyable. Low learning motivation makes learning not optimal. Students are not focused and enthusiastic because teachers often use the lecture method in the learning process. So that students can focus again, ice breaking is needed to restore a pleasant learning atmosphere. Ice breaking functions as a learning process, as an energizer before providing the main material, ice breaking , and when experiencing boredom, it gives a pleasant impression when learning. Examples of ice breaking include providing quizzes, games, singing and others that make learning more fun. The objectives of this research are (1) Analysis learning motivation in the face-to-face learning process, (2) Analysis student learning motivation through the use of ice breaking in learning. In collecting the data, researcher distributed interview and ice breaking (sing a song) to measure their motivation in learning English, and the researcher used opposite-word song as a ice breaking and it is categorized into good motivation because the students very excited to learning English. Based on the research finding, it can be concluded that the students have fair motivation in learning English because it is effective by the teacher, parents and environment.
